This year has flown by!

I think I jinxed us at the end of last year when I stated that we were hoping that the third year’s the charm to having a normal year at AWE. COVID reared its ugly head once again and made school a bit challenging. One constant that has remained the same is the unwavering dedication and passion of our teachers and staff members. They have shown grace and resiliency through some difficult times.

We have risen above as Argyle Eagles and come together as a community for the sake of our students. Parents, staff, and students have exhibited positive attitudes and appreciation for each other. Our students have learned to adapt to adversity and develop a growth mindset to overcome any challenge that is presented to them. The following quote by Michael Josephson summed up our year, “ Take pride in how far you’ve come. Have faith in how far you can go. But don’t forget to enjoy the journey.”

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our terrific PTA and executive board. Stephanie Crawford, PTA President, has provided excellent leadership and support to the PTA committees, the school staff and administration, and most importantly to the students at AWE.

Thank you to all the parents on the PTA and the various committees for your endless contributions and for dedicating a great deal of time to provide resources to our school. We feel very spoiled and blessed that you take such good care of us. We are very thankful for your generous support and we look forward to next year.

With the opening of South Elementary next year we will be losing many of our wonderful students and parents. We are also losing a few of our fabulous teachers. We are sad to see you go, but know this is what you have looked forward to since moving to the communities you reside in, to have your own neighborhood school. We wish you all the best of luck and please don’t hesitate to come visit and contact me if you have any questions. You will be in good hands with Principal Dr. Jordan and her amazing team.

We have already started the planning and preparation process for the 2022-2023 school year. We will welcome the return of 5th grade being back on campus and those teachers returning. We are seeing rapid growth and expect to welcome several new families to our community over the summer. One of the planning areas is to ensure our staffing exemplifies the very best of educators who demonstrate a passion for teaching and working with children. We are in the process of interviewing for positions we have open for next year and will welcome new staff to the traditions and culture of Argyle West.

Please enjoy the change of pace that summer brings. Have a happy, relaxing, and safe summer with your children. We look forward to seeing everyone upon our return for the 2022-2023 school year. Please keep an eye on our website for information regarding summer hours and registration information. Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions.

Have a wonderful summer!!
