We will open the book, it’s pages are blank. We are going to put words on them ourselves. The book is called opportunity and its first chapter is New Year’s day! Edith Lovejoy Pierce www.nourishpublication.com

May your year be filled with many wonderful adventures that fill your heart and soul with joy! Here we are on the cusp of a New Year and instead of reflecting on what has been I want each of us to take a moment to breathe deep. Breathe deep and look upon this month as exactly what it is. Much like a new car, can you smell the newness of this coming year? It is either the first stepping stone on a new path or a continuation of the path you were on. It is not the year, for they come and go whether we wish them to or not, it is what is in our hearts, minds and souls that determine which path is presented to us. It is not the year, but our perceptions of what is to be, that will foretell how the year unfolds. People wait for the old year to be over and the new one to begin when the old year has had challenges. Yet the new year could have just as many challenges, for we do not see what is going to arrive until it is presented to us. It is best to have no expectations going into a new year, but rather go in with an open heart and mind and accept that whatever “gifts” come to you, be Nourish is a global magazine that is produced in Burnaby BC, Canada www.nourishpublication.com All content ©2011 - 2013 by Nourish Publication

they wrapped in distressing chaos or beautiful sparkling joy, you will be able to enjoy them. Yes, even the gifts wrapped in chaos can be enjoyed for the lessons and growth they bring. Enjoyed for the strength they impart upon you and for the faith in yourself that you will see it through to the other side. So as we each collectively take a deep breathe and carefully insert our toes in 2014 to check the flow… what are you seeing? A new path? Or a continuation of 2013? From my perspective I see each of us moving forward on a new path. One that is filled each day with something new that brings us joy or the opportunity to grow and learn. It is filled with love, faith, and hope. And that is what carries us into this beautiful year of 2014…. Love, Faith, Hope, Peace, Prosperity, Joy, Abundance, Serenity, and Fun. Enjoy 2014 and all the amazing gifts it will bring you! Namaste’ Marlene

dra·ma ˈdrämə/dra·ma ˈdrämə/ noun 1.a play for theater, radio, or television. drama as a genre or style of literature. 2. an exciting, emotional, or unexpected series of events or set of circumstances. Drama when it plays out in a novel, TV program, or movie transports us from our day to day life, a brief break from our cares and worries. Drama typically tells a serious story represented by the actors impersonating the characters, and the best performances have us liking or hating the characters. In our own lives we have situations which can cause drama. Something comes up and how we react sets the stage. It does not matter what the something is, the only criteria is how serious we perceive it to be. Make no mistake drama is often warranted. Some people are addicted to drama and we tend to label them drama queens, even though drama is not gender neutral. People who are addicted to drama constantly seem to have something serious going on in their life, to the point where it is often debilitating. I am sure that all of us has just such a person in our lives. Maybe you are addicted to drama. Would you know if that was the case? What entices us to become drama junkies can be attributed to a number of things, 1) the adrenaline rush, 2) the attention it brings to us, 3) low self-esteem, and 4) people who like to be in control (more affectionately known as control freaks). Drama’s side effects are stress and anxiety. It has been proven that the toll drama takes on us, mentally, physically, and emotionally shortens our lives. Yet we still engage. In a world that would have us drop the drama, how exactly do we do that? It actually amazes me that most people hate drama and yet continue to engage in it. This leads me to believe that, while we dislike it, we don’t know how to break the pattern and drop the drama from our lives. If we had the tools we would perhaps engage less, or at least be more cognizant and shorten the production when it does happen. People who love engaging in drama, whether aware they do or not, don’t tend to want to break the cycle. It gives them a high. The first hurdle to overcoming drama in your life is to know that you are strong enough and smart enough to deal with it. YOU are not a VICTIM. Whatever is creating the drama is something you can deal with. Really there are two options and one is to stay in drama mode and play the victim over and over (think type casting here), the other is to be the victor (think captain of your own

www.nourishpublication.com

ship) and deal with it. Remember that how you feel determines your attitude, which determines your actions, which determines the outcome. One of the most common drama creators is when we expect A and are served B. Some examples of this are – You and your spouse planned a date night and the sitter cancels at the last minute; you are in line for a promotion at work and don’t get it; or a bonus has been promised at work and turns out to be a fruit basket instead of the cash you were expecting. Your response (feelings/attitude) is the key to whether or not the situation becomes a crisis, and that in turn determines the impact (outcome) it has on your life. When an upset happens, meaning you have an intention and it doesn’t work out, if you allow yourself to sit around upset, lashing out at yourself or those around you, then that is where you will stay. You are allowing drama to enter your life by feeding it with your feelings, attitude and action. Recognize that feeling bad about what has transpired is not going to change the outcome or resolve the issue. Instead take a breath; remind yourself that everything has a way of working out. The point is, that while you are momentarily disappointed, there is no need to play the role of victim. You have the power to change the situation and have it work in your favor. The first level of drama sits at the surface, from the first second when unexpected news hits you. Typically the first thing done after the initial news hits is the blame game. The he said/she said stage, then this happened and then …. It can carry on infinitely, and usually the experience is retold to everyone you meet. Our emotions have taken over and we are entrenched in drama. Everyone is guilty of experiencing this level at some point. It comes down to being aware that we are upset by the unexpected news and instead of allowing ourselves to be drawn in to the blame game, we should stop and pause for a moment. If we recognize when this is happening and we can diffuse it before it goes to the next level, eventually this level happens less frequently. The second level of drama is the fix it level. This is where we look at doing damage control. What we are looking for is the quick way to fix the situation and get back to normal. We all like normal, we want to have things the way they were, and we want to feel good. Unless of course drama is your game, and then the rush you are experiencing is feeding some inner need. We want to move on and have it be behind us. Usually what ends up happening is it shows up again in our life and we start the cycle over again. Level one – surface – expectation is not met; blame is thrown around, emotional reaction. Level two – damage control, quickly fix so we can be back to normal, move on.

7

Marlene Cobb What if we took it another step? The third level is looking at what role we play in the situation, the choice level. This is an interesting level because it is about choice, more specifically who we will be within the situation. At this point we come back to the victim or victor. Even if we cannot change the situation right at that moment, we do have a choice. This is a huge step; we are claiming responsibility and choice in the matter. From that place we can create something new. We are opening the door for transformation to occur. If your choice is to be the victim you will keep in the cycle of replaying the experience and looking for the quick fix. If you decide that you are not going to let the experience bring you down, you are choosing to be the victor. There can be no drama if you choose to be the victor because you have accepted the experience and are working towards resolution.

nize when to step away. Realize you hold within you all the tools you need in order to honor the seriousness of the story happening to you with the joy of getting to select which role you will play. Imagine the freedom that will bring to your life. Not only will you get to write, produce, direct and star in your story, you will get the accolades of a job well done and recognition beyond anything you have previously experienced. What wants to happen? Ask and then go for it! What h a v e you got to lose? Connect with Marlene at www.merrlina.com

The fourth level is the level of opportunity. Every drama we have in life is an opportunity for us to learn something about ourselves and for us to grow. It helps us to recognize what is not working, what wants to be changed and what wants to be healed. The drama is the alarm going off, alerting us that something wants to shift and transform. Powerful questions you can ask at this stage is “what wants to happen?” or “what is the opportunity here?” As the answers come to you, you will switch between the choice level and the opportunity level. Knowing that you are always free to choose the role you will play makes it easier to open to the opportunities presented to you. The deeper you go into the opportunities, the clearer your choices become. The end result is your perception changes and you are able to move forward with new levels of insight and clarity. The first two levels – drama and fix it – tend to perpetuate as a life of struggle and problem solving. We are giving away our power to something outside of us. The third and fourth levels – choice and opportunity – give us back our power. We are then consciously choosing who we will be in the situation. This empowers us to break free of the struggle, victim mode and create new realities for ourselves that are more in alignment of who we truly are. Living at the choice and opportunity level starts with being focused and disciplined enough to step away from drama. It then asks that you are courageous enough to name the opportunity rather than just look for the quick fix to solve the problem. This year see if you can detach from the drama in your life. What will happen when you start looking for the opportunities instead of embracing the drama? It might take some serious work on your part to recog-

Your mind is a sacred enclosure into which nothing harmful can enter except by your permission. Ralph Waldo Emerson

Emotional turmoil occurs when we put a negative interpretation on whatever is happening in our lives. Often the struggle is with attachment—wanting things to be a certain way or people to act in accordance with our wishes, or it is with a reluctance to accept change. It is almost as though individuals feel under attack; or that the Universe is consciously sabotaging our plans or wishes. Sometimes the source of angst is comments from others, or knowledge that someone is not pleased with us. I have witnessed clients agonize for days or years over negative judgments others hold of them. They vacillate between defending themselves and launching their own attacks—if only in their thoughts—against their critics. Disappointment in others, or in the way things are, creates toxicity in our mind/body system. This is not to say that we should never be disappointed, only that we should not remain in this state, dwelling upon the awfulness of it all. We either decide there is nothing we can do, and let it go, or we determine an appropriate course of action, moving forward to implement it. Then we let it go. Of course many things will happen in life that go against our preferences. We can develop the grace that comes from our essential humility: we are not, after all, in charge of very much. We do have control over how we interpret events, and how we react. Witness two scenes from the movie, Titanic. First, consider the orchestra members who continued to make music as the ship slowly sank. They knew the end was near, but boldly chose to do what they loved right to the end, in spite of their fear. Then there was the elderly couple who also knew it was the end, and chose to lay in each other’s arms, rather than to participate in a panic-filled escape attempt which would surely have separated them.

www.nourishpublication.com

Thankfully, our challenges generally are not of this magnitude. If we begin to think of our minds as sacred enclosures, we can be very selective as to what we allow to circulate in them. As with a garden, we can weed it regularly, getting rid of anything that detracts from what we wish to cultivate. As we choose to avoid toxic chemicals, so we can avoid toxic thoughts. Toxic thoughts include those that are judgmental, critical, or polarizing—either in relation to others or ourselves. Such thoughts may originate in our own minds, or may come from what others say. Tempting as it can be to gossip, doing so fills our consciousness with toxicity. When we listen to such talk, we are giving another permission to contaminate our sacred enclosure. When we say such things, we contaminate the consciousness of others. Self-talk can be just as damaging. Self-criticism undermines our sense of worth and creates inner agitation. It can be such an integral part of our daily thinking process that we may be scarcely aware we are doing it. It may have nothing at all to do with others, but rather forms a regular negative self-evaluation related to appearance or performance. Some individuals contaminate their own minds in the complete absence of any negativity from others. In spite of an outward appearance of success, they undermine themselves from within. Self-talk can also occur in relation to others. When upset, we often carry both sides of an imaginary conversation with an adversary. The physical body does not differentiate between the stresses generated by real conversations or imaginary ones. When we play real or imaginary conversations over and over in our minds, we continue to re-contaminate ourselves. Toxic thoughts are like viruses. Developing wisdom and peace of mind requires that we strengthen the ‘immune system’ of our consciousness. We do this by choosing healthy patterns in our dealings with others, in our relationship with ourselves. It also requires setting clear boundaries with ourselves and others—making a conscious decision to no longer entertain toxic thoughts or conversations. Regardless of what is happening in our lives, we can keep ourselves from being harmed in the same way that health care workers can avoid contracting the illnesses they treat. If we develop a healthy ‘immunity’ to psychological toxicity by adopting strong values and clear boundaries, and practice good ‘mental hygiene’, our minds will become not only sacred enclosures, but peaceful sanctuaries. Fifteen years ago my life changed with one simple act. I sat down to meditate. Within the space that was created I experienced flashes of faces, color and peace. I had allowed myself the space to just be and in that being was another world that I began to explore. I have had many teachers along the way both in the physical world and in the non-physical world. There was a constant message of love being delivered to me. I began to know with every fiber of my being that this was all there was. One day I heard this; NOTHING is set in stone. Everything can change in an instant. This is a message for 2014. Despite outward appearances, nothing is set in stone. Change is happening at a rate that was previously not possible. We are the ones allowing for this to occur. Love is the underlying current that is driving the changes that are unfolding. We are encoded with love and it is who we are, underneath the fears that we carry. Change is the only the other constant. Our bodies respond to our environment, our thoughts and to the energetic soup that surrounds us. Some of these energies, more than we know, are being beamed in from Source and other helpful beings. These energies are not meant to change us, though that will happen. They are meant to support the changes that our hearts are searching for. We are beings of magnificent light and love and many have forgotten how wonderful they are. Now, across the planet there is an awakening of our spirit, of our essential nature. Our hearts are no longer comfortable with the status quo. We want more. That wanting is the driving force of change. You are not to judge the wanting. Each one of you will want something different and many will want some of the same. The desire to create something is unique and those desires will support, enhance and birth the changes that so many of you are looking for.

ic imprint and many of the younger ones will be returning quite quickly to the playground of planet earth. It is where all the action and adventure is. Many of you will have noticed the young ones who are making themselves known to you whose interests are spread across the many aspects of life on planet earth. They will have unusual and unusually simple solutions to many of your “problems. But, make no mistake about them. They are on your planet for the adventure too! They are there to have their experiences and to grow the aspects of their human experience. They will not want to be seen as saviors. They are merely being who they are, unfettered by the old energies. Their very presence will be a reminder to you to be who you are. That is what your planet is responding to, the beautiful planet who is also birthing a new way of being. Change is the constant and some things will be seemingly lost and more will be revealed. It is far from over and the doomsday proponents are quickly losing steam as they finally see that life will go on. It will not look the same. Did you want it to? You cannot go back in time, only forward and create a new world for yourselves and those that will follow and they will do the same again. It is never ended. What you thought was an ending was merely a beginning of something more interesting, something more like the love that is encoded in your beings. We want you to feel that and know the truth that all is well. Your life on planet earth, this time around, is merely a small part of who you be. You are a creation of many experiences, many adventures that round out your energetic expression. Your energetic imprint is valuable to your planet and to us and to the universes. Each one of you is valuable, far beyond what we can convey in words. Even those that you deem unsuitable and cry against their actions and who they seem to be, are valuable. You dear ones have been that too, perhaps not this time around, but you have been. It is all part of the human experience.

There are so many ways to heal yourselves and your planet. That is why so many of you are in on this together. You will see some leaving, sometimes in larger numbers than what makes you comfortable but know that they are welcomed home with grand celebration.

You are all one. Your very beings are interconnected with each other. This was another gift that Linda received in meditation as she watched faces morph one into the other in front of her. It left her awed and a little breathless with the realization. But, as with many of you, the experience can be forgotten until remembered, just at the time that you need to remember.

Their lives and their deaths are part of the unfolding of a new way of being. They leave behind their energet-

You will be playing with others that you haven’t played with for long time. You will create this new world that you can feel in your heart of possibilities. It will be a world where love is more dominant than ever before. There will still be challenges and solutions to be found, but many of you will have a knowing that this is all part of your adventure. Change is the only constant. We celebrate the changes. You are part of the changes. We highly recommend embracing the changes that appear before you. Ask yourself what it means to you. That is all that matters. What does it mean to you-not for you-but to you. Do you see the gentle difference that implies? Everyone has their own perspective and you are the ones who give meaning to what is around you. You get to choose and you have always been able to choose. You can choose to be joyful, which we highly recommend and you can choose to allow the love that you are encoded with to be the most dominant force in your life, which we highly recommend also. When you pair those two aspects together then your lives will be a reflection of the magnificent beings of light and love that you are. Miracles will unfold and multiply. Doors will open that were previously closed, people will come to you looking to co-create with you in the same way and you dear ones will become the masters of living that you want to be. Change is the only constant. You are all evolving, including the magnificent light being that you are. You didn’t think that was unchanging did you?

Essential Oils– Vera Enshaw

www.nourishpublication.com

16

Why would someone use essential oils during cold and flu season? Because they can help to boost your immune system and keep you free of the nasties that are running rampant at this time of year, that’s why! If you are interested in staying upright and mobile while people around you are dropping to the current virus, there are some wonderful single oils and blends that can assist you. The first thing you need to remember is that essential oils need to be used regularly and often. It is not a matter of putting a drop on your feet first thing in the morning and letting it go at that. Different oils have varying “flash points” - the time from when you apply them to when they dissipate completely into the air. The more often you use them, the more good they will do. Dilute them with an organic carrier oil—almond or grape seed is nice, but olive oil works just as well! If you have it, V-6 Mixing Oil from Young Living is awesome. Diffusing these oils in your home and/or your workplace if possible is another way to keep yourself—and your living/being spaces—clear of unwanted bacteria and viruses. I also put several drops of one or more of these oils in a gelatin capsule and swallow it with some water. I tend to do this more just before I go to bed (give it ten minutes to settle in the stomach before you lie down) and when I get up in the morning if I’m feeling that tickle in my throat—and if I can get to it and I’m feeling the need I will also take one or two during the day. Thieves® is an incredibly powerful tool in your oils cabinet. I put a drop on my fingers, rub my fingers together and then swipe down the glands on either side of my neck. That’s daily. Every morning. And if someone around me has activated their immune systems, I do it more often. I also swab the back of my throat with a bit of Thieves® on my finger or put a drop on my tongue—especially if I’m feeling a tickle in my throat. Put a drop in the palm of your hand, rub your hands together lightly then cup your hands over your nose and breathe in the vapor. Can’t get at the oil, and you’re on the bus with someone who is coughing? Carry some on a tissue or a cotton swab in a plastic baggie. Open the bag and breathe in! If you can reach the bottom of your feet regularly, by all means rub a drop on the area under your toes—this relates to the sinus, your big toe represents your neck and brain…

(also known as Rosalina) is a gentler oil for use with children and people who have a sensitivity to strong smells. Oregano is incredibly powerful. Always dilute oregano as it is a very hot oil. This is one oil that is probably best used neat on the bottom of your feet. And remember—wash your hands. It may seem like a no-brainer, but washing our hands is something that we don’t do often enough. If you have them, Thieves® foaming hand cleaner or Thieves® waterless hand purifier are great, otherwise any gentle soap will do. Wash the food you are going to eat. I wash all my fruits and vegetables in a mild solution of water and food-grade hydrogen peroxide (available at some health food stores). I also keep a bottle of Thieves ® foaming hand cleaner at my kitchen sink and when I just have a couple of things to clean I put a dollop on my hand and wash the item with that. There are times when something will slide in, no matter how many precautions we take. If you do come down with something, you will most likely have a less severe reaction than the people around you have had. Continue using your oils—they will help your immune system deal with the infection. A parting thought: If you’ve got them, use them. If you don’t have them, get them and then use them. If you don’t use them, they aren’t going to do you a lot of good! Lavender—everyone’s favorite oil! - is also incredibly effective against the bugs that are rampant out there. Use it the same way as Thieves. It has the added benefit of calming and relaxing, so you’ll sleep better and you’ll be able to relax and not worry about being hit with a bug! If lavender is the only tool in your kit you have a very good chance of being able to ward off any of the bugs and bacteria that come your way! The winter months are upon us. For some these are the hardest months of the year to navigate. SAD (seasonal affective disorder) or winter blues affects approx. 6 out of every 100 people. The symptoms and severity can vary with each person. Triggered by the cold, dreary, grey days of the coming months the winter blues can really bring you down. Listed here are some fun, affordable ways to help you manage the next few months. If you do suffer from the winter blues it' s important to talk to your doctor about your symptoms. Left untreated a case of the winter blues can progress to become a disabling or even life -threatening case of depression. While none of the ideas shared here will harm you it is best to not self diagnose and get the appropriate care you need. Here’s to a healthy January!

Get enough sleep! It is natural to want to sleep more in the winter. Ensure that you are getting 7—8 hours a night.

Maintain a healthy diet . Vitamin D is something our bodies get from the sun. Less sun means less vitamin D, take a supplement or eat foods rich in vitamin D.

Exercise—Releases those feel good chemicals.

Embrace the season. Instead of bemoaning the snow and cold look for the positive. Children love winter, bundled up they are off on adventures of building snowmen, winter forts sledding and plotting the next snowball fight! Find some winter activities that you can enjoy. If all else fails buy some bright winter outer wear and be warm!

Socialize! Get together with friends for some laughs. Even a phone call can brighten spirits.

If you live in an area that does not r ec ei v e much sunlight during the winter months ,invest in a light therapy box . Daylight lamps trick the subconscious into believing the days are longer and sunny.

Treat yourself to a massage or spa day! Planning a spa day gives you something to look forward to. It is also relaxing which is just what the doctor ordered. If you are on a tight budget or in between spa days treat yourself to aromatherapy bubble baths.

Marlene Cobb

(Find the list here www.heavenonearthmusic.net/ cdpageeng.htm) This month we are listening to “Universal Laws”

Peter Clérin who Nourish has featured a couple of times is a unique individual spreading light and love in Quebec and beyond. I say beyond as he has traveled with his music and also has it readily available on iTunes and at Amazon. This month I would like to focus on Peter’s music, Spiritual Vibration Music. In Peter’s own words (from his website www.heavenonearthmusic.net) “The Archangel Gabriel“ who takes charge of Creation, helps me compose a Celestial music. I am also accompanied by the Archangel Raphaël for the healing of the physical, emotional and mental bodies. With these two Archangels, this music, which comes from the other side, can help you raise the vibration of your soul. May peace be with you!“ Peace definitely is what comes over you as you listen to his music. Peter has 3 new cd’s out Angel Hierarchy, Universal Laws, and Soul Families. Bringing his total to 13 cd’s, which are all beautifully composed pieces with a different flare. Whether you want music to meditate with, for your healing practice or just to kick back and relax you will want to check them out. Each cd listed has a sampling of each song so you can have a brief listen before purchasing.

www.nourishpublication.com

The song titles for Universal Laws are; Law of Love, Law of Compassion, Law of Cause and Effect, Law of Interdependence, Law of the Middle, Law of Focus, Law of Attraction, Law of Truth, Law of Growth, Law of Grace, Law of One. Peter’s description on his website for this cd is as follows: “The Universal Laws are also eternal laws. They apply in all dimensions and all levels. When we know a little more about the universal laws, we can better see the synchronicity of events and the direct link between our thoughts and what manifests in our lives. Because thought creates. This music awakens the consciousness and impregnates us with the spirit of the universal laws.“ While typing out the track titles for this cd a few jumped out at me and I knew I would be listening to them. The first was Law of Cause and Effect…. This starts off very bold! Like I am rushing forth with some22

thing and not caring much about what is around me. I have the goal in sight and nothing is going to stop me. However as this brief 42 second bite gets to the end there is a softening. Like something is giving me pause and my hurry slows down to a pace where I can see what is around me instead of rushing forward. I think I might have to purchase this cd so as to listen to this piece as a whole. My next selection was Law of Truth. I will say that the opening notes were very cutting‌ much like truth can be. Yet through the cutting edge there was also great clarity. It felt like I was being cleansed of lower energies and being raised above to a higher vibration. Very much had the sense that while truth can cut to the very core it is also healing and soothing.

With all the hustle of the holiday season I did not reach out to others for a review. I decided that it would be best if you took a few moments to indulge in this wonderful music and sent along a brief note to Peter. What songs did you listen to? What inspirations did you garner from them? Peter would love to have your feedback. Click on the icons below to purchase: Amazon.com

My last selection was Law of One. Ahh this was like coming home. It felt as if I was being joined in a circle by all beings who reside on earth and in the ethers. Verifying that we are all one and what each of us does impacts many whether we are aware of it or not.

Well, here we are plunked into 2014 already! The great thing about January is we get to start all over again on a New Year. Some of us go charging out of the gate on day one, resolutions and goals well in hand. But most of us seem to dawdle as we look over our shoulders at what we didn’t finish in 2013. I don’t know about you, but I have a list of unfinished business that still needs attending to. It’s hard for me to look with excitement on 2014 with my list of unfinished business more or less screaming at me. This is a perfect lead in to what I want to talk about today: The importance of beginning with endings. Let me explain what I mean. Unfinished business is like having gremlins hanging on to us. It’s like the gremlin is on our back and hanging onto us, weighing us down and making it hard for us to move ahead easily. Unfinished business can be any number of things, big or small: a promise you made and didn’t keep; a phone call to contacts you are too frightened to dial; a gift to buy; report to finish; a bag of clothes you meant to take to the recycle store. Little things left undone become big things and they grow into big blobs of stuck energy. The object of the New Year is to start out the new adventure in full use of your energy. But a bag or a list of incompletions are like parking chunks of your power and energy over on the side track, and then trying to run your Engine down the main track at partial throttle. There is just no way that you can power up to full steam without having all your energy on the main track. Unfinished business is like a gremlin sitting on your shoulder growling at you every time you take a breath. “You have to do this, you better do that, you’re bad for not doing that…” Or they stand in front of you like a wall, challenging you to get past them. The longer unfinished business stays there, the bigger and bigger IT becomes and the more energy IT takes from you. Unfinished business is like carrying around a parachute full of bricks that drags you down and makes everything you try to do harder. Incompletions are energy drainers. They · stick to us like glue ·

grow with time

·

drain our energy

·

create guilt

·

manipulate us

·

sabotage our ability to start new projects

·

steal our zest for living

www.nourishpublication.com

·

cause depression

·

even immobilize us.

The best way to start off a new project is to deal with our incompletions first off, and then we can focus our full energy on moving forward. There are two categories of incompletion gremlins. The first is one we don’t readily think about and that’s the lack of acknowledgement gremlin. The second category is made up of the things we didn’t finish, and that Gremlin can be pretty strong: the incompletion gremlin. Banishing the ‘Lack-of-Acknowledgement/ Gremlin Let’s deal with the lack-of-acknowledgment gremlin first. We seldom look at what happened ‘right’ in our lives as we rush headlong through our days, weeks, and months from one challenge or goal to another. This is true whether we were the ones responsible or someone else did something for us. But the thing is, when we DO acknowledge ourselves and others for successes, there’s an energy that’s released within us and we can plug that energy into your next big adventure or goal. It’s like closing the book on one adventure before we rush off onto another one. It’s important to review our past year’s accomplishments and successes, whether we created them or someone else created them for us. Acknowledging them closes the book on a high note of gratitude. Stay with me now, as I switch tenses and we focus on you for this process. Here’s how to close the book on your acknowledgments for the past year 1. Set a timer for 5 minutes. Take two pieces of paper and pencil or your computer and brainstorm a list of everything you accomplished on one sheet and on the second sheet list everything that someone else did to help you succeed in your projects or helped you with during the past year. Write fast and don’t edit yourself. 2. When the timer dings, put your pencil down and have a look at what you wrote. Look at the big picture. There might be a pattern that you notice. There will be some big surprises, I’m sure. Because, when you write fast in stream of consciousness, your higher self throws in lots of things you hadn’t been aware of. Look at the patterns, look at the key players and the roles they played, as well as what you did to create your successes. Write down

25

Gail Siler, PhD what you notice about them all and reflect on them. Look at the length of each list, what do you notice. Look at the types of things you did and those your received. 3. Now it’s time to acknowledge yourself and the people in your life who helped you create your successes or whose help made a big difference to you.

Begin by creating a sacred space. It’s a place that is special to you where you feel safe to be open and express your inner most feelings. Light a candle, put on some really nice music and centre yourself. Breathe in and out deeply three times. Now read out loud your list of acknowledgements to yourself for projects or things you accomplished. Then move forward to the people whom you haven’t acknowledged. They don’t have to be in the room with you, they will still get it thru the ethers. It’s completing the circle. Acknowledge yourself for things you did, ideas you had and other things on your list you made. You will feel the energy flow within you as you do this. Being grateful for the things you and others have done for you releases energy within you and closes the door on those events. Now you can move forward into your new year with the recovered energy from those completed events. Ways to Banish Incompletions Next, it’s time to deal with your incompletions. These are the things that are still weighing on you that you want to do, feel you need to do, or feel you haven’t done.

2. Prioritize your list into three areas : ·

Important to complete

·

Not important to complete

3. Now review your list for two things ·

‘Easy to complete“ tasks

Beside your easy to complete list mark a date within the next 2 weeks, by which you will have completed the task. You can select your own end time but not more than a month. Remember, you are moving into a new adventure, task, project, year, and you don’t want to dilute the energy you have for your new adventure by spending time on incompletions. ·

‘“mportant to complete“ tasks

Look again at the tasks you said you need to finish. Go through your list and assign them a number, from 1 to 5. (1 is the most important, 5 is the least) Then look at all the 1’s and 2’s you’ve identified. Put your 1’s and 2’s into a new list and assign them a date you by which will have them completed. But sure it’s before the end of the month. ·

‘Not important to complete“ list

Look at this list now, and add everything else from your lists that you haven’t identified in the first two lists (easy to complete, important to complete lists.) Be sure you get every last little worry of ‘gotta do ’and ‘should do’ out of your head and onto the paper. 4. Action plan: parts one and two ·

First, you finish your completions list by the date you set and stick to your deadlines. They are easy things to do (you said so yourself,) so hold fast and ‘just do it!’

·

The second action is the alchemical part. It’s a powerful but simple action called The ‘Forgive Yourself’ Ritual. Now comes time to take action on your incompletions that remain on your list. The actions you are taking are not related to the doing of the tasks, but instead these actions are related to your head space you hold around these undone tasks.

Here’s a simple but effective method to banish these incompletions and then gather your energy and enthusiasm back to harness for your new project, new year, or new adventure. 1. Set a Timer for 5 minutes and make a list of EVERYTHING still left on your plate that you haven’t finished yet. This should be a brainstorming process, so don’t evaluate or think about it, just let the stuff flow out of your mind and onto the list. When the timer rings, stop.

·

Easy to complete

You have a grab bag full of incompletions you’ve sorted through and you can’t or don’t have time or the interest or ability to finish them at this stage. For example: you were planning to become a rock star by the time you are 30, and just turned 40. Or you were going to create a new line of clothes that are totally expressive of your personality, but well, you’re into tights and boots and tunics now. Time to lighten the load. This one is going to surprise you by the power that it releases. The ‘Forgive Yourself/ Ritual is now called into play. Begin by moving back into your sacred space. When you are feeling centred and aligned, read out loud your list of incompletions that you aren’t going to be able to finish. Take time with this part. Then say: ““ now forgive myself for my incompletions; I take back all my energy from these projects and release all worry, guilt and concern about these incompletions. I do this with love, forgiveness and acceptance. And so it is.“

treats. Then one by one you can each read through your lists and say your forgiveness ritual individually or together. Having someone to listening to you will also increase the release you feel and the energy that flows back into you. Regardless, you will feel the energy shift whether you do it alone or with a group. Now you are ready to move full steam ahead into your next adventure without the parachute of bricks called incompletions and you’ve shaken the gremlins off your back. It’s such a wonderful feeling to watch your energy free itself and to feel the power of harnessing it to your new year and your new adventures. Connect with Gail

www.Decodingthebutterflypromise.com https://www.facebook.com/gail.siler.9?fref=ts http://www.whitewaterwellness.weebly.com

Or create your own words that work for you. The important point is to consciously and verbally ‘let go’ of these incompletions. Once you have done it you will feel an amazing lightness. The Power of Beginning with Endings First you have freed energy for yourself by acknowledging everyone including yourself for contributed to your successes and accomplishments throughout the year. And then you have forgiven yourself for the things you didn’t get done that you wanted to. You have also freed up the energy from these gremlins that weighed you down. Now you have a clean slate for the new project, New Year and new adventures, with nothing hanging over your head or hanging on your back to drag or slow our new year’s momentum down. To make this process stronger you can do it with another person, or your whole family or a group of people because when you put your energy together, it is increased exponentially. A fun way to do it is to have an impromptu gathering of friends and make your lists while we drink coffee, wine and share

Occasionally a client will spontaneously visit more than one past life in a Quantum Healing Hypnosis session. We practitioners call this leapfrogging. Sometimes you can see a theme to the lives presented and other times it seems there are multiple things the Higher Consciousness wants a client to know.

clothes (dirty), shorts and a piece of cloth wrapped around the torso, with leather wrist cuffs. The head is balding now, with grey hair and a big beard. He is wearing a hat, but really it’s just a piece of cloth to cover the head with no shape to it and he is smoking a pipe. This elder gnome has no children and considers the colony as his family.

This client leapfrogged into 5 very different and interesting lives. I would have liked to dwell longer in some of them and delve more deeply, but once I realized what was happening I knew we needed to keep each life short or we would never get to the next step in a QHHT session which is speaking with the Higher Consciousness!

He lives with about 50 others in 2 caves. It’s mainly an adult “colony” few or no children. They are very happy though, there’s lots of laughter, smiling and music is being played. In fact the client said that their spoken language sounds very similar to laughter.

This is also a great example that shows that we do indeed experience existences in many, many different forms. Primate The first life opens with the client looking at feet that look almost like hands. He (this being is male) has chocolate brown fur, no tail and a face that looks almost human but not like any primate the client recognizes in this life. He is crouched down on a beach holding food feeling very afraid of the jungle. Although he can’t see it he feels there is a lion in the jungle watching him. I ask if he’s alone? Yes, he was looking for food along the beach with the others and somehow got lost or separated because he was thirsty and was looking for drinkable water. He realizes night is coming and he doesn’t know where the others are, he wants to run and climb a tree which he does. He spends the night up in the tree but feels stupid in the morning for allowing his fear to keep him up the tree all night. In his group of primates there are about 3 families and a lot of females in his group. There is just him, his father and another male. He feels he doesn’t fit in with the females; they tend to stay together and don’t include him. He says “Girls have the strength because there are so many of them. This was a waiting life, with no purpose, just being. Gnome The client feels they are floating now and sees a cave with a light inside. They go into the cave and see what the client describes as gnome-like humanoids living inside the cave. This body is an old male (elder) with huge, thick dirty feet, very short body. The hands are much like the feet large, thick and dirty. He wears roughly woven

www.nourishpublication.com

They live mainly underground and don’t hunt or grow things to eat. They gather their plants, small birds, fish etc to eat. They find bones and use the large ones to build a scaffolding at the back of the cave because it’s dirt there and it tends to crumble. They also use the bones for decoration and to make knives and eating utensils. The client described a type of fork/spike thing they used to eat with. They are aware of large birds near them which he identified as eagles. They communicate with these eagles and have formed a symbiotic relationship with the eagles; the eagles bring them fish and tell them what they can see from the air. The gnome people tell the eagles what is underground. On his last day he is laying at the front of the cave with everyone in the colony sitting in a semi-circle behind him. Death is just a fading away of the body into the ground the client says. This is done while the group watches as sort of a ceremony. His death and fading will add needed strength to the edge of the cave. There is a sense of sadness, but gladness as well. As he passes he becomes part of the cliff and lives in that form for a while and then happily fades from that existence. Energy Stream In this life the client finds they are a very thin stream of energy and in their words “my feet touch the center of the earth and my head goes to the edge of the atmosphere” they actually don’t have any feet or head though. This is an example of an existence that is pure energy. This energy stream is blown around by some sort of wind. The colors of this energy are pale blue, white and pink and are constantly changing. The purpose of this life is to follow a line, a fault line that is liquid magma. When this energy stream passes through the line the magma becomes solid. The closer the energy stream gets to being done with their work the smaller the energy stream gets until they find

Marilyn Dyke themselves underneath the water and then on an island where they turn into crystal sand. You can see how the energy has become “embodied” now as sand. At this point the client says they can feel the water where they couldn’t feel the water while under it. So far in this session this is the first existence the client has looked at where they feel they have a purpose. When done (last day) they go up into space with darkness around them. ET Being In this life the client immediately feels discomfort in their right arm, it feels cold. They realize they are in some sort of container and their right arm is pressed against the side which is glass. They can see open space through the glass. The client says the coldness is eating the muscle. The body in this life is ET, the skin is pale green and the right arm is very long and thin because it was stretched? The hand had 3 fingers. The other arm is only ½ the length of the right one. This being is very tall and the client soon realize their right leg is also stretched and is pressed against the side as well. The foot also has 3 digits and can be used as a hand. Note“ “n this client“s “uestions to the Higher Consciousness they ask about the physical damage and problems (including arthritis) they have had in this life, strangely all down the right side of their body. This ET was a mechanic on the ship, the longer limbs helps them to perform repairs. When the procedure is done to stretch the limbs something (yellow) is injected into the joints (but as the client noted, they don’t really have joints) and it temporarily turns them into a play dough like substance. The stretching must be done quickly and then it sets. They noted that the procedure is quite uncomfortable when done. The body was modified on one side so they would be able to reach further into the mechanics of the ship to do the necessary repairs. The body wasn’t “made” this way. The client said that it is a biological body that was “incubated” and without a birth process The head is really interesting, the client said it is long and straight, like a stick, and there are no features. The head is used in the same way we use fingertips to feel. They wear special helmets which allows them to see and hear, without the helmet they don’t have those senses. The brain is in their head, but interestingly the mind and heart are in the middle of the body. I

www.nourishpublication.com

would have liked to ask their definition of brain and mind. These beings communicate telepathically with emotions. The client realizes that they are not meant to be in the pod- which they later describe as more of an un-used closet on the ship. They have been shoved in there and forgotten. The ET being had been given an assignment which was seen and noticed as a promotion and another being like them (mechanic) felt jealous because they had been on the ship longer. This other ET pushed the client into the room and forgot about them. “He feels no remorse, things like this are common in this culture, it’s a fight to get ahead culture”. The ET feels shock and surprise by the actions of this other mechanic but no one knows they are in there and no one would question where they went. Over time it gets cold and the ET falls asleep and leaves body (dies). At the end of this life the client says the body is not important, knowledge is. Human In this life the client sees a volcano, they are an infant girl floating in water beside a volcano. This is the mother’s first child. The infant’s stomach hurts because her mother doesn’t know how to take care of her and doesn’t want to accept the help of the older women, but once the mother figures it out the baby thrives and grows. They have migrated to this area with the very young and the very old. There is a sickness that attacks the skin and turns it black eventually killing the person somewhat like leprosy. This group has moved away in hopes of avoiding this sickness They are hunters mainly of a type of deer with two horns that spiral out the back of the head. An important day comes when the child is older and she’s watching some new very fancy dressed people approaching. They wear feathers, beads, jewelry. She’s never seen anyone else but her group before. From this group they find out the sickness is done and they are all invited to go with the new people and live in their village. At this point the client wants to say these people are Mayan. The little group follows these new people back to their village.

30

The HC said it would have wanted them to ask “Why do She sees a difference in how she appears and how the I time-slip?” new people look. She has very dark skin and black curly hair. These new people are lighter and have The HC answered- It’s a pre-view of what’s to come, it’s straight black hair. something the client has always done it but is just noticing it more now. In the village she meets a man, they live together and have 3 children. She is very happy with her new family. It seems at times the client realizes they are further along in time than they should be while doing someIn the next scene she’s dying, her chest is full of fluid. thing. It’s to show them that time is flexible, it’s a state Her breathing is very labored. I ask if they do anything of mind. Everyone can do this and this client is just beto help her but the client says nothing is working and no coming aware of it. one knows how to help her. Have any of you ever noticed this? I know I certainly Unfortunately the client felt they weren’t ready to leave have! that life, she didn’t want to leave the children, although she doesn’t have anything to worry about as we see the children are well looked after by the husband and his relatives. Time Slipping At the end of this session after I’ve asked all of the client’s questions I asked if there was something the client didn’t ask that the Higher Consciousness would have liked to answer. I often do this and it’s interesting to hear what the Higher Consciousness wants them to know.

For the past 2 ½ months, I’ve been absolutely on fire with my life. My mind starts racing in the middle of the night with ideas for my life coaching business or articles I want to publish so I grab the pen and paper on my night stand beside my bed and madly write them down so I can fall back asleep. I start day dreaming in the middle of a meeting as I get ideas for marketing and promoting my services and various workshops that I could put on. I am compelled to write them down so I can go back to focusing on the meeting agenda at hand. I wake up in the morning with a huge grin on my face and somehow all the small stuff doesn’t bother me anymore. This is what happens when you ignite your passion and live your life’s purpose! It’s bright, vivid, full of colour and flavour, exciting and fun filled. This is what it means to truly be successful---the kind that exists even if no one else sees it---as success means different things for each and every one of us. When you’re living a beautiful life, you are clear on what your goals are and you focus on what’s important and meaningful to you. You surround yourself with a positive environment that includes inspiration at home and at work, you participate in activities that give you joy, and you connect with positive people who add value to your life. You protect your soul from toxic situations and negative people. You stop reading all those awful newspaper articles and watching the news constantly showing you tragedies in the world. You also become aware of your own toxic thoughts and quickly transform them into positive ones by reframing them. When you experience a traumatic event, you look for the treasure in it and retell the story with a positive outcome. You know your worth and are confident in what you do and who you are as a person. You combine your passion and life purpose into a career that ignites your life and allows you to share your special gifts with the world. At the end of your life, you’ll look back and be proud for the difference you made in people’s lives. You will be someone a child can learn from.

inside your body not only affects the quality of your relationships and experiences but your health as well. Start to identify those areas you need to work on and release. You can also write a letter to someone in your journal, and give thanks for all that you have and are grateful for. You can write a list of what’s working in your life and what’s not and then go through that list and write steps you can take for positive change. To be truly successful, you need to live your life according to your own beliefs and values and not those of others to be authentically you. If you look externally for validation of who you are then you are ignoring your soul! Your soul knows the real you. In fact the only person that needs to find you acceptable is you. People may come and go in your life but you always have you no matter what happens. Stop trying to live up to other people’s expectations as you’re only setting yourself up for failure. The minute you are aware of this pattern and change your thoughts, you’re releasing the chains that are holding you back from living a beautiful life. Create a life and world that nurtures, reflects and celebrates what is meaningful to you. This is the starting point for a beautiful life. I promise you that doing it is far less difficult than laboring through the life you were taught to want by your parents. The rewards of a life created on the basis of your truth, passions and purpose are infinite and offer vibrant health, lasting wealth, loving relationships and inner contentment. I am thrilled and oh so eager to support, guide and coach you in creating a beautiful life! If you’re ready to make 2014 the most beautiful year of your life (only to be surpassed by each successive year), I invite you to call me for a personal life coaching session so I can help you set goals, and create a compelling future that both excites you and makes you feel truly ALIVE and free!

This is a beautiful life! I am grateful to say that I’m working on my beautiful life and have made huge strides to get there. My journey has been challenging but very heart-felt and genuine. I have had some great teachers in my life. They’ve shown me so many things and I use that knowledge to enrich my experiences. Journaling really helped me in all my years growing up and dealing with life’s challenges. It is very therapeutic especially when you feel there isn’t anyone you can talk to. It allows you to “mind dump” all the negativity that’s stuffed inside your body. Keeping anger, hurt, resentment, shame, blame, etc., stuffed down

Ah, little one—you are coming on this adventure with me this year? Welcome! I think we will learn a lot together. It is always wonderful to have a companion on one’s journey, yes? This year we are exploring the art of being. We might also explore the susan of being, the phil of being….and I guess we are exploring humour as well! What is being? Have you pondered this at all? I know what it isn/t. It is not doing. Being is not doing. We are all so busy doing that we tend to forget to just be. I know that I can get so caught up in doing that I forget to step back and be. “Be what?” you ask? See, that is the first question that heads us right straight back to doing. It is a bit of a paradox, isn’t it? In order to be, I must first of all be willing to stop. Right in my busy little tracks. That is not an easy thing for me to accomplish. It’s probably not easy for you, either. First of all I must come to the awareness that I have to stop. Then I have to retain that awareness long enough to do that. Stop, that is. Wait. If stopping is doing, then how am I ever going to be? Do? Be? Do? Be? Sounds like a good song, doesn’t it? Do-be-do-bedo….. So I stop. Doing. I take myself into a meditation with the intent to feel what “being” feels like. In the meditation I experience….nothing. No thing. I am somewhat

www.nourishpublication.com

confused, because I want to feel “be-ing.” Then I realize that nothing is being. Oh, the tangle that I can get into with this! If I AM — and I am! - then I require nothing in order to be. We begin our journey in this life observing those around us and we learn to do in order to be. I learn what it is I need to do in order to be a good daughter, a good wife, a good employee. I learn by observing what I need to do in order to be considered a good person, a spiritual person, a wise person. All aspects of who I want to be-come require me to do certain things. If I fail at those, I must somehow make up for it, either by striving harder or by giving up and taking the path of the rebel. This is very complex work. We read a bit, and our brains start trying to make sense of it—they do want to make a big to-do out of nothing. So for this month, I am going to leave you to ponder these thoughts. Write about it. See if at any point you can be no-thing. Can you catch yourself do-ing when you would rather be-ing? Until next month—Namaste! Contact Vera at lightvera1@gmail.com for more information.

My latest magical experience with a surprise plant Last spring I had the unique pleasure of finding I had a silver dollar tree growing in the centre of my garden plot. A seed must have floated in on the wind or been dropped by a cruising bird. I had never had this native shrub under my care before. I watched the green leaves and stock rapidly mature to five feet high. In June, deep pink and maroon flowers decorated the entire bush. In the heat of July the delicate blossoms morphed into flat paper-like pods. By August they changed to dried beige, pink, and purple and, finally, silver dollar shaped cocoons. My protected specimen was unique because it grew taller than I had ever seen, was new to the eyes of many visitors and, most magical of all, the way it rattled and tingled in the summer breeze. It could easily be called the " paper bell orchestra." I have carefully harvested all the silver dollar branches and seeds. Imagine how a small stand of these would sound? The silver dollar tree is a member of the eucalyptus family, is a native to Australia and appears in California and Pacific North West. ABBY ARMSTRONG www.nourishpublication.com

Phil Nielsen Loki - Laguz

Loki, the trickster The next god on our journey through the Elder Futhark is probably the most misunderstood of all the gods. Is Loki evil or just a mischief maker? He is the strangest of all the gods, a contradictory brew of envy and contempt for the Aesir he both helped and hindered with his trickery. When Thor’s war hammer, Mjolnir was stolen by one of Jotens (giants), it was Loki who devised a successful if demeaning plan to retrieve it. He dressed the storm god to look like Freya, the goddess of love. The giant had demanded Freya as ransom for the return Mjolnir, so Thor posed as the bride-to-be. At the wedding feast, Thor revealed himself, took back his war hammer, and vented his humiliation with a general massacre in Jotenheim. Offsetting this assistance, Loki committed numerous crimes, such as conspiring to cut off the golden tresses of Sif, Thor’s beloved wife. Her hair was eventually restored by dwarf craftsmen, who spun it from real gold and it appeared to grow naturally once more. Loki was angry with the Aesir, because they refused to admit him into their fellowship. It was his own unstable personality that kept them at bay. They both needed and despised him. It was when he conspired to commit murder that he went too far. For his part in the assassination of Balder, Asgard’s favorite son; Loki was taken to the summit of a remote mountain. There, the gods bound him on his back across three flat boulders. From a low branch of an overhanging tree they hung a poisonous snake. Venom trickled continuously from the snake’s mouth onto Loki’s face. Like many wicked husbands, he had a compassionate wife, who somehow saw through all his evil ways to the pitiful child within crying out for some recognition. Her name was Sigryn, and she ran to her fettered husband with a bowl to catch the poison before it fell but when she went and emptied the overflowing bowl, a drop or two would land on his face and he would writhe in agony, causing earthquakes. Thus will Loki and Sigryn suffer until the Ragnarok. Then the serpent will slither off to join his fellow monsters in the last great battle of the Asgard against their enemies. Loki’s bonds will break and he will satisfy his long frustrated revenge by leading all the forces of darkness against the Aesir, Aysnir, and Vanir and cause the Twilight of the Gods. Because Loki is the master shapeshifter, his rune is emblematic of strong psychic abilities. Its appearance in a cast advises reliance on intuitive awareness, our inner voice, and affirms that we are presently under the guidance or influence of otherworldly powers. As the trickster god, Loki is in his real element when synchronicity enters into the human experience. These mean-

ingful coincidences are often mischievous incidents that prompt us to recognize certain spiritual connections weaving together the threads of our daily lives. Precognitive dreams, powers of the subconscious mind, instinctual knowledge, premonitions, telepathic occurrences, and related instances of paranormal insight are generated through his rune. “The intuitive knowledge of the organic essence of the All,” Guido von List writes of this rune, “and therefore of the laws of nature, forms the unshakable foundation of Aryan sacred teachings, or Wihinei (religion). Such esoteric knowledge was communicated to the folk in symbolically formulated myths, for the naïve popular eye, unaccustomed to such deep vision and clairvoyance, could no more see the primal law than the physical eye can see the whole ocean, or the unschooled inner, spiritual eye the endlessness of life in the All.” Loki’s glyph, now known as Laguz, stands for strong memory skills and an ability to learn more. Inverted, it stands for deceit and overreaching ambition. Betrayal and misunderstandings are in the air. We have not properly read our own instincts. We are out of our depth and over our head in a project or dilemma beyond our powers to control or escape. Possibly severe difficulties are in the offing; because temptations or our own selfishness or laziness have misled us into thinking that we can somehow avoid the consequences of our evil actions. We sought to sacrifice right for an easy path, and we are forced to pay the penalty. Imagination has degenerated into self-deception. Guido von List warns that the Loki rune reversed can mean downfall and defeat. Loki’s gemstone is malachite, because, according to Kunz, it protects wears “from the attacks of venomous creatures.” His green –with- envy runes occupies place in the Norse zodiac known as Thrymheim, the Noisy Castle, within Taurus, from April 21 to May 20. Thrymheim was the giant’s fortress from which Loki rescued Iduna. Despite this heroic act, he was still forbidden by the gods, to eat her golden apples of eternal youth. That refusal, while justifiable, nevertheless will help set in motion the Ragnarok, The Twilight of the Gods.

Solar cycles … New and Full Moons – it is important to step outdoors and connect to our sky, both at night dusk - dawn and during the day sunrise - sunset. When we do this we inherently connect to our genetic/collective habits and patterns of our multi-dimensional bodies. Tracking the conditions of our solar and lunar patterns provides insight on the regeneration of our whole being. By tracking this information you awaken to consciousness of patterns and habits that lie deeply within you. This can be easier said than done of course but each time you awaken you get closer to experiencing yourself as a participating co-creator in your life. New Moon on January 1, 2014 at 10 degrees Capricorn Now I have always been a believer that how we start our New Year will be reflected throughout the whole year as an underlying tone – so I run around getting the floors cleaned, laundry done, bills paid. Having a New Moon on the first day of the year is very powerful, this moon is a challenging one so you will need to be very focused and positive. Center often and use the energy to transform and motivate.

Here is one version of how this might play out You may find yourself or others a little argumentative and demanding with potential for outbursts (or temper tantrums), going to extremes or spiraling into fanatical behavior – while focusing on a too big of ego that is only interested in the conflict between what goals have been set and what has actually been

achieved and if that is not enough issues of impractical or extremes in finances slowly come to the surface.

WOW are you kidding me? … How about the positive … Stand up to injustice and demand social change, evoke confidence and pull up your socks by taking responsibility for the world manifesting the way it is. Conjure intense dedication as you devote your whole be-ing toward the transformational pursuit of goals. Know that you can achieve incredible insights into your personal and environmental universe, this understanding brings inspiration and enthusiasm about life … adversity drives you toward success. The Full Moon on January 15th at 25 degrees Cancer As you move toward the Full Moon … You will feel the heavy transformational demands of the New Moon lift as you begin the journey of fulfillment. The stressors begin to separate and you can finally settle down into the New Year. Plan on working yourself out of debt this year as this full moon brings to light feelings of security, independence and confidence. 2nd New Moon on January 30th at 10 degrees Aquarius We get a do over in January with a 2nd New Moon … perhaps this is our opportunity to set goals without the pressures that January 1st. There are still obstacles to overcome so keep putting one foot in front of the other and keep your eye on the prize :-\

As you move into the New Year it is important to know your accomplishments of the Past … feel gratitude for the bounty of the Present & be clear in your vision of the Future. Don’t lose sight of the big picture but details are an important process. Make sure you smaller goals align with your larger goals.

Earth Crystals

All crystals have beneficial properties but each astrological sign has crystals that are said to support those born under that sign. Often one crystal will show up under more than one sign yet offers something totally different. Just as there are many aspects to each astrological sign, each crystal has many aspects that vibrate with different aspects of our body, mind and soul and what works for one person is not necessarily true for the next. Start to collect the crystals associated with your sign and keep them in a small bag you can carry in your pocket. Not all the crystals associated with your sign will resonate with you, as always keep the list for your sign handy and carry around those that do. If a stone does not resonate with you now, still find one that you are attracted to, down the road you might find you are drawn to that one crystal.

ONYX - Onyx increases wisdom, and serenity. It helps Capricorn’s in striving towards higher goals. Strengthens sense of responsibility and helps them recognize conflicts early on. MALACHITE - Helps Capricorn become aware of deep unconscious wishes, dreams and feelings.

This stone can help you discover the beauty and depth of your character. MOSS AGATE - Can you say luck! That is what moss agate brings to Capricorn’s! Along with happiness in love. It is also Capricorn’s communication stone enhancing deeper understanding and clearer communications .

Other important stones for Capricorn are: ROCK CRYSTAL - Helps to achieve clarity and spiritual purity. Helps you go beyond the confines of expectations, loosen your grip on cares and responsibilities so you can enjoy a more relaxed life. DIAMOND - Strengthens concentration. Helps you to achieve goals unhindered. Helps you to transcend the day to day and take pleasure in the world around you.

JASPER - Capricorns will find that this stone promotes steadfastness and self confidence. At the same time, it reminds them to search that the search for meaning must extend beyond their everyday cares and duties. OBSIDIAN - This is a great stone to help you reach your goals while being protected from negative influences and vibrations that can drain your life force. SMOKY QUARTZ - This stone can help Capricorn loosen attachment to material things and become more sensitive and understanding to those around them. SAPPHIRE - Using this crystal with smoky quartz helps Capricorn recognize the ephemeral nature of the moment and learn to acknowledge the sacred principals guiding the cosmos. CITRINE - Citrine strengthens Capricorn’s aura and leads to self confidence and warm heartedness. It can help him through those difficult times, in which he wavers, and self doubt gains the upper hand. Then it can provide a sense of inner peace and the confidence to once again believe in life.

Poems by Margie Kivel

The word L-A-V-A looms before me, imprinted on a thick bar of heavy duty, no frills soap that will clean your hide, yellowed collars, work rags, even the family dog. It floats like a neon light, clean-up in progress message from the workers. Around its letters, dried gray bubbles of lather, lingering evidence of angelic scrubbings. I turn over in my sleep, assured that my life’s dirty laundry is in the Big Wash. Margie Kivel

Clusters of red pine needles hang in starbursts of ice caught in mid air, a frozen landscape between breaths preparing for deep freeze reflection. Time to enter the cave, weigh the output of a life, reconsider the meaning of ice, in darkness feel the body slow down. I stop in mid stride, foot still aloft and let go, release desire’s direction embodied in that last leap, then take off my shoes. My history hangs in a fringe of ice drops intricate as lace – new patterns not seen before, as limbs bow down with the weight of it. I settle into the robe of gratitude, warm as big bear love to sleep my dreams amid fields of blueberries… await the return of spring. Margie Kivel

Rune of the Month

Delays

The rune for the month is Naudhiz, one of the three great runes of delay. It counsels patience. You may find yourself in time delays, constraints, ill health, or oppression, but this rune indicated that tiresome as they may be, they will work out in their own time, and no amount of haste or worry on your part will cause them to work out any faster. Naudhiz always indicates a time of passing through a difficult learning situation. This time is known as “crossing the abyss” and is often a time of extreme emotional upheaval. However, meeting this emotional challenge head -on and conquering your fear of it can be the catalyst that drives you to overcome whatever obstacles may appear in your path later.

In reverse it may denote that the subject has taken a rather flippant and thoughtless attitude and must now pay the price for those actions. If the subject fails to change his/her approach immediately, the consequences could be dire indeed as the full force of the “establishment” comes down on them. Naudhiz, reversed, also cautions against starting something you had planned. You may be setting off on an improper course of action. Make no hasty judgments and do not act out of impatience, because at this time your actions can only lead to disaster. If it is too late and you have already become stuck on the wrong path, this rune’s message is to be honest, admit your error, and try to salvage whatever you can from the situation.

Strength Courage Assertiveness When I asked what power animal would come forward this month polar bear immediately lumbered in. Their message to us this month is:

“it is time to be assertive but not in an aggressive way as to tear others to shreds but in a way that lets others know what you need and what you feel. It is time to be strong like me. To be in the present like me for if I was not in the present where I live I would surly die. Most of the time what you humans worry about is not life threatening. Even if it is life threatening it is important to stay present and deal with it from there. It is also important to take time to let your dreams grow in the womb of your hearts and minds. For then when it is time they can be born .Again this takes time and patience for it is in the present you will know when it is time to bring them to fruition and out of hibernation into the warmth and light of the world . Take time to go within and find your strength and courage. Treat yourself with respect and keep your dignity at all times. Find your strengths and innate gifts and qualities that have been dormant for till now and nourish them. Remember you are a powerful individual and are ok and always will be. With strength, courage and assertiveness of the present The polar bears Contact Michelle bloghttp://whitestareagle.wordpress.com or email me at empathlove2003@yahoo.ca. Message from the Angels

January 2014 Blessings on this day to all who are joining us, Our message to you this month is about accepting what is. Accept your life in all its configurations. Know that every moment, situation, and event has profound value… even if it doesn’t seem like it. Accepting what is, is an act of faith. Sometimes it is very challenging to accept what is occurring, yet to do so is to honor and affirm there is a plan for your life. Everything is working for your highest good and that is often the hardest thing to accept. Accepting does not mean you cannot change the circumstances. It just allows you to gently support yourself in finding peace. Some of you experienced more opportunities, or challenges as you would call them, than others during 2013. It has left you disheartened, and diminished your faith that there is anything beyond struggle and grief. “God? Source? Whatever you call him? Can he really allow so many to suffer so much?” This has been the question of many. Many are seeking guidance for a more peaceful existence. As you walk forward into 2014 we offer the following to you. We are here to support you in love, compassion, understanding and joy. We are reaching out to you with a request, asking that you lay down your busy lives just for a few moments a day and connect with us. We are always here ready and available. NO www.nourishpublication.com

long lineups to wait through. NO appointments necessary. A direct link to your higher self, God, Source or whatever you wish to call it. Spend some time with your higher self and reconnect with your faith. Faith in yourself first and foremost. Faith that, while life is often unfair and unjust, you have a marvelous team in your court ready and willing to help you understand what is going on, and provide guidance on the next steps you should take. On that note, we wish to speak to you about the importance of your seventh chakra, the one referred to as the crown chakra. This is where intuition, which is inherent in each of you, and help from the spirit world is received. Perhaps you fear opening up to this side of your life, or you feel it is not real. Either way, the time has come to awaken to the beauty and power of this realm. For those of you who are open to hearing from us, ensure you keep this channel clear and uncluttered for now is the time to become more aware of what you are receiving. Make some quiet time for yourself, ground and center yourself, then open your crown chakra. To open your crown chakra imagine pure white light flowing down from above and gently expanding over the top of your head. Once you can feel the energy swirling, send out a question you are seeking help with. Much like sending a text message to a friend, then wait patiently for a response. Ensure 54

that your time spent with us and your higher self, intuition, is uninterrupted. From this space you begin to follow your soul, which knows you best. Archangel Uriel comes forth and asks that you call upon him to help you keep this connection open and clear. This is a gift bestowed upon each of you at birth, a birthright that brings peace and personal power to each of you. Love and inspiration from spirit and your own intuition, flow freely and fully from your seventh chakra. Please open up to the possibility that you have this incredible power available anytime you need assistance. In connection with the seventh chakra is the second chakra, the sacral chakra. This chakra is about creativity and intimacy, when working properly it glows a beautiful bright orange. This chakra will help you reach out into unexplored areas of self-expression and new projects that come from ideas and messages received during your seventh chakra text messaging sessions. Having this chakra clear and uncluttered allows the energy to flow freely and this supports closeness to others and also supports you nurturing yourself. When you feel good about yourself, you believe in yourself, and thus are more open to communicating with your higher self rather than communicating with your ego which keeps you grounded in the lower energies that don’t always support your soul’s growth. It enables you to open yourself up to the emotional intimacy that may be coming your way. Nurture yourself and be ready to receive the affection and camaraderie of the souls around you. We ask that you be not afraid to take important steps to ensure your life is what you want. “Accept your life” does not mean to lay down and succumb, rather to know that you can always find a way to change things. Those moments that seem impossible to change are providing valuable lessons that you will carry forward to help during other challenges. Call upon your higher self often and the challenges will seem less and less. If you take even a small step towards listening and putting into place the guidance you receive life will start to shift and turn around for you. Above all we are not here to live your life, we are here to support the choices you make each and every day. Blessings as you start this grand adventure of a new year may you know peace and joy!
