COMMUNITY IN SCHOOLS
YOU can help! Nassau Bay is now a proud sponsor of Space Center Intermediate in efforts with Communities in Schools. Through this program, citizens can help meet the needs of at-risk students by donating needed time or volunteering. Currently Space Center Intermediate is in need of 5-6 digital, electric alarm clocks for children responsible for getting themselves to school, as well as healthy snacks. Additionally, they need anyone interested in volunteering for the upcoming Career Day or volunteering on campus as a mentor. A little bit of giving can make a HUGE difference in the life of an at-risk student. To coordinate pick up for donations or for more information about volunteering, please contact Ashley Graves at 281-330-5413 or by email at Ashley.Graves@nassaubay.com. Thank you for making a difference!

REMEMBERING ISELA CASTILLO
On September 19, 2018 the Nassau Bay City staff lost a great friend and colleague, Isela Castillo, the City’s Human Resources Administrator. Isela was with the City for over 5 years and handled all the HR activities as well as assisted with many City events. She planned elaborate Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas parties filled with decorations and party festivities for the employees. At the encouragement of several employees, she established the Nassau Bay cycling team and rode bikes with her coworkers in several large fundraisers. She was known among staff for her contagious laugh and sense of humor. Isela had the ability to connect with each person she encountered in a way that made them feel truly appreciated. She was incredibly generous with her time and resources in all her relationships and served as an inspiration for her coworkers and friends. Isela and her dazzling personality will be missed by all who knew and loved her. We offer our condolences to her family and all those who lost a true friend with her passing. We encourage all those who would like to honor her to ‘pay it forward’ with acts of kindness and generosity. Isela had planned to ride in the 2018 Galveston Bay Foundation Bike Around the Bay. Donations can still be made to the Galveston Bay Foundation in her memory by visiting www.nassaubay.com/biketeam.
