Man faces sex-related charges

Victims, between 19 and 22 years old, had cellphones stolen, some were sexually assaulted, according to police An Ottawa man is facing charges of sexual assault, theft and other offences after police say women were offered rides home and then molested. In at least one instance, police say, a man offered a victim a ride home from the Byward Market in an “underground” or bandit taxi. “In this case, they may have been trying to solicit taxis when he pulls up,” said Staff Sgt. John McGetrick The suspect, Magabi Lashury Suleiman, 29, is charged with two counts of sexual assault, three counts of forcible confinement, four counts of theft, one count of theft of a credit card as well as criminal harassment and intimidation. He is also charged with breaching the terms of a recognizance. When he was arrested, Suleiman was awaiting trial on seven counts
