Podcast Album: Learning To Walk Before You Can Run
Track 17 - Learning To Run Stage 14 Brought To You By: MyWeightLossDream.co.uk
Welcome to the seventeenth track in our learning to walk before you can run series of podcasts and thanks for downloading me. Well I don’t mean me, I mean the podcast but I am sure you know what I mean! I hope you don’t mind but we are going to jump straight in with this podcast and to get you moving. Chapter 1 – Introduction To Stage 14 We are going to do a fun running experiment today to see how far you have progressed and how far you can go without stopping. I love doing these. It is like when you are on a diet and you take side snaps and then you can see how far you’ve come. Stage 14 Start by jogging for as long as you can without stopping, then take a 20% break, then jog again until you have covered a total distance of at least 5000m. Chapter 2 – Stage 14 Running Diary Seventeenth run = 23rd September 2015 = 6000m = 38.5 minutes Like with stage 7 the point of stage 14 is to see how far you have progressed. It has been a while since you were let loose and given the chance to see how your body reacts.
Don’t leave yourself so that you are fighting for breath but what you feel your body can do now with that little bit of extra push. I manage a time of 24.5 minutes without stopping. I go for this because it is twice around the track at the park and I have never done this before. I just manage it and feel rather out of breath and have a stitch. Now the first half was really easy and probably the easiest it has ever felt. Then the last 30% was probably the worst. But hey I did it! I then have a five minute walk and then another nine minute jog. This also gives me my best time yet and its nice to think I have knocked another 90 seconds off my total. For the 20% this means that whatever your time that you run for that you walk for 20% of that afterwards. So if you manage a 25 minute jog, then have a five minute break. Thanks for listening to track 17 and thanks very much for your support.
