NASSAU BAY GARDEN CLUB UPCOMING EVENTS The Nassau Bay Garden Club will hold its next meeting on Tuesday, March 8, in the City Hall Council Chambers from 9:30AM-12PM. The program will be about how to arrange succulents for long-lasting decorations. It will be presented by Estelle Lozmack, well-known participant in many flower shows. Everyone is welcome! The Club’s 2022 Ann Gay Scholarship has been awarded to Ms. Rachael Lahar, a Nassau Bay resident currently in her Senior year at the College of Veterinary Medicine at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. She currently holds a 4.0 grade average and is on the Dean’s List. The Club celebrated the life of long-time talented and creative member Joy Edwards at their February meeting and added a plaque in Joy’s honor onto the Memorial Bench in the Council Chambers. Jayne Samson and Betty Armstrong spoke about their long friendships and so many good times with Joy. Her husband, Jim, accepted the Club's sincerest love and condolences. Finally, the Club wishes to acknowledge another sweet and talented past member who passed away recently. The Club sends love and condolences to the family of Charlotte Reem. COUNCIL MEETING RECAP

FEBRUARY 14, 2022 - REGULAR COUNCIL MEETING • Approved the second and final reading of Ordinance O2022-820 calling the May 7, 2022 City Officers’ Election for the purpose of electing a Mayor and three Councilmembers, Positions 2, 4, and 6. • Approved Resolution R2022-2242 renaming "Point Lookout Drive" from the entrance of David Braun Park, through the entire length of the park, a public street in the City of Nassau Bay, Texas, and calling it "Upper Bay Road.” • Authorized the Interim City Manager to sign an Engagement Letter with Lloyd Gosselink for legal services related to a CenterPoint Gas Franchise Agreement. • Approved Resolution R2022-2243 reappointing Roscoe Lee, Jeff Horton, and Arlene Philips to the Planning Commission, as discussed in Executive Session.

MAY 7, 2022 CITY ELECTION: VOTING INFORMATION AND IMPORTANT DATES The City of Nassau Bay will conduct a General Election on May 7, 2022. Nassau Bay residents will be asked to vote for Mayor and Council Positions 2, 4, and 6. These positions are currently held by Bob Warters, Phil Johnson, Bryce Klug, and Matt Prior, respectively. To view all the candidate applications and related forms, please visit www.nassaubay.com/election. Register to Vote: The last day to register to vote for the May Election is April 7th. Voter registration cards are available at the Harris County Clerk's Office. Voting by Mail: The last day to apply for a ballot by mail is April 26th (application received, not postmarked). Eligible voters should receive their mail-in-ballot for the May election in mid-March.

Early Voting: Harris County will be conducting the City’s election. Early voting will be conducted from April 25th to May 3rd. During the period of early voting, Nassau Bay residents can vote at any Harris County polling place. Dates, times, and locations will be updated on the City’s website or can be found by visiting www.harrisvotes.com. Election Day: Election Day is Saturday, May 7th. Voting will be held in the City Hall Council Chamber from 7:00am to 7:00pm. Unofficial tabulation of results will be publicized as soon as possible after 7:00pm on May 7th. Just an FYI: When you go vote, you can bring a marked sample ballot or a Voter’s Guide into the voting booth with you.
