Bold and bohemian, this interior design look is something that Mineheart specialise in. This trend is about mixing eclectic accessories and quirky wall art with dark Victoriana to create sensory overload. Colours are dark and wallpapers feature big blooms and curious creatures. Shades of sherbet and jewel-like hues offset the dark theme to give this look a richly luxurious feel. THE LOFT OF TWO ARCHITECTS IN KYIV, WITH ANTRAX IT RADIATORS A hint of Indonesia, memories of Ukraine and Eurasia and suggestions from France and Italy coexist under the same roof.

The project, called Hayloft, is the house that the two Ukrainian architects of the studio Loft Buro - Oleg Volosovsky and Elena Logvynets, husband and wife - built for their family in Kyiv, imagining it as a collection of cultures, colours, materials, antiques and handicrafts, paintings, graffiti, bas-reliefs, sculptures from their travels and memories of Scythians’ times. This orchestra of elements, so different and so harmonized with each other, amalgamates with two other characteristics: the large volume of the building - previously used for commercial activities, with exposed systems, metal ceilings, concrete and brick structures, double heights - which has been renovated maintaining a strong industrial appeal; and, on the other hand, the owners’ will to create a private refuge where new technologies and sustainability act as a continuous background for the eclectic compositional mix.

Wrapped by white plastered brick walls and illuminated from large windows with anthracite finishes, the first level embraces the kitchen separated with glass walls, dining room and the living area that extends on the upper mezzanine, as well as a laundry and the daughter’s room. On the second floor, the living room expands into a work space and then into the bedroom, with walk-in closet and bathroom, designed according to the same concept. A philosophy that combines high-tech and antiques solutions, in a continuous contrast between ancient, modern and contemporary.

Design furniture and leather finishes, wooden floors with mosaic alternating stone, a majolica traditional Ukrainian fireplace, solid wood benches contrast with the enveloping shell and its technical dimension and function: spotlights and projectors, water channels hang from the ceiling, while the electricity pipes branch off on the wall, with the switch boxes deliberately left visible. The aesthetics of the exposed tubes, which offer a decorative pattern to the interior design, is echoed by Antrax IT A_25 and BD 25 radiators, chosen by the architects in matt anthracite tone and in different vertical configurations for the living, bedroom and bathroom environments. Both made of 100% recyclable carbon steel, the two models, composed by tubular elements with a diameter of 25mm, feature a rhythmical alternation of solids and voids: the A_25 model has been used in its vertical configuration, while BD 25 arranged horizontally, welded on two 35 mm manifolds.

AT NEWFOUNDLAND, CANARY WHARF Newfoundland is a 220m tall newly built apartment building at the forefront of Canary Wharf. To compliment the interior décor our clients wanted a subtle gold effect on the lift entrances from floors 3-58. 4 newly installed passenger lifts service the building. Each floors’ lift lobby had 4 entrances, 4 indicators and 2 full height call button panels that required wrapping. The client had already chosen PA-046 from the 3M Di-noc architectural vinyl range. Along with other companies, Omnia vinyl were asked to carry out a demo installation wrap on site. The quality of our demo wrap ensured that we were the chosen company to take this lift wrap project forward. Due to the sheer scale of this project and the volume of vinyl involved, it was manufactured specifically for us by 3M Japan.

DARK DRAMA: THE STOCKWELL HOUSE PROJECT BY HAVWOODS

One of the recent additions to Havwoods’ projects portfolio is Stockwell House. Set within the beautiful Lansdowne Garden conservation area in the heart of Stockwell, this impressive and recently transformed Georgian terraced house exudes dark eyecatching character. The design brief for the project was to create a classic and spacious interior scheme that reflects the language of the external surroundings, connecting it to the inside. All whilst reinstating original features to complement the style and heritage of the property.

The Fendi board in a herringbone composition from the Havwoods collection has been used throughout the lower and upper ground floors, delivering a stunning sense of detail and cohesion. Chosen for its high class and luxurious aesthetic, the herringbone board was also matched with the exquisite Venture Plank Fendi board across the bedrooms and landings to help exude a calmer quality to the home whilst differentiating the areas in the property. Each room throughout the home embraces a deep monochrome colour palette that gives the interior instant wow-factor. The monochrome theme was carried throughout and into the lower ground floor, with accents of brass and ironmongery to help lift and lighten the space.
