Editor’s Note

Hello friends!

The holiday times are coming up. Christmas, New Years, and College Apps! Everyone looks forward to these times, especially key club. The holidays bring about a great time for the club, a time in which you are allowed to create a special bond with your club. Last year, the officers in our club all got together and had a big social which really allowed us to bond. I am looking to do this again, but with this year’s officers and hopefully incite an even more closely knit family. But! I won’t forget about the members either. We are also going to be doing a big social for the club that hopefully will allow the club as a whole to become even closer. For the members, we are looking to make this one big. We already have a PCM this month that will include ice skating, but I asked the members what they would really enjoy, and we are planning to have an ice skating social for our club as well This holiday time is also a time for giving and sharing, so we are planning on sharing in the holidays with another club from our division! We are going to be having an inner club social with Cypress Fair High School. This social will be happening January 2nd, 2016, and you can definitely expect to see me there.

The semester is nearing its end. Even though we are all buried under piles of schoolwork as finals season approaches, it is still possible to take a break from the stress and enjoy yourself by volunteering! Also, SENIORS, make sure to start planning your senior events with us! Shout out to those who started early and have already gotten theirs done. Lastly, don’t forget that your 20 hours must be completed by FRIDAY, DECEMBER 18TH.

Looking forward to the break, and all the time I’ll be spending with my club! ☺

Keep up the great work! Yours in Service,

Yours in Service,

Enjoying the Holiday Season through Service By Jannette Nguyen10, Fundraising/Service Project

It is indeed that time of year again! The bells are jingling, choirs are singing, and the families are gathering around. This year, the Cypress Falls Key Club fundraising officers, Chau and Jannette would like to host a bake & gift sale for the holidays in ho-ho-ho-hopes to fundraise for Key Club. There are a lot of benefits in result of this event, for volunteers are capable of receiving hours, customers could conveniently purchase gifts or goodies for a quick bite, and the money raised would go to Key Club for purposeful reasons. Key Clubbers volunteering for the event could earn hours by baking or making gifts to be purchased and as well as serving or setting up. However, volunteers should be wellinformed of certain requirements that will be needed in order to earn hours. A few baked goodie suggestions could be winter or holiday themed cookies, cupcakes, brownies, fudge, and gingerbread men would most definitely attract customers. Also, keep in mind that creativity would further make these delicious treats extensively appetizing and get everyone in the holiday spirit! Crafty volunteers with nimble hands could decorate simple things such as ceramic mugs, stockings, stationary, hats, and ornaments to be sold as well. These are just a few ideas to get started but other ideas would be highly appreciated!

If you are not all about baking or hand-making/decorating gifts, fear not because you could help set up tables to make selling these items possible! Volunteers should consider that the “stand should clearly announce what is being sold and the purpose of it. Perhaps have green and red table clothes with white labels for prices for certain items, or a theme with snowflakes, snowmen, Christmas trees, or Christmas lights? Ooo, or maybe jingle some bells here and there? Get totally creative with it and have fun fundraising for Key Club! All money earned from this event would go to the club to help fund for certain events they might want to host, buy some things for the club to further help out with costs and help us help the community overall. It's a win win and a great way to be jolly. So are you down to share the joy and get in the spirit for the holidays? Hurry hurry little elves, it's time to get working! And of course, Happy Holidays to all. About Me

I am the little girl on the right. Here I was volunteering at Via Colori and met the very entertaining musician, Andy Roo!
