Dear Readers, The market for managed print services is bifurcated on the basis of size of enterprise into large enterprises and SMEs. The former accounted for the leading share in the overall market owing to the adoption of MPS in managing complex IT infrastructure. However, SMEs are slated to up their usage of managed print services with increasing awareness regarding the many advantages of these services. Managed print services are of three main types based on deployment: on-premise, cloud-based, and hybrid. On account of the growing popularity and adoption of cloud-based MPS, this segment enjoys increased preference by end users. Managed print services find application in several end-use sectors, such as telecom and IT, banking, financial services, and insurance, healthcare, government and public, legal, education, manufacturing, and construction. The government and public sector is by far the leading consumer of MPS owing to the massive volume of paperwork.

n e w s u p d at e LD Products Launches Gold Partner Program Filled with Toner Reseller Incentives

LD Products Channel Partner Division has made it even more rewarding for toner resellers to create more demand, grow their bottom line and reduce administrative hassles associated with toner purchases and returns. Following a full year of intense p r o d u c t development and field testing in 2017, LD Products C h a n n e l P a r t n e r Division officially launched their exclusive Gold Line in 2018, a new premium quality alternative to expensive OEM and overpriced remanufactured toner products. Year to date, Gold Line customers have achieved a return rate of only 1/10th of 1 percent of all cartridges shipped leading to the launch of a new incentive plan for resellers to rethink their toner strategy as an LD Gold Partner.“Our Gold Partners will be able to win market share from competitors and increase their profitability with current customers by switching from their current OEM or remanufactured toner providers,” stated Christian Pepper, president of LD Products Channel Partner Division. “Our pioneer resellers have reported that the quality of our cartridges is excellent, so we are willing to do things other toner providers may not to earn your business.” “Toner resellers are concerned about OEM intrusion into their business, margin reduction and aftermarket vendor consolidation which is why we are willing to put our money where our mouth is for dealers looking to trial our product for free and as long as they want”, stated Pepper.

Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A. Inc. (Konica Minolta), ay announced that it has been recognized with the 2018-2019 BLI PaceSetter Award for Smart Workplace Vision by Keypoint Intelligence-Buyers Lab. According to the analysts, Konica Minolta was singled out for its market-leading position because of its forward-looking vision of the future of work and a clear roadmap for how to get customers there. It also took into account its willingness to invest in innovative technology outside the core document imaging space, specifically, its smart workplace offerings. Notably, this includes ALICE receptionist and the Workplace Hub portfolio. Ultimately, the company’s IT services division, All Covered, culminates all of these varied technologies and has the proven expertise to implement and manage. Overall, Konica Minolta is pioneering technology to support the components Keypoint Intelligence identified as crucial to the Smart Workplace of the Future. These are IT Services, Cloud Services, Security, Business Process Automation (BPA), AI, Mobility, and Unified Communications & Collaboration. To determine which document imaging vendors are shaping the future, analysts at Keypoint Intelligence conducted a first-of-its-kind study that examined leading vendors’ approaches to the Smart Workplace. Key areas of evaluation included the company’s vision for the future workplace, its current products and services to move customers toward that

vision, current and future channel and goto-market strategies, ability to execute the vision, and more.“Office spaces are evolving, and Konica Minolta has been evolving with them,” said Jamie Bsales, director of solutions analysis at Keypoint Intelligence. “The company has a clear vision of what the Smart Workplace of the Future should include, and through a combination of in-house product development, acquisitions, and partnerships, it has been actively pursuing this vision. As a result, Konica Minolta looks to have the structure and products in place to support Smart Workplace initiatives by offering a wide portfolio that includes its core document imaging equipment and solutions, smart receptionists, collaboration systems, robotics, and advanced security video surveillance, plus the IT services to make it all work.”“We’ve been busy re-inventing the traditional office environment,” said Kevin Kern, senior vice president, Business Intelligence Services and Product Planning, Konica Minolta. “So, to be acknowledged for our success in delivering tangible results on our vision for the digital revolution is truly satisfying. New technologies and evolving employee expectations are impacting how, when, and where we work. Konica Minolta is always working to lead the way, and to stay relevant with customers, by expanding its portfolio of products and services to address the needs of tomorrow’s marketplace. That’s what we strive to accomplish on a daily basis. We’re grateful to Keypoint Intelligence–Buyers Lab for this recognition.”

Toshiba Recycles Record Amount of E-Waste in 2017

Toshiba America Business Solutions today announced the recycling of a company record amount of nearly 228 metric tons of used toner products in 2017 through its “Zero Waste to Landfill” program. Toshiba has prevented more than 1,000 metric tons of e-waste—equivalent to the weight of 110 tandem-axle (ten-wheel) dump trucks—from filling open land since the program began in 2008. Toshiba also accepts and recycles other vendors’ spent toner consumables, the first manufacturer to do so. Through its partnership with internationallyrecognized recycler, Close the Loop, Toshiba recovers and separates materials from spent imaging products into usable toner, plastic and metal utilizing a zero-thermal recovery process. These components often re-enter the supply chain for use in future products, contributing to the circular economy. Powder extracted from recycled toner cartridges is used to develop an asphalt product for resurfacing roads. Pens and rulers are also made from plastic parsed from spent toner consumables.“Toshiba’s commitment to the environment is a core value of our company and something that’s taken very seriously by our leadership and workforce,” said Tom Walter, Toshiba America Business Solutions vice president of distribution and aftermarket

“Formujet is a leading provider of environment-friendly imaging products with near-OEM quality”

I

ndigo Prints Smart Pvt Ltd, founded in 2008 by Shashank Ruiwale, is one of the prominent manufacturers, suppliers, exporters, importers and traders of laser toner Cartridges, Inkjet printer inks, industrial inkjet printing products, large format inks & cartridges under its brand name formujet. Shashank Ruiwale, President, Indigo Prints, comments, “OEM-quality is the benchmark for the quality standards of all formujet imaging products. We continually improve the quality of our productsto reach close to OEM quality. The aftermarket products share in the market is growing in size and volume, and to counter this, OEMs are coming up with their own strategies like introducing special miniaturized chips, newer technologies, complicated menu options, printer and cartridges ‘matched binding,’ etc. As OEMs create newer obstacles for the aftermarket supplies, it also makes it difficult for the end consumers to use the product suitably, makes life complicated for end user. This is also opening newer opportunities for aftermarket industry and happily so. Samsung takeover by HP, Lexmark takeover by Apex, etc have generated new equations and new possibilities. And aftermarket compatibles providers are coming up with their own ways overcome these restrictions and challenges.” He adds, “Anotherunpleasant trend is too many dealers in the market are competing with each other and bringing down the market operating prices (MOP) and consequently profit margins. To sustain this, they are bringing down quality so as to provide products at cheaper prices. In our case, we do not want to compromise on quality and

we import from the best providers from overseas, incorporating proper controls at every step of manufacturing, and controlling product specs. We will continue to deliver high quality. Customers are also shifting more and more towards using high-quality compatible laser cartridges in the place of OEM laser cartridges.” formujet’s product range also includes Continuous Ink Supply System (CISS), industrial inkjet printing products,CISS inks, sublimation inks, formujet photo inks, laserjet toner powders, toner cartridges for printers and copiers, refillable cartridges, compatible inkjet cartridges, ink tank System, jumbo cartridges, large format printers inks, large format printer cartridges, vacuum toner cleaning machines, inkjet cartridge refilling machine, inkjet accessory kit, laserjet component tray, un-inked fabric rolls, dot matrix ribbon ink, dot matrix ribbon cassettes, OPC drums, doctor blade, Sublimation heat press, ID cards and dragon sheets, PVC inkjet sheets, etc. Huge range of products and to maintain inventory and quality is humongous ask. Regarding the growing usage of color in home and offices, Ruiwale comments, “As for color segment is concerned, there are three areas—copiers, lasers and inkjet. On the laser side, used in corporate and institutions for office documentations, the growth is limited and hindered by technology-cost balance. But use of color is growing fast on the inkjet applications and users are enjoying new technology of low-cost ink tank printing solutions. In the copier market segment, inkjet is penetrating due to low-cost, low-

speed color option and jobbers are enjoying this new opening. The formujet has a very good product range of dye, pigment, nonfading color inks to meet the needs of a variety of customers.” Other merits of formujet include welldeveloped warehouse, budget-friendly prices, timely deliveries and a wide distribution network. formujet is supported by a state-ofthe-art R&D and sales departments manned by qualified, well-trained and experienced professionals to provide the latest technology products and services to the partners and then to the end users. Ruiwale proudly adds, “We have QC team manned by around 10 engineers.” Ruiwale further adds, “Providing products of good quality at competitive prices and at short time-intervals to meet the consumer demands are big challenges. Lack of awareness drives consumers to accept or receiveproducts of compromised quality, which are available at low prices. We have pan-India presence, though we are stronger in some pockets. We clocked an approximate annual revenue growth of 20% in FY 2017-18. We are trying to increase channel-penetration with more channelfriendly sales schemes. Also we are using online market-space to increase the reach and availability of our products. Concerning e-waste, we are compliant with all regulations and we vocally supported RCTA (Rajasthan Cartridge Recyclers Association) initiative. We will continue to support such efforts; we are staunch supporters of the campaign against e-waste and for environment protection.”

Challenges in the market include the proliferation of poor quality inks imported from abroad which are sold at very low prices. These are upsetting the MoP and bringing down quality. Also there are several dupes in the market selling as OEM cartridges with OEM logos. Some OEMs tried to curb this fraud practice, but successful only to a limited extent. Now Epson is giving 3 black ink bottles free with the purchase of one OEM cartridge and this has negatively affected our business. However, due to our reputation and promotion in the market we are able to maintain our market-share.” Clients appreciate and admire Jyotsna’s products for their outstanding features, accurate dimensions, assured quality, longer service life, easy installation, strength, etc. Jyotsna is a client-centric organization that adopts innovative procedures and practices to meet customer expectations.
