Armenian Genocide Truth And Justice Act Introduced In U.S. House
Reps. Grimm, Schiff, Valadao and Pallone Introduce Legislation During Prime Minister Erdogan's White House Meetings New Measure Calls For A Just And Comprehensive International Resolution Of This Crime Against Humanity WASHINGTON, DC – As Turkey’s Prime Minister Recep Erdogan continues his official U.S. state visit, a bipartisan group of U.S. Representatives introduced the Armenian Genocide Truth and Justice Act, a new measure calling upon the President to build upon the U.S. record of having recognized the Armenian Genocide by working toward improved ArmenianTurkish relations based upon the Republic of Turkey's full acknowledgement of the facts and ongoing consequences of the Armenian Genocide, and a fair, just, and comprehensive international resolution of this crime. “We welcome today's introduction of the Armenian Genocide Truth and Justice Act," said Aram Hamparian, Executive Director of the ANCA. “This innovative bipartisan initiative, building upon the U.S. record of having recognized the Armenian Genocide, calls for a new U.S. approach to Armenian-Turkish ties that reflects our America values and recognizes that our national interests require an end to Turkey's denials and a truthful, just, and comprehensive international resolution of this crime.” The Armenian Genocide Truth and Justice Act, introduced by Representatives Michael Grimm (R-NY), Adam Schiff (DCA), David Valadao (R-CA) and Frank Pallone (D-NJ), reflects and reinforces previous U.S. affirmation of the Armenian Genocide as a crime of genocide, citing the U.S. Government's May 28, 1951 written statement to the International Court of Justice regarding the Convention on the Prevention and Punishment of the Crime of Genocide, President Ronald Reagan's April 22, 1981 Proclamation and Congressional adoption of Armenian Genocide legislation in 1975 and 1984. “Almost a century ago, over a million Armenian men, women, and innocent children were mercilessly put to death by forces of the Ottoman Empire in a horrifying attempt to wipe them from the face of the earth,” said Rep. Grimm. “The U.S. has tirelessly defended justice and human rights throughout the world, and we have a solemn duty to recognize, once and for all, the injustices of the Armenian Genocide. On behalf of the Armenian community in New York City, I am proud to join with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle in introducing Armenian Genocide Truth and Justice Act.” “The facts of history are well-settled – 1.5 million Armenian men, women and children were deliberately murdered in the first genocide of the 20th Century,” Rep. Schiff said. “With each passing day, we lose a few more of the dwindling number of survivors. We should all feel a powerful sense of urgency, and the profound call of moral duty to recognize the Armenian Genocide unequivocally and without

delay.” Congressman Valadao stated, “Many of those able to flee during the genocide immigrated to the United States and settled in California. Today, their families continue to grow, thrive, and instill their cultural heritage in their adopted communities. However, the sense of loss as a result of these horrific acts runs deep as many ArmenianAmericans in my district personally know a friend or family member who was unable to escape the genocide. We must ensure that the United States government properly acknowledges what so many already know to be true.” “The time for the U.S. to officially recognize the Armenian Genocide is long overdue,” said Congressman Frank Pallone, Co-Chair of the Congressional Caucus on Armenian Issues. “Armenia stands as a resilient ally of the United States and a nation dedicated to democracy and regional stability, and the Resolution introduced today shows that we will not stand idly by when the truth of this genocide is distorted by the Turkish government.”
Armenian-Turkish Relations Discussed During Obama-Erdogan Meeting NEWS.am - Armenian-Turkish relations likewise were discussed during the meeting that was held in Washington, DC. between US President Barack Obama and Turkish PM Recep Tayyip Erdogan. During the news conference following the 2.5-hour talk, the Turkish PM noted that aside from the Syrian developments, which were their main agenda item, they also discussed issues on Azerbaijan, Armenia, Iran, and Afghanistan, Sozcu daily of Turkey reports. Separately, Mevlut Cavusoglu, the person in charge of the external relations of
Turkey’s ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP), noted on NTV television that, during his talk with the US President, Erdogan also brought the Cyprus and the Nagorno-Karabakh issues into the agenda.

'Few Western Powers Really Want Solution': Assad Skeptical About Proposed Geneva Peace Talks
Syrian President Bashar Assad has welcomed the proposed peace talks for Syria agreed by Russia and the US, but voiced his skepticism about their prospects for success, saying that many forces don't really want to see a solution. Speaking to Argentine newspaper Clarin and Telam news agency in Damascus, Assad said that “believing that a political conference will stop terrorism on the ground is unreal.” Washington and Moscow have been at odds since the beginning of the Syrian crisis, but are now aiming to find common ground as they push for talks to take place between Assad’s regime and the opposition. If the efforts are successful, there are hopes that talks could take place at the end of this month and could lead to a multilateral summit. “We welcome the Russian-US rapprochement and hope that an international meeting will take place to help the Syrians overcome the crisis ,” he said. “But we don’t think that a lot of Western nations really want to see a solution in Syria. And we don’t think that those many forces that help the terrorists want a solution to the crisis.” Syrian President Bashar al-Assad (R) speaking during an interview with Argentine newspaper Clarin and Argentine state news agency Telam, in Damascus. Assad said he welcomed a US-Russian peace initiative to end Syria's civil war but had no plans to resign.(AFP Photo / SANA) As world powers lock horns over the Syrian conflict, Assad stressed that foreign
states will not act as decision-makers in the crisis and any decision about reform in Syria will come from within. He specifically addressed US Secretary of State John Kerry, who stated that Assad could play a major role in achieving peace by stepping down. “I wonder how Kerry or anyone else has received a mandate from the Syrian people to decide whether someone should stay or go. Any decision about reforms in Syria will come from Syria, and neither the US nor any other state can intervene,” he stated. Assad also reassured that he will not forsake his duty or his responsibilities. “ The captain does not flee his ship during a storm. The first thing he does is face the storm and guide the ship back to safety ," he said. " I am not someone who flees from my responsibilities." The president stated once again that he was open to dialogue, maintaining that he wanted what was best for the Syrian people. However he underlined that there would be no dialogue with terrorists. “Terrorism struck the United States and Europe – of course no government is willing to negotiate with terrorists. A dialogue with political force, but not with a terrorist who decapitates, murders and uses toxic gases which are chemical weapons,” he stated. The Syrian civil war has been raging for more than two years now, with more than 80,000 people killed, according to UN estimates.

Armenian Origins Of The Earliest Settlers Of Britain And Ireland In previous PARTs it was shown that the great civilizations of the Maya, Inca and the Aztec of Middle and South Americas were influenced by Armenoids; that the Polynesian, Melanesian and New Guinea Islands were subject to three waves of Armenoids and that the Polynesian language is deeply influenced by Armenian; that the Portuguese and Spanish chronicles relate as how their lands were first settled by Armenians. In PART VII and VIII we shall demonstrate, based on British ancient records, archeological remains, unearthed skulls, and place names, that the earliet settlers of the British and Irish Islands (hereafter called Isles) were migrants from Armenia, especially from the Lake VAN region. This bloodline continues even today in the ancestry of the British Princes William and Harry through their mother Princess Diana Spencer. A- The Anglo-Saxon Chronicle. The Anglo--Saxon Chronicle was created in late 9th century A.D.. and written in Old English. It is a collection of annals of history of the Anglo-Saxons. The period of its writing is during the reign of Alfred the Great (871-899). Copies of the original were made and distributed to major monasteries in England. The original manuscript is extant, but nine copies have survived with modifications made to them. These copies remain in Britain. The Chronicle starts with the earliest date of 60 B.C., the year Caesar invaded Britain; thereafter, recording year by year the history of Britain. The Chrnicle is the original and authentic testimony of contemporary writers of the day. It represents the chronological history of the people of Britain and Ireland, described by different scribes at different ages which combined to give a panoramic view of the history. In some versions the various scribes altered parts of the original manuscript. But as a whole, the collection is the most important historical source of British history recording the events between the Roman conquest of England to the time of the Norman Conquest. Beside history, the Chronicle gives information about the Middle English language and vernacular language of the scribes who made the copies. The earliest manuscript was written by a scribe c. 891 A.D. in Wessex. Above is the picture of the first page of the Chronicle. The first six lines read as follows: ”The Island Britain is 800 miles long, and 200 miles broad. And there are in the island five nations; English, Welsh (or British), Scottish, Pictish, and Latin. The first inhabitants were the Britons, who came from Armenia and first peopled Britain southward.” It is significant that Armenia is mentioned as the original homeland of the British, while the other nations are not given a specific homeland, except the Picts who came from Scythia––Scythia is a broad term that encompasses Russian steppes. What say ye, will ask the reader? The first inhabitants of Britain, the British nation, came from Armenia? Does that mean the British are of Armenian blood? This statement by the Chronicle that the British came form Armenia waxes the Armenophobe scholars and does not agree with their anti-Armenian stance. Why? The reader may ask? The reason is the following: In 731 A.D., Bede, also known as Saint Bede the Venerable, wrote in Latin, the book Historia Ecclesiastica Gentes Anglorum, that is An Ecclesiastical History of English people. This book as can be seen was written 160 years before the Chronicle. As the book titles indicates, the book recorded the events of Christianization of
Britain from the time of Roman conquest to Bede’s time. Now this is what Bede says about populating of Britain: “The island at present, following the number of the books in which the Divine law was written, contains five nations, the English, Britons, Scots, Picts, and Latins, each in its own pecular dialect cultivating the sublime study of Divine truth. The Latin tongue is by the study of the Scriptures, become common to all the rest. At first this island had no other inhabitants but the Britons, from whom it derived its name, and who coming over into Britain, as is reported, from Armorica [De tractu Armoricano], possessed themselves of the southern parts thereof.” Now Bede’s Ecclesiastica when compared to the Chronicle shows one major difference. In the former the Britons came from “Armorica” and in the latter from “Armenia”! And it is this two different British homelands that have caused the anti-Armenian scholars the ammunition to claim that the scribe of the Chronicle made a mistake inserting Armenia instead of Armorica. But who was correct, Bede who wrote that the British came from the north-western small penninsula of France or the Chronicle that brings the British from far away Armenia? When speaking of the Picts, both Bede and the Chronicle state that these people came form Scythia. Now Scythia is the steppes of Russia whose domain extended as far as the borders of Central Asia to the East and Armenia to the South. Scythia is as far away a land, and more so, than Armenia. And yet no scholar rejects the coming of the Picts from Scythia! And no “learned” historian questions as where from did the Armoricans come? In this brief study we shall research not just what Bede or the Chronicle say about the original homeland of the most ancient settlers of both Isles. We shall research the evidence that indeed since Stone Age, the Isles were settled by hunter-gatherer tribes from the Lake Van region of Armenia, c. following the Ice Age meltdown. The evidence that will be searched for are the skeletal remains of the most ancient dwellers of the Isles, the material culture they left behind; such as stone tools, weapons and artifacts; and the toponyms or names of rivers, mountains, towns and villages that correspond to the Van region of Armenia. The migrations were in two waves. The Stone Age primitive people who are described as of shorter stature. And the second wave of the Armeno-Aryans, who were taller and who possessed knowlege of agriculture; horse and animal husbandry; who could build wheeled carts for long distnce travel; and knew how to mine metals, smelt them and make bronze or iron weapons and artifacts. These scientific search shall once and for all demonstrte that indeed the Chronicle was correct that the origin of the British should be searched in Armenia! To be continued in the next issue: How the Armenian people from VAN region migrated and settled in British and Irish Islands?

Obama Said That The US Reserves The Right To Resort To Diplomatic And Military Options The controversy comes as a joint news conference with Turkish Prime Minster, Tayyip Erdogan, and President Obama was held Thursday. Obama said that the US reserves the right to resort to diplomatic and military options if there is conclusive proof that Assad has used chemical weapons. "There are a whole range of options that the United States is already engaged in… And I reserve the options of taking additional steps, both diplomatic and military, because those chemical weapons inside of Syria also threaten our security over the long term as well as our allies and friends and neighbors." US President Barack Obama and Turkish Prime Minister Recep Erdogan hold a joint press conference in the Rose Garden of the White House in Washington, DC, May 16, 2013. (AFP Photo / Saul Loeb) Erdogan, for his part, added that “ending this bloody process in Syria and meeting the legitimate demands of the people by establishing a new government are two areas where we are in full agreement with the US. We also agree that we have to prevent Syria from becoming an area for terrorist organizations. We also agree that chemical weapons

should not be used.” But Aleksandr Lukashevich, a spokesman for the Russian Foreign Ministry, said Monday that the accusation that the Syrian regime has used chemical weapons could be a sign that public opinion is being prepared for the possibility of military intervention in Syria. “A lot of reasoning appeared in a number of Arab and other international mass media regarding the use of chemical weapons in the standoff between the government forces and the opposition guerrillas,” he warned.
Battle for strategic Qusair
Syrian Army, Hezbollah Fight Rebels For Supply Corridor Qusair Town Near Homs Intense fighting is reported from the strategic Syrian town of Qusair, as rebels and government forces fight to control the area. Opposition activists say 30 members of Hezbollah were killed, while the government claims to have captured the area. Earlier Monday, Syrian state news agency SANA reported that the army had "restored security and stability to most Qusair neighborhoods" and was "chasing the remnants of the terrorists in the northern district.” The agency quoted a military source as saying that army units dismantled a number of explosive devices, planted by terrorists in al-Souk area in the middle of the city. The source added that army units are continuing hunting the remnants of terrorists in some hideouts in the northern and southern areas of the city. “The Syrian army managed to make a full circle around the city, fighting the opposition fighters. The main achievement is to stop the line of supply chain between Lebanon and Syria,” local journalist Abdallah Mawazini told RT. “They started from the western side of the city, in the rural areas. They control this zone with some fighters from Lebanon. Some extremist groups were preparing to go into Syria to fight with the rebels, they were going to go make a bigger front in
order to fight and expand the fighting line between the government and the opposition,” he said. But opposition activists denied that Qusair had been captured, saying that they had pushed back most of the attacking forces to their original positions, destroying at least four Syrian army tanks and five light Hezbollah vehicles. Troops backed by Hezbollah “made incursions into Qusair, but they are now basically back to where they started at the security compounds in east Qusair and at a...roadblock to the south,” local activist Tareq Murei told Reuters. Murei said that six people were killed by Hezbollah’s multiple rocket launches on Monday. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said that 48 rebels had been killed, as well as four civilians. The Observatory's director, Rahim Abdurahman, put Hezbollah casualties at 23 dead and 70 wounded. Lebanese security sources said at least 12 Hezbollah fighters had been killed. Qusair, which is about 18 miles (29km) southwest of Homs, is seen as a key city for both sides. It helps link the Syrian capital of Damascus with government strongholds on the Mediterranean coast and is a passageway for rebel supplies and fighters from Lebanon.

Speaking to Lebanon's Al Mayadeen TV channel Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said Moscow will make no “backstage” agreements on Syria in exchange for Western concessions on missile defense or any other disputed issues. “This is not serious. I think that those who try suggest that indulge in wishful thinking,” Lavrov said in an interview with Lebanon's Al Mayadeen TV channel. “Everyone knows well that Russia’s stance on a whole range of crucial issues is not opportunistic,” the Russian top diplomat emphasized.
Israel Armenians: Opening Of Evening School To Help Uphold National Identity PanARMENIAN.Net - Opening of an evening school is the greatest achievement of Ararat, the Union of Armenians of Israel, the press attaché of the Union said. As Mendel Korsunski to PanARMENIAN.Net the evening school can help uphold national identity among Armenian children. “The school promotes native language study and national culture awareness, so that despite the distance, children don’t lose touch with their historic homeland.” Korsunski said. As he noted, the project became possible through the efforts of a member of the Armenian community of Israel Knarik Gevorgyan, with Armenian Diaspora Ministry extending significant assistance by providing school program and textbooks in Armenian.
Lavrov: Opposition Must Attend Syria Conference Without Preconditions PanARMENIAN.Net - Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on Monday, May 20 that it is crucial for Syrian opposition representatives to take part in a peace conference without setting any preconditions, apparently referring to demands for President Bashar al-Assad's exit, according to Reuters. Lavrov also reiterated that Iran must be among nations invited to the conference that Russia and the United States are trying to organize to seek a resolution to the more than two-year-old conflict that has killed at least 80,000 people.
The report says that, “The panel also recommended sanctions against the Hesong Trading Corporation, a subsidiary of the Korea Mining Development Trading Corp., which was involved in trying to sell 70 North Korean portable anti-aircraft missiles to Azerbaijan. British arms dealer Michael Ranger was convicted in July 2012 of attempting to sell the missiles, and the panel also recommended that the U.N. put his primary contact at Hesong, O HakChol, on the sanctions list. "There is an e-mail correspondence with his arms supplier in North Korea. Ranger boasted that he was a guest of the Azerbaijani government, where he was taken around by a prestigious limousine at the time of the visit, while he was discussing the procurement of missiles. He also told the American producer of pistols Berettas, that in February 2010 he had received orders from the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Azerbaijan after meeting with "two people who were directly working with the president." This confirms Ranger’s intention to break the embargo," in the material states.
Venezuela Says Taking Steps To Restore U.S. Diplomatic Ties Venezuela's recent designation of an acting head of its diplomatic mission in the United States shows the OPEC nation's desire to restore full diplomatic relations, the foreign minister said in an interview broadcast on Sunday, according to Reuters. Disputes between Caracas and Washington were common during the 14-yearrule of late socialist leader Hugo Chavez, leaving both nations without ambassadors in each other's capitals. Foreign Minister Elias Jaua suggested in a televised interview that the move to name government ally Calixto Ortega as charge d'affaires in Washington could be a prelude to restoring ambassadors. "This is a message for U.S. politicians so they understand Venezuela's desire to normalize relations ... via the designation of the highest diplomatic authorities," he said. "Why? Because the United States remains our top trade partner." Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro has in recent months said he wants better ties with Washington as long as the relationship is respectful. But he has also accused the United States of seeking to destabilize the country. Last month, he slammed the United States for "vulgar" meddling after the State Department said it had not decided if it would recognize his presidency and supported opposition calls for a vote recount after the April 14 election.
