“GST law has been a good step by the government” Founded in 2005, Bhagwati Enterprises is a Secunderabad-based distributor and

Mr. Deepak, Bhagwati Enterprise service provider of imaging consumables with main focus on reselling printer cartridges, cartridge parts, printer parts, toners, inks, etc. Led by Deepak, Director, Bhagwati exclusive distributor for ProDot products (for AP and Telangana) and for Image King (for AP, Orissa and West

Bengal) with main focus on quality and transparency. Bhagwati is also an authorized partner for HP, Canon, Brother and Epson for Andhra and Telangana states. Reflect is Bhagwati’s own brand for imaging consumables. Deepak, comments, “We sell only quality products in white. Competition from those who sell cheap quality, China-made compatibles is corrupting the market. In this scenario, importers and end-sellers are doing well, but middlemen like us are suffering. We should find some way to curb these low-quality products market. On inks side, color usage has been increasing a lot, but not much on laser printing side. Next, the GST law has been a good step by the government, but it is not being implemented 100%. Many players are still doing business in cash without paying tax. This makes it difficult for those selling in white paying taxes. Right now market is going slow and drop in rupee value against dollar has pushed up prices. In future we want to

expand our business further.” Besides their main office in Secunderabad, Bhagwati has

Mr. Prakash, Bhagwati Enterprise branch offices in Bhubaneswar, Kolkata and Delhi. They also provide copier consumables and office equipment to a limited extent. The company is growing at an annual rate of 15%. Mr. Prakash deals with copier & IT peripherals business at Bhagwati Enterprise.

“Imaging Brands Should Increase Margins to Partners and Abstain from Direct Selling” Neetu Computer & Communication is a regional distributor based out of Jabalpur,

Mr. Vivek Jha, Proprietor, Neetu Computer & Communication Madhya Pradesh. With Maha Kaushal (in Madhya Pradesh) as the main area of operations, Neetu is a regional distributor for prominent imaging brands like ProDot, Image King, Techno, etc for compatible toners, cartridges, inks, cartridge parts, etc.

32

They are also distributors for NP AV antivirus and Intex computer peripherals. Their product portfolio includes inks and toners, both compatible and OEM, for Epson, HP and Brother brand machines and also compatible printer machine parts. They are clocking an average annual growth of 15-20%. Mr. Vivek Jha, Proprietor, Neetu Computer, comments, “I draw inspiration from my father Mr. Satish Jha who has been my guide and teacher founder of Neetu Computer. The low-quality, cheap cartridges spreading in the market are spoiling the market operating prices and the increasing competition is bringing down the margins. As a result many players in the imaging business are closing down their shops are changing into other businesses. This is the biggest problem in the market. Next, rupee value against the dollar is dropping and this is increasing the prices of imported goods. The customers once purchase at a particular

price, will be willing to pay the same price always and they do not understand how our costs are increasing. Currently, getting payments from the down-the-line dealers and retailers has become a big problems in the market; most of them do not payback according to the credit terms we give them whereas we pay the OEMs from who we take in time, according to the credit terms they give us. This has put us at a big disadvantage. Another bad trend is some of the compatible brands in India are directly selling to the dealers and retailers and this is creating cross-competition cutting into our business. Brands must abstain from direct selling to the dealers and retailers which is adversely affecting our business. Also compatible brands should increase margins so that distributors and partners can survive and do decent business. In future, we will add more products to our portfolio and also have plans to start our own brand in 2019.”

interview

Aryan believes in building long-term, deeply rooted relationships with the partners Aryan Trade World Pvt Ltd (ATWPL) is the authorized national distributor for world’s renowned brands like TTI, Chinamate and A&G. ATWPL offers the best quality products at competitive prices. ATWPL delivers a wide gamut of high quality imaging products and toner cartridge accessories under their brand name Aryan. Aryan Goel, President, ATWPL, shares their company policy, strategy and the latest market trends. Mr. Aryan Goel President, ATWPL

R

egarding the current market trends and challenges, Aryan Goel comments, “As a result of unhealthy competition from the low-quality, low-priced toner providers in the market, MoP has come down. Since the Indian-market is pricesensitive, people are getting attracted to these cheaply priced toners dumped from China which are of very poor quality. These low level toners cannot give the consistency, page-yield and color thickness as the quality toners of premium brands like TTI, which are produced with latest technology from Japan. After we associated with A&G, we are able to bring-in green OPC drums, which are now doing well and widely accepted in the market. All the standard players in India should unite and maintain a decent MoP that will be good for all. The imaging industry in India is still poorly organized. Each person follows his own tentative methods and the coordination between different players and their market strategies is very poor, with each looking for his own short-term profits. We have to work together to bring in some norms of organization that will ensure a sort of long-term order into the industry and help to maintain quality and price-stability.” With presence in every corner of INDIA, ATWPL has evolved into one of the most trusted provider in the Indian after market

34

imaging industry. ATWPL boasts of a dynamic professional team with the motto ‘Quality is our Passion’. The in-house R&D department of the company makes sure that products meet all the necessary standards before shipping them to the end customers. Apart from laying emphasis on quality, ATWPL is very particular about after-sales-service too. Regarding brand positioning, promotion and their USPs, Aryan Goel elaborates, “Quality is our main selling point; our prices neither too low nor too high. Next, we have several incentive schemes for our partners. Most importantly, we assess each dealer at an individual level, in addition to the general volume-based performance. If a dealer performs well subject to his limitations even though his volumes are not comparable to other performers, we recognize that dealer and reward him out of the way. Aryan believes in building long-term, deeply rooted relationships with the partners. We encourage all our partners to perform better which in turn helps us to perform better.” ATWPL has an indubitable business philosophy that lays stress on absolute customer satisfaction by offering them with cost-effective and integrated solutions. The company makes continuous efforts to offer best value to the end user at every step simultaneously complying with all

environmental requirements. Talking about their approach while dealing with challenges, Aryan Goel states, “We have a very organized system here at ATWPL. Our R&D department uses the best testing methods while testing the products; our market research team keeps up-to-date with the new market trends so that we can supply the best quality products at affordable prices; our finance department keeps a close check on the debtors and our marketing team keeps promoting new and valuable schemes for the partners and customers. Our promotion schemes are aimed at encouraging the existing loyal customers and then winning new customers, besides offering attractive margins to the partners.” ATWPL’s core business philosophy is driven by trust, concern for safe and reliable products, passion for the latest technology and social responsibility. Last but not the least, ATWPL always places their partners’ interests ahead before drawing their business strategy. Regarding future plans, Aryan Goel comments, “We at Aryan are confident that with the support of our vendor partners like TTI, Chinamate and A&G who provide us quality-assured products and with the support of our channel partners in India, hope to gain significant market share in the Indian market in the next few years.”

Talking about the latest trends, Deepesh Patel comments, “Up to 2006, the market has been in general small and slow for the imaging consumables, but after 2006 it has grown by leaps and bounds and continues to grow. People know Jet Technologies on the basis of the wide range of products we provide, which include all spare parts for cartridges and printer machines. The company continually sticks to the business philosophy of ‘Quality First, Customer Supremacy’, and sincerely strives to provide perfect quality, reasonable price and qualified service. Jet Technologies is based on the motto of ‘Quality is the Core’ and focuses on total quality control. “We are not swayed by challenges; we treat every challenge as opportunity. Our message to partners and also to other distributors is they should sell only quality products to the customers and bank on longterm relationship than on making quick-bucks by selling low quality products. We take pride in keeping our customers satisfied. We are happy with our current growth and confident about our future,” concluded Deepesh Patel.

Talking about the scope and market trends, Rohit Shah comments, “Market for imaging consumables is growing with new technologies and products continuously coming up. There is still a lot of business scope for those who work sincerely and explore intelligently. For instance, OEMs are still selling a large quantities of imaging consumables with big margins and this shows that there is still a big scope for compatibles providers too if they know how to positively exploit the market. IDC report shows that the printer consumables market is enormous and growing. I suggest that players in our imaging industry should sell only good quality products and for this they should also have good amount of technical knowledge to ensure best customer service and satisfaction.” The in-house quality control unit of JET TEC tests the all the materials and products

from the stage of procurement to the stage of final dispatch and aims at offering nearOEM quality and consistency. The consistent performance and unmatched quality standards maintained by the firm have helped them in establishing and maintaining a huge client-base across the Indian markets. Regarding the growing usage and demand of color consumables in the imaging industry, Rohit Shah, states, “Demand for color consumables is increasing, but the main challenge in color segment is about maintaining quality and consistency. In case of color, unlike in the case of black, any inconsistency or low-quality becomes glaringly visible. JET TEC’s color consumables stand up to high quality and consistency and we have a wide range of color consumables for different brands and models.” Today, JET TEC is a preferred supplier for Indian remanufacturers, refillers and corporate because of the brand’s high quality imaging products and unmatched after sales support. The wide distribution network and experienced logistic staff of JET TEC ensure timely delivery of the consignments. Regarding future plans and message to the partners, Rohit Shah briefs, “In future, we want to add more branches to our network. We want to enhance our manufacturing facilities to manufacture a wider range of imaging products under Make in India program. We are glad with our performance and looking forward to a great future. My message to the partners is when it comes to quality we should compare ourselves with the OEMs, not with those below us. We all work together sincerely, there is a lot of opportunity for profits and growth and there is lot of untapped potential. ”
