Message from the Department: Summer is on its way and brings its usual sense of excitement for all the possible adventures on the horizon. Every year, we strive to make summer even better than the previous years and this summer is no exception! Last year we included swim lessons for each child registered in Camp Wentzville to make their trips to the pool more enjoyable and equip them with a valuable skill. This summer, we are pleased to share that Camp Wentzville registration will also include ice skating lessons! With frequent trips to the Wentzville Ice Arena as part of their weekly schedule, adding ice skating lessons to this package will build confidence on and off the ice. We have also added a Camp Snack option to help campers stay fueled throughout the day! We continue to add value to our camp program. With the Wentzville Rec Center (WREC) opening this year, we continue to expand our programming and explore the possibilities that the addition of this new facility creates. ESports is one section of programming we have not utilized before and are thrilled to incorporate! In addition, the building will include a Creative Studio where guests can discover their artistic side with a variety of new tools that this space will offer.

REC PREMIER SOCCER Multiple Locations
Ages: 6-14
This program partners with the City of O'Fallon in developing a more competitive soccer playing experience, along with the services of CORE Soccer Training Director, Jamie Swanner, and his qualified staff. Our Rec Premier Soccer program is based on true small 4v4 game play with technical development along with the tactical awareness needed for the individual player. We will train on a specific skill each week for the first 15 minutes, then divide up for a 4v4 game split into two 20-minute-halves. Week one, we will introduce the 4v4 format as well as train. Weeks two through seven we will follow a progressive skill-enhancement program, then game play. We recommend players stay on their existing recreational league teams and utilize this league as a player-enhancement program. Player groupings may be mixed depending on skill level and gender. Each player will receive two jerseys and a sack pack in addition to training and game play. The location will alternate weeks between Heartland Park in Wentzville and Dames Park in O'Fallon.
