President’s Publication
I, Chandler Yoon, will be representing the Cypress Falls High School Key Club Organization as the new president. Being the president means that you are the face of the club and you represent this family as its father. I want to be able to be that positive figure that the club members and others will turn to in order to grasp an understanding of the club but also be the figure that correctly represents Key Club. With the year coming to an end, one can only prepare for the up and coming, far-fetched future. The future is an unpredictable road with many hills and bends, but through extended preparation one can alleviate these bumps and start to smoothen the road. This is what I intend to do. First, I will use my seat of power to make this organization as much about service it can be and also thoroughly involve the members of this Key Club family as much as possible, making sure that they can easily send feedback to where we can improve as a whole. Enhancing the member’s contribution in the club will not only get the members more involved but will also genuinely improve the Cypress Falls Key Club Organization from the ground up by ensuring that every member is satisfied with the decisions and club. Next, I will keep in close contact with other clubs to ensure socials with other schools, more events, and better communication and friendship throughout our division. This unity throughout the clubs will influence close channels in which the clubs can share events, helpful tips, and overall a more interconnected set of schools. Through these goals I hope to achieve a more involved, fun, and service veered club in which everyone will just have more fun and understand what Key Club is truly about, service.
Yours in Service,
Editor’s Note
Hello friends! I’m super excited to be Cypress Falls Key Club’s new editor! As the year comes to an end, make sure to take the time to show your appreciation for the retired 2014 – 2015 board for all their hard work this past year and setting a wonderful example for the new board as well as strengthening our Key Club so that we can continue to improve! I also wanted to remind everyone that hours are due May 24th. Make sure you have at least 20 hours for the Spring Semester, with a minimum of 10 physical hours. Let’s finish the year off strong! Yours in Service,
Nadia Sahli Chandler Yoon

DCON â—? DAY 1 By Winnie Lu10 , Vice President Phenomenal. Everything about T-O DCON 2015 can be summed up in the word "phenomenal". From the Jurassic Park soundtrack to the Key Note Speaker and various forums, DCON became that fusion of knowledge, passion, and fun for me. I feel that a large percentage of Key Clubbers venture to discern that "true meaning of Key Club", and aside from the cheesiness, I do believe that that "meaning" lies in a feeling, a feeling that's mutual between all Key Clubbers and is especially strong at DCON. The genuine manner of every single person I met at DCON was enough to convince me that this club is truly made up of the most altruistic characters who have a deep-rooted passion for service. After all, there aren't many other occasions where you can comfortably introduce yourself and shake hands with people at any time and place (shoutout to all the friends we made in the hotel elevator). But by far, the most important lessons I learned from DCON are the ones that enlightened me on the ways to increase club membership and involvement.
Probably the crowning moment of DCON that particularly stands out in my memory is the service fair of the Welcoming Activities. I found the Welcoming Activity to be a stellar way to open up the convention because it gave people the chance to enjoy themselves and "break the ice" with other Key Clubbers. I was pleasantly surprised at how willing everyone there was to interact and bond. At the service fair end of the hall, it was an incredibly enlightening experience to hear about other club's service projects, many of which have inspired projects that my home club plan on pursuing! Three of my friends and I also had the opportunity to share our Rainbow Homes Girls Orphanage service project with everyone to promote the assistance of those in local and international shelters. After 3 long hours of cheering people on at our coin toss, I got to see my best friend and her fiancĂŠ get married, so what better way than that to end my first day of DCON. Oh, except it wasn't actually the end because SERGEANT-AT-ARMS!!! Patrolling a hall in the middle of the night with my "new" friend, Kelly, was actually thoroughly enjoyable and we didn't ever need to awkwardly knock on anyone's doors. More than anything, I'm grateful for the first night of DCON because that is the day that I found myself opening up to hold conversations with people who have so much passion for this organization! It is the reason why I hope everyone receives the opportunity to attend DCON either once, or multiple times!
