Podcast Album: Learning To Walk Before You Can Run

Track 11 – Learning To Run Stage 8 Brought To You By: MyWeightLossDream.co.uk

Welcome to the eleventh track in our learning to walk before you can run series of podcasts and thanks for downloading me. Well I don’t mean me, I mean the podcast but I am sure you know what I mean! I hope you don’t mind but we are going to jump straight in with this podcast and to get you moving. Chapter 1 – Introduction To Stage 8 After completing your free run for stage 7 we are back with some more structure for stage 8. We are not changing things that much from stage 6 we are just getting ready for a gradual increase of distance. Stage 8 Begin with a 500m brisk walk, then alternate 8 minutes of running with 3 minutes of brisk walking for 2500m. Then finish your regime with 500m of brisk walking. Chapter 2 – Stage 8 Running Diary The whole distance of stage 8 is 3.5km (just over 2 miles) and even though this is partly walking there is a lot of running involved and you are going to be burning loads of calories. I like this stage because it is part of a gradual improvement that you

won’t feel any different doing this now, than in a few weeks when you are running much further without walking breaks. Tenth run = 2nd July 2015 = 3400m = 29 minutes I am at stage 8 already and it feels fantastic to see myself progressing bit by bit. Today is about doing what my body is capable of and increasing the distance a little bit. For today I start with my usual 500m power walk and find that I am more motivated than the dog (which is very strange) and then we start jogging. Eight minutes job doesn’t really feel like a stretch, but then again I am going downhill!!!! After my three minute cool down I am back to the jogging element again, but with it being uphill this time I am soon super tired and those eight minutes really drag! Then we do the power walk home. I am sweating buckets and the dog doesn’t look much better so it shows the kind of workout I am getting. Thanks for listening to track 11 and thanks very much for your support. You can follow the story even further on our blog at http://myweightlossdream.co.uk/blog or follow our Podcasts at http://myweightlossdream.co.uk/podcasts And chat to you again soon.

Thanks again for listening and best of luck with your own jogging journey.
