Nuestro 5˚ BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market tendrá como evento de apertura una masterclass exclusiva realizada por el cineasta nominado al Óscar, Ari Folman. Basándose en sus propias experiencias y en su singular e inquietante obra (‘Waltz with Bashir’, ‘The Congress’, ‘Where Is Anne Frank’), Folman abordará los problemas y las oportunidades de trabajar en procesos narrativos que circulen en distintos formatos, además de las posibilidades discursivas que ofrece la experimentación en el umbral entre el live-action y la animación. Tras décadas de constante trabajo, la obra de Ari Folman se ha caracterizado por emprender complejas búsquedas narrativas que requieren exploraciones formales únicas para poder ser contadas y desbordar los límites convencionales del medio del cine. Our 5th BFM - BOGOSHORTS Film Market will have as its opening event an exclusive masterclass by Oscar-nominated filmmaker Ari Folman. Based on his own experiences and his unique and intriguing work (‘Waltz with Bashir’, ‘The Congress’, ‘Where Is Anne Frank’) Folman will address the problems and opportunities of working on narrative processes that circulate in different formats, as well as the discursive possibilities offered by experimentation in the threshold between live-action and animation. After decades of constant work, Ari Folman’s work has been characterized by undertaking complex narrative and formal projects that overflow the conventional limits of the medium of cinema. That is how a documentary about the horrors of war and the struggle against oblivion took the form of one of the most powerful animated films of our millennium; an exploration of stardom and identity oscillates between our reality and an animated one; and the moving story of Anne Frank is told through a book, a graphic novel and a film..
