Argyle Intermediate Principal Update
ARGYLE INTERMEDIATE Principal
We have a lot to celebrate at AIS! This time of year brings us to some endings, such as the end of elementary school for our 5th-grade students and the temporary closure of the Argyle Intermediate School building. However, it is also an exciting time of new beginnings as our students transition to middle school and start theater, band, and other extracurriculars. In the meantime, let the celebration begin!

AIS students created beautiful and creative pieces of artwork that are available for purchase by parents. This is a fundraiser for the art department and a fun way to share their talents. We also had a silent auction for the “chandeliers” created by each homeroom. The bidding was intense, but we had some very happy “chandelier” owners at the end of the night!
Warm spring weather is very energizing, so it is important to keep students active. The PE department used Argyle Education Foundation funds to purchase the Drum Fit program. Drum Fit is a cardio drumming program that provides a full-body workout while drumming to a choreographed routine. The students are having so much fun with this new activity!
May is Bike Safety Month. We will participate by educating students on the importance of bike safety. Mrs. Haynes’ son was hit by a car while biking a few years ago. He created a video to share with our students describing his accident, recovery, and how wearing a helmet saved his life. We will conclude by giving away a bike and helmet to one lucky boy and girl. Students earn the chance for the bike by writing an essay about the importance of doing your best. This also ties into our STAAR Glow in the Dark Pep Rally and guest speaker program.

Students at AIS will end the year with a field trip to Six Flags, a kickball tournament, awards, and a clap out on the last day of school. What an awesome way to end a fantastic year!
At Argyle Intermediate School, we are very fortunate to have a dedicated, caring, and hardworking staff who collaborate to ensure each child has the best educational experience possible. With the help and support of parents and the community, they have provided enriching activities that contributed to the growth of our students.
Our students deserve recognition for their hard work and passion for learning. They have given us a sense of purpose, true joy, and unlimited humor. We are always saddened to see our 5th graders leave our campus, but we are proud of their accomplishments and know they are ready for the next chapter of their education. We are also a bit saddened to see our school close for a year, but it will reopen as a refreshed, new, and improved 6th grade center in 2023. We are growing and changing with our community.
Change is inevitable and we embrace the opportunity to serve the needs of the families in Argyle.
