The BergLoft 3-bedroom Mountain Villa is on the top floor of the building with stunning views of the mountains. With its own separate entrance and lift, it extends over an incredible 350 square metres with a modern-minimalist look using natural materials. LOUIS VUITTON OPENS A NEW STORE AND LE CAFÉ CYRIL LIGNAC IN LONDON HEATHROW’S TERMINAL 2

Furthering its ambition as a Maison of travel and culture, Louis Vuitton is pleased to announce the opening of a new store and a new café in collaboration with chef Cyril Lignac at London Heathrow’s Terminal 2.

Centrally located to accommodate domestic and international departures, the intimate café adjoins a new Louis Vuitton store that stands out for its exceptional, aerodynamic façade designed in collaboration with Marc Fornes. Founder of THEVERYMANY, an art and architecture studio in

New York, he collaborated with Louis Vuitton on an exceptional pavilion installation at the 2023 Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan. Here, again, the exterior design explores technology and futuristic shapes, which are at once contextual and symbolic of the Maison’s perennial inspiration of travel.

Since 2020, hospitality has become an expanding expression of savoirfaire and lifestyle for Louis Vuitton through the realisation of over 20 restaurants, cafés, chocolate shops and airport lounges that complement destinations and stores around the world. Whether Le Café V in Ginza, to the seasonal

restaurant in St. Tropez and the airport lounge at the Doha International Airport, each is uniquely conceived while evoking the Louis Vuitton experience. This latest culinary concept is the first to launch in the United Kingdom.

Entering this open, futuristic-style pavilion, travellers will discover items primarily from the women’s universe along with a selection of men’s accessories and leather goods. The café seamlessly exists within the store, featuring counter service as well as table seating. While a curvilinear, second-skin interior gives a sense of calm, the café will feel at once playful and sophisticated, offering an

environment that is welcoming and inclusive amidst the airport’s steady flow. The luminous setting is accented with orange and gold tones across the décor for a warm, lively touch. Overhead, a series of Quetzal Mobiles by atelier oï, part of the Objets Nomades collection, colourfully conjure birds in flight. Leather table mats, a table service bordered with the Monogram in gold, and vibrant Twist glasses provide a full vision of the Louis Vuitton Art de la Table.

Le Café Cyril Lignac also marks Louis Vuitton’s first collaboration with the celebrated Parisian chef, who brings a casual finesse to both classic French and international cuisine. Chef Cyril Lignac is renowned for his fusion restaurants and patisseries-chocolate boutiques in Paris, Saint-Tropez and London.

To accommodate travellers from morning through evening, Cyril Lignac has developed an exclusive, all-day dining and beverage menu that provides healthy, classic and gourmand options. Naturally, there will be Royal Eggs, along with croissant, fruit plate and avocado toast to start. In addition to Lignac signatures such as the crab salad, elevated snacks and hot dishes include a Croque Monsieur, lobster roll, beetroot salad with goat cheese, and Caesar Salad. For a sweet finish, artful Louis Vuitton patisseries and a mango Eton Mess will delight ahead of a flight.

Right now, we’re preparing to launch a new dining destination in November this year – an energetic space that will not only continue to serve memorable Afternoon Tea & breakfast, but will offer a sophisticated informal all day dining experience - as we will too, unveil the first of our refurbished rooms and suites in 2025. We’ll also reopen the legendary Simpson’s in the Strand with Jeremy King in 2025, which will join our already incredibly strong culinary offering with our three Gordon Ramsay restaurants, including the Michelinstar 1890.

To celebrate this monumental milestone, The Savoy is unveiling a series of exclusive initiatives and masterclasses, including a limitededition cocktail book and personal stories from key figures who have shaped the hotel’s iconic status.

Home to The Savoy Cocktail Book, created by legendary Head Bartender Henry Craddock in 1930, and signature serves such as the White Lady and vintage Hanky Panky, the American Bar and Beaufort Bar have become beloved staples in the global cocktail scene. finger sandwiches including Burford Brown Egg Mayonnaise with garden herbs, Smoked Salmon and Cream Cheese and Coronation Chicken followed by Traditional and Cranberry Spiced Scones and other homemade delights including White Chocolate and Orange Yule Log, Red Velvet Reindeer, Hazelnut Praline Bauble and Red Fruit Santa’s Hat.

Priced at £45, the festive afternoon tea will be available from the 18thNovember 2024 to the 6th January 2025 between 12:00pm and 5:30pm. The Winter Fizz Terrace

Overlooking the frosty Green Park, the spacious outdoor terrace allows guests to enjoy a festive tipple or two whilst enjoying the enchanting snow windows, featuring the winter adventures of Arthur, the hotel’s cuddly teddy bear mascot. From festive cocktails to design your own hot chocolates, the al fresco haven has something for everyone, with its plush cushions and blankets providing a cosy escape for guests to soak up the festive buzz of the city.

The venue’s boozy hot chocolate’s steal the show, featuring a range of different flavours and the option to design your own with plenty of topping choices including marshmallows, nuts and candy canes. Hot chocolates will be priced from £15 and options include:

THE GLENLIVET REDEFINES TRADITION WITH THE RELEASE OF ITS OLDEST SINGLE MALT

The Glenlivet, the iconic Speyside single malt Scotch whisky, has unveiled a masterpiece that celebrates its excellence in whisky craftsmanship and design, embodying the originality that has defined it since its inception in 1824: The Glenlivet Eternal Collection, First Edition, 55 Year Old, in collaboration with computational architect, Michael Hansmeyer.

A true rarity, The Glenlivet’s oldest and most ambitious expression to

date comprises just 100 beautifully crafted bottles, while every aspect of the new release has been considered with meticulous attention to detail. Crafted from a seasoned sherry cask and carefully matured over more than five decades, this precious single malt offers a complex flavour profile and astonishingly long finish.

In partnership with pioneering artist, Michael Hansmeyer, the 55 Year Old single malt whisky sits within a strikingly beautiful

sculpture that takes inspiration from the home of The Glenlivet. Mirroring the eternal essence and flow of the River Livet, which is located deep in the Spey Valley where The Glenlivet was born, Hansmeyer brought his unique expertise in computational architecture to create this highly original art piece.

With hand-sculpted jesmonite and rose gold plating, the sculpture perfectly houses the spherical decanter of the 55 Year Old. In a

stunning display of contemporary modelling through computer programming, this art piece brings subtle intricacies that are testament to the craftsmanship at the heart of every creation from The Glenlivet.

Kevin Balmforth, The Glenlivet Cask Master who was responsible for directing the final maturation years of the 55 Year Old whisky, describes the taste experience as “a medley of autumn fruits, sun-drenched Seville oranges and sticky dates enveloped by the spiced warmth of cinnamon and nutmeg on the nose, alongside the sweet, warming flavours of homemade blackcurrant jam and vanilla fudge, balanced with zesty citrus notes on the palate.”

Speaking about the inspiration behind the sculpture Michael

Hansmeyer, computational architect & programmer, explained: “My work captures the intersection of architecture and the arts. It is a laboratory for experimenting with new possibilities, and that is where I saw the harmony in collaborating with The Glenlivet. Weaving threads of intelligent technologies to create something that escapes conformity and classification to celebrate such an aged whisky has been a thrill. I created this sculpture as a tribute to the complexity of The Glenlivet’s oldest expression and the rugged beauty of the distillery’s Scottish landscape, capturing the spirit of where innovation meets tradition.”

This exceptional 55 Year Old single malt is the First Edition of The Glenlivet Eternal Collection – a new range of highly collectable precious whiskies, released annually. All future releases, each taken from a single, extraordinary cask, will be aged for one additional year and will be accompanied by an original artform crafted by a new visionary artist. Together, this will create a collection to cherish.

Piper-Heidsieck, the most awarded Champagne house of the century, has launched a cinematic advertising campaign, to stage its own story with renowned British artist, Miles Aldridge.

The campaign titled Twist the Script, brings to life how PiperHeidsieck has been doing things differently and defying convention over the course of its history.

‘Twisting the Script’ reimagines tradition with bold, innovative flair. This is embedded in PiperHeidsieck’s DNA for decades and remains a driving force behind the brand’s approach to winemaking today.

Miles Aldridge has brought Twist the Script to life in his inimitable style, illustrating four audacious stories from Piper-Heidsieck’s rich history, with cinematic scenes that twist the script and highlight its daring and pioneering spirit.

TWISTING THE SCRIPT SINCE 1785

The champagne house’s maverick ‘script twisting’ has manifested itself in many ways over the brand’s history. Whether through the appointment of 31-year-old Chef de Caves, Émilien Boutillat, back in 2018, who brought his innovative approach to winemaking; or becoming the first champagne house to ever achieve B Corp status, Piper-Heidsieck is not afraid of ripping up the rulebook and blazing its own trail.

While other champagne houses often choose to play it safe with their brand partnerships.

In 1999, Piper-Heidsieck embarked on a bold and unprecedented collaboration with fashion designer Jean-Paul Gaultier. The fashion icon gave Piper-Heidsieck Champagne a provocative makeover, encasing the bottle in a corset—a daring and seductive twist that redefined the high-end reputation of champagne.

The champagne house’s long heritage doesn’t stand in the way of progress as the brand has been at the forefront of technology, using advanced machinery in the champagne production process. The brand has also invested in Vitibot, a world leading wine robotics business, to further lead the way in sustainable viticulture.

Piper-Heidsieck’s new Twist the Script campaign features rich visuals, created by British artists and photographer, Miles Aldridge. The imagery brings to life iconic stories, reaffirming the Champagne house’s rich history and its enduring link to cinema, with the champagne brand being the first champagne to appear in the movie “Son’s of the Desert” in 1933 with Laurel and Hardy and having featured in more than 300 films.

Furthermore, the brand has long advocated for the arts and film industry and enjoyed an enduring partnership with the Festival de Cannes and the Oscars.

Unique stories brought to life through the Twist the Script campaign, include the champagne house’s bold approach to providing champagne during the prohibition era, by finding creative routes for champagne to be delivered throughout New York, often with cases of Piper-Heidsieck being

Legendary lover of Piper-Heidsieck, Marilyn Monroe, is one of the stars of the new brand campaign visuals. The champagne house celebrates how Marilyn too liked to do things in her own unique way. When other female stars of the screen would wait around for the right script, Marilyn grew tired of waiting and decided to become a producer herself and set up her own company, she was one of the first females to do so.

Hand-crafted single malt The Balvenie unveils The Balvenie Fifty Collection, an ultra-rare and exclusive launch epitomising half a century of unparalleled craftsmanship.

With only 125 bottles released from each of the three editions over the next three years, this meticulously curated trilogy by Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie debuted at Harrods, London, in August. One of The Balvenie’s most remarkable launches to date, the collection represents the interwoven stories of craftsmanship at the Speyside distillery over the last 50 years.

The First Edition, a unique single cask expression (cask number 8720), aged in a European oak refill butt, was filled in 1973 and selected by Malt Master Kelsey McKechnie. For the Second Edition, Kelsey introduces a second American oak hogshead cask filled in 1973 to marry with the first, before adding a third American oak Bbarrel filled in 1974 cask to the marriage for the final Edition Three.

The First Edition of The Balvenie Fifty Collection showcases the depth and complexity of the spirit influenced by the European oak cask whilst maintaining The Balvenie’s classic sweet honey style, even after fifty years of maturation.

On the nose, expect aromas of deep fruits, cassis and candied apricots, layered atop delicate cedar and a warming nutty spice. On the palate the whisky presents flavours of caramelised fruits, rich spice and soft vanilla, which marry together with a delicate ginger spice and citrus zing.

The Second and Third Editions will launch in 2025 and 2026, respectively.

A straw marquetry dial: a miniature masterpiece

Each edition of a Time For Art timepiece gives Chopard the opportunity to call on one of the many Artistic Crafts cultivated

in its workshops. In keeping with this tradition, the dial of this new model is graced with straw marquetry. Created by a decoration Artisan from the Manufacture specially trained in this 17th-century technique, this masterpiece is a first for Chopard, which has never before presented a dial of this kind on its watches. The choice of straw and its link with the agricultural environment recall the deep inspiration that the Alpine Eagle collection draws from Nature and the alpine environment that Chopard is committed to preserving.

It all starts with the selection of the material: rye straw grown in Burgundy, France. Each strand is split individually with the fingernail, before being flattened with a dedicated tool called a plioir (bone folder). Using a scalpel, the straw is then cut and subsequently glued to the dial in an intricate pattern owing everything to the Artisan’s dexterity. The composition combines strands of different sizes, thicknesses and shades, while its graphic lines evoke an eagle’s eye view in full flight over the skyscrapers of New York – the city where the TimeForArt auction is to be held. Once assembled, the dial is coated with wood wax in order to reveal its full shine and brilliance. During all these stages, the light, thin nature of straw demands

extremely meticulous care and patience, justifying 60 hours of work – at the end of which the hour-markers and inner bezel ring are applied by hand, followed by the gold hours and minutes hands.

Alpine Eagle: sophisticated aesthetics

The Alpine Eagle collection reflects Chopard’s creative richness and visionary spirit in equal measure, along with inspiration drawn from the power of Nature. The one-of-akind Alpine Eagle 41 XP Time For Art remains true to this approach: a round case with stylised sides, a crown engraved with a compass rose, a bezel with eight functional indexed screws, luminescent

indications and a comfortable metal bracelet – and above all, a state-of-the-art material: Lucent Steel™. This innovative steel alloy made with an 80% recycling rate was developed by Chopard for its anti-allergenic virtues, robustness and incomparable brilliance obtained through a meticulous remelting process. The Alpine Eagle 41 XP model is endowed with pure, sleek lines and harmonious proportions. Measuring 41 millimetres in diameter and just eight millimetres thick, its case, featuring a slimmed-down bezel and sides, provides a wide opening onto the unprecedented dial.

L.U.C Calibre 96.17-L: mechanical performance

The thinness of the case is made possible by the use of the in-house L.U.C 96.17-L movement measuring just 3.30 mm thick. This self-winding movement is equipped with a 22-carat off-centre micro-rotor incorporated into the thickness of the calibre. Its high inertia enables it to wind the two stacked barrels of Chopard Twin technology, which store the energy needed to give the Alpine Eagle 41 XP Time For Art a total 65-hour power reserve. Once fitted, it will remain on time and accurate for more than two and a half days, the length of a long weekend.

This one-of-a-kind art watch will be part of the TimeForArt event, an auction of outstanding timepieces by the world’s greatest master watchmakers, with 100% of the proceeds directly dedicated to supporting the most visionary contemporary artists through

Swiss Institute exhibitions, public apprenticeship programmes and free community workshops. TimeForArt offers a year-round platform for exchanges between the world of watchmaking and the visual arts.

GÜBELIN PRESENTS THIS UNIQUE HAUTE JOAILLERIE NECKLACE, INSPIRED BY THE INNER WORLD OF AN EXCEPTIONAL SPINEL

Tanzanian Sunrise is the latest haute joaillerie creation from the House of Gübelin. The impressive necklace is inspired by the fascinating inner world of a red spinel from Tanzania weighing more than 22 ct, which reminded the designers of a dragonfly spreading its wings at sunrise and taking flight.

Tanzanian Sunrise combines exquisite gemstones and the highest level of artisanship. Gübelin relies on the combination of Physical Tracers and digital technology from Provenance Proof to document the origin and authenticity of the necklace.

Unique inspiration

The inner world of a gemstone is as unique as a fingerprint. The Gübelin design team interprets the spectacular structures within a gemstone, where they find inspiration to create unrivalled

pieces, which, in addition to their external beauty, reflect their hidden inner beauty.

With the aid of a microscope, the designers immersed themselves deep within this red spinel from Tanzania (22.08 ct). There they discovered spectacular structures reminding them of a dragonfly whose wings sparkle in the radiant colours of the rising sun. Following this inspiration, they created a sculptural necklace with gemstoneset wings spreading from its central stone in the most enchanting colours of the dawn. Tanzanian Sunrise combines stunning gemstones and the highest level of artisanship to create masterful haute joaillerie.

Exquisite artisanship

The cushion-shaped spinel forms the heart of this haute joaillerie creation, set with marquise-shaped rose spinels, pink sapphires and rubies totalling more than 50 ct. Masterfully arranged, these hand-

picked gemstones are carefully combined and meticulously arranged to create a stunning colour gradient.

The necklace combines organically curved elements in red gold, reminiscent of wings glistening in the sun. They are set with orange and pink spinels in various shades of colour in a free pavé thread. Specially cut diamond baguettes whose radiance is underscored by a platinum setting add additional brilliance and plays of light. The creation is the outcome of over 700 hours of the finest artisanship at the House of Gübelin’s own jewellery atelier in Lucerne.

Raphael Gübelin, President of the House of Gübelin, explains: “Tanzanian Sunrise is a brilliant example of the interplay between our fields of expertise. Inspired by the inner world of this rare and treasured spinel, the artists in our company’s own atelier created this unique piece of haute joaillerie.”

For centuries, rubies have been associated with love and passion. The ruby has a special significance to the House of Gübelin. It symbolises the company’s Deeply Inspired philosophy. To symbolise this philosophy, each piece from Gübelin contains a ruby, embodying the Gübelin family’s passion for coloured gemstones.

For Tanzanian Sunrise, the designers selected a prominent position for the iconic Gübelin ruby in a cabochon cut, placing it between the Tanzanian spinel and the diamond baguettes. It lends the necklace another fascinating shade of red in a captivating cut. As the signature

stone, the ruby characterises the necklace as a Gübelin creation.

Spinel

Spinels are among the most sought-after gems, captivating connoisseurs with their natural beauty, rich colouration and brilliance. Demand for these exquisite gemstones has risen considerably. Intensive shades of red are especially popular.

This cushion-shaped spinel comes from Tanzania, where red and pink spinels were discovered in 2007 which are renowned throughout the world for their colour. Based on its extraordinary quality, beauty and rarity, the Gübelin Gem Lab gave this spinel of 22.08 ct a rating of 96.2 Gübelin Points, with the designation “exceptional”.

Provenance Proof – incontrovertible documentation

This cushion-shaped spinel has been entered into Provenance Proof. Gübelin uses the decentralised blockchain technology of Provenance Proof in order to ensure tamper-proof

documentation of the journey of the spinel and the creation of the jewellery piece. In addition to the digital technology, the necklace is marked with Physical Tracers from Provenance Proof, which verify the authenticity and origin of the necklace from the House of Gübelin. The combination of digital and physical technologies promises more security and traceability.

These recognitions celebrate the outstanding work of our dedicated team and the network of subcontractors who contributed their expertise to bring this extraordinary yacht to life.

The design of SPARTA is a testament to a dual vision: creating a seamless harmony between interior and exterior spaces, while crafting an intimate home for an ocean-loving family. In collaboration with Winch Design, we have delivered a visually captivating exterior inspired by

a 67m wave. The sleek, blade-like structure draws from natural forms to create a dynamic interplay between the bow and stern. The flowing transition from the main saloon to the 6.5m infinity pool exemplifies the successful fusion of indoor and outdoor environments.

Every detail of SPARTA reflects meticulous craftsmanship and a dedication to oceanic themes. The whole interior evokes a sense of exploration, enhanced by a luxurious yet welcoming atmosphere. The cohesive elements of earth, water, and air unite all

guest areas, from the aft beach terrace to the sun deck bar. The owners desired an inviting space filled with playfulness and surprise, perfectly embodying their vibrant lifestyle. Julia Roestenberg, Senior Interior Designer at Winch Design, remarked that the vision of creating a “floating home on the ocean” guided the project from concept to completion.

The interior’s colour palette—featuring light timbers, bronze accents, and soft golds—creates a contemporary and inviting ambiance. Rounded angles and reflective surfaces enhance the space’s fluidity. The VIP cabins on the main deck are particularly eyecatching, with tramazite installations above the beds that glimmer like sapphires. Wave-like carpets add an imaginative touch, woven with an “island” in the centre for children to explore. On the lower deck, a wellness hub promotes relaxation and social interaction. Natural materials underscore the water theme, featuring a hardwood whirlpool and a Turkish bath lined with cool ceramics. Thoughtful design choices, like lowered sightlines, encourage conversation and connection among guests.

The airy master suite on the upper deck reflects a sky-like ambiance, with mother-of-pearl inlays and custom carpeting. Designed to feel more like a spacious apartment, the suite provides ample room for relaxation and enjoyment. The forward owner’s suite includes a unique representation of the solar system, creating an engaging focal point for younger guests.

The collaborative efforts of engineers, artisans, and our extended family of subcontractors were instrumental in optimising both the yacht’s technical performance and its wellness-focused amenities. These include thoughtfully designed spaces for the crew, ensuring the vessel operates seamlessly.

The goal of the three-day event at the Marina of Varazze was to formalize the recent partnership with Skipper Powerboats with adrenaline-pumping sea trials aboard two exemplary models made by the Greek brand.

Supermarine, in its new role as the official distributor for the renowned Greek brand Skipper Powerboats in Italy, Spain, and Switzerland organized a threeday event from the 11th to the 13th of October for the press, enthusiasts, and public at the Marina of Varazze. On this occasion, the company reaffirmed its pride in the recent partnership with Skipper Powerboats, a Greek brand specializing in high-end sports RIBs (Rigid Inflatable Boats). The new additions will extend Supermarine’s range, which already includes the Finnish brand, Saxdor

Yachts, according to an exclusive dealership agreement covering Italy and the Principality of Monaco.

“We identified certain models made by Skipper that are unique on the nautical landscape. Skipper originates from the BSK shipyard, which stands for BENCHMARK SUPERIORITY KNOWLEDGE: these are high-performance watercraft, designed detail by detail to achieve exceptional performance on the water as the only RIBs in the world with a four-step hull,” explains Riccardo Cavarzan, Supermarine’s CEO. “Our strategy is to curate a selective network of dealers for Spain, Italy, and Switzerland, and events like these are valuable opportunities for visibility and to establish contact with operators, dealers, and enthusiasts from various regions.”

As well as comfortable couches, the airconditioned indoor lounge also has tables where dinner can be served as an alternative to the main deck depending on weather conditions and your preference. There are also PCs where you can edit photos or videos and also an indoor camera room, which has plenty of room to store your lenses, charges, lights and even your spare cameras.

Two triple cabins are spacious enough to accommodate two adults and one child or three adults, with under-bed storage to ensure ease of movement around the cabin. The other four cabins, two twin and two double, accommodate two adults each for a maximum capacity of 14 guests.

The Pearl 82 offers two aft deck options – Riviera or Veranda – to suit different lifestyles. The Riviera layout features aft-facing sun pads behind the table and sofa setup, while the Veranda option allows flexible seating for alfresco lunch/ dining, aperitifs or patio views.

In both, folding bulwarks expand the cockpit, opening it to the sea.

This new model offers direct access to a private forepeak terrace, just steps away from the sunbathing foredeck lounge. The bow area also connects to the flybridge through a passage on the starboard side, enabling seamless movement between outdoor spaces, and constituting the first asymmetric, semi walkaround deck in this size class.

EFFICIENT, ENGAGING AND EXTRAORDINARY –THE NEW CONTINENTAL GT DEMONSTRATES EFUELS

Bentley has delivered the world’s first global media drive using sustainable eFuel, as part of ongoing efforts to reduce the company’s environmental impact.

157 guests from around the globe arrived in Switzerland for the global media launch of the fourth generation Continental GT Speed coupe and convertible, which is the first event of its kind to use eFuel and demonstrate its compatibility with existing combustion engines.

eFuel is a fully synthetic fuel developed by an international consortium led by Highly Innovative Fuels (HIF) Global and backed by Porsche, and is literally created “from thin air” by the Haru Oni pilot plant in the Magallanes Region of Chile. Biogenic CO2 is captured from a brewery process and combined with hydrogen created by electrolysing water to create methanol, which can then be refined to gasoline. The blend used by Bentley for its Global Media Drive was R75 – 75 per cent eFuel, 25 per cent ordinary gasoline – and

represents a significant drop in well-to-wheels tailpipe emissions. The fuel was used both for the fleet of Continental GT Speed and also for the supporting chauffeur fleet, while 25.9 kWh hybrid batteries were charged with 100 per cent renewable electricity from local hydroelectric and wind turbine schemes. The combination of the performance of the Ultra Performance Hybrid powertrain of the new fourth generation Continental GT, the eFuel, and 100 per cent renewable electricity from the hotel enabled a reduction

of 93 per cent in CO2 vehicle emissions compared to previous events**.

The drive route combined four famous mountain passes - Sustenpass, Grimselpass, Nufenenpass and St. Gotthard-pass. Over the course of the event, the 12 Continental GT Speeds climbed a total of 1,400,000 ft, navigated over 4500 hairpins and covered 8000 miles in seven days - yet there was still a 30 per cent reduction in overall carbon impact per guest*.

Driving the new grand tourer, the guests not only experienced the dynamic capabilities of the new chassis technology with Bentley’s new advanced dual valve damper, but also the advantages of the Ultra Performance Hybrid Powertrains ability using the e-motor to torque-fill at low engine speeds and improve smoothness for gear changes.

The Continental GT Speed, which is now available to order, has been certified at 29 g/km CO2 and 217 mpg, and will be due to arrive at retailers at the start of next year.

While emissions from the on-site event have been drastically reduced, the major environmental factor for a Global Media Drive continues to be the CO2 emissions from the international flights required. In the absence of an alternative, Bentley continues to offset carbon emissions in this area using carbon credits.

F80: FERRARI’S NEW SUPERCAR

Ferrari has unveiled the F80 and wrote a new chapter in the history of legendary supercars bearing the Prancing Horse badge.

The F80 will be produced in a limited run of just 799 examples and joins the pantheon of icons such as the GTO, F40 and LaFerrari by showcasing the best that the Maranello-based marque has achieved in terms of technology and performance.

Ever since 1984, Ferrari has periodically released a new supercar that represented the pinnacle of cutting-edge technology and innovation of its era and that was destined to become enshrined in popular culture. Intended for the most discerning clients of the brand, these cars immediately became legends in their own lifetime, making an indelible mark not only on the history of Ferrari, but on the history of the automobile itself.

The latest addition to this family, the F80, is tasked with embodying the ultimate in engineering for an internal-combustion-engined vehicle and employs all the most advanced technological solutions, including latest-generation hybrid technology for the powertrain, to achieve unparalleled levels of power and torque. Every aspect of the architecture is conceived to maximise performance, from the carbon-fibre chassis and extreme aerodynamic solutions far beyond anything seen before in a road-legal car, to the new active suspension optimised to let the driver wring every ounce of performance from the car on the track.

Unlike anything else in the current supercar world, the F80 combines all these attributes with uncompromising levels of usability on the road, where it can be driven with ease. This ability shaped every choice made in terms of technology and architecture to achieve the goal, which at first sight seems impossible, of creating a track-oriented supercar that’s just as driveable as a production range model.

All this means that the driver will spend even more time in the car and can truly get to know and revel in its performance and the thrilling driving experience it offers. The architecture of the F80 is so extreme

that the layout chosen results in a narrower cabin with a driver-centric layout, which nonetheless still offers excellent space and comfort for a passenger. This choice had crucial benefits in terms of minimising drag and weight.

The cockpit area therefore has a distinct single-seater feel, despite the fact that the car is homologated for two occupants, resulting in a architecture that we could call “1+”. The primary reason for this choice was to minimise width, to the benefit of aerodynamics (with less drag) and weight saving. This concept is completely in keeping with the motorsport world from which this car not only draws inspiration but also inherits technological solutions.

As has always been the case with the Ferrari supercars preceding the F80, the powertrain is based on the finest expression of technology in motorsport. The GTO and F40 were powered by a turbo V8, because Formula 1 cars used turbocharged engines in the 1980s. Today in both Formula 1 and the World Endurance Championship (WEC), powertrains

consist of turbo V6 ICE engines mated with an 800 V hybrid system. It was only natural then that this architecture - the same architecture used by the 499P, which has taken two consecutive victories at the 24 Hours of Le Mans - would be transferred into the new F80.

Here though the powertrain is further complemented by the introduction, for the first time ever on a Ferrari, of electric turbo technology (e-turbo), which, with an electric motor installed between the turbine and compressor of each turbo, allows for an extraordinary specific power output and instantaneous response from low down in the rev range.

Aerodynamics play a key role on the F80, with solutions such as the active rear wing, rear diffuser, flat underbody, front triplane wing and S-Duct working in concert to generate 1000 kg of downforce at 250 km/h. This result is further enhanced thanks to the active suspension, which contributes directly to generating ground effect. Performance is boosted by the electric front axle, which brings four-

wheel drive capability to make even more effective use of the torque and power on tap, and the new brakes with motorsports-derived CCM-R Plus technology.

As with all the supercars preceding it, the F80 marks the start of a new design era for Ferrari, with a more tense, extreme design language accentuating its race-bred soul. There are clear references to cues borrowed from aerospace, which underscore the cutting-edge technology and elegant engineering of each and every technical solution. But there are also nods to its hallowed progenitors which clearly declare the illustrious lineage of the F80.
