ing an extra-long spring cleaning this year. We will all have to pay attention to what comes along next. The energies not only of earth and the universe but of us as well, are indeed shifting! We are living in what will one day be a historic event. Each of us has an important role and it is up to us to embrace the opportunities presented to us to make a difference. Now more than ever we have the chance to “be the change we wish to see in the world”. I have included a Kryon Channel this month which I feel has significance, even though it was channeled in January, for what is going on right now.

Welcome to old friends and friends we are meeting for the first time. Take a few moments and grab a cup of tea then prepare to meander through the pages of our 12th issue. As I sit here to write this brief welcome note I am reflecting on the past month. Energetically it was a rather interesting month; there has been, in combination or alone, major heat, wind, rain and storms in most parts of the earth. In the part of the world I live in we have had flooding caused by higher precipitation. It has been cooler as well. While my home has been safe I send out a prayer to all who have been touched by Mother Nature in the last month. It would seem that she is do-

Do

you remember the Muppet Show? Some of you might be too young to recall the TV show that aired from 1976 - 1981. One pair of characters who made it into my heart were “the critics” Statler and Waldorf.

They heckled everyone! It amazes me to this day why I actually liked these two; perhaps part of me was wishing I could be like them. They were funny after all and didn’t seem to care what anyone else thought of them or their views. I have always been the underdog hero, cheering them on, so why these two captured my heart remains my mystery.

Being

critiqued is a hard pill to swallow for most of us. It means that something must be wrong with us. We are not good enough, even when we try our best. Perhaps one of the best things I got from the show was that no matter what the critics had to say, each week the ones being heckled www.nourishpublication.com

were back on stage doing what they did to the best of their ability. They did not let the critics get them down. Oh sure, there was anger and probably a few tears from the rest of the cast after being heckled, but each week they showed up! As a society we have people who make their living as critics. We accord them a high ranking and pay them a great deal of money to give us their opinions on all matter of items. I think we have paid critics for just about everything from politics to food. Maybe my lesson from the Muppets was that I should have been a critic! Nah, that would not have worked, for while I do have opinions, I don’t like to hurt others feelings. I believe that most people on earth could say that they have nonprofessional critics in their lives. You know who I mean, all those well-meaning people, right from your parents to your best friends. Far too often we pay them, not dollars but with attention. We listen to what they have to say even if it means they are dashing our dreams. Paying attention to the critics in our lives has the potential to dash our ambitions and lower our self-esteem. I am sure most of us can relate to the crushed feeling that washes over us when a loved one critiques us. The other side of this is that we too criticize others. The reasons we might do this are varied, but the underlying conscious or unconscious reason is to boost our own sense of superiority. All too often the use of criticism is used to inflate the ego of the critic at the expense of the object of criticism. There is a

July 2012

great distinction between truth and opinion. How each person deals with criticism depends on what the critic is pointing out and also what frame of mind the person being critiqued is in. Often we are able to allow criticism to roll off our backs like water off a duck. Other days that muck clings and there is no shaking it. Every word seems to be a dagger digging deeper into our psyche.

How

do we deal with this? The answer might just surprise you. Accept yourself. Once you choose to accept yourself for who you are, flaws and all, you consequently accept others for who they are, flaws and all. You develop compassion for others. They, therefore, stop pressing your buttons. Another cool tool to try out is to respond with “well of course”. After saying that you can carry on with what you imagine the person is implying and then state what you are actually trying to achieve. Just the facts about why you are doing something, stay positive and don’t use the word “but”. End it by putting it back to them with “what do you think?” In this way you are acknowledging the other person and validating them at the same time. Here is an example;

Mom: What a stupid idea to go to that party when you don’t know half the people and you have no idea where it is! Daughter: Well, of course! I'll bet you worry that I am going to end up hurt or someone is going to slip something into my drink. In reality, I am going because_____ asked me to come and be her buddy, we both have phones and I promise to call at the first sign of trouble. I would like you to give us a ride there so you know where I am. What do you think? The above would open up a dialogue that was based in truth around the situation. Both sides would be acknowledged and validated. Walking away feeling like they both had a boost of self-love.

One

last thought. Try to replace criticism with concern, and judgment with love. Critics will always be around. Someone will always have a thought about what you are doing. Remember when they express them to you that they are their opinions. We are not clones, each of us is unique and we each need to celebrate that. When we do the critics will have to find someone else to critique.

After 20 years in family practice, and the last ten years of an integrated approach – I now wonder if all healing can occur from a space of true, compassionate & unconditional love. Can love truly heal all illness? Can love heal depression? Chronic Fatigue? Multiple Sclerosis? Diabetes? Anxiety? Obesity? Can love heal every ailment we hear of in medicine? I feel it can. I now work teaching people how to release and allow true love to enter their lives. Love can heal all. This is a brief summary of what I teach and hopefully it will get you onto your path of allowing love to enter your life. When we are born – 99.9% of us are born completely healthy and well. In this blog, we are going to focus on this large population – and on a later date discuss those less than 0.1% unhealthy at birth. We are born in that space of complete health and love. When we are born we are truly connected to our source – our spirit – our humanity. That space is of complete love and connection. There is no fear, anxiety, anger or resentment being held onto. Because of this special, perfect place, the little ones are so much more connected to source and well being than adults are. This is the one of the reasons that children do not often develop the chronic diseases that adults are prone to. Children are aware of the soup of love that they sit in. They can see invisible energy and can literally take the love and guidance from this invisible energy into their little bodies. Within this space of invisible energy lies the healing and love that can enter into all of our bodies and lives. There is incredible healing here. Some people call this invisible energy Spirit, Guides, the Universe or whatever name you give it. Whatever you choose to call this is irrelevant. Simply knowing that it is there and allowing it to penetrate your body is all that is important.

By Dr. Divi Chandna

Every human being, regardless of what they have done in their life can be connected to the same, infinite space of love, life and well-being. That infinite space is the energy around us that truly supports us. We are all in a soup of love, wellbeing and potential. (Continued on page 9)

(Continued from page 8)

As humans, we have ultimate free choice – so we have a choice to connect into that space or not. I work with people on allowing them to enter this space of love. While doing this work, I teach them that we all have 2 messages within us at all times. One message comes from our mind – our thoughts, our worries, our concerns. Then, we have another voice coming from our heart or spirit. The heart is capable of connecting to the invisible energy around us. The heart is guided by messages from this invisible space. Those messages are always guiding us and in general they are positive, reinforcing and loving. These are two distinct messages. In our society & schooling system – we are taught how to strengthen our mind. Unless you work on it – the heart voice doesn’t get any stronger than that which we are born with. Just like the mind or the bicep muscle, the heart voice can be strengthened. It just takes patience, diligence and regular maintenance. Regular practices like yoga and meditation are the fastest and most efficient ways to strengthen the heart’s voice. Through these practices, we can tap into the multitude of invisible energies around us that want to guide us and help us to heal.

To be truly in the space of spirit/heart is to truly heal through love. Releasing anger, jealousy, resentment and allowing ourselves to go into that magical space of unlimited love is the most amazing experience in the world. Sometimes when we are so trapped in our mind and living in a space of fear, anxiety or negativity, it is very difficult to start this process and often impossible to hear the heart’s voice or know how start. This is where working with an intuitive can be helpful. As a medical intuitive, I can tune into the voices and guidance of the Spirit world, and give you step by step instructions on how to shift and release the bondages that you may be in. Then, overtime, you will be able to tune into your own Spirit voice – and release once and for all into the healing space of love. Love truly does heal. We all have the capability and capacity to do this work. It is with deep love that I write this article– hoping that it will enter into your lives like it has mine.

Often the message from the mind is very different than the message from the heart or spirit. The heart or spirit’s message will never veer us off track. The heart’s message is always full of love, compassion and beauty. It is encouraging and never lets us down. The heart message is always driving us towards our best, highest potential. The mind, on the other hand, tends to hold onto anger, resentment, worry, jealousy and rigidity. We are trained in our society that this is perfectly acceptable and sometimes even commendable behaviour. Many times the message the heart/spirit is giving you is opposite of the message the mind is sending. The key here is to sit in meditation, feel and be with the heart message. Then, using the power of our thoughts, work on shifting our thoughts to better feeling spaces so that gradually our mind’s message matches the spirit’s message. It is important to understand that our mind is just composed of thoughts that we think. Those thoughts are nothing other than that which we put our focus on. The thoughts can be changed, by changing our focus. It is that simple and that powerful.

(Chenopodium album) Last month I said I was going to tell you why I love Lamb's Quarters and I'm sure after reading this article you too will look on this deviled weed with less contempt and much more love. I can't think of any other edible weed that stays tender and tastes wonderful all summer long right up to first frost. While the nettles and dandelion leaves soon turn bitter and tough after the first flush of spring, Lamb's Quarters will keep on giving. It was first brought to North America from Europe for food use by the early settlers, but once out on the range it just kept going, which may be one reason for its other name Pigweed. Lamb's Quarters come from the same family as Quinoa, and in fact it does produce edible seeds in the fall that can be dried and used as you would any seed, sprouted or ground to be used as flour. It is recommended that you do not eat large amounts of the seeds every day though. An individual plant will grow anywhere from one to six feet tall with several branches each producing a flowering tip- see middle photo. When Lamb's Quarters first comes up it has oval shaped leaves- see photo left. As it grows it soon develops toothed leaves-see photo right. As the summer wears on the leaves will become smaller again, especially at the bottom. It is all edible, but by this time the tenderist leaves are found at the top of each branch.

The underside of the leaves have a silvery whiteness and when you try to clean the leaves under running water you'll soon notice that water will just bead up and roll off the leaves. Medicinally Lamb's Quarters assist with nutritional deficiencies, they have refrigerant (cooling) properties and the leaves are said to make a soothing poultice for burns. Lambs Quarters is truly delicious raw, used in sandwiches or salads. Steamed as a vegetable, or added to soups or other dishes. I haven't tried this, but they say you can even cook the young stems with the leaves and they are just as delicious. My macrobiotic weed-eating friends turned me on to this gem years ago. I was complaining that I didn't have any Lambs Quarters growing in the garden. Soon they gifted me with 5 or 6 stems complete with flowers, jammed into a plastic shopping bag. I put it the whole thing in the fridge, and ate fresh leaves from those branches for nearly 3 months. They were just as fresh and tasty as the day I first got them, no wilt, or even a sign of going bad. If you want to preserve some to eat during the winter the leaves can be dried, canned or blanched and frozen. (Continued on page 11)

Here is an interesting link which has a complete breakdown on the nutritional value of Lamb's Quarters. http://nutritiondata.self.com/facts/vegetables -and-vegetable-products/2869/2 . Complete with calorie count. So it's easy to see why I love lamb's Quarters so much, this tasty, long lasting and versatile plant is like manna from heaven, and can be incorporated into many a meal weeks after the cucumbers, tomatoes and most other veggies have long been harvested.

Be creative, but you only want to have a total of 2 cups of mixed liquids altogether. ♦

Mix the liquid and the veggies together, you may feel there isn't enough of the egg mixture, but I assure you there is.

Here is a photo of the one I made tonight just before going into the oven.

I love good food, but I'm a notorious bad cook. I think it was Erma Bombeck who said she never used a recipe that didn't begin with Quick and/or Easy, I'm with you on that one Erma! Actually I really don't even like using recipes, I prefer the "creative" approach to cooking which sometimes works…or not. I don't know what you'd call this it's not a Quiche and it's not an Omelet, but it is delicious and you can hide all manner of good for you weeds in it and no one but you will ever know. PLEASE NOTE: Normally this one is not measured or timed. So use my instructions loosely and add or subtract whatever you like. This drives true cooks crazy though so I have tried to standardize it a little for you.

Recipe Clean, dry and chop finely about 4 cups in total of: Dandelion leaves (young) Comfrey leaves (young) Lamb's Quarters stinging nettle burdock leaves (young) carrot celery corn seeds ♦

chives Spinach kale onion garlic broccoli peas nuts

Add some feta or other cheese if you like **feel free to add anything else you can think of. **One caveat here: for some reason I find if I leave out the peas it's not as flavorful – go figure?? Break about 6 eggs into another bowl and whisk adding a little: Milk soya sauce or Braggs salt & pepper Red Star Yeast or nutritional yeast

www.nourishpublication.com

There is very little egg mixture, but it's enough to bind it all together. Pour the mixture into a lightly buttered baking dish and put into a 350 degree oven for about 1 hour, or until the center is firm. Remove from the oven and top with grated cheese and let the cheese melt in the oven and its ready….enjoy! So enjoy your Lamb's Quarters and remember to only pick free-range edibles from places you know are free of pesticides and chemical fertilizers and well away from any roadways. Until next month …. Bon Appétit!

What would it mean to raise a child soulfully? I am reminded of my daughter, when she was young. She had a little toy baby carriage and a cat. One of her favorite pastimes was to dress the cat in a doll’s dress complete with matching bonnet, place the cat in the carriage, and push it around the house. Only one of the cats was patient enough to put up with this charade. It was the one who was most bonded to my daughter, and most wanted her attention. She was a pleaser-cat, I suppose. Each child enters our world as pure potential. After watching my children grow, and re-reading my anecdotal records of their early years, I am convinced that they are born with some distinctive personality characteristics that are unique and enduring. No doubt, they are also born with inherent “soul characteristics” which are much more subtle. Soulful parenting would be that which fostered the blossoming of that pure potential, the expression of personality, and the provision of an emotional environment that supported the emergence of the individual’s soul qualities. Too often, however, children are treated like my daughter’s cat; dressed up as their parents want them to “look”, so they fulfill the parent’s needs, as opposed to being who they really are. They assume the identity that is imposed upon them, for that brings approval, acceptance and sometimes even love. Cats are notoriously self-centered, persistent, uncooperative and stubborn. They will not conform to another’s agenda for long. It does not really affect their self-esteem if we do not approve of their behaviors. Nor do they care what other cats think of them. Humans are quite different. Especially human children. Children do not have the independence or the ability to meet all of their own physical and emotional needs. They need us. Consequently, to an extent, when they are young, their safety and survival depends on being in the reasonably good graces of their caregivers. Selling the soul begins at a very early age, unless the child’s guardians have a reverence for the uniqueness that wants to emerge.

Gwen Randall-Young www.nourishpublication.com

Soulful parenting means standing back often, allowing the child his or her own space to explore not only his world, but also his own being. It also requires, from very early on, a willing-

ness to believe the child knows some things we do not, even if she is not yet able to verbalize it. Not all information carried within our cells or psyches is communicable via language. Language may be the most narrow of all vehicles of communication. There is a time when children have enough language to communicate something of their soul’s knowing, while young enough to still ‘remember’.

For my daughter, it was around age five. When asked big questions relating to why we were here on this planet, or where we were before we were born, she answered clearly and with confidence. Her answers were astounding. These were questions for which there are no ‘right’ answers, and she knew we were genuinely interested in her thoughts. They were questions she had never been asked before, nor heard discussed. I believe she was speaking from her soul. She knew she had wisdom. Sadly, that knowing took a back seat when she began school, where every question had a right answer. She was surrounded by people who talked about what they “knew” rather than what they thought or intuited. Her soul knowing did not disappear, but it went underground. There is often a re-emergence of soulfulness during adolescence, expressed in art, music, dance or poetry. Since often adults do not seem to understand what this is, or even reject it, it soon goes underground once again. Upon entering institutions of higher learning and/or the workplace young people sense that soulful expression is something you do at www.nourishpublication.com

home, or with select friends, but not in public. Consequently it is viewed as a less valid aspect of our being – a luxury of sorts. Soulful parenting involves encouraging children of all ages to share their perceptions. When we ask them to tell us how they see things, or what they think, and we honor those expressions without correction or debate, they learn to value their own perceptions. Honoring their own perceptions is the first step towards finding their own truth. Living their truth brings them into alignment with their souls. Unfortunately too many people are living someone else’s truth: parent’s, society’s, the corporation’s, the peer group’s or the partner’s. This results in a sense of alienation, perhaps even anxiety, depression, despair, or illness. It is a hard thing to realize, as Gibran says, that “your children are not your children. They are the sons and daughters of Life’s longing for itself.” Our task is to support them in being who they want to be, not who we want them to be. It is an honor to be blessed with the opportunity to be a guardian to a new being. Our job is to nurture the body, challenge the mind, and open the heart, so that the soul may emerge in its own unique expression. The depth of that soul’s expression may not be for us to see: having done our part well, we must release it to it’s own journey. In Gibran’s words, we “may house their bodies but not their souls, For their souls dwell in the house of tomorrow.” However, if we are loving them from that place that is our own soul, and we honor that place in them that is soul, we may certainly touch their souls. These soul connections are timeless, eternal, and mostly, wordless. We must allow our children to be who they are, and the freedom to choose their own path. When we do this, sometimes it seems as though we might lose them. However, in those moments of soul connection, we realize that we have always been together, and will always be together. There is nothing to lose.

when it is time to write for others, or a story that may be challenging or difficult to focus on, I know this ritual will assist me.

Candle lit; incense burning. Deep breath in; out; press play on the stereo for quiet meditation music.

The sacred space I created for my writing allows me to focus on being present. Today I write outside and my attention is taken away from the computer to watch a bee collecting pollen from a bright yellow flower I have never seen until now. This is what I write for. I can sit here and explore the physical, emotional, spiritual and intellectual world that is within and around me.

I can begin.

Rituals

are a part of most people's lives. We make sure to light a candle when we write, say a prayer before bed, or wake up saying why we are grateful before jumping out of bed. Having this writing ritual allows me to ground my words in my Om space before I write. It is not to say that I need to have this exact same space every time I open my journal, but

As a journal writer on a quest for personal growth it is important to create a space that grounds me. This can look very different to everyone: busy coffee shops, malls, watching TV, nature, or riding a bus. In the end it is important that you create a pleasant judgement free space for you. As you design and create the space you may also want to think about laying the groundwork around the journals you have or will have! I have spoken with my family, friends and workshop participants about the privacy around my journals. When I go to workshops I bring my “public” journal out with me. In this way I know that the words I have within are there to be shared with others. I can remain fully present with the participants and have no anxiety if I leave the room without it. I speak about respect and privacy of my words and that only I can share the words written within.

to explore and move towards personal growth with little anxiety. I enjoy the peaceful, pleasant space and know that I respect my words and am ready to heal and explore as I continue on my journey.

This week write about your “Om space”. Create this space where you can feel safe and grounded to write. What does privacy mean to you? Write about it and share with those you live with so you can feel safe to explore your stories. Understand that privacy can change over time and that is ok too!

Namaste.

by Kaye Castleman Vertigo

can be an enormously frustrating and debilitating condition. Imagine try-

ing to function while coping with the sensation that everything around you is spinning or moving. People with vertigo find it difficult to walk because the spinning sensation directly affects their balance. Sometimes the feeling may be so slight that it is hardly noticeable, but for many people the severity of symptoms makes it impossible to stand upright and carry out everyday tasks. A bout of vertigo can last from a few minutes to several days, months, or even years. There are many different causes of vertigo, including a problem with the brain, with the nerves that connect the brain to the middle ear, or even vision issues. Most frequently vertigo is caused by a problem in the inner ear, which is where our balance mechanisms reside. The inner ear contains a system of canals and cavities called the labyrinth, and a kind of internal carpenter's level called the vestibule, which contains fluid and tiny hair-like sensors that monitor the rotation of the head. And there are minute organs in the ear that contain crystals that make us sensitive to movement. A problem with any of these tiny organs or tissues can lead to the dizziness and loss of balance that are characteristic of vertigo. One of the most common causes of this condition is inflammation within the inner ear (labrynthitis). It is characterized by a sudden www.nourishpublication.com

onset of dizziness and is generally initiated by a viral (or occasionally bacterial) infection in the inner ear. Since antibiotics only kill bacteria, they are usually ineffective for treating vertigo. There are a number of other medications that are commonly prescribed, but, as many sufferers can attest, vertigo caused by inflammation in the inner ear can be a stubborn issue to resolve.

Several months ago a regular client came to me with an acute case of vertigo. He

had been feeling fine until ten days earlier, when he stood up suddenly after working underneath a vehicle and was overcome by a severe wave of dizziness. Concerned about possible heart or stroke issues, he got a ride to the local ER, where he underwent a full examination and series of tests. After several hours he left with a prescription and the diagnosis of vertigo caused by an inner ear infection. In the following days the dizziness came and went, along with nausea, loss of balance, problems walking and standing still, and the sensation that everything around him was either moving or spinning. He did not experience vomiting, blurred vision or earache, which can all be present with vertigo. But he was unable to work, and reluctant to take pharmaceutical medications. He tried herbal remedies, bed rest, and natural immune support, but over a week later he felt no improvement, so he asked me if I had any suggestions.

I'm a great believer in the healing properties of essential oils. Since I recognize that not all oils are created equal, I use only Young Living therapeutic-grade essential oils in my practice. One of the many innovative applications for their quality oils is Raindrop Technique. It combines a specific application of essential oils with gentle massage techniques and a warm compress, creating a treatment that is not only effective for a wide variety of issues, but also offers a pampering, holistic healing experience. Using muscle testing, I customize each Raindrop session to suit individual needs, so no two treatments are ever the same. Usually a combination of six to twelve different oils will present for the client as most effective at that time.

When I tested for my vertigo sufferer, only oils recognized for their anti-viral and antibacterial properties surfaced.... Frankin-

cense, Clove, Cinnamon Bark, Oregano, Ledum, and Cistus, among others. I had never had such a powerful combination of 'killing' oils appear for a Raindrop before - not for pneumonia, cancers, or any other condition I had worked with previously. We were going straight for the big guns here! One of the greatest advantages of essential oils in overcoming viral infections is the fact that in the thousands of years we have been using them, no virus has been able to mutate to become resistant. This gives the oils a major advantage over antibiotics, which are fast becoming redundant as even those within the medical profession admit they are unable to keep up

with mutating viruses resistant to antibiotics' effects.

My client thoroughly enjoyed the Raindrop session, which took about ninety minutes.

Afterwards he was very tired and went home to bed, sleeping almost uninterrupted until the next morning. That day he was able to move around without the compelling sense of dizziness and nausea that had plagued him for the previous ten days. The day after that he was back at work, and by the third day he reported feeling “pretty much his old self. This is typical of essential oil therapies, as they tend to work almost instantly. Dr. D. Gary Young, founder and president of Young Living Essential Oils, says if we do not notice improvement within sixty seconds of applying an essential oil, we are using the wrong oil! Two cautions here. When using essential oils undiluted on the skin, as in Raindrop Technique, use only the finest therapeutic-grade quality oils. Most essential oils commonly available at health food stores are not recommended for this type of application. Also, be aware that vertigo can stem from a variety of causes, including headaches, tumors, injury, certain disease or positional conditions, even simple dehydration. Consult a trusted health care professional before undertaking any treatment for the symptoms mentioned in this article. My client has not had a recurrence of his symptoms since his treatment, but each body is unique and deserves individual attention.

Vera Enshaw Palo Santo essential oil has been a favorite of mine ever since it became available through Young Living. It comes from the same botanical family as frankincense, has many of the same properties but is generally less expensive. The scent is incredibly powerful – this is one of the oils that you want to introduce your nose to gently by opening the bottle down by your navel and bringing it up slowly to smell. (Do this with all oils – by the time the bottle gets to your nose your whole being knows it!) It is interesting to note that the oil comes from wood that has been dead for a minimum of two years. As the tree dries, the resin is pulled into the heartwood, which is then ground into sawdust and distilled. (The Ecuadorian government does not allow living trees to be cut, and a permit must be issued to harvest the oil) The powerful qualities of the oil are not available from freshly cut or living trees. The name “Palo Santo” mean “holy wood” in Spanish. Use it to assist you to reach a meditative state by smelling it. You can diffuse it into the room, or just hold the bottle and take a few deep breaths. As you meditate, the calming scent helps to keep your mind free of worries and helps you to get in touch with your inner self. The oil is incredibly powerful when dealing with infections of any sort – I used it when I had an infection caused by a piece of tooth left in my www.nourishpublication.com

gum after an extraction. My face was so swollen and sore that I was unable to eat. Within one half an hour after putting the Palo Santo on the site, the swelling was down and within an hour it was gone completely and I was able to eat. It is a wonderful oil for use in massage for muscle pain and achy joints. A little bit goes a long way! Mix it with your favorite organic carrier oil for either a whole body massage or a specific area. Put a drop or two in bath salts for those days when you are in need of total rejuvenation. The oil will help to revitalize you physically, mentally, emotionally & spiritually! What more can you ask?

by Marguerite Paquin, PhD - educator, author, Maya Calendar specialist The Great Cycle of Time, as tracked by the Maya Long Count calendar, incorporates 7200 revolutions of a 260-day cycle known as the Tzolk’in (Count of Days). This Great Cycle, which began in 3114 B.C., comes to a close on Dec. 21 of this year, at which point a whole new Great Cycle of Time begins to unfold.

Luther King III, and many civil rights leaders, with some 10,000 people in attendance.

As

The Leadership and Renewal theme of this trecena is reflective of the nature of the “patrons” of the trecena, deities that serve as metaphors for the type of energy that runs through this time span. One of these is a deity that represents the sacrifices that are often required in order for change to be accomplished. The other is the Lord of Fire and Time, a being connected with time-related change, as in cycle endings. He shows up here since this particular trecena is the last 13-day period in the current 260 day cycle that began on One Imix last October 29th.

noted at the end of the last horoscope, the trecena that began on July 2nd, the day before the full moon, is representative of Quetzalcoatl in his Venus form. This is the “star” trecena, known as Lamat, an energy associated with leadership. With One Lamat being representative of “the initiation of leadership”, it is not surprising that this was the energy in place at the time of Queen Elizabeth’s coronation in 1953. The dedication ceremony for the $120 million memorial to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. in Washington D.C. took place at the time of the last appearance of this One Lamat energy, in October of last year, at which time speeches were given by President Obama, Bernice King, Martin www.nourishpublication.com

Since Lamat is known as the “signaller” in Mayan Calendrics, many events that herald forthcoming change often unfold during this period. It’s often a time when dramatic events push towards some kind of “conclusion” as they lay the foundations for the birth of something new at the beginning of the trecena that will follow. This is a trecena that is often characterized by strong leadership, and the shedding of light on new possibilities, as happened very vividly two cycles ago. It was the second day of this trecena, known as 2 Muluk (water), that saw the emergence of Mohamed Elbaradei, the Nobel Laure-

ate, former Director-General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, as a leader of the forces that were calling for democracy in Egypt. Just 12 days after that the demand for change in that country had intensified so dramatically that by the end of the trecena (on the day 13 Ajaw, associated with “transformational enlightenment” and “transformation of rulership”) hundreds of thousands of people, described as “electric with anticipation”, had packed into Tahrir Square, in high expectation that President Mubarak would step down – which he did, the following day. This is a time frame during which many great transitions have occurred in the past, including the October Revolution in Russia in 1917 (when the Bolsheviks came into power), the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, the unconditional surrender of Japan at the end of World War II, the completion of the deconstruction of the Berlin Wall in 1990, and the storming of Baghdad by U.S. forces in 2003. During its last appearance, the Syrian National Council was given formal recognition as the “legitimate oppostion” in that beleaguered country, the death of Gadhafi brought a terrible 42 year dictatorship to an end in Libya, and Tunisia held its first democratic elections. In 1964 this trecena heralded the debut of the Beatles in North America; then thirteen years later an era concluded during this time frame with the death and funeral of Elvis Presley. As this trecena is the first full trecena of summer this year, a day of potential “heat” arrives on July 4th, on the Maya day known as 3 Ok, a “Burner Day” representative of the “activation of fire” (or heartfire)”, in conjunction with Independence Day in the U.S. July 9th is 8 Men, a “resurrection” type of force associated with high vision – the birth energy of Nik Wallenda, who just made history by being the first person to walk across Niagara Falls on a tightrope. Three days later we come to 11 Etz’nab’, an “inspirational” and often dazzling “knife edge” type of energy that can be quite attention getting, on a day when Venus will be at its greatest brilliance. Two days later we arrive, once again, at 13 Ajaw, the return of the “transformational sun/enlightenment” energy that completes this current cycle. So all in all, this would be an excellent time to “tie up loose ends” and prepare to push forward into the new cycle that promises to be highly eventful as we head into the last six months of the year.

And on into “New Birth” as we come into “One Imix”, the “initiation of birth”, at the beginning of a fresh “Imix to Ajaw” cycle on July 15th. As a “worldmaking” type of energy, Imix is representative of “the realm of all potential”, so this is a signifier that “anything is possible” during this time frame. As with birth itself, this period has the potential to be quite chaotic, but it can also hold great promise, as could be seen in 1969 when the birth of the internet come into being under this influence. This was also the energy that was in place when Egyptian President Mubarak stepped down and handed over his presidential powers to the Egyptian Armed Forces exactly two cycles ago. Two cycles before that, on the One Imix day that coincided with 09/09/09, President Obama gave an address to a joint session of Congress that opened the door for the ratification of his Health Care Reform bill. Since Imix is also associated with the primordial realm, or place of origin that is the source of life, it has many important connections with the Milky Way and with the cosmos in general. During this time frame humans made their first ascent into the stratosphere, in 1931; Chuck Yeager broke the sound barrier in 1947; Sputnik I kicked off the space race, with its launch in 1957; and NASA’s Spirit Rover landed on Mars in 2004. Such developments can certainly be seen as events that have opened up new realms of thought, setting new benchmarks for on-going explorations. As this “birth” related trecena comes into being it holds the potential to “shape” and bring into greater focus many of the issues that have been pushing forward over the past few weeks. Hopefully the Lamat trecena will have brought forth the kind of leadership that can forge some sort of viable resolution to the situation in Syria, with this Imix trecena helping to open the way to relief for the suffering people in that region. With Ramadan beginning on July 20th, in alignment with 6 Kimi, an “everywhere” type of energy associated with “death” or “absolute foundations”, this would be a good point to see (Continued on page 22)

as the games get underway.

(Continued from page 21)

some significant “turn arounds” in that regard. July 22nd will bring us to 8 Lamat, a “resurrection of leadership” type of force that was traditionally celebrated by the Maya as a “Celebration of Abundance”. In some ancient Mesoamerican regions this energy was known as “Rabbit”, and was seen as a symbol of abundance and proliferation, so certainly this would be a good day to give thanks for blessings. Two days later another Burner Day comes in, with 10 Ok, the Burner that “takes the fire”. This is a “foundational” energy associated with guidance , love, and “heat fire”, the Dog-related energy that can sometimes provide a “course correction” if things start to get intense. This is also the birth energy of people such as Vladimir Putin and J.K. Rowling, each of whom have provided unique ways to “give birth” to new worlds and stir the hearts (in one way or another) of millions. In 2006 this was the energy in place at the time of the ceremonial groundbreaking for Martin Luther King Jr.’s National Memorial, 38 years (54 Tzolk’in cycles) after the heart-wrenching shooting of Senator Robert Kennedy during the California Primary convention in 1968. No doubt great excitement related to “the realm of all potential” will be high in London at this time as the final day of the trecena (July 27th) coincides with the opening of the London Olympics. This will be 13 B’en, “transformational personal authority”, which will certainly be the energy that will hold much of the world’s attention during the following couple of weeks.

Why is is not surprising that Lady Gaga was born under the influence of 2 Men? This is the second day of this trecena, the “dynamic” (and sometimes controversial) energy that is aligned with high-flying vision, that returns on July 29th. Lady Gaga a good example of someone who is significantly working with the energy of the trecena itself, in addition to that of her own birth daysign. As we come to the end of the month we arrive at 4 Kab’an, a “defining” energy associated with the sun, Earth, and evolutionary movement. Intriguingly, this is the energy shown right in the centre of the Aztec Sun Stone, the image that millions think of as “the Mayan Calendar”. Given that this is the 4 Kab’an day closest to the end of the Maya “Great Cycle”, this may be the day that the Aztec saw as the end of their “Fifth Sun”, so it would seem that this may be an important marker day. Again, this is located in a period aligned with transformation, so it will be interesting to see what that day may bring. On the last appearance of this energy B.C. took a major step towards sustaining environmental values when it approved an agreement between B.C. and Montana to permanently protect the Flathead River Valley from mining and oil and gas development. It would be fabulous to see more positive actions related to the protection of the planet come into being at this time.

For an expanded version of this horoscope, information on readings and personalized hieroglyphic jewelry, and information on how to purchase your copy of Manual for the Soul: A Guide to the Energies of Life please visit www.whitepuppress.ca.

Perhaps it is no coincidence that most of the Olympics will unfold during the Ix trecena, a time span associated with both transformation, and the “posturing for power” associated with the authority of the Jaguar, a major symbol of rulership for the Maya. In ancient Mesoamerican the jaguar was seen as a “warrior” type of energy, associated with great strength, power, and high rank. This is an energy aligned with high magic and even mastery over things of an unseen nature. So it will be the “initiation” of this potent force that will be in place www.nourishpublication.com

My Experience with days of Non Judgment By Abby Armstrong

This exercise is interesting as I became aware of my numerous negative thoughts and behaviors I practice automatically. Suddenly I was encountering my personal standards, carefully learned behaviors and conflicting beliefs. This process soon became one of full awareness and I began to purge. Something shifted in my thoughts, reactions and communication. I was feeling more at ease with myself and the world. A promising state of calm emerged. With determination I have collapsed old files in my head. Out-dated thinking and projection are gone. I feel freer. The world is a softer place for me.

This awareness and mind cleansing exercise has made me the major benefactor. However, I seemed to have discovered a greater level of respect for all humanity. It appears I am easier An exercise I have taken up recently is called, "a on myself and, consequently, on others around day of non-judgment." I have become aware of me. my many old opinions and judgments that are stored in a secured department of my mind. Remember, "No judgments."

Gail Siler, PhD

I was just sitting down to dinner one evening when I got one of those pesky calls from the telemarketers. “Hello, my name is Vespa,” the caller explained, “may I speak to the man of the house?” The nerve! First interrupting me at dinner time and THEN implying I wasn’t good enough and she wanted to speak to the man of the house. Talk about insults. “I AM the man of the house”, I told Telecaller Vespa in a clipped tone as I imagined myself turning into the north wind and blowing icy frost into the phone. “And I’m the woman of the house too, and I don’t want to speak with you at dinnertime. “ Or any other time, I thought, as I slammed down the phone. Then I had a short pity party attended by me, myself and I while I reflected on HOW it was I got to be the reigning man of the house. Right in the middle of my party, I felt a sudden crackling of awareness that ran through me like a bolt of lightning. In a New York Minute I saw it all clearly. We are two. There are two parts to each of us, and this continues through many levels the lightning revealed. www.nourishpublication.com

That was the beginning of my journey to find, balance and realign my own sacred twins, my inner female and male beings. Now, a good twenty years after Vespa’s dinnertime call I AM both the male and female of my house for real, from the inside out: and I’m darn proud of it. But more than that, I realize how powerful it has made me. But I had to get there one summersault at a time. First on my journey to find my male twin I looked for HIM outside of me. I read about soulmates. In fact, I read everything I could get my hands on about soulmates. I decided ‘yes, that’s for me!’ I want my soulmate. I know he’s out there somewhere, I can feel him. And off I ran in eager search, just like the song from Spielberg’s An American Tale. We would meet and fall madly in love and become the perfect “happily ever after couple.“ More somersaults, experiences, years and books later I came full circle and realized that, just like I told Telemarketer Vespa I was the man of the house, I was. I am. I’m my own inner male twin. And then the next lightening bolt happened again. I saw that first we are called upon to awaken and re-

balance our own inner male with our inner female aspects and traits. Then the other happens outside of us. That seemed like bad news to me. I wanted him out there for real and now! Now here’s the good news. First we get our inner twins up and running together, and then like a magic light house beacon we begin to broadcast our energy ‘out there,’ our partner gets it and we are drawn together to fulfill an amazing task together. But we can’t sneak around that inner task and get to him ‘out there’ until we get our own inner him up and functioning equally with our inner her. It’s a law of the Universe. It’s often a surprise to us, but it shouldn’t be because our bodies are a walking metaphor for our inner twins. We have a left and a right heart: one part receives and one part sends. Our left eye and right eyes are called in order: the sun eye (masculine energy) and the moon eye (feminine energy). The left eye of a shaman has the power to access the other worlds through the development or balancing of her or his moon eye. But the strongest key to our inner sacred twins is our brain. We have a left and a right hemispheres and each of these sides of our brain has an entirely different set of functions. I’ve outlined them in Figure 1. Sacred twins within: Right and Left Brain Characteristics. Right, oops, I should say left inside our heads lives our left hemisphere or left brain, and on the other side of our head our right brain hemisphere happily camps out. Now get this. Our left brain controls the right side of our body and the right brain controls the left side of our body. So there is a good reason for the joke that we left handers like to tell. We are in our right mind!

A good way to get started to rebalance and rebuild your inner sacred twins is to find out which part of us is stronger: our left or our right brain, or our inner male or female. Here are two quizzes you can take to help you figure out more about yourself and your own inner brain balance. Quiz 1. and Quiz 2. After you have completed each quiz the results will be provided for you as will more information on left and right brain skills generally. Our inner feminine or right brain sees the big picture; it’s the creator of ideas and dreamer of visions. It brings things together to understand them, uses symbols, metaphors and images, and it appreciates and nurtures. It’s intuitive and feelings based. Our inner masculine: well it functions like most men in society. It’s linear, analyzes things by breaking it into bits and pieces, is the part of us that moves our ideas (feminine) into action. It’s the ‘make it so’ part of us. Our inner male energy is detail oriented, operates from facts and logic, and uses words, numbers and language. It is also the part that acknowledges or markets or sells our skills ‘out there’ in the world. The biggest thing to get is that we need them both to work together. And both to be equal. Don’t be too surprised to find out that you are out of balance. We all are out of balance until we undertake the quest to rebalance ourselves. In fact, we frequently have really strong inner male twins and weaker inner female twins. We are a product of our society which is itself out of balance in favor of left brain beliefs and energies and is quite uncomfortable with right brain characteristics like intuition, creativity, spiritual awareness. Once we are balanced we enter into our centre where our true strength and power lives. If you look at the butterfly image in Figure 1, you will see how the left or male side and right (female) side overlap in the middle. When we are balanced, we enter into our true wholeness which comes together in our hearts, that magical space that not only sits in the centre of our bodies. Our heart IS the sacred centre where our twins eventually come together and rejoin together. It is when we reach here, the bringing together of the two sides of ourselves that we also open our third eye, and we enter our knowing and wholeness. We become one with all that is in the Universe, and all knowing. So do you know what your Sacred Twins, your female and male energies are doing?

The Pangs of Birth First I heard the sound of a box of toys dumped onto the living room floor, then I saw my gatherings. Collections of visual delights, words that sing and tools that hum, all to be part of the internal piece of art. Have I worked on it today, or have I just been drifting? I say “Someday, somewhere,

somehow it will manifest.”

It boils and rolls beneath like molten, flowing lava waiting to erupt and spew a highway of fire before me. All my visions, glowing red, hiss as they meet ice cold water, now ready to be reshaped then reheated, again and again. Creation’s hammer works the form beyond my limitations as I wait for the alignment of forces and the birthing portal to appear. So long in coming, so long in coming… may it burst forth now and shake the ground! Margie Kivel 18 July 2010

My

life has been a long journey back to self. The first expressions were through my artwork. Then in 1998 I was ordained and served as the pastor of a Spiritualist Church for 5 years. Once I learned to trust spirit, it became an incredible experience of painting with words. Marriage took me to the east side of Michigan, but the spiritual work continued and my husband and I worked the platform together, he from the left side of the brain and I from the right side.

My

husband’s death in January of 2009 ended everything. It felt like I had been shot from a cannon, and left as puffed rice in a bowl. In the early hours of the morning I started writing poetry. That became the focus of my journey and the means of my healing. Every day is a new revelation and a new vision as I continue to write and find myself. My hope is that someone will find a tidbit in one of my poems to chew upon, a connection of experience. It is all grist for the mill. Margie Kivel Harpswell, Maine

When

was the last time you played with no attachment or care in the world to outcome? Were you able to allow yourself to have fun and not be attached to winning? This weekend I had the chance to play with friends and noticed myself observing the competitive player. I felt sorry for Sally. In her desire to win she sucked all joy out of the activity for herself. Carefully checking each bowling ball for perfection, pausing to strategize each shot, oh wait now the perfect ball arrived, switching balls, deep breath, sliding into perfect form, a careful release and a gutter ball! At no time did she laugh in those moments following. I am sure the mental tape was stuck on “Must try harder, must do better”! To those observing it actually became funny because it was so ridiculous. Sally was a terrible bowler and so were the rest of us. Nobody else cared but Sally. I laughed when I got three gutter balls in a row. I wasn’t there to be the best. I was there to play and have fun. The freedom of not being attached to performance was very liberating. In moments in life the “Sally“ comes out in all of us and thank god or life would be chaos. However there are moments that Sally “the control freak” needs a vacation. A very popular parenting phrase is “Pick your battles” – this phrase can be applied to many life circumstances as well. Pick your moments of controlling and moments of releasing to game of life. Bowling really is the perfect metaphor! Think about it. I choose my ball, take my stance, and draw my arm back as I step into position and release. Once I release the ball my control ends, unless I chase the ball down the lane. How often though do we stand there watching the ball rolling down the lane willing it with our mind that the ball move slightly to the left or the right? The ball continues on in the path predestined.

Next time you’re doing group activities begin to observe yourself and those around you. Ask yourself the following questions.

Phil Nielsen The Rune I pulled this month for you is:

Kenaz

It is the rune of the torch or the hearth fire. The ancient symbol of a torch meant spiritual enlightenment-“the torch that lights the way”. The Scots still use the word ken to denote knowledge. In a casting it shows a time of opening up, of good things coming into your life. It could be a new romance, or the birth of a child. In questions of romance Kenaz always signifies the male, no matter what the sex of the querent. It could be the male offering something to the female, such as jewelry, flowers or the declaration of love. It is also the rune of creativity and as such, is especially important to artists and craftsmen. The subjects may also be required to use their knowledge to help someone less fortunate than themselves. In reverse, it signifies loss or an offer that will be withdrawn, although that may be mitigated by the accompanying runes. www.nourishpublication.com

The next rune in our study of the Elder Futhark is Thurisaz. I have seen different opinions regarding which god it represents but, as I am reading Gods of the Runes by Frank Joseph and he says that it was Thor’s rune before the name was changed, that is who I will speak about.

Thor was known as the Protector God, not only of Asgard, but also Midgard (humankind). He is also considered very lucky by the gods. The rune symbol in fact looks much like Mjolnir, the

short handled war hammer which only Thor could wield. It is known in English as Striker. In pre-Christian times, Mjolnir’s image was reproduced as a protective amulet to be worn around the neck, or in sacred ceremonies where meals or new-born infants were blessed with the sign of Thor. This gesture was eventually replaced by a similar sign of the Christian cross. There is a story about Mardal-Freya, the goddess of love and beauty, who was in Midgard gathering flowers one day. Alberich, a niflheimer (dwarf) surprised her as she was about to return to her golden cart which is drawn by two white cats. Niflheimers were not the funny little dwarves of Disney stories but rather misshapen ugly little creatures that the gods and goddesses treated with wary regard. In fact they were known as the Great Masters of the Lie. He smiled at her with leering grin but held out the most beautiful necklace in the world. This was Brisingamen, the Ornament of Brising. In his most cloying voice he told her that he had no use for such beauty and if she wanted it, he would sell it to her cheap. She was thrilled but suddenly she became wary and asked him how he acquired the necklace, as it belonged to the Brisling tribe’s first woman, the wife of their chieftain. Alberich, with mock sympathy, told Freya that she had died and her husband had given it to him as partial payment for a debt. He didn’t know why he had accepted such a beautiful piece of jewelry but was willing to sell it to her. She should have suspected something was not right but the beauty of Brisingamen blinded her instincts. It was, in fact, cursed. Alberich had sold it to the Brising and soon after, they found themselves in terrible debt and their queen died, strangling on something unseen. As he placed the necklace around MardalFreya’s neck and clasped it shut, he cackled with glee. When she asked how much he wanted, he laughed and said, “I already have what I want…You”. Because of the curse she had no way of removing the necklace and had to follow him as he called her all manner of vile names and told www.nourishpublication.com

her all the things him and his Niflheimers were going to do to her before they threw her broken body over the walls of Asgard. They came to a huge pile of boulders that suddenly transformed into a huge giant of stone. The giants name was Hrungnir. Alberich told him to watch for intruders and they pass thru his legs to the edge of the Baltic Sea. He leaves her there to go get his fellow Niflheimers so they can all ravage the goddess. The Niflheimers hated the gods and goddesses of Asgard for how they were perceived. Meanwhile, Mardal-Freya’s empty golden cart arrived at the foot of the rainbow bridge that leads to Asgard. Heimdall is so alarmed by this that he blows his golden horn. A search for the missing goddess by every Aesir, Asynir, aided by the Vanir and all the spirits of the fallen heroes turns up nothing. Thor quickly buckles on Megin-gioerd, a broad belt that doubles his already enormous strength, then pulls on Iarn Greiper (iron Gripper), his power glove. He then snatches up his war hammer, Mjolnir and leaps into his brazen war chariot pulled by two huge he-goats. At the sound of his thunderous “Hiyah” Tanngniortr and Tanngrrisnr bolt thru the gates of Asgard and into the sky. He is convinced that the giants have taken Mardal-Freya and revels in the anticipation of battle with them. He comes to the edge of the Baltic Sea and decides to start his search there. Striding towards a rocky ridge it suddenly becomes a rock giant. He laughs as he recognizes Hrungnir and asks what the Jotenheimer is doing in Midgard. Hrungnir tells him he can go no further and to return home or face the consequences. Thor laughs and says “as you wish” and gives Mjolnir a mighty swing which then ricochets off the giant’s head, shattering it and instantly killing him. Thor extends his gloved right hand, yet Mjolnir did not return as it always had in the past. He had not gone far when he found it but as he was pulling it from between rocks where it had been wedged, he heard Mardal-Freya weeping on the beach and he rushed to her. She ex-

plains what happened to her and how the necklace is cursed. Thor knows about the curse but says it is not as powerful as Alberich would have everyone believe. He makes the sign of the four cardinal directions with his war hammer and the necklace unclasps and falls to the ground. He then picks it up with Iarn Greiper and throws it into the sky, where it is known in Viking Times as Brisingamen, or today’s Milky Way. He notices light nodules of a gold he has never seen before and asks what they are. “While in captivity, I wept, and as my tear drops fell into the sea, they were transformed into ocean gold. As we go, I will transfer my sorrow into the trees along the shore. They will cry my shame and sadness into the water, making amber of the tree sap they shed. There will be healing in these nuggets for all who seek them” As Thor escorts her to his cart, she lets out a scream. A horde of Niflheimers, her intended ravishers, are descending in their direction. They pause, confused, at the remains of Hrungnir, which gives Thor time to leap on them in a rage, crushing them like maggots under Mjolnir. He is like a boy with a toy hammer, squashing dwarves almost mindlessly, although Alberich was the first to escape, being the most cowardly of the lot. Freya yells “Stop”. “Do you want to exterminate the whole race of Niflheimers”? Thor says “Gladly, but everyone is waiting your return” Then after smashing one more dwarf under Striker, almost as an afterthought, whisks her away to Asgard. There is a joyous homecoming and after Thor had explained the fortunate circumstance of how he found Freya while looking for Mjolnir, Odin toasts him with “Luck always be with you and it ever will be with us”

was said to have roared like a bull when he swung his hammer. Even in sixteenth century Prussia, he was worshipped among sacred groves which were off-limits to Christians. His popularity may have stemmed from patronage by the common people as opposed to Odin’s association with the nobility. Thor’s color is red; his gem is the bloodstone, which guards against deception, one of the rune’s negative characteristics. The bloodstone is traditionally and appropriately associated with thunder and lightning. Throughout Scandinavia the rowan tree is sacred to him under the title of Thor’s Deliverance. In Germany, he is said to have favored the oak with his thunderbolts and twentieth century scientists have discovered that oaks do, in fact, attract lightning because the water rises to greater heights than any other trees Thor shares Breidablikk, the Broad Gleaming of Leo, with Ullr and Odin, from July 29 – August 13. This is also the period of the most thunder activity in the western world. Like Thor himself, the rune stands for protection, strength, vitality, and good luck. Reversed it signifies weakness, diminishing resistance, lessening powers (physically, intellectually, emotionally, or spiritually), defenselessness, misfortune, or lack of success. We fail, for whatever reason, to follow helpful advice or counsel and overconfidently go on our way, oblivious to pitfalls. We may also, justifiably or not, feel paranoid that we are being plotted against. Reversed, the rune warns of a challenge, difficult test, or danger. “It employs the destructive force that is necessary in battling enemies and chaos, although it can also cause chaos” McVan. Thor was worshipped far beyond Scandinavia. He was worshipped in at least six major sanctuaries in England. Thurstable in Essex is the Anglicization of Thor’s Pillar. The Phoenician thunder deity was Thur, the bull, the same name the Normans, thousands of years later, used to revere the god. The Germanic Thor www.nourishpublication.com

KRYON CHANNELLING The Recalibration of "Shoulds"

This live channelling was Given in Patagonia (bottom of South America) January 26, 2012

To help the reader, this channelling has been revisited [by Lee and Kryon] to provide even clearer understanding. Often what happens live has implied energy within it, which carries a kind of communication that the printed page does not. So enjoy this enhanced message given in Patagonia on the Kryon Kundalini Cruise.

Greetings, dear ones, I am Kryon of Magnetic Service. Have you started to feel it yet? There's a difference in your perception, which makes it easier for you to come along with me to a quantum place. The ship [Cruise Ship] isolates you from the land just enough to suspend the reality of your everyday life. By the time you end this cruise, you will have bonded with the family with an energy of joy. Some solutions will be at hand, there will be a few epiphanies, and right now there is the potential for three healings. For some, peace will be delivered, replacing anxiety. There'll be some clarity on some future plans as well, all because you sat together with me here today.

Your willingness to do this creates a state that is a different paradigm, a different way of being, an allowance for clearer thinking. The more often you do it, the more often you will feel the shift. So I want you to enjoy this moment and relax in it, knowing it is indeed safe and appropriate and proper. Dear ones, open your heart this day. You've done many heartfelt things this day [during the seminar], so now let us do some exercises in spiritual logic. This will not be a long channelling, but I'll do some information transfer for you. I will call this the recalibration of "shoulds" - things you feel you should do or should not do according to those who are in charge. "In charge of what?" you might ask. Well, they are the ones who are in charge of "shoulds", and you know who they are. They are tradition, spiritual authority, history and the learning of the past. The information I give is specific for every should, but not necessarily what you have been taught. Things are changing, and www.nourishpublication.com

with the recalibration of energy on the planet, the puzzle you have worked for a long time as a Lightworker is starting to shift as well. There are only a few questions about the shoulds to cover today, but they will be questions that are answered easily, but asked quite often. They cover a lot of different kinds of subjects.

Worship Let's start with a spiritual one: God is the creator of the world, correct? Indeed, He is. Indeed, She is. Should not the creator then be worshipped? For all of mankind has seen this fact and has, therefore, worshipped the idea of God in many forms from the very beginning. In the New Age esoteric movement, there is no worship. There truly are no grand altars or buildings. There is no place to kneel and give God thanks for anything. So some might face off with you and point their fingers and say, "You are not worshipping as you should." What is the answer to this? And what would you say? I've given the metaphor before: Do you believe you are a piece of the creator? The masters who walked the planet have told you that you are. One of the most recent ones, the Christ, identified himself and He said, "I am the Son of God," and then he looked up and said, "And so are you." So it is the great "I am" that is inside you, but this is difficult to see or understand, for Humans look for grandness in divinity. They look for what they expect would be God in the sky, but they do not see that attribute inside themselves. So let us redefine the "I am". Let us decide what

July 2012

(Continued on page 36)

(Continued from page 35)

the Son of God terminology means. It means you are related to the creator. It means that the creator may very well be a family member. It means that you have information and understanding inside that you are, indeed, a family member. You have tranquility, lack of drama and safety when you think about what is inside yourself. So that which is inside the Human is not necessarily felt as the grandness of the creator, but the family of the creator. So I ask, how do you treat your biological family? Which one have you worshipped lately? Mother? Father? Sister? Brother? And you would say, "No, we do not worship one

another. We respect one another. We look forward to being with certain family members. Sisters and brothers. There's no drama, but rather there is often the expectation of fun, enjoyment and joy. We care about one another. We love one another." And that, dear one, is the answer to this should!

Instead of worship, there's appreciation, acknowledgment, ceremony of thanks and love. That is a big difference from "down on your knees" worship, don't you see? Why not emulate the Master's words? If you are a Son of God, then don't worship God. Instead, be part of the family. Appreciate that which is inside. Feel close to the creator when you sit in the chair and do not elevate that which should not be elevated, but love that which should be loved. Communal Living for Strength Here's another one: Some of you have been told that it makes more sense for Lightworkers to clump together, for logically, this would create more light. It would make more sense because Lightworkers would be of like mind and come together as a group and live together as a group. They could then better build that city as a group which has been called the light on the hill. In addition, grouping together will create better communication, teaching and protection against the older energies of Earth and those things that would get in the way of the path of a true Lightworker. Is there anything wrong with this? Now I will tell you that those who would say this to you are in an old, linear paradigm. They're looking for things they feel will build a greater life, but have lost sight of what a Lightworker really does. You are learning to be a self-sufficient creator of www.nourishpublication.com

life. You could walk into the wilderness and contain all that is. This is the core of the statement, "I am that I am." The statement is not, "I am that I am, as long as they are what they are." You see? You are a self-sufficient lighthouse! When is the last time you saw a great deal of lighthouses all on one rock? They don't need each other! When is the last time you saw a lighthouse convention? "Well, that's silly," you might say. "Lighthouses

are all anchored on rocks. They cannot come and visit one another." Correct, but they can certainly

send light to one another, could they not? After all, that's what a Lighthouse is equipped for. Perhaps Lightworkers can even be entangled with one another quantumly, and then distance would not matter? [quantum entanglement was mentioned in the seminar] So perhaps it's time for you to change the paradigm of how you imagine your place on the planet. Do you need protection? Is your light in danger? When you leave this place and the boat that you are on docks for its final time on your cruise, you will all scatter. You'll go all over the world. Some of you will go unwillingly with tears in your eyes and you will say, "I liked this. I would like to stay doing this." But I can tell you that you are looking at an old paradigm to have sorrow at all! Once you have touched the heart of another, it's for life if you want it to be. You can connect and stay connected if you want. Your meeting here may create a network of light as you return to those places where you anchor yourself on your own rock and, all by yourself, create light in a dark place where you might live. Do you understand? There is no should to live together as a group. If you were to do such a thing, it leaves the rest of the planet in the dark! It is incredibly self-serving and does nothing for anyone but the group. Those who do it just want to feel good with each other, and it does not help the planet. That's the second should. Spiritual Eating - What Food Is For You? Let us change the subject. "Kryon, what should I

eat as a Lightworker? I've heard many ideas. There are the ones who eat meat and the ones who do not, the ones who remove themselves from all things processed, and those who don't. There are even those who eat nothing at all and only breathe air! What is the thing I should do to

honor God, and my body, with the food I eat?" Immediately there will be those who point to many spiritual scriptures and say, "This is what you should do." Others, less spiritual, may give you pure chemistry for cleansing and diet and health. Still others will stick with the tradition of your family heritage or ponder the integrity of eating an animal. So where is the truth in this? It appears to have apparent logic and makes sense to many. Dear ones, what is the goal? Is it to be healthy and, at the same time, honor God? Most would say, "Yes." All right, it's time for some spiritual logic. Question: Where did we establish that God was? Answer: The creator is inside you. So how do you honor that divine plan that is inside you? The answer is to stay alive as long as you can! It's to hold your light on the planet as long as you can. So how can I give one dietary "should" to all of you who are so unique and different? For that matter, how could anyone give a generic instruction about one "correct diet" to such a vast array of different Human body types? Yet they do. Here's the answer: Inside each of you there's something called innate. Innate is "body intelligence". Innate is the energy of body consciousness you use when you do "muscle testing" [kinesiology]. Innate knows what's happening at the very cellular level of your own body, which you do not know. Innate is the consciousness of your DNA itself. It's the ultimate source for your own "body awareness". Innate knows about something called Akashic inheritance. This is the knowledge of who you used to be in past lives. All your dietary needs, to stay alive longer with health, are based on a cellular structure that knows what it wants and needs, and it "needs" what it is used to, dear ones. It doesn't matter who you are or where you live. If you have arrived on this planet from a past lifetime in India, you're going to want to eat like an Indian - even if you are in Montana! If you had spent lifetimes in Asia, and today you're from Brooklyn, you might still want to eat like an Asian. Your chemistry "remembers" and craves what it feels will satisfy efficient digestion and health. Your Akashic inheritance is far stronger than you give it credit for. Past life energies are NOT in the past! They are a quantum energy of your spiritual www.nourishpublication.com

makeup that is current and something you carry around as part of your "whole self" this time around. They affect you! The body will tell you that very thing, if you ask it. Your cellular structure will cry out for those things that you are used to, and will make your body relax and be comfortable with the chemistry it is used to. If you are new to this culture and spent the last five lifetimes in another one, don't be surprised if the former culture's diet is what you crave. The vegetarian diet will be something that serves him/her because they're in touch with their Akash. They are eating what their cellular structure thrives to eat, not what someone told them to eat to make them more spiritual. Pay attention to your body intelligence, for it will tell you a lot about who you've been. There is no should except one: Stay alive and be healthy. Listen to your cellular structure and it will tell you what you should eat. Is this not spiritual logic for you? Do not try to convert another to your "correct way" of eating. Honor the Akashic system and realize that your innate knows far better than you do what will work for you. My partner is currently attempting the "Glutton Free" diet. [Kryon humor] Should I use Doctors and Drugs to Heal Me or Spiritual Methods?

"Dear Kryon, I have heard that you should

stay natural and not use the science on the planet for healing. It does not honor God to go to a doctor. After all, don't you say that we can heal with our minds? So why should we ever go to a doctor if we can do it ourselves? Not only that, my doctor isn't enlightened, so he has no idea about my innate or my spiritual body needs. What should I do?"

First, Human Being, why do you wish to put so many things in boxes? You continue to want a yes and no answer for complex situations due to your 3D, linear outlook on almost everything. Learn to think out of the 3D box! Look at the heading of this section [above]. It asks which one should you do. It already assumes you can't do both because they seem dichotomous. Let's use some spiritual logic: Here is a hypothetical answer, "Don't go to a doctor, for you

July 2012

(Continued on page 38)

37

(Continued from page 37)

can heal everything with your mind." So now I

will ask: How many of you can do that in this room right now? How many readers can do that with efficiency right now? All of you are old souls, but are you really ready to do that? Do you know how? Do you have really good results with it? Can you rid disease and chemical imbalance with your mind right now? I'm going to give you a truth, whether you choose to see it or not. You're not ready for that! You are not yet prepared to take on the task of full healing using your spiritual tools. Lemurians could do that, because Pleiadians taught them how! It's one of the promises of God, that there'll come a day when your DNA works that efficiently and you will be able to walk away from drug chemistry and the medical industry forever, for you'll have the creator's energy working at 100 percent, something you saw within the great masters who walked the earth. This will be possible within the ascended earth that you are looking forward to, dear one. Have you seen the news lately? Look out the window. Is that where you are now? We are telling you that the energy is going in that direction, but you are not there yet. Let those who feel that they can heal themselves begin the process of learning how. Many will be appreciative of the fact that you have some of the gifts for this now. Let the process begin, but don't think for a moment that you have arrived at a place where every health issue can be healed with your own power. You are students of a grand process that eventually will be yours if you wish to begin the quantum process of talking to your cells. Some will be good at this, and some will just be planting the seeds of it. Now, I would like to tell you how Spirit works and the potentials of what's going to happen in the next few years. We're going to give the doctors of the planet new inventions and new science. These will be major discoveries about the Human body and of the quantum attributes therein. Look at what has already happened, for some of this science has already been given to you and you are actually using it. Imagine a science that would allow the heart to be transplanted because the one you have is failing. Of course! It's an operation done many times a month on this planet. That information came from the creator, did you www.nourishpublication.com

realize that? It didn't drop off the shelf of some dark energy library to be used in evil ways. So, if you need a new heart, Lightworker, should you go to the doctor or create one with your mind? Until you feel comfortable that you can replace your heart with a new one by yourself, then you might consider using the God-given information that is in the hands of the surgeon. For it will save your life, and create a situation where you stay and continue to send your light to the earth! Do you see what we're saying? You can also alter that which is medicine [drugs] and begin a process that is spectacular in its design, but not very 3D. I challenge you to begin to use what I would call the homeopathic principle with major drugs. If some of you are taking major drugs in order to alter your chemistry so that you can live better and longer, you might feel you have no choice. "Well, this is keeping me alive," you might say. "I don't yet have the ability to do

this with my consciousness, so I take the drugs."

In this new energy, there is something else that you can try if you are in this category. Do the following with safety, intelligence, common sense and logic. Here is the challenge: The principle of homeopathy is that an almost invisible tincture of a substance is ingested and is seen by your innate. Innate "sees" what you are trying to do and then adjusts the body's chemistry in response. Therefore, you might say that you are sending the body a "signal for balance." The actual tincture is not large enough to affect anything chemically - yet it works! The body [innate] sees what you're trying to do and then cooperates. In a sense, you might say the body is healing itself because you were able to give it instructions through the homeopathic substance of what to do. So, why not do it with a major drug? Start reducing the dosage and start talking to your cells, and see what happens. If you're not successful, then stop the reduction. However, to your own amazement, you may often be successful over time. You might be able to take the dosage that you're used to and cut it to at least a quarter of what it was. It is the homeopathy principle and it allows you to keep the purpose of the drug, but reduce it to a fraction of a common 3D dosage. You're still taking it internally, but now it's also signaling in addition to working chemically. The signal is

July 2012

(Continued on page 39)

38

(Continued from page 38)

sent, the body cooperates, and you reduce the chance of side effects. You can't put things in boxes of yes or no when it comes to the grand system of Spirit. You can instead use spiritual logic and see the things that God has given you on the planet within the inventions and processes. Have an operation, save your life, and stand and say, "Thank you, God,

for this and for my being born where these things are possible." It's a complicated subject, is it not?

Each of you is so different! You'll know what to do, dear one. Never stress over that decision, because your innate will tell you what is appropriate for you if you're willing to listen. There is no New Age. God doesn't change. Stay with tradition. Let us look at the final one. There are those who will tell you that God is the same yesterday, today and forever. They would say you should not, therefore, be in a New Age movement, for God will never change and the energy of God will always be the same. Therefore, your ideas of the energy shifting and God changing are foolishness. Then they will warn you and say, "Stay away

from the New Age and instead go with the traditions and the systems of religion and spiritual learning that are set up and have a history with billions of people on the earth."

Remove yourself from tradition, for it will only serve to keep you in a prison of your own making, where you cling to mythology and never see the magnificence of your own soul. The ONE Should You might say there is one attribute that runs all through the shoulds. You should always allow yourself spiritual discernment in all things. Do not compartmentalize the energies around you something your linear mind wishes to do. Instead, meld these things into a soup of spiritual logic that makes sense for your life. Do not apply your rules to any other Human Being, but instead find out what works for you and celebrate it as you become more healthy. Dear ones, I am the brother/sister Kryon. I know you. It doesn't matter whether you are young or an elder in this group. All of you are old souls who will be together a very long time. Remember this. The first month of 2012. The beginning of many new things. And so it is.

KRYON

This entire argument above is based on a misunderstanding, dear ones. Here is the statement I wish to make. God is the same yesterday, today and forever. It's beautiful, for God the creator will never change. What is changing, however, is the Human Being's relationship to an unchanging God. What is changing is the Human Being's ability to get past an older energy and, with a new energy, meet the creator inside. It is the Human Being who is changing, not God. The very environment around you is cooperating [Gaia] in order to better understand a God who is the same yesterday, today and forever. The New Age is about Human Beings recognizing that their relationship to Spirit is changing and becoming more real in their lives. This means that Humans can now begin to see and feel the creator inside in a new, profound way. New spiritual tools are at hand and an awareness of self is beginning to slowly increase. Humans are changing! God is the same. www.nourishpublication.com

A

very important part of energy, of knowing and working with energy is the aspect of recognizing and working with our own emotional energy. Have you ever noticed what you feel like when you’re angry or sad or happy? What happens to your energy? Hint: what happens to another person’s energy when they are experiencing emotion? You are most likely no different!

by Vera Enshaw www.nourishpublication.com

We cannot just push down our anger or any other emotions and expect resolution with the issues we are experiencing, yet we do. We stuff them, we push them in, try to squash them. We do that particularly with what we call negative emotions July 2012

40

anger, fear, sorrow and guilt – we squash them. We also squash happiness and joy, especially if we are feeling somewhat low and are determined to hold onto that low. We experience events that threaten to bring us to happiness, that could bring us the opportunity to be happy and we squash that feeling flat!

channeling, and found it incredibly helpful!) This tool is one that you will need to practice – make a phrase that you can use as a mantra and repeat it to yourself. When a situation arises that calls for balance and equanimity, you will be ready to respond, rather than react. (It will be helpful if you remember to breathe!)

There are the “spiritual” ways to deal with emotion. Does this sound familiar? “Let it go, just let it go.” I’m sure you have found as I have that “letting it go” doesn’t work. Mostly what we are doing when we “let it go” is denying the existence of the emotions and … squashing them. Which means they are still there, still in our emotions, still impacting us on the energetic and the cellular level.

I must caution you that stepping across the short wall or detaching and observing does mean that you forego the snappy comeback, the quick retort. That can be difficult, because the retort is so often right on the tip of our tongue, ready to fly out. I think you will find that this avenue will afford you more peace of mind and happier relationships with fewer fireworks than you currently experience!

So - what can you do when you are experiencing an emotion that you are less than happy about experiencing? Or how do you begin to shift from reacting and to responding? How about this?

What happens to your emotional energy when you practice stepping across the short wall? It smooths right out, becomes more harmonious and you become more in line with the person you want to be.

In Lesson One of The Creator Series (presented at the Crimson Circle, August 19, 2000), Tobias (channeled by Geoffrey Hoppe) says:

Until next month—Namasté

“Imagine a short wall and stand behind it. Consciously walk over that wall. Stand on the other side of that wall and simply observe what is going on. Observe the dynamics that are occurring on the side of the wall that you just left.

If there is a family argument going on between others, instead of choosing one side, or instead of deciding that you need to be the moderator and the pacifier, simply do not get caught up in that conflict that is occurring. Consciously allow yourself to cross over the short wall. Simply step back. Stand on the other side of the wall. Observe what is going on. Make no judgment of what is going on.” When you realize that you are experiencing an emotional reaction, visualize that short wall and yourself stepping across the wall so that you can look back at what is going on. Be adventuresome – do this with all your emotional reactions – joy and happiness are as interesting to experience across the short wall as anger & fear! If you have problems visualizing the short wall, you can “detach and observe.” (I actually did this for a number of years prior to reading the www.nourishpublication.com

The animal who chooses to come to me this month is Lion. I say chose because he kept coming to me in meditation. Briefly he would be standing in front of me looking deeply into my soul. I have to admit that I did not jump up from my meditation and look up lion, no not me. Lion had to appear in 4 different meditations before I decided I should look up this proud creature. The most I can say about lion from past experiences is I remember seeing “Clarence the Cross Eyed Lion” when I turned 13 and having a love affair with the book “The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe” for as long as I can remember. I have read that book so many times I have lost count. Of course I would be remiss if I did not include here “Born Free”, “The Wizard of Oz”, and “The Lion King”. Now using that as the source to get my initial information I know that lions can be cowardly, gentle, loyal and fierce. They are regal looking animals that suggest they really are the kings of the jungle. Their very presence begs us to have respect for them. They live in prides and are very community oriented; at least that is my perspective. Given that I feel when an animal comes to you it has a message, my experience was not very vast. I could not grasp the message that lion was sharing with me. So it was off to my other resources to see if I could piece the puzzle together.

Lions are symbols for feminine power, courage, confidence, command, and brotherhood. July 2012

Contrary to popular belief, lions don’t go around looking for confrontation and roaring to show off their power, they prefer to live a laid back life and only attack when the need arises. Letting us know that we need to relax and not get worked up over the little things, to save our “roar” for the bigger things in life that really matter. It is better to observe your surroundings and get a feel for what is going on than to jump in and attack. It speaks about leadership and settling into that role. Perhaps in your family unit or at work you have been asked to step into the role of leader. If you are like me this is not a role that you are always comfortable with, and yet when lion shows up he is letting you know you are more than capable of accepting that role and you can indeed thrive when you let go of the fear and step up to the plate. You are stronger than you think and can accomplish more than you realize. Confidence is a key factor to lion medicine. You have a love of yourself not in a conceited way but in a way that suggests you are strong enough to love who you are and where you are in life. You are also a very loyal person who stands up for, not only your beliefs, but also those you love. Protection is key for yourself and those you include in your “pride”. When you feel like you or your peeps are being threatened you can stand your ground and give as good as you get. Even when you are feeling overwhelmed with life there is this endless reserve of strength in you. So much so, that you are able to push beyond your own limits and encourage others to do the same. You have infinite belief in yourself and don’t hesitate to ask the same of others. Showing them that through courage and perseverance they are capable of doing much more than they thought possible. You like to bring out the very best in others. The message I have taken away from lion showing up is balance of feminine and masculine energies within me. I have always considered that leadership, confidence, courage, and command are aspects of the masculine side of me. In fact, if I look back over my life, I can see where due to responsibilities, I slid totally into the masculine while forsaking the inherent feminine. Each time I looked up lion, feminine power was first and foremost. Almost like it was beating me over the brow to make its message clear. Even when I am being asked to be in a leadership role I need to have both aspects balanced. While I need the masculine analytical side of me to clear the path, the feminine heart space side will soften the way for all.

www.nourishpublication.com

A friend also pointed out that Archangel Ariel and the goddess Sekhmet are also associated with lion. I had forgotten about angels and gods/goddesses being associated with animals so went to my vast collection of oracle cards to have a look at the messages they could be offering. Archangel Ariel’s name means “lion or lioness of God”, and she reflects the qualities of bravery, courage, focus, and elegant movements. If you notice images of lions or lionesses, this signals Ariel is with you. Archangel Ariel loves all living beings and gladly helps all who ask. Ariel is a master manifestor and can help with manifesting. Call upon her to help you attract any support you need for your life’s mission. Sekhmet (pronounced SEK-met) This Egyptian warrior goddess’s name means “powerful” or “strong and mighty” depending on where you find your information. She is connected with lions symbolizing her fiercely protective nature. The daughter of sun god Ra legend has it she breathes fire to protect those she watches over. Call upon Sekhmet when you need courage, protection or inner strength.

Archangel Chamuel is most commonly known as the angel of love and compassion. (S)He can be helpful in dealing with communication issues, relationships, ethnic and racial tension, and to assist in situations where we are looking for things we have lost, or cannot find. As a channel for messages from Chamuel, I have found he has a strong desire to support the opening of our heart chakra, especially at this critical time in our development.

“Welcome once again, Dear Heart, to the twelfth issue of this publication, filled with nourishment for your body and soul. It is I, Archangel Chamuel, sharing the loving energy of the angelic realms. Twelve is a beautiful number, filled with balance and a myriad of options. There are many ways to express it.... two sixes, six twos, three fours or four threes, twelve singles or a single twelve. They are all different, but each combination creates the perfect whole number. Because of its variability and balance, twelve can be represented by many elaborate geometrical shapes, and is the foundation number for much of the universe, such as degrees in a circle and hours in an Earth day. Twelve apostles, twelve days of Christmas, the twelve tribes of Israel.... it has long been recognized as a sacred number in many religions and spiritual traditions. This month I invite you to embrace the balance of twelve. See all the possibilities that bring it back to itself. This is the nature of universal balance. There is never a sole perfect solution, but always an endless variety of perfect combinations. As you seek to find the implicit truth of your Self – your own perfect path – know that there are an infinite number of ways to express your own 'twelve-ness'. This applies to all aspects of your body, mind and soul, and may change from moment to moment. Are you a cluster of twelve singles today, or the

polarity of two equal sixes? We beg you not to take this metaphor too literally, but to allow your imagination to play with the ways it may have meaning for you. Bring it to mind the next time you are in doubt or conflict, and see what gift of insight it may bring. With that somewhat teasing preamble, we are ready for this month's questions.”

How do I ask for help from my angels?

Question:

Chamuel: “Truly, you may ask in any way that feels appropriate in the moment. The most important thing is that you do ask. Please believe this as you read it.... all of the light beings in the higher realms, from the simplest angel 'drones' to the grandest archangels and beyond, all of us are here in service to you. There is no higher honour than to assist the human on their journey. Therefore, you may scream our name when you are in pain, or whisper to us in your sorrow. Whether in solemn prayer before you sleep or in friendly conversation during your morning shower, we are with you, hearing every syllable that passes your lips, and feeling every thought that travels through your mind. We also understand the deepest wishes of your heart, but we are obliged not to interfere with your life choices unless invited. This is our angelic 'NonInterference Directive!' This is why it is very important that you ask us for help. What is it you need? Support during a job interview? Patience with your new partner? Protection during a challenging task? Maybe just a good parking spot? If you've lost a personal treasure or are looking for your soul mate, these are things I am especially talented in helping with. Simply

soften your awareness, and bring your focus to us instead of your problem. Then ask us for whatever you need in that moment, and know you have been heard. A word of advice. Requests for assistance that support you along your evolutionary path tend to receive more desirable results. Requests that are counter to your highest expression ('I wish you would turn that b*#!$ to stone!') tend to backfire. A simple, 'Please help me with this,' can never go wrong.” Question: Chamuel:

Are there dark angels? “True angels are beings of light.

They do not know or operate in darkness. There are, however, lesser beings in the nearEarth realms who engage with the darker forces of anger and fear. Angels can protect you from these, and, in fact, you can protect yourself by simply turning your back on them. If you do not interact with them they have no reason to hang around. If a troublesome being should appear, simply direct them to leave, and they can have no power over you. Call on angelic support if you doubt your own ability to do this. Archangel Michael is especially gifted in the area of protection, but any guardian angel or other light being can keep you safe from all things you choose to reject. Calling on the angels for help brings only a loving and compassionate response. (FYI, if something has attracted a darker entity into your life, you can often ward them off by sending kind and loving thoughts their way. They hate that! ;)”

Yoga

may be trendy for more than just the bendy types! Honest to God there is a form of yoga that every person on the planet can practice. Coming to a community centre near you. The recent explosion of yoga for the masses has a created a modified version for all. Yet often in conversation I still hear people give a reason of why yoga isn’t for them. Here are the most common top five:

I am not flexible Its against my religion I’m too big I need something more physical I can’t relax Lets take a look at each one of these. The top excuse of I’m not flexible is my favorite! These individual are the only ones really getting their monies worth each and every class. Furthermore one doesn’t need to flexible to lay on the www.nourishpublication.com

floor propped with pillows in restorative yoga. Yoga isn’t all about flexibility it also requires strength, balance and focus. Next time you’re in class notice the poses that challenge you and the ones that come easy. We all a few of each not matter who you are.

It’s against my religion. The world is rich with cultural and spiritual differences. Yoga is too. The practice can be a simple series of stretches to create relaxation in the body or a deep spiritual experience journeying to enlightenment. Yoga will only go as far as you take it. Nowhere in any text I have ever seen is it a sin to touch your toes or focus on your breath. If you need relief from tight muscles go to a stretch class most of it will be yoga in many cases. Allow yoga to be an invitation to opening your heart and giving in service.

I’m too big! Then you need to get to a yoga class before taking on the gym or the latest boot camp craze. Yoga is a gentle form of exercise and relaxation that will help you build strength and increase your cardiovascular. Sometimes yoga can feel daunting when you’re surrounded by skinny minis’ and are you there for you or to impress the person next to you. Another bonus you may not know is that over the years I have noticed that larger bodies tend to be more flexible in many poses. So you may actually surprise yourself at how good you are by the end. Besides everyone deserves some relaxation and the feeling of being centered and grounded.

Needing something more physical than yoga? Well I encourage You want to sweat folks?

you to do 20 sun salutations and let me know if you’re breathing heavy yet? Want more variety then try a power class or two to get the blood flowing. Yoga can be a very physical experience with the right poses and pace. Now hup hup buttercup and try out the sun salutations. If I can’t relax is your best excuse then I really think you need to be in a yoga class. Choose one that has the right mix to keep your mind busy and is constantly bringing your attention back to the breath. Relaxation is an important skill to be able to utilize for general health and longevity. You really need yoga. When is comes to the end of class try to find a teacher that leads a guided meditation rather than pure silence. By listening to a guided meditation it gives the mind a mini vacation from all the usual thoughts and concerns. Allowing the mind to travel to the center of your bliss with a gentle nudge. Breath work is also very helpful to encourage relaxation. When you finally relax you discover new things about yourself. Be gentle they are all cues of how to care for ourselves on a deeper level. You’re worth it! In short Yoga in one form or another can benefit us all. By being open to all the gifts yoga has to offer you may discover a new passion for this growing trend. Love your body, be gentle with yourself and breathe into each moment. Shine On!

LIFE THROUGH TAROT By Marlene Cobb

When last we left our traveler, the fool, he had just decided to take on a mate and travel down the path with her. Life we can assume has been going well for the Fool, happy and content in his decision that having this woman by his side will bring fulfillment. On this day the fool is taking a quiet stroll on his own contemplating his life. He feels there are many obstacles in his way and is unable to clear the confusion in his mind on what his next step should be. Next on his path the fool comes to the Chariot. In each card that we see above us, we can see a couple things that are the same. All three have a person who is driving the chariot, in charge so to speak. Next we notice that there are two animals in each card, pulling this chariot. In both the Rider Waite and the Gilded Tarot the artist used sphinx to depict the animals and while the Rider Waite has the animals looking in opposite directions, the Gilded has both looking head on and the driver looking to the side. In the Shadowscapes deck Unicorns are used to represent the animals pulling the chariot. Neither the animals or the driver are looking forward. Each is looking a different way. The Fool calls out “Good day “ to the Chariot driver. “You seem to be victorious to have such a fine chariot and steeds. I feel stuck and unable to move forward right now, can you offer me some advice?” The driver looks over the fool and takes a moment to respond. “First you must ensure you are prepared to go into battle. Have all of your tools ready, mental, emotional, and physical. Next you must focus on your goal. Where do you mean to go and what do you mean to do? You are the one that must pull everything together and direct it in the direction you wish to go. To look to outside influences to lead you will (Continued on page 49)

(Continued from page 48)

not accomplish your goals, instead you will be attending to their goals.” The fool thinks about this for a moment and slowly nods his head. “yes I understand what you are sharing. What if someone or something gets in my way though?” "You run them down. Your aim is victory, and to be victorious you must have unwavering confidence in your cause. Never question, never doubt what you're trying to achieve. Never lose your focus or your motivation." As with any vehicle that is being driven, all aspects need to be focused on the same direction. The wheels of a car need to be lined up in the direction that you wish to go, and the driver needs to focus his attention in that direction as well. The same is true with horse drawn wagons and sphinx or unicorn drawn chariots. The driver is the person in charge and must direct the wheels or the animals in the direction he wishes to go. All need to work together to bring about the desired outcome. When all is not working in harmony with each aspect, life clogs up. It feels as if a standstill has been reached and there is no forward movement. We can get a sense of this from the Rider and Gilded decks, there is no motion at all. The Shadowscape deck does give the illusion of movement yet when I look at that card I wonder how long till a crash happens. Have you noticed that in each card the drivers are not holding any reins? This gives me the suggestion that while each driver has the desire to move forward, they are not yet ready or willing to do what needs to be done to get there. The Chariot is about taking back your power. Focus on your goals and dreams and don’t let distractions pull you away from the course at hand. You are the only one who is driving your life. Take the necessary steps to harmonize all the parts, pick up the reins, and drive forward. If you are feeling stuck or like life is stacked against you, this card lets you know that you are the “driver” and you have total control to stay stuck or move forward.

Malachite

Marlene Cobb

Malachite

is often referred to as the “mirror of the soul. An interesting aspect of this crystal is that it is able to amplify that which you are feeling. It reaches your inner feelings and reflects what is there, negative or positive. It reminds us that we have a dual nature and it is up to each of us to know and rule our own person. It would be wise not to hold or wear malachite jewelry when you are feeling negative. Malachite is always green, with a light green base and dark green concentric circles. The greater the contrast, in fact, between the paler green background and the rich green, almost black bands, the greater the healing properties of the piece of malachite. Malachite has a long history with the Egyptian cultures going as far back as 4000 B.C. The ancient Egyptians obtained their malachite from the Sinai Peninsula and used it most often in amulets and statues. In the Egyptian Book of the Dead it is said that the goddess of the sky

"drops stars on the earth in the shape of green stones." The stone was one of the prime gemstones used for power by the upper class in Egypt, the headdresses of pharaohs were often lined with malachite, as this was said to raiser the ruler's vibrations to a higher level and open him to wise council. One other unique use for this stone was for face adornment. The stone was ground to a fine powder and Egyptian woman used it as eye makeup to paint their eyelids and eyelashes. In the Middle Ages malachite was used to protect children from witches and other dangers. It was also made into amulets and worn to protect one from the evil eye. A malachite crystal is a very intense stone, one that should be well understood before use. Malachite is a powerful and protective gemstone and can have a profound impact on both the body and the mind. It also has the ability

to absorb both negative energy and harmful pollutants.

tants, including the electromagnetic energy from cell phones and computers. Malachite, which contains copper, is used to reduce swelling and inflammation. A malachite bracelet may be worn in the same manner as a copper bracelet to reduce arthritic pain. This stone is also known as the midwife stone, as its energy resonates with the female sex organs. Malachite is known to be good for menstrual cramps.

“Malachite is often referred to as the Peacock Stone, as it was considered sacred to the goddess Juno, whose sacred bird was the peacock; as well, the eye like pattern within the stone resembles the eye like pattern on peacock feathers.”

Malachite can be used to for high blood pressure, asthma, vertigo, motion sickness, and tumors. It is believed to enhance the immune system and activate liver, pancreas and spleen. It can help detoxify the body at the cellular level and remove chemical pollutants and radiation from the system. Today malachite is believed to be a strong protector of children. It is said to protect the wearer from accidents and protects travelers. Malachite has been used to aid success in business and protect against undesirable business associations. It is a stone of balance in relationships.

Malachite is unique for its pulsating energy. This action tends to help clear away obstacles by sending waves of energy up and down the body, making cells aware of one another, and bringing emotional disturbances to the surface to be dealt with and released. This makes it an ideal crystal to assist in transformation and change as malachite encourages the release of deep feelings. It intensifies observation, intuition and insight making it useful to help you see the root of a problem and accept the changes that are at hand. It gently teaches one to assume responsibility for his/her own thoughts, feelings, and actions.

I think best of all is Malachite is a beautiful crystal that enhances any space you place it. The beautiful green color is calming and induces relaxation. All in all malachite is a good stone to have in your collection. If you own a piece sit with it for a while and see what comes to you. If you don’t yet own a piece of malachite, start the journey to find your piece and add it to your collection.

Again, I suggest caution when using malachite as a healing crystal. The healing process might be too overwhelming as this stone will amplify both, the positive and the negative. Cleansing of the stone would be wise before each application. The best way to cleanse malachite is to place it in the sun or on a quartz crystal cluster. Malachite crystal can also be used for healing the body and clearing environmental polluwww.nourishpublication.com
