Argyle Middle School Principal Update
A MESSAGE FROM AMS PRINCIPAL Mr. Gibson
As we wrap up the 2021-2022 school year a few noteworthy things come to mind that center around change.

Our rapid growth, moving buildings, and working to bring things back to normal over the past two years are the biggest challenges for us to overcome.
First of all, according to our enrollment demographic report Argyle Middle School was to have 1,023 students by snapshot day at the end of October. However, we started the year with over that number. Currently, we have 1,064 students with a few more scheduled to arrive before the end of school. An updated report for next year shows that we will have 1,080 students on snapshot day for 2022.
It would be fairly safe to say that our school will reach 1,200 students at some point next year. This rapid rise in growth then creates numerous new teaching positions. Many new faces in the building bring change to all.
This past year also brought the change of moving buildings. Anyone who has ever moved knows the stress involved in making that move. Our teachers and staff did a great job answering the challenge of leaving a brand new building and returning to our current location. The move was well coordinated and a special thanks needs to go out to our maintenance department who helped remove unwanted items as we worked to prepare for our first day of school.
This move happened during a time when our society was working to get things back to “normal.” I sometimes wonder exactly what normal is anymore. But even a move during difficult times can’t slow down what we work to accomplish with our students. It is so refreshing to see smiles on the faces of our students.
As we prepare for the next school year I know we will take the lessons learned from this year with us and continue to persevere while working to make a difference in student lives. Next school year…..here we come!
