(continuing from page 7) ation in which you find yourself, you awaken even more to the Christ within. To speak of the Christ is to speak of the Beloved. If we speak of a love or a lover, we separate ourselves from that other form. And that separation is illusion, for ultimately you are one with all things. You are one with God. That is the message of the Christ today, just as it was two thousand years ago. Jesus said, “He that seeth me seeth him that sent me.” (John 12:45) And he also said, “The Father and I are one.” (John 10:30) Therefore, there can only be one form present. That form is God, who dwells within you, waiting to be awakened and freed front the bonds of the earth. The Christ consciousness is an ongoing Spirit. It is always present. When Jesus was about to be taken to his crucifixion, he spoke to the disciples and told them that, although they were not to go with him at that moment, he would leave with them a comforter, a witness, that was called the Holy Spirit, which would reveal to them all things and give to them the memory of what he had taught. The Holy Spirit is wholly Spirit, entirely Spirit. It is a complete energy form, not corrupted by any lower level of consciousness. It is pure. It is of the positive realms of pure Spirit; it is of God. We cannot know the Holy Spirit on any level of our earthly senses. We cannot perceive it physically, emotionally, mentally, subconsciously, or unconsciously. It comes only to that pure part of us which is the Soul, that which can hold the office of the Christ.

Was the Christ consciousness present prior to the time of Jesus? Of course, it must have been. It is that spark of God, that energy that keeps us all alive, that keeps us all going even when we want to die and think we’re going to and are afraid we really are. It’s life. It’s God. There were a lot of people walking around, knowing that spark of God inside, before Jesus came and manifested it in the great glory that he expressed. But that he fulfilled that promise more completely than anyone had before cannot be denied. And in bringing the power of the Holy Spirit into the earth’s force field and in tuning to the ascending energy of Spirit, he certainly used the power of the Christ in a way greater than it had been used before.

Jesus also stopped the Messianic delusion that was prevalent at that time. The Jews had expected a Messiah to appear for centuries, and there was much uproar about who it was and how he would manifest, etc. Jesus appeared on the scene and, in effect, said, “You don’t have to look any longer.” The Messiah consciousness ended with his form. And the Christ awakening began in all forms. How do you awaken to the Christ? Easy ... love your neighbor as yourself... or better than yourself, if you’re one that rips yourself emotionally or confuses yourself mentally or creates illness in your physical body. It’s when you let go of all those levels that you begin to discover the inner Christ. When you have exhausted those levels of the body, emotions, mind, subconscious, and unconscious, you begin to find that you are dwelling in the consciousness of the When that Spirit that is holy touches to your Christ. o awaken the Christ, go within your own inner consciousness where your emotions, mind and body will leave you alone for a little while. Find the peace and comfort that is within your own inner kingdom. Your inner journey will be protected by the Spirit that dwells within. You can reach into your inner kingdom through meditation, contemplation, prayer, spiritual exercises, by reading enlightening books, being with enlightened people, continually moving forward and awakening the love within you.

path. You may sacrifice some old friendships, if those people are expressing a downward path of energy. That’s being smart. You may find that you stop doing those things that make you sick physically. You may change your diet, stop smoking, get a job that makes you happy and fulfilled, find relationships that support you and people with whom you can share love. These things are healthy. If you don’t want to change, that’s okay, too. You can sleep a little longer. It’s all your choice.

Christmas is a good time of year to take stock of your life. And it’s a good time of year to complete old actions that have been left “hanging.” It’s a good time to share your love with those you care for; it’s a good time of year to pay off your debts, to clear the air, to attune yourself more closely than ever to the Christ within you ... and to the Christ in others. The Christ awakens according to your focus, your direction, and your attitude.

If you know what to do, why not do that? If you know what makes you ill or upset or in turmoil, why not turn from that? You are a creator, and you are responsible for your actions. So why not create those things that will bring you health, wealth, and happiness? Why not shift your focus to your own beingness, to that which brings you joy and fulfillment? As you awaken to the Christ, you will do those things that are right for you.

You can lift yourself out of darkness by stopping your complaining, your tears, your bemoaning and feeling sorry for yourself. Why not say instead, “I get along really well. God is with me. All my needs are being supplied. I’m loved, and I’m taken care of”? What if that’s wrong? It’s a nice approach; and you will create that for yourself, because you are a creator.

One way you can tell if you are functioning in the consciousness of the Christ is to see if you complete things in this world. If you do, you’re ascending. If you don’t, you’re descending. If you have too many jobs, too many things to do, cut out some of them. Be wise. Don’t take on more than you can handle. Take on just the things you can complete. Those things that are not completed are thrown right back at you, and you must take the responsibility for them. Christ is the perfect completer. If you strive toward perfection, the work you have started will be finished by the Christ. Your responsibility is to get on with the state of being perfect. Work toward it. Focus toward it. And when you leave the earth, the work will be completed. And you will perfectly arise into the heart of God. Jesus, our elder brother, promised this. And we can complete it and fulfill his promise.

The indwelling Christ sings a beautiful song. That is the Sound of God, the audible Light stream, the current of energy that is flowing upward to God. It’s the invisible route to God, and the only way to God is by that invisible route. The outward trappings of any religion or spiritual group are not for the Christ within, but for the body, mind and emotions-to hold them still and keep them distracted long enough for the Christ to awaken to itself.

To awaken the Christ, go within your own inner consciousness where your emotions, mind and body will leave you alone for a little while. Find the peace and comfort that is within your own inner kingdom. Your inner journey will be protected by the Spirit that dwells within. Dear Lord, we welcome You now to find us as we are. We surrender so that we will let go of our resistance and our fear. Particularly, what we have placed in our unconscious levels, no matter where it came from or how it developed, especially whatever we have forgotten from our past existence. Through our courage and willingness in this moment, we present ourselves freely and openly to You. This is our intention. To trust You is also our demonstration that we trust ourselves to be before You exactly as we are. We are surrendering. We are submitting to Your will, letting go of any attachments, taking this moment to release our life into You that however You want to change or direct us to be fully compliant in Your will, to understand You can do all things for greater good. We consciously are recognizing that it has been us who have placed the resistance, who have found the fault, who have chosen the darkness. Let us register what we can fully, right now no more. We stand up and rise up in our consciousness, in the truth of who we are, the strength of who we are, the blessing of who we are – we offer unto You. We recognize. We accept, and we choose to be servants of Your actions through the Divine will. You bring that forward into our life. Thank You for reminding us of how simple it is, that it begins in each moment, in each circumstance, in every little thing.

When we have done it to the least of the things that are Your creation, we have done it unto You. Let us love. Let us appreciate. Let us see the value that You have placed in each and every thing. Let all things serve Your purpose. As we come into completion with each and every thing, we accept Your movement, Your presence and direction to move forward, to lift, to learn and to grow. We let go of what no longer serves, to let it be. Yes, to leave this world be so that we are done with it. So we come with fresh eyes, a new ability to look into our life and to those who are close to us and in every situation, and see the harmony and see the peace. We appreciate what You have done for us. We come with a smile more often. We come into a dark situation with the willingness to give, to bring joy and comfort. In our offering here that represents sacrifice, we give up our demands. We give our attachments away. We give away what we want that we might fully embrace what You want. We find in Your embrace, in the way You look upon us, You want us just as we are without our falseness, without our pretense, without our illusions that express into the negativity. Again we ask for Your grace, Your direction, that at this time, this place, this decision becomes a life that we live. We accept the fulfillment that You bring to us. We are complete in You. It is done.

hen relating to negativity, we can choose to move away from confusion and into understanding. Then with whatever is appearing to us, there is an opportunity to be conscious of our true state, our spiritual nature. Then we can look at what appears to be the discord and the conflict in the world — what appears to be negativity, or disturbance — from a higher view. It’s what we do with our awareness that becomes really important in the moment.

You can identify yourself

either as being in discord or in accord with the Lord. That’s something to be aware of as your choice. You choose. You need to be conscious of who you are and what you’re identifying with. That awareness allows you to be conscious of things that appear contrary or as negativity that could move you into discord. It’s your choice to move back into accord.

you’re a radiant being. You’re a creative being in this world. That energy can go out from you because you’re making the choice as a creator to ask yourself, “What am I relating to? What am I identifying with? What am I transmitting?” Your choosing to be in accord will play out in ways where, at the very least, you can be silent and quiet. That may not look like you’re doing anything. But one of the greatest ways we can contribute is by exercising spirit or doing spiritual exercises. That’s another way of saying we’re choosing into the spirit. If you see somebody in againstness or violence or expressing negatively, you can choose to relate to them in your spiritual nature and transmit your accord. I’m not talking about something that’s necessarily easy. Our spiritual accord is something that is challenged with quite a lot in the world. Something may appear to us as againstness. Or maybe it’s just simply, “I don’t like this, or I don’t want this, or this isn’t what I expected.” It could be that simple. Consider what discord has to do with the state of the world. It’s our attachments that disturb us. We are attaching to things that are really nothing in relation to the accord. If we take out that sense of attachment to the negativity, we find out that all disturbance that we issue out of our consciousness is not necessary. We can bring ourselves into the accord. There’s a seminar that John-Roger did quite some time ago called, “What is the One Accord?” (DVD-7222). The seminar is about the time of the Christ when Jesus had gone, and the disciples, those who were involved closely with him, were gathered in something referred to as the Upper Room. The One Accord came upon them. It’s also been called the Pentecost when Holy Spirit appeared as though flames were above their heads. At that time, there was a realization amongst them of something greater. They had an awareness of being in the accord. When I read that passage in the Bible, there’s something about it that isn’t explained in what’s

written. There’s something that happened that is a spiritual blessing or a spiritual miracle. At the time, there was discord amongst the disciples. Part of that was they were trying to work out, “What do we do now after the head guy left? How do we work that out?”

How can we move into the accord? By cooperating and serving. When we are assisting someone, there is a sharing and caring that transmits. We are simply providing a reflection that in some way the assistance is about seeing what is better, what is greater, what heals, and what nurtures.

Some of the concern was, “Do we survive? Do we break up and split up and go our separate ways rather than to be part of the persecution?” A questioning and a doubting occurred about what took place. So in the midst of what came forward as a one accord and a presence of the Holy Spirit touching onto each one, there was a doubting, a fearing, and a questioning about what was taking place and whether it was real. But the experience of being in accord was still present within.

One of the tests in this world is to relate to the negativity through our service. In that way, the negative power is our friend because it teaches. It teaches us our responsibility. It teaches where we choose separation when we do not have to and it’s not the truth of our beingness. You are the one making the adjustment yourself. You are choosing to move into the oneness through your loving service. So keep that in mind whenever you feel lost or separate. Choosing oneness with all and loving service takes tremendous vigilance because the ability of the negative power is through whatever’s negative. It humbles us on a personal level to realize that the negativity and discord can come at us in so many dimensions and different ways. Through our personal abilities alone, we can’t handle it. Yet, we’re affected by it. No one is exempt even though we may want to be exempt. We’re all vulnerable to the negativity, and that provides the opportunity to move into greater strengths and wisdom. It is through our awareness and choice to relate to all in oneness and loving service that we find the one accord.

There’s always an opportunity to touch in spiritually to what’s going on. It takes willingness to do that. It can be something that may cause you to pause, hold or stop because whatever’s going on has disturbed you physically or psychically and you’re aware of that. If you allow the negativity to come into your consciousness and take up residence, depending on to what degree and how deep that runs in your choice level, there are always opportunities to clear whatever that is by choosing into the spirit. You may realize, “Why don’t I just let go of the disturbing way I’m relating to what’s going on? I can You don’t have to get upset. If you have an interaction that disturbs you and you don’t get over it, then you’ll be out of balance. You’ll feel it inside you and you may carry it around all day. But does that make your day better?

It’s not that the perfection suddenly moves. Whatever happens, whatever the content or It’s not like, “Okay, now there’s perfection. Oops, the subject, you can handle it. Something bad is going to happen,” then your perception is separation from that place of divine perfection within. And your life is bound to reflect that to you until

I suggest you say, “Yes,” even if there’s great protest amongst your inner thoughts and feelings. You may argue with yourself, “No, I’m not. I’m not very loving. There’s all sorts of evidence about when I’m not loving.”

I am often reminded of the exampleship of Jesus on the Cross when he said, “Forgive them for they

Being a Walking Blessing

By our nature, we are hallowed ground. We are blessed. We are the Lord, we are the Christ, we are the Traveler. We are one with God.

We can shift our awareness so we are more conscious of this. We feel the vibration of that majesty. We can shift our awareness so that this is activated. Activated, so it is an energy field. Activated, so that when you walk into a room, you hallow its ground.

I find that it’s very natural, very ordinary, as if the Lord was in the room: “in the flesh”, as Jesus spoke of it. How would we know that presence? It would be very much like us, and yet there is joy. There is peace. There’s sweetness. There’s ease in the nature. Some things would be amazing, because it starts transcending the lower nature.

But it’s not something weak. How would the Lord confront someone who is trying to bother or disturb, or afflict or destroy? How would the Lord respond to that? Living and Dying with J-R An Interview with Jsu Garcia (Jsu Garcia was John-Roger’s friend, personal assistant, bodyguard, driver, gofer, ice cream liaison—and anything else J-R wanted—from 1988 - 2014.)

Jsu: I worked for J-R for twenty-six years. It was

ittle miracles. . . are what it’s all about working with J-R. When you’re prompted inwardly and you have this baton of light energy with you, it’s amazing. You just know that you have a calling to do what you do, and you do a lot of listening inside.

Everybody is different in MSIA, and in how they relate to J-R on the inner. So I’m not special. I just did more time with J-R on the physical. 20

NDH: So what’s it like working for J-R? unbelievable. There’s nothing better. I think Michael Feder, who also worked for J-R once, said, “It doesn’t get any better than this.”

It’s been three months since I lost my best friend. I’m also in love now. I fell in love with Nicole. So simultaneously I think, “Wow I’m in love,” and “Wow, I’m grieving. I’m in pain.” I’m working through all that as I go back and remember everything that happened with J-R.

as my flock. My attitude was, I’m working for J-R, something happened to one of our people, I’m going to get that phone back. And we got the phone back. I talked to an Arab guy who was the head of the area where kids were pickpocketing, and he really spanked them. And a couple of days later we were at his house for dinner, a beautiful place overlooking Jerusalem. Little miracles like that are what it’s all about working with J-R. When you’re prompted inwardly and you have this baton of light energy with you, it’s amazing. You just know that you have a calling to do what you do, and you do a lot of listening inside. Everybody is different in MSIA, and in how they relate to J-R on the inner. So I’m not special. I just did more time with J-R on the physical. I’m proud of that, and I hope there’s more I can do, but I have good self-esteem about the whole experience. J-R used to say to me, “You have a lot of vanity. You can turn that into valor.” And I think I know what that is. I’m still vain, but I don’t need applause or a reward. I don’t need to be in an MSIA Bible. The one thing that moves me is when someone says, “Thank you.”

Probably the greatest thing was the Light Tour to Israel last September. We spent a whole month there. That was the most amazing trip. It was one of the most dynamic things I’ve ever experienced. I don’t know what it’s like to be a Traveler who holds keys, but I do know what it’s like when he gives you the baton. When J-R would give me the baton, it was being like Harry Potter. You can do anything. Sometimes I would even stretch to see how far I could go. For example, someone had their phone stolen on the Mount of Olives in Jerusalem. When I heard about Probably my favorite time was when it was just it I was really upset. I thought, “How can they steal me and J-R. A lot of it was up at Windermere and from my people?” I thought of everyone on the trip at J-R’s house nearby at Miracielo. We’d be watch-

ing TV up there, or driving late at night, listening huge or tsunami-like, but more about my own proto these weird radio shows about UFO’s, or Chris- cess. It because J-R was telling me. was as though all universes went in and out of him. When you walked into the house, you would peek through the kitchen and into the living room and think, “Wow, I’m so glad to be home.” All your karma or whatever crap you were going through would just go away, because he’s just pure love.

NDH: I always had that sense that he could just eat whatever karma was there.

Jsu: He didn’t say, “Come here, let me get that off

you.” It was just an automatic thing that would happen around him. Sometimes J-R would just touch you somewhere and all of a sudden it would lift you.

and then when I moved into J-R’s house I recognized him. It was like, “There’s that old man again.” There was an American Indian, a Japanese guy, and others. His cadence would change and sometimes they’d be unfamiliar with what was going on. They sometimes didn’t know where we were, or would ask, “Who are you?” Nat and I would be cracking up. The old man was my favorite…and there was also some Biblical guy that would come down. Sometimes he’d want One time we were getting ready to head out of to eat but didn’t know what the food was, or would town with J-R and we were all ready to go some- ask, “What is that, water?” Then that person would where. J-R kept telling me “no” and I kept getting go to bed and J-R would wake up as himself and say, ready. You have to understand that a lot of the time “What’s going on? ilently, I asked for the Traveler to place a column of Light there; and yet I did not know if that was presumptuous. But I guess the Traveler would know. The whole area was bright with extra lights and everyone was quiet and reverent, which created the feeling of an outdoor cathedral.

had an appointment at Sydney Eye Hospital, which is close to Martin Place, at 8.30 am on the day of the incident, and he was done about 9:30 am. He was going to stop for a cup of coffee, but rang home and I asked him to come home so we could go shopping together and have that “cuppa.” He did. Otherwise he would have been in the vicinity of that event at the time. This is just a small testimony that as we place our loved ones in the Light for the Highest Good each day and night, they are protected. Neat, eh? After the event, thousands of people visited Martin Place, placing flowers there in what would become a sea of bouquets. The day after the attack Alan and my brother Doug and I attended a Christmas Concert in the Sydney Town Hall where his wife Anne was in a choir. It was a combination of regional choirs, a harpist, the Official Organist of the majestic organ, a perfect Soprano plus the Naval Band. it was simply wonderful. After the concert I asked Alan to walk with me to Martin Place, about five blocks away. My intention was actually to go to the area to ask Traveler John to place a Light Column there. It never occurred to me that what I was doing would create any interest. I even kept this silent from Alan as it is sacred.

Nonetheless it was his curiosity that enabled him to walk there with me. We walked to Martin Place to see the area that had been on TV for the whole day before. It was quite late but people were still gathering in silent prayers and laying flowers, writing in the record books and praying. Even the dividing wall separating the crime scene began to be studded with flowers. Everyone seemed to be moving in reverence, some with passion and determination to participate. I saw one lady walking her dog with her to place her flowers. Silently, I asked for the Traveler to place a column of Light there; and yet I did not know if that was presumptuous. But I guess the Traveler would know. The whole area was bright with extra lights and everyone was quiet and reverent, which created the feeling of an outdoor cathedral. Some people had their own candles as well for their personal vigil. Even the security people were moving quietly. No one was asked to move on at all. It was a very touching experience, and I felt grateful that the mission was accomplished. As my prayer was sent up a great blanket of silence and stillness came. The presence of Spirit and Peace and Healing were tangible. This continued for the rest of the time that the tributes were left there. It was a great blessing for all those who had faith and love to share.

An Interview with Doreen Dietsche By David Sand

She’s doing amazing job with facilitating the class—our students love her. And, of course, we have to give a Light-filled “shoutout” to Julie Lurie, who’s really led the way with leveraging technology to make the Traveler’s teachings available online. What a lot of folks don’t know is that Julie “burns the midnight oil” to get the class recordings edited and uploaded online so students can watch them while LA is sleeping. Our whole team is abundantly grateful to them both for their support. Of course, we have a mammoth team of volunteers supporting the DSS. We have our DSS translation team who are translating materials, seminars and the live class weekends. We have a reader team of 60 volunteers all over the world and who are integral to supporting each one of our students. We also have many volunteers from the NOW crew assisting us before and during the class weekends, like Richard Price and Arissa Bright. During the class weekends, we have a tech crew and a room team and we’re blessed to have Cindy Heistand holding the focus as our Team Captain. I would love to name everyone who’s involved with making this class happen but they know who they are, right down to our remote Spanish-speaking “Maestro assistant” for those times we have an odd number of Spanish students in Maestro.

We are holding a picture of students being able to participate in “class experiences” (i.e., less lecturettes and more of the student having an experience with living the teachings and observing their expansions and learnings). We are even playing around with the idea of student’s being able to design their own “class experience” with the teachings based on a unique intention they have. There are so many possibilities and it’s a lot of fun to be co-creating these “wow experiences” with Spirit. It’s such a great time to be on the Traveler’s team, for sure!

NDH: Are there plans to put other PTS classes online?

Doreen: Yes. This is going to be so amazing. We’re

going to start having self-paced undergraduate classes online. You would go through these classes on your own, at your own pace. You would see video recordings of lecturettes, and demos, and there would be processes to do on your own. Of course, the J-R seminars and audio excerpts that are the foundation of all PTS curriculum will be embedded in the class. With the self-paced classes, you would have an online reader who would be holding the Light for you and reviewing your class assignments and ministering to you as a loving observer. As long as you have a computer, you can plug into these classes. We’ll also have live online undergraduate PTS

We’ll also be creating mini-curriculums so that if someone wants to immerse themselves in the Traveler’s teachings through the PTS undergraduate curriculum, they could do something that’s similar to a major in college. But as far as the teachings go, it’s really more like an “immersion” in a specific area of the teachings. Let’s say I want to immerse myself in PTS undergraduate classes that have to do with the Traveler, or the Christ, or Health, or the Levels of Consciousness. There would be a series of classes on that are that you would complete and they might fall in a particular order that’s similar to beginning, intermediate, advanced. All of these mini-curriculums would start with you setting an intention. And then they would complete with you designing a class experience that’s present for you and is a culmination of your experience going through the minicurriculum. So it’s not just a series of classes, but it includes an actual experience with the Traveler (or Christ or Spirit) you want to have. You get to design it. As an example for the mini curriculum on the Christ Consciousness you could a class experience

on “Living the Christ’s Compassion”. Maybe I have a relationship that’s challenging for me and I want to bring forward more compassion in this relationship. One of the teachings that caught my attention when I was going through the curriculum on the Christ consciousness was “Home is where the spirit of Christ reigns eternally, and that is the loving heart” (which is a J-R quote, by the way) and so I decide I’m going to focus daily on being in my loving heart extending Christ’s compassion with this person. Using a Traveler’s teaching from the classes I’ve completed supports my focus. Maybe I’ll ask every morning in my S.E.’s how I can extend compassion from my loving heart into this relationship that day. It could be that simple, or it could be a series of things. It’s wide open. And each student will have a reader who can work with them, looking at the class experience they are designing, sharing their observations and holding the Light.

NDH: When will this be coming online? Doreen: We are hoping to begin rolling out the

PTS undergraduate curriculum in 2015. Our primary focus right now is supporting the DSS year 1 online, which has been an incredible online adventure with the Traveler, but now that it’s up and running, we’ll have more time to devote to the undergraduate online curriculum. In the next three to five years we hope to have the majority of the undergraduate classes up and running. We are also

looking at when we can realistically bring the MSS class online as well as create subscription classes that have already been recorded, such as IHOP and this current round of DSS year 1 classes.

NDH: There’s been so much information and so

many classes that have been available only at certain times or in certain places. Now we’re going to have all of that available to people all over the world.

Doreen: It is so exciting to see how it’s all show-

ing up. I consider myself super blessed to see how Spirit is bringing this forward. The Traveler brought forward so much information and tools to support our individual journeys and there’s going to be so many new ways to plug in and participate. It’s going to take our ministerial family to come forward to serve in new roles as our online undergraduate faculty (serving as online facilitators and online readers). We will also be building a special PTS online support team to work with our undergraduate faculty and also our undergraduate students because they will be experiencing ptswisdom. org site in a new way. am opening my heart to myself, sacrificing my arrogance and reclaiming my innocence. And in doing that, I am becoming more of me, and less about me.

I know this journey is not really a road. It’s a place I already am, just not fully awakened to yet. But it feels like a road or a path to me. My road to my Divinity takes many forms. Sometimes it’s like a lane on a farm where the ruts are so deep it’s difficult to change course. Other times it’s a very scenic highway that is so amazing it can take my breath away. grace, it is there. When I need love, it shows up. And when I think I am in charge, I am humbled. I see all the teachers that have been in my life. Some I recognized at the time. Others I recognize now. Through their sandpapering, through their reflections of me in them I have grown. Despite my best efforts to stay the same. I am in gratitude and loving for these people along the way. Some are still with me. Others are with me only in my heart. Many are still to come. I thank you all. I am embracing my limitations, understanding my motivations and seeing the times I’m not so pure of heart. I am letting go of the need to defend or justify and now can simply say, “Yes, this is me.” Or, “Yes, I did that.” And doing this I find that I am doubting less and trusting more. All the while my Soul is saying, “Remember.. Remember you are safe to be who you are.” I see how often I have let doubt and discouragement be my guide and keep me small. I see the times that fear was in control and I stayed silent. I have become aware of the times when the victim in me would rob me of my power, or when I simply gave it away to another. And all the while my Soul is saying… “Remember… Remember you’re a lion, not a lamb.”

I am embracing all those lost and disenfranchised parts of me that had been left behind, those orphans who have gone unclaimed due to my confusion and ignorance. One by one they are detaching themselves from the past, from those situations where they were stuck in shock or fear or rage, or simply because they thought that’s where they belonged. One by one they are returning to the Light, to the Loving, some running with arms out, others returning a bit grudgingly asking, “Where the hell have you been?” But, one by one they are returning. I am becoming real and much loved… like in the book The Velveteen Rabbit. I am opening my heart to myself, sacrificing my arrogance and On the road to my Divinity I discovered that reclaiming my innocence. Many of us were witness to the beautiful, powerful process of our friend Ken Jones’ passing from this world in 2010, and the way he and his wife Carol engendered support from the MSIA community at the time. I interviewed Kenny for the NDH when he was in the process of his illness and wanted to revisit the subject again now with Carol, to find out about her journey and the book that she has written about it. Carol has been exploring and holding a focus for peaceful and joyful end-of-life transition in various ways since then. We met again in her cozy room at Prana.

ny and it’s reminding me that I had a dream about him this morning in s.e.’s. I looked into those amazing blue eyes and with glee in my own eyes, I said, “You’ve come back!” It was just a very deep moment to capture those eyes again. And I’m not surprised he should make himself available before this interview. People tell me he has come to others in their dreams to let them know he acknowledges their love for him and that contacting those who have passed over can be real.

you have cancer. Even the radiologist was daunted by it. Kenny asked, “Can you help me?” And he said, “I don’t know if we can, but we’ll try.” We walked away from that in a daze. But on his way out of that office Kenny turned back and said, “Maybe I’ll be the Burzynski poster child.” Which was really typical of him in his optimistic view. That’s a lot of what I wrote about in the book. And I think that’s what helped him pass from this world in a really peaceful and joyful way.

KM: I’ve been reading the book and remembering and relationships, and maybe an overview, that what you said about the clinic and how he really kept a focus that he would get well, until he said, “I’m not sure if I’m gonna make it.” I think that’s a process that a lot of people who have illness will go through. First they say “Well you know I’m gonna fight this, I’m gonna get better,” And then at some point they come to saying, “Well, no I’m not. I’m not going to come out of this healthy.”

til they came forward, and when they did, I sort of wrung their necks until I was done wringing, and delved as deeply as I could into the excavation of each chapter’s story. And then finally his oncologist mentioning for the third time that there is hospice as the final alternative. In March, Kenny jumped on that. He said “That’s what I wanna do.” And I was just a puddle at that point, because finally reality was setting in. But what I really want to share is the power of writing. Many of the lessons didn’t come to conscious awareness until I started writing. The writing process, oh my God, it is just so amazing because it starts opening up memories and pathways and understandings that weren’t coming to me by just ruminating in my mind. The writing became a therapeutic tool of unveiling, unraveling, revealing, resolving and coming to peace with my profound loss, and finally my own transformation in consciousness. It would only come through the actual task of writing. And I was compelled from then on, with the support of people who were reading the blog, to continue to write until I had no more stories to tell. And so that’s why there’s a whopping fifty-five chapters in the book. Because I wrote about every single powerful experience I could remember, and there were so many.

CJ: Oh my gosh, so many. But the

most important learning was about how Kenny and I came together as people who had a pocketful of personality issues to work out. And we of course were doing the best we could at any given moment. But there were lots of limitations. And a lot of that was based in fear of losing each other. So there was a lot of avoiding our own personal issues to “save” the relationship. He said, “I don’t know what Spirit has in store for me. I will keep breathing as long as Spirit gives me breath. And if melanoma absolutely must claim my body it can have it. Melanoma cannot go where I go because I go into the pure Spirit of the Soul realm. That is my true home.” That was one quote. And the other that was just as poignant was during a conversation with John Morton and Leigh Taylor-Young Morton when they came to visit just about seven days before he left. John said something like, “Well I see that your ministry is on fire. experience of comfort and knowing that someone was always there that we could depend on to be holding the spiritual focus, and to do anything we asked if we needed it. There is one chapter in the book called, “Standing in for God” that was written as an outstanding example of one of those ministers, Diana, who came to hold the Light in the middle of the night. And that happened to be the night that Kenny woke me up and startled me by saying, “Carol, tonight’s the night. I’m pretty sure I’m gonna go tonight.” I started fumbling, saying all kinds of things I could think of like, “Kenny, I love you, God bless you,” and he responded clearly, “Don’t try to hold me back!” This was profound in itself, and spoke of his focus on where he was going. Diana heard all that and stayed until she absolutely had to go in the early daylight hours of the morning. He actually lived another four or five days, but she was just right in there with us. In her giving of her heart, she’s the one that said, “I felt like I was standing in for God.” Oh, that was just so touching! My heart opened when I heard her say that, and to this day the connection is still there. I became so aware there is a community that really responds to each other on so many levels, even if we may not be conscious of it. It reminds me to share also that one Prana resident knew when Kenny was passing and sensed a chorus of angels was greeting him. Later on I heard from someone else that he knew when Kenny was passing, and how glorious the transition was. And his wife—though they hadn’t been conferring with each other—said the same thing! “I knew when Kenny was going.” I am so grateful to be part of that sacred connection, and try to give back as much as I possibly can. A number of people have passed since Kenny’s transition, and I made it my assignment to be available for Circle of Light whenever I could. After all J-R’s been teaching us for however many years it is now that all it is is walking through the door into the spiritual realms. And if we could dispel all the myths that have captured our imagination over our lifetime and apply J-R’s teachings, we could glimpse a little bit of the brilliance that death is.

KM: Right. It’s like the ultimate and final s.e.’s to me. CJ: I am working on a class for PTS that is tenta-

tively being called, “Joyful Transitions.” And I hope to get the essence of Kenny’s message (which is really the same as J-R’s message about death and dying) into that class and to help prepare us in a peaceful and joyful way for that passing.

KM: Thanks Carol, it’s nice sharing with you, in my

If you are just starting the Soul Awareness Discourses, Discourse #1 explains initiation into the Sound Current. You may choose to study the Discourses with the intention to be initiated on this path, or to simply read them as information. If you do choose to study toward initiation, the Traveler works with you more closely, and you may notice a greater spiritual awareness in your own consciousness as this work goes on. If you are studying toward initiation, you need to write and mail a letter to the Traveler that this is your intention. The MSIA Ministry The MSIA ministry is for initiates of the Traveler who are called inwardly to serve the spirit of their hearts. Sometimes people reading Discourses, especially those studying toward initiation, want to write to John Morton. Writing often helps you let go of a troubling situation and open more to the Traveler’s assistance inwardly. As soon as you write to John Morton, he gets the message on the spiritual levels, and they do what Spirit allows. Then, to let go of the situation in your consciousness, you burn or mail your letter. Whether you burn or mail what you wrote, you may find that you get your answers on the inner levels, sometimes very quickly. You may also experience greater calm, clarity, or peace, which can help you go through whatever challenges you face. We suggest that you place the situation in the Light, ask for clarification during s.e.’s, dreams, etc., and then look for the answers within you. I’ve had people tell me, “Oh, when J-R went I felt it but I’m back to work now and everything’s OK.” For me, it’s like I hit a brick wall. I’m not in a rush and I’m taking care of myself. It’s bizarre being able to sleep in the mornings. The first couple of weeks I was like, “Wait a minute, J-R needs me. I think he’s up.” And people would call and ask, “Hey man, do you want to go out?” and I’d be like, “Wait a minute, let me check with J-R.” That’s what I had in my repertoire. Now I don’t have to check with J-R, but I check inside.

NDH: Because I wasn’t physically close to J-R like

you were, there’s not a grieving in my basic self. But the loss for me is the energy outside of me. So my body and my basic self are OK, but in my consciousness the world is different. For you, your immediate surroundings are different, and inside of you is different. For me, J-R wasn’t tied to the basic self like that, but he was always around me in the world, and now it’s like he’s not around me in the world the way he was. So if I go “out” and focus on the outer world, I can feel that loss. So it encourages me to go inside more.

Jsu: For me I’d have to live on the moon to not have

that outer association. Everything reminds me of J-R in the outer. It’s kind of like PTSD. You wake up with nightmares and sweating, horrible things. It felt like someone blew up something in a terrorist attack, and I’m looking for my legs, going around dazed. It’s deep in everybody. Definitely having friends and loved ones with you helps. I think J-R talked about how he buried his Mom or his Dad and then went back and did a seminar. That’s unbelievable. I love looking at J-R photos and memorabilia, and that ties me back into the energy and comforts me. They anchor me and make me feel great. But something that’s written, like the newspaper obituaries, still bothers me. Seeing a newspaper clipping that says, “John-Roger, spiritual teacher, dead at 80,” gets me really bad.

NDH: That outer “truth” that’s in the newspapers

has an unreality to it because he didn’t really die. So reading it is like hooking into a false belief.

Jsu: My basic self is definitely traumatized. But I

never think of anything as separate form me, or the basic self as separate from me. I don’t like saying that the basic self is upset and I’m not. It’s all me. But I loved caring for him. It was therapeutic for me. I always said I wish we could love others the way I loved J-R. I haven’t always been nice to people. And I apologize for that. There’s no excuse. And it was very hard to be taking care of J-R and you’re up all night, not sleeping much. So you get up the next morning and you’re cranky. There have been some casualties along the way with people’s hurt feelings. But I’m hoping that we can move on.

Directions & What to Bring to the Easter at the Beach Service Bring your FM radio and headset to hear the seminar. This is an outdoor seminar. You will not be able to hear without a radio. And, we also suggest to bring a blanket or chair to sit on, sunscreen and a hat.

Directions: From Prana or Downtown LA: The event is between Lifeguard Stations 22 & 24 Take the 10 West Freeway Exit at Lincoln and turn Left Go to Pico and turn Right Go to Ocean and turn Left. (When you turn Left on Ocean it is a diagonal Left; if you make a sharp Left you will be on Nielsson Way) Go to the 2030 South Beach Parking Lot #4 and turn Right. Look for MSIA parking sign on corner of Lot #4.
