A story that brings us close to the big musical works of all times, so that we can discover that all the joy, beauty, peace and love that we often seek outside ourselves are actually part of our basic nature. Once we discover this, we will be able to start living in harmony with ourselves and with the need of projecting that harmony outside ourselves, towards the others, our fellow men. In this way, we will help create a world in harmony, a world in peace.

20th Anniversary The Angel of Music is a project that first saw the light in 1993 and whose aim is to help us live together in harmony, so that we can achieve peace in the world. The way to make this possible –one of the many ways there are– is through the great works of
ing the enriching experience of making music. Each of them tries to help in making this a better world so that we can all live together peacefully. They do so by playing music, while the Angel of Music project does so through what music awakens in every one of us when we listen to it.

We are not alone It is worth mentioning that we are not alone in this search for peace in the world. An example is the West-Eastern Divan Orchestra founded by Daniel Barenboim and Edward Said, which is made up of Israeli and Palestinian musicians, among others, and whose aim is to promote peace and understanding between Palestine and Israel. We can also mention the children and youth orchestras created by José Antonio Abreu in Venezuela, which have been replicated in many other parts of the world, as it is currently happening in our country. The aim of these orchestras which in most cases are made up of children from marginal areas- is that its members could restore values such as equality and cooperation based on the principles of coexistence within the orchestra, shar-
The great musical works help us get to know ourselves We believe that, undoubtedly, music –in all its varieties– stirs sensations and feelings. If we think of popular music, and specifically of trendy music, we realize that all those fashion trends have musical themes that are an invitation to dance and remind us of special moments that we have lived and aroused all kinds of sensations and feelings in us. Almost certainly we will be deeply moved if we listen to our National Anthem when we are abroad. Similarly, what we know as “classical music”, which is actually the music that has gone beyond the boundaries of time and countries, music that has transcended fashion and in which not only Beethoven and Bach stand out but also Piazzolla, Gershwin, Ariel Ramírez and so many others- also awakens in us feelings and sensations. What happens is that this music, as Dr. Guillermo Jaim Etcheverry,
one of our great Argentine thinkers would say “communicates with that special internal quality that all human beings share”. The effect of music is not superficial, it reaches deep into our inner selves. This is the reason why this kind of music transcends time. Not because there are marketing campaigns that aim to perpetuate this kind of music or because the means of communication help turn them into trendy “hits". Music transcends time because it evokes eternity, awakening unknown inner dimensions within ourselves. And, once again quoting Dr. Jaim Etcheverry: “music helps us get to know ourselves better”. And, this knowledge of ourselves that music provides, stirs in us deep emotions, which allow us to discover special sensations that elevate us spiritually – because those feelings are housed inside ourselves and are awaken by music. Music can take us to the deepest parts of our selves and can arouse love at its fullest expression, beauty in all its splendor, intense joy and immeasurable peace. When we realize that everything we are looking for outside ourselves - be it love, beauty, joy and peace- is actually inside ourselves, we will begin to live harmonically and with the need of letting that Harmony reach the others, that is, our fellow men. Thus, once we become aware of our true essence, all we have to do is to express it on every occasion, at all times.
No titanic efforts are needed but just small actions. Only then, will we be able to build a world in harmony, a world of peace.
The Angel of Music project reminds us of the great thinkers and philosophers of all times The Angel of Music project brings to our minds great philosophers like Plato and Aristotle, who, according to Cindy Bolandi, “thought that music was necessary to discipline the mind and that certain melodies were more appropriate than others to elicit feelings of harmony, order and kindness". This Project also reminds us of the remarkable philosophers of more recent times, such as Schelling, Schiller or Schopenhauer, who highlighted the transcendental power of the works of art. Nowadays, in this outline of great thinkers, which includes Guillermo Jaim Etcheverry, who we have already mentioned, we can also call our attention to Sergio Sinay, who quotes the following words by the Russian playwright Sofia Prokoffieva, “inside every human being, within his soul, there lies a very subtle sound, his personal musical note, which represents the uniqueness of his own self, his essence. If the sound of his acts does no coincide with that note, that person

cannot be happy. Sinay adds: “a person should tune his personal note to the self's note and not to the ego's”. Finally, we must remember the American philosopher Ken Wilber, one of the most distinguished Western philosophers
of our time. In his foreword to “The Mission of Art”, by Alex Grey, he states that “the art work reminds us of our own higher possibilities, our own deepest nature and our most profound ground , which we are all invited to rediscover”.
A proposal for adults and kids
A story to be lived
Even though this project is aimed at everybody, it is mainly directed at children and young people. They are the targets of the direct action, but, undoubtedly, adults will find interesting actions and spaces for them too. In fact, this proposal is aimed at all those persons who are able to awaken the “inner child” within themselves.
From the very beginning, it is made clear that this is fiction, a story, fantasy, but having a very important aim, an aim that is far from fiction and fantasy, because if we believe in it, if we are convinced that this may be possible, we will be able to make it real in our lives. That is why we need to participate in this story, a story to be lived as if it was really true. Just as it happens with Santa Claus or The Three Kings. In our illusion, they are really present when the special dates come. And we make this reality possible, through a gift, we convey meaning and reality to these popular characters that are so much loved by children and adults. By decorating the Christmas tree or placing our shoes so that The Three Kings leave us presents on them, the invisible becomes visible.
Two pieces of good news The central action of this Project is to help bring everybody closer to transcendental music. Considering that many people may not be familiar with this kind of music, the idea is to start this first approach with two pieces of good news: there is absolutely nothing to be understood in order to be able to enjoy this kind of music. It is not necessary to have previous knowledge of music, or of the composers or of the different musical styles. You must know nothing beforehand. The other piece of good news is that music should be approached through the pleasure it brings to listen to it, by leaving aside everything we do not enjoy and by focusing only in what really grabs our attention. This means that we will come closer to music by developing our taste and sensitivity just by listening to it, in the face of these works of art.
“Once upon a time…” The story tells us that Bellangelbond -the City State of the Angel of Music- travels on a huge white cloud across the skies over the Earth. The Angel of Music lives in that City State and is ready to accomplish his mission. Music is permanently played in the City thanks to the Musical Prism, which holds within itself all the music that has transcended time. Music must always
exist so that the Angel can live. Swansi, Druambi, Dramsel and Otsadán live in the City and all of them, but especially Otsadán, are responsible for checking that there is always music playing in the City so that the Angel never dies. Many characters from operas, musicals, ballet and musical theatre of all times also live in the City of the Angel. And so do the musical instruments, which are alive! And so does Lusdil, the interpreter of the Angel’s messages. The only contact of the City with the Earth is through its Embassies in our planet. Such is the case with the Embassy in Cariló on the Argentine Atlantic Coast, which was established by Lucrecia and Giovanni. Even though the Embassies communicate with the people by using the Internet, there is a special means of transport, the Musicmobile, which is very important to connect the City with the Embassies. The Musicmobile is a car that uses music as fuel and has four gears or movements: Andante, Adagio, Allegro y Presto. All the City residents as well as those working in its Embassies have the special task of helping the Angel accomplish his mission. However, it is Jubal – the City protector- who bears all the responsibility for this task. The Angel of Music has a very important mission to accomplish: to help and guide all human beings in the creation of a world where we can all live in harmony.
The only way The Angel can do this is through the great musical works that have persisted through time and transcended the lives of men: the Big Music.
How to become protagonists of the story In order to help the Angel accomplish his mission, the City Embassies offer the "Initial Interactive Guide" to all those persons who wish to be main characters in the story. This Guide includes a DVD with instructions on how to participate and, most importantly, to get started: a CD with musical works, not only by Bach and Beethoven but also by Ariel Ramírez and George Gershwin. The participants must listen to these recordings whenever they wish to do it and then they should tell Jubal, by mail, which musical work or works they enjoyed the most. Jubal, already knowing the sensitivity of the protagonists, will offer them a new gift, a new series of recordings where, they will most probably discover other musical works that they will like. They will feel that some musical pieces have something special for them, a certain "angel", and this is a clear sign that they have found The Angel of Music. Once again, Jubal will ask them to tell him about their preferences in the new selection of works. He will also tell them to describe how they imagine a peaceful
world in harmony and also to commit themselves in trying to build this special world on a daily basis. Once they give their answers to Jubal, the participants will be registered as new “Protagonists of the story” and will receive a welcoming message from the Angel. Jubal will also ask them to tell him about all the actions they perform every day - no matter how
small they may be - to start building the world they have dreamed of. These actions will be posted on the web site of the Angel of Music, and also in one of the social networks used by the Embassies. In that way, their actions will encourage many others to become protagonists of the story.

Collection of books of the City of Angel Within this ever-growing collection, we can find some books that give an account of what is going on in the City, as for example “ Lucrecia Meets the Angel” and the 10 chapters of the graphic novel “The Mute City”, as well as “The personalities of the orchestra instruments teach you how to share your life with others”.

The characters from operas, zarzuelas and ballet are among the City residents who want to help the Angel accomplish his mission. All of them are somewhat related to a musical work. They cannot do much by themselves because they are trapped inside the characters in the musical works. That is why they look for help in the Earth. The first to come to the Embassy was
Benvenutto Cellini, the main character of the opera by Hector Berlioz having the same name as the protagonist. He was a famous goldsmith who invited Mirta Bresser, a well-known plastic artist that lives on the Earth, to help him design a jewelry collection, with precious and semiprecious stones he especially chose, so that the people could become interested in one of the City mysteries: The Road of the 7 Stones. He had tried to unveil this mystery, the puzzle that those 7 elements conceal within themselves, and as the legend tells, gave rise to the City of Angel.
Helping the characters to be part of the story All the above along with the website including all the information of the different activities that the Embassy organizes, plus the presence of some of the story characters in the different social networks and mainly, the City Radio, which is always playing the music that is permanently listened to in the City and also broadcasting the news of what is going there, make it possible for the story characters to feel very close to the City State of the Angel of Music and of all its residents, to share and live with them this story very enthusiastically every day.
No utopia but a reality Meeting the Angel through the great works of music will certainly be fruitful. All those living this story may get to know themselves deeply, may discover the singularity and uniqueness within each of them and will be able to find the inner spiritual dimension that is the source of Love, Joy and Peace. They may discover the true path to living in harmony with themselves so as to help create a harmonious world.

Those who participated in these 20 years Many children and youngsters participated in these 20 years, responding to different invitations made by the Embassy of the City of the Angel of Music. On many occasions, the participants were invited by the Collegium Musicum of Buenos Aires and by the Instituto Pro Musica de Rosario. It is worth mentioning that many times the Colon Theatre of the City of Buenos Aires joined this initiative by supplying musical material recorded in its halls. The Big Music trascends by joining The Angel of Music In the year 2012, Moreno Condis Producciones unified two of its most important productions. The Big Music, the TV program that was aired on Channel 3 Rosario since its creation and that precisely in 2012 turned 30 years, joins The Angel of Music Project. The Big Music has as its main goal to bring the general public closer to the immortal works of music, emphasizing the idea that there is nothing to be understood to enjoy these musical pieces of all times. On the other hand, The Angel of Music Project saw the light 20 years ago and shared the same objective as the Big Music but added something else to it: the transcendental works of music are one of the paths that help us get to know ourselves, to discover our inner richness and consequently, to help us build a world in harmony.
