Hey guys and gals!
Editor’s Note
Hello Friends!
We made it another year! Although the school year has ended, there will always be opportunities to volunteer during summer. All hours obtained in the summer will be recorded and put towards your fall hour requirement. Also, I will be posting “meeting” videos on our Facebook page where I will release the agenda and go over news and events. Please like these videos as attendance so we can keep track of our active members. Thank you all and hope everyone has a great summer!
The 2015-2016 year has officially come to an end and I’m so happy to have served alongside so many wonderful students at Cy-Falls this past year. Summer service is officially starting and is a great way to utilize your summer to help the community and get ahead on your hours! If you are not a current member but plan on joining this coming fall, you can still attend, sign in, and obtain hours that we will record and reward you once you join in the fall!
Yours in Service,
Yours in Service

Relay For Life By Kelly Lam12, Historian In this month of May, with all these exams coming up, Key Clubbers still make time to volunteer for the events that are set up for them. One significant event that kept on being pushed back was the “Relay for Life walk. Due to the weather conditions, this event was pushed back until May. Relay for Life has always been an important event where volunteers and/or participates comes together recognize those who survived cancer and those that were taken by cancer. There was music set up, and in the commons, participates and volunteers walk around in circles. While walking in circles, there was a moment of silence to recognize everyone who came across cancer. There were many people such as students, parents, and teachers spending time at this indoor event. This event was an allnighter event meaning that it lasts a whole day. The volunteers helped with the concession stands, games, and helped clean up towards the end of the event. I saw many people from different schools get together and do many things, such as cleaning up, setting up, and also getting to know others. At this event, they had a scavenger hunt set up for us. We could go up to other people and ask them a question, and get them to sign the paper if it corresponds to them. It was pretty cool and fun because people started doing the scavenger hunt as a race. I saw people running towards other people, shouting to ask these questions.
I loved seeing the connection between everyone because everyone had a helping hand. One hand helping another gives me such a warm feeling to see. It was nice to stand in a circle, and just pay attention to what is being told. We are told about those who are going through this tragic situation and are told to take a moment and pray. The silence was comfortable because everyone took this very seriously. No one was joking around. I love being a part of Cy-Falls Key Club because while volunteering, you get to experience and see how everyone is together to help each other out. Being a part of the Cypress Falls Key Club community brings a lot of attention to me because of how friendly everyone is towards each other. Everyone is always trying to find something to do, and if there isn’t anything, they come together and play ice breakers. Ice breakers help others know about each other.
