o you have that awkward empty wall in your home that you think, “One day I’ll find just the right piece?” This article is for you! Using reclaimed cabinets doors from the Louisiana Flood of 2016 we created four identical cabinets. Then we set out to demonstrate the versatility of changing trim, hardware and finish to suit individual tastes, while bringing the maximum impact with a tiny footprint. It took a quick trip to the hardware store for supplies and just a few hours to transform them into individual works of art, using techniques from the previous
issue’s (October-December 2018) DIY project. We then paired each cabinet with decorating elements from around the house. So, by utilizing different styles of legs, hardware, and your boldest expression of color, you can turn that boring wall into your own masterpiece!
A bold use of color that can be intimidating, this classic red was inspired by an Asian-themed furniture piece in our home which my sister adores. MODERN GRACE
