THE THIRD CULTURE: BY ANTONIO ROBLES ORTEGA
“ The Third culture “ is an essay written by Antonio Robles Ortega , a philosophy teacher well known in Granada for its wide professional and personal trajectory. When it comes to culture there is still a great controversy which is deeply analysed in this essay . The notion that humanism pretend to impose itself on the sciences is no longer well founded , there is no argument of weight which proves that humanities do not need a scientific vision . This is the reason why there is an urgent need of a new and third culture that can put humanities and sciences together within a natural philosopical context. It should be mentioned that Europe is struggling with a constant cultural crisis where procastination and faulty communication are becoming serious issues to deal with. There is a noticeable lack of real time and truthful information provided by the media and the most successful television programs are shows like big brother that encourage everything but effort and good communication skills.
It is clear that the world is facing a new sociocultural framework where negativity, suspicion and scepticism may be consecuences of austerity as a collateral effect of the political inability to ensure a prosperous future for adolescents. There is no success without effort , this is a wrong theory hardly believed by many people who consider that the best thing to do is to take part in a talen show in order to make a living from it. The essay written by Antonio Robles Ortega demands strong attention , it is a sharp review of a banalised society unable to evaluate the quality of leisure and culture it demands with alarming submission.
