Bulawayo Designer Gets Dirty With Dye For a Purpose

ndwangu is a fashion brand founded by Mthoe Sibanda from the city of Kings and Queens. The Brand’s name derives from the term ‘Ilembu’ (fabric). And it’s motto is ‘Sesiyanxiba’ ,meaning about to fit all this. Sibanda said the brand ‘s motto derives from a xhosa language . One of the most trended product ,produced by the Indwangu brand are the dyed Shirts . It’s one of the products which he learnt when he was pursing at Polytechnic College in Bulawayo,where he was studying a diploma in Fashion . “It’s skills that I learnt at college and it’s fun and interesting to dye fabrics . People often are amazed as they try to figure out how I conduct my work,”he said. Indwangu brand founder invited,the Model guide mag to a workshop which he said, the brand will be revealing the process on how they dye their shirt. Sibanda said he is going to reveal the date of the workshop. Besides getting dirty with dye the brand is a unisex brand it focuses on both man and women’s wear. Sibanda who showcased last year at Intwasa Arts Festival . Is hoping to present his brand at Zimbabwe Fashion Week and Durban Fashion July. “I am a versatile designer but my classmate would say am an avant grade person . Sibanda started his journey in the fashion industry at a tender age and he further obtained his education at Bulawayo Poly Tech .
