that applies to Wolda too.
We are confident that with our new identity we have moved even closer to that goal.
First, this book will be the last printed edition of Wolda. As of the next edition, we have decided to offer the full content of

would be unacceptably high, putting the price out of line with comparable publications.
Masa, Ale and Mauro Co-founders of Eulda Books
Secondly, we have had a long think about the judging process. Co-ordinating the work of 30 different judges each year is, as you can imagine, no simple task and unfortunately not all of them have given Wolda the attention it deserves. To cut a long story short, we no longer feel it is feasible to continue with the original system, so we have decided to radically alter it. For the better, of course! The changes introduced for Wolda ‘10, which you can find online, include: • a brand new entry fee, which should make the award scheme accessible to more and more designers worldwide; • a brand new judging process, every bit as innovative as the previous one, which allows every participant to have a say on the winning logos; • a redesigned website, which should be easier and faster to navigate.

Judging procedure Thanks to an innovative filter mechanism, the judging procedure reflects the actual process that turns any logo into a successful logo: the designers decide what to present to the clients, the clients decide what to present to the public, but in the end it’s always the public that decides if a brand is successful.
1. The 3 tiers vote in 3 consecutive phases: first the designers, then the clients and finally the members of the public.
5. All the remaining logos are then ranked in order of their total score. The ‘Best of Europe’ and ‘Best of Nation’ winners are chosen on the basis of this ranking. In the case of a

Circus of Magazines
Logo created for Circus of Magazines™, an online marketplace for magazines. It combines an open magazine and a circus tent in order to represent the online community and by extension the website, a place where magazine lovers gather to buy, sell and exchange magazines. The challenge consisted of avoiding any clichés while keeping in mind the client’s desire to incorporate a classic circus feature in the mark. The final result is a simple and memorable logo and a mark that works well for stand-alone usage.

Guilherme Sebastiany, Akira Goto, Andrea Kulpas, Eder Santos, Corine Cardoso, Gustavo Moreira, Rafael Toledo Ecolabor ECOLABOR is a brazilian private company. Since 1992, it provides laboratory analysis and environmental consultancy, including sampling services, to Brazil and South America. The company had the need to change its old logo, since it was expanding and upgrading the values it stands up for. The new logo should show transparency and uniqueness, but still demonstrate precision. Besides the test tube had been very common in laboratory logos, its shape has been used subjectively in oder to reveal the transparency and the environmental values they stand for. By working on a geometric and modular typography, their sharpness was expressed without austerity or inflexibility.

Pomegranate Letterpress + Design
Pomegranate L+D is a Letterpress Printer and Design Studio. The classic art of hand letterpress with modern design and technology in an environmentally sustainable way are combined. The logo needed to be modern, clean and simple, but also reflecting the traditional printing history. It needed to be designed for printing on a letterpress as well as viewing in the online world. In order to show our hand crafted quality, a Pomegranate tree was hand drawn scanned and then drawn in Illustrator. The final touch was using the fruit itself to replace the “O, it allows us flexibility when the tree cannot be used for small space applications.

Think Tank
The gusher of ideas! A Christoph Kolumbus of new business opportunities. To see, what nobody imagines and to believe what nobody dares to. Through multidiscipline approach of pattern recognition, spotting a new niche before anyone else does. Understanding the connection between diverse, and seemingly separate, disciplines. To know how to link apparently unconnected elements to create a new ones. The capturing of the excess and fusing them into a new form not yet seen before...into a new concept. “You see things; and you say, ‘Why?’ But We dream things that never were; and say, ‘Why not?’” (George Bernard Shaw) is the firm slogan!

London based, ‘green’ Asset Management Fund with a focus on renewable energy and reduction of CO2 emissions. The identity has been constructed through a rhythmic, modular progression revolving on its axis, capable of communicating both the concept of energy and photovoltaics represented by the sun as a symbol of renewable energy, and resulting in a clear and direct communication of the typology of the investment offer of Plus Ultra.
