Musings from the Editor As I sit here today in my summer garb, I give thanks for the great summer we have had. In one sense it is hard to imagine fall rushing in with all her glory. Yet, as I write this on the last day of August, the temperature has dropped by about 10 degrees and makes this easier. Soon crisp mornings will greet us and if we are lucky, warm Indian summer days will carry us through September. I have always loved September! I recall being so excited for school to start, new outfits to be worn, usually too warm for the weather but I wore them anyway. The crisp smell of apples in the orchards, and stopping to pick one to eat fresh off the tree. Now that I am older it is not so much about rushing to wear new outfits, but more about savoring the end of one season and the beginning of the next. I have always been a fan of the changing of the guard, when one season seamlessly rolls into the next. It happens slowly over time, although if you pay attention, you can be aware of the subtle changes as they happen. More often than not, life gets in the way and one day we just notice “hey, the leaves are no longer green”. Life is like that. We perservere to create, change or bring about a goal or dream and slowly it happens. Often we don’t notice the growth or change that is happening until one day there it is. Other times it comes along with a thump and we are scrambling to make sense and order of what has happened. My thoughts have been random lately and I wonder why we rush the seasons so much. I think about how back to school, started in the stores during July. I see glimpses of Thanksgiving and even Halloween appearing on the shelves now. I also know all too well that if I see something I like, I had better grab it now, for it will be gone before either of those dates roll around.

I realize that marketing has to happen, stores have to make money in order to employ people so they can earn money to purchase, not only the products in the stores, but homes and food. It is a vicious cycle that we created and seem to be locked into now. I feel it contributes to why we have become an instant gratification soceity, we are impatient and anticipation is not something we want to experience. After all, if I can buy fall clothing in August and technically I don’t really need them till October, why not have the early plan on my dream or goal? Why should I have to wait? Not wanting to wait leads to shortcuts or settling for less than what we want, only to be dismayed and have to start again (think too warm to wear those clothes). Most of us don’t realize that the purchasers started the “back to school” campaign in January or February. It does not just happen with the shelves being filled overnight to awe us in the morning. We only see the reduced sale of one “season” and the fresh arrival of the next. Not the behind the scenes dreaming, planning and work that goes along with it.

If I could avoid stores and malls I would. Unfortunately I need them to purchase basic needs. I can however take the dictates of nature and follow my own seasons. I can allow each phase to arrive at the exact right moment and celebrate it with joy. I can stop wanting things to happen faster than is physically possible, and anticipate the day they will arrive. All good things come to those who wait. Rushing usually causes chaos, and not stellar results. Slow and steady wins the race. I can dream, plan and work towards my goals – yet I cannot control the variables required to make it happen any faster than is possible. Nature allows the changing of the guard naturally, a lesson for each of us, that in the divine right moment all things come to fruition.

During the month of August, after listening to clients lament about finding themselves in the same spot once again, I started pondering the relationship of things coming up over and over in life. Those “things” being the very things that drives us all crazy, cause us anguish and have us questioning “why?”. Be it choosing the same relationship patterns over and over, making the same choices over and over and expecting a different result each time, or not standing fully in our power and allowing others to walk all over us. Why does it seem like we keep finding ourselves in the same plot with different characters? Is it something we can control or is it caused by the other characters? Is it just a normal part of who we are and we are making a bigger thing of it than it needs to be?

fork in the road, we can accept that this path is meant for us and keep going, or we can take the path less traveled and create change. Our perception, how we perceive the world and those around us to be. Our thoughts and how we express ourselves is based on this perception. Our projection, our actions and what we allow others to see of us. What we believe others are thinking and doing, or what we believe they should be thinking or doing. If we use, as an example, two people who support two different teams, each believes their team is the best. At the very least, each would like to have the other agree with their reasoning for supporting their team. All words and actions that are shared between the two are being used to try to convince the other person to their way of thinking. Our onions also contain the beliefs, perception and projection of those around us that we interact with.

I have always been a fan of “peeling another layer off the onion”, meaning, each time an issue comes up that irritates, hurts or upsets me, I process it. In doing so I gain valuable insights that I can integrate into my life. In other words I work on my “sh**”. Not always an easy thing to do. This leads me to wonder, if we keep peeling and processing, why does it still happen? The processing does help, typically the period between “onions” is longer and the “onion” is also easier to deal with. Yet, there is always an onion, and usually, more than one onion. My theory used to be that if we did not have onions to peel, then we are probably dead. I don’t think that any more. I have peeled away at quite a few onions. Processing them from every angle, even the other person’s point of view (if others were involved). Trust me, there can be a lot of processing on each onion. During my pondering, I had the thought, what if these “onion layers” I am peeling away, are meant to complete me and not something I should extinguish to nothingness?

Every choice you make and every interaction with others, brings you to the awareness of who you are. Stop berating yourself for ending up at the same place. No matter how much you ponder in hindsight, it is all speculation. Sometimes we just have to accept that our choices could have been better, take the lesson, and hold it for next time. Other times we have to accept that it is who we are, and we arrived at this point through the choices we felt ok making. Stop focusing on what is wrong. There are no right or wrong choices. Every choice is an opportunity to evoke strength, gain or share wisdom, or possibly it just felt good at that moment. If we can remember that, then we can peel the onion less and enjoy that we did the best in that moment. There is always room to shift and change the aspects of ourselves that we find offensive. And if we really find them offensive, we do shift them, even if we are afraid of the consequences?

What if these “onions” are just part of the stew? What if instead of peeling, we are meant to be savoring? Don’t get me wrong, we can always work on improving ourselves. Yet, in the moments of making the choices that lead us to the same “onion”, aren’t we consciously choosing what is best for us in each moment leading up to it?

Next time something comes up and you feel the need to examine, process, and remove another layer of the onion, see it as feedback from your soul. Look upon it as an opportunity to check in with your beliefs – on which ever level it is coming – physical, emotional, mental or spiritual.

Do we not judge ourselves, often harshly, when “onions” appear? We say things like “I should know better”, “why can’t I find a better___?”, “what did I do to deserve this?”. The self talk can be brutal. It came to me that there needs to be a different way of looking at it, a gentler way, which would be more effective than self sabotage. Do not take this to mean that we should bury our heads in the sand either, it is more like helping a child learn a task, with love, patience and compassion.

Instead of seeing it as a negative, and spending days chopping away at it, throw it into the stew. Look upon it with thanks, even the smallest shift in attitude and acceptance creates big ripples. Those ripples will have a longer lasting effect than berating yourself, getting upset, angry or feeling guilt or shame. I believe you have a better chance at healing, not repeating something, if you accept it. Acknowledge and accept that whatever situation you find yourself in, it is yours. In this way everything becomes an influence to improve upon what is.

Especially if there seems to be an onion, that no matter how much you peel, is still a jumbo walla walla! If the pattern is harming yourself or others, do seek professional help. Most of the time the patterns that cause anguish and grief, involve other people. Are we upset they are not acting in a way we want them to? Or not doing something we want them to? Are we expecting more than they can produce, or do they even know we have expectations? Or are we helping them with their onion?

The world recently lost the physical presence of a genius. Robin Williams was able to make us laugh at the absurdity of life and through his films, tease us into other worlds.

The ones who feel so different and alone need our care and attention. They, like us need to be seen and accepted without judgment in order to flourish and blossom into their full potential.

When the tributes began to pour in through media, I was reminded of the many films that I had enjoyed and had forgotten about and one of them was What Dreams May Come.

I have felt alone in my “work”. I am fortunate to have friends who accept me without judgment and I have others who value what I do. But, the truth is that even if they didn’t, I would still be doing what I do in some form or another.

Our world seems so real to us, as it was meant to. And I know that there is something more. That something more is just over there and not too far way.

My husband commented, the other day, that I spent a lot of time reading and listening to my “stuff” and maybe it wasn’t such a good idea. I looked at him and said “It is how I roll.”

About the time this movie came out, I was involved in Reiki and during a Reiki trade I heard these words as I lay on the table; “There is no up or down-we are just over here.” As I write these words I also now know that in that moment was the first time I heard The Group.

How do you roll? What do you stop yourself from doing that would contribute to the world in a way that would change everything? I promise you that it will. If you have it in you then it is a gift. It may not be received in the way that you hope but it adds energy to the planet that is invaluable.

Just over here was literally that. If I could allow myself to slip just to the side a little bit then there was what I thought was up-heaven. Down had no personal meaning for me because I have never believed in hell-ever. It has never been part of my mindset. But I now know that we create everything and perhaps there is a made up hell that people live in-just over there- until they remember.

Robin Williams rolled with who he be. He was funny and he was also a thoughtful, gentle, kind and generous man. His contribution cannot be measured.

It isn’t so hard to believe because the same thing is occurring on planet earth. There are heavens and hells being created by our own perceptions and beliefs about how life should be and it doesn’t change until we believe it can.

“Your contribution cannot be measured. You want to try and measure it. Please, please let me know how I am doing? We hear the cries and we answer with- you are doing just fine. And we know that isn’t enough for you because you want to know if you should be doing more and we say no-only be more of youwhatever that is for you-just be it!

During Robin Williams’ comedic performances, he took us far along paths of the creation of realities by perceptions. He was intuitively following the energies into the absurdity of life on planet earth. How could we not follow along and for a time laugh ourselves silly at the realities that we had created?

Allow the you that we see to bubble up and embrace all of the you that you think you are. Allow yourself to just be you. It is more than enough and has always been so.

In the movie he had died and was trying to find his beloved wife who had committed suicide in her grief over losing him. He was in heaven and she was in hell.

There are no yardsticks that you are measured against, except the ones you put there or allow others to put there. You are on planet earth at this moment in time, for the contribution that you be to everything. Yes-your contribution will be more expansive-not greater-just more expansive if you allow yourself to be more expansive.

He may have experienced a brief moment of hell in his passing until he quickly remembered that he was creating it all. In that moment of remembrance he probably also laughed at the absurdity of his own death.

The flower does not ask itself if it should be more blue in order to be more of a contribution. The flower just is. We do not require you to be more blue-we ask you to be just you-just you the being who does not hold fear or sorrow in themselves. The being who knows that it is all just fine and wonders what heaven may come?

Can you hear the echoes of that? Perhaps it went like this-DANG IT!! I didn’t have to do this-I could have created something different, something more for myself! Silly me. There are many like Robin in our world, who feel so very different and in that difference feel so alone and yet they have never been alone. It was just an illusion that traps them into the feeling of it.

You, dear ones, are creators, whether you acknowledge it or not. You can create by default or you can choose to consciously create and truly we hesitate to say by default because there is that part of you that knows exactly what you are up to and there is no default to it. From just over here, even the default mode, contributes in ways you cannot begin to imagine. It is complex and as we write this Linda feels the enormity of it as she is beginning to lack the words to convey this to you in a way that she feels she could.

We have all been there in some form or another at some time or another. We get trapped-myself included-in a creation of forgetfulness. We forget that we are the ones doing the creation and anything that sticks us can be changed. Most of do not carry that genius burden that Robin did, at least in this time and place.

And we say that is just fine-that is okay. For those of you ready to glimpse the possibilities, as you read these words, you will feel the www.nourishpublication.com

energies and your world will be changed. How it changes we cannot say-the details do not matter but the changes will unfold as you find more ease in your life knowing that it is all okay. So what will you do now? What will you choose next? Default settings are okay but conscious creating is magnificent-that is where the you expands into more and more until you will look back one day and wonder what took you so long to get where you are. You are not doing this alone. You never have been. Do not concern yourself with the details-the whys and how’s of it. It will all unfold as it will and when you choose a direction-the magic will unfold. What do you desire to see in your world? More abundance, more well being, more friends, more peace, more joy, more ease? All of that awaits you and all you have to do dear ones is follow your joy into the choices that will create the next thing for you. Let go of all the old notions that you carry with you about your worthiness-they were never yours to begin with. Let go of all the old feelings of not enough-they were never yours to begin with. Let go of the fear-it was never yours. You are enough just as you be and you are not broken-you never were. We hope that these words give you a sense of possibilities-of joyous possibilities to be chosen. That would be enough. Linda and The Group P.S. It was heartening for me to see many tourists who had been vacationing in Thailand turn their efforts to helping the Thai people after the tsunami disaster. Throughout the world, the tsunami triggered in so many the desire to help our brothers and sisters who were suffering. It made me think about how so many of us have the luxury of focusing on our own personal growth and evolution, while others struggle merely to survive. I considered the irony of how we, in the West, can work hard at our meditation and spiritual development so we can learn to be in the moment, and develop compassion, whereas in other parts of the world, in some communities, that is all there is.

If, at the beginning and end of our lives we depend upon others’ kindness, why then in the middle should we not act kindly towards others? The Dalai Lama

In our culture, where we can become distracted by all that is material, is becomes easier to imagine we are separate from others in the world. It seems somehow justifiable to have so much, when others have so little. We can feel thankful our area was not hit by a natural disaster, and go on with our lives. Yet, there is a nagging doubt. We surely would offer assistance if someone right in front of us were in need. When they are a world away, it is easy to put them out of our mind. We send in our donations, but then what more can we do? The world is a living organism, so what happens in one part of the world ‘body’, affects the whole. We all felt the pain radiating out from the parts of the world that were hard hit. It shocked our hearts open. What we can do now is to keep them open. Love, compassion, and caring shown to those in our immediate environment will add to the health of the whole.

If one is angry, critical or negative to a partner or family member, he or she is contributing to toxicity in the home environment. If one becomes hostile while driving, that adds to the level of toxicity in the driving environment. Conversely, being kind and gentle, patient, and allowing, contributes to a healthy environment. In a culture such as ours, with such a strong emphasis on the individual, we must find ways to balance that with concern and caring for the whole. Today’s children are given so much – computers, cell phones, and a variety of extracurricular activities – that, without balance, they will grow to be very self-centered adults. It would be wonderful if we incorporated, as part of every child’s learning, an hour per week of some kind of charitable activity. The tsunami, as devastating as it was, seems to have initiated a wave of compassion throughout the world, and particularly in school children. This is profoundly heartening. May it have initiated a shift in consciousness, pushing the tectonic plates of selfishness permanently underground. May the consciousness of compassion, kindness and selflessness remain with us, changing the landscape of human awareness—blessing the injured, sick, and homeless throughout the world, members of our communities here at home, and our families.

It is when we are helpless that we most rely upon the kindness of others. So, in this world there are the helpless, and the helpers. Throughout our lives we shift in and out of these roles. If we are not helpless, that is, if we are not ill or infirm, then it is for us to be the helpers. While this may mean volunteering our time to help others, it can also simply mean being kind to all whom we encounter. It can mean putting good energy out into the world. Lest that sound like some metaphorical, esoteric concept, be aware that scientists have discovered that one person’s negative, hostile mood can

www.nourishpublication.com

adversely affect the immune system of another, though some distance apart.

I remember when I was pregnant with my son, I read pre-natal books. I became quite educated on how to stay healthy while pregnant, and what to expect. By the time he was born, I knew what to expect during delivery. Once my son was born, and after a few days, they bundled him up and sent us home. Well, I had no idea what to do with my baby when we got home! I was so worried that I was going to kill him!

A is for awareness. Try to figure out where they’re coming from. What is happening with them right now that may be the underlying cause of the outburst? You may need to walk away from the confrontation in order to collect yourself, calm down and think about an appropriate response. You may need to tell your child that you are going to table this discussion for now and will get back to them. Unless there’s an emergency, there’s no reason you need to resolve the conflict right now, answer their questions, or meet their demands. Tell them you’ll think about it and get back to them later. Once you’ve had some time to calm down and think about a response, agree to meet with your child again. Ask your child how you can help them right now? By letting go of your own ego minded response, you allow yourself the opportunity to show your child grace by being there for them in their time of need.

And that brings me to parenting.....there is a lot of literature out there for new parents regarding the pregnancy but not a lot about how to raise a child consciously. Spiritual seekers are only now awakening to our true potential as parents. My son turned 14 years old in the Spring 2014 and looking back, I wished I knew about conscious parenting as he was growing up….but I always tell myself it’s never too late to help him realize and express his unique talents and gifts. What does it mean to be a conscious parent today? Well, in my mind it means allowing your child to experience his own journey, discover who he is and his purpose. As parents we can set boundaries for our children but within those boundaries, a conscious parent allows the child to experiment and explore life. They may make mistakes but they will learn from them and will help to build character. As long as it’s not detrimental to their health, give your child the room to grow into whomever they wish. That means letting them be who they want to be. If they want to get a mohawk, play with dolls or roll around in the mud, be a video game technician or a tattoo artist, it should be up to them. Try not to influence your child in who you think they should be, what they should look like, what friends they should hang out with, what career they should take, etc. They may grow up into a completely different person then what you had hoped but it’s their life and not yours.

You may want to set some ground rules for communication too. It’s a great idea for families to sit down and agree on how they will consciously communicate with one another. Once an agreement has been reached, write it out, have everyone sign it, and post it somewhere visible like the fridge. The next time there’s a conflict, remind them of the agreement and help them express their feelings in a way that is non-judgemental with a view to a win-win for everyone. This can be a very transformational experience for everyone! Conscious parenting means not criticizing your child, and making time to be with them. Don’t fill up your day with house cleaning, gardening, and whatever other chores you have and ignore them completely. Make sure to set aside lots of time to be with them. Being their friend takes your committed focus towards cultivating a close relationship. I encourage all parents to start a daily practice of asking yourself how you can grace your child’s life today. What conscious act of kindness can you do for them today? Consider it a fun challenge and one that is very rewarding as you soon will find your child reciprocating kindness back to you. Love and kindness goes round and round especially when you do it with no hidden agendas and not expecting anything back in return!

Your job is to provide them with the basics (food, clothing, shelter), nurture, support, guide, and love them unconditionally. Your job is also to be a positive role model. If your child is behaving poorly, rather than making them feel bad about themselves, model the behaviour you wish them to emulate and then give them the space to get there. In terms of communication, it can be a rocky road. Your child will go through many, many stages as they grow up into adulthood. They explore their language throughout their entire childhood. When you find yourself in conflict with your child, use a method I call “S.O.D.A.”.

Love, Light & Blessings,

Lisa

S is for stop. Don’t react to your child’s outburst. O is for observe. Observe their behaviour and listen to what they are expressing to you. D is for detach. As you feel your anger rising, emotionally detach from the conflict and breathe.

Have you ever wished that you could fly like a bird? Soar high in the sky like an eagle, dart from one place to the next in seconds like a finch, be cheeky and get away with it like a Stellar’s jay? Do you watch birds, notice those that are regularly in your path and those that visit occasionally? I love birds. I think my all-time favorite is the crow, which is a good thing since I am surrounded by them. As with all creatures of the earth, birds can show us what is going on in our lives. Seeing one that is rarely in your path can give you information about situations and events that you may be noticing for the first time, or an issue that you are pondering.

Invite the energy of the bird you have chosen to enter your field of awareness. Ask for permission to become one with the bird. Trust yourself on this. If you are ready you will receive permission. When you feel that permission, give thanks. Then allow yourself, slowly, to become one with the bird. Feel wings, feet, heart beating. Feel your head as the bird’s. Ask the bird to fly to the branch of a tree, feel the sensation of beating wings. What are you, as bird, seeing? Above? Below? What changes when the bird tilts its head? Once you and the bird are comfortable, ask it to fly….feel the muscles that launch it from the branch, feel the legs and feet tuck in, the wings move. Feel the sensation of flight, glorious, delicious flight. Where are you flying? What do you see? (Do not make the mistake of trying to control where you are going you will end up back in your body very abruptly.) The bird will know when it’s time to come back to a perch. When it does, pay attention to its energy level. After a few seconds, or when it feels appropriate, thank the bird for allowing you to join it. Gradually begin to draw away and move back into your own physical body. When you are totally back, move your toes slightly, then your knees. Flex your hands lightly. When you are ready, open your eyes.

One of the most beautiful experiences I have ever had was the gift of being hawk as it soared over a vast area. I did not take over the hawk’s body, rather I was there with it and aware of all that it was seeing. This month I am inviting you to experience be-ing bird. You may choose the bird or allow one to come to you. Do this meditation several times and experience both! As always, find a space where you feel safe and will be uninterrupted for a period of time. This can be in your home or out in nature somewhere. It helps if it is quiet but that is not a necessity. Once you are into this work you won’t notice other sounds anyway!

Give thanks once again to your bird, and to the bird energy, for the gift you have received. Before you leave your sacred space, write all that you can remember in your journal.

Make yourself comfortable and do a gentle relaxation, beginning with your feet and moving through your whole body. Spend a couple of minutes paying attention to your breath, breathing in through your crown and out through your feet. Visualize your in-breath as a gentle light. As it flows through your body allow it to pull with it the stress and tension of your day. Visualize your out-breath carrying all of that through your feet into the earth. When your out-breath is as clear as your in-breath, visualize a cord coming into your crown from the centre of the universe. Allow the cord to flow out the bottom of your feet and anchor it in centre earth. Now you can fly free and remain grounded at the same time.

I heard the birds singing sacred sounds The notes weaving together the world with morning-song As I, submerged in bed, lay deeply planning the day Making lists ‘to do’ linear and square and where in my land I worried responsibilities, caught and trapped in a concrete net, unyielding and small too. I heard the birds singing sacred sounds And I sat in the trees with them My mouth opening, my lungs throwing forth the song That lay embedded in my heart for so long, now singing for hours and no time both Emanating internal riches through all spaces within inside of me Inexplicably intertwining me into that tapestry of all living things Emitting joy, life and enigmatic connection with ‘All That Is’. I heard the birds singing sacred sounds The trees, grass, flowers, the very air throwing light-song into the world Rampant, rich lines and particles of light; precious crystalline jewel-like awareness Weaving together the tapestry of humankind, all creatures, flora, fauna, the elements, all Magical, complete; the music of the spheres singing the song of creation As I awoke to hearing the birds sing and left my bed to fly into the trees Existing there in that land of peace and joy; the life-song of us all… I heard the birds singing and I joined them finally...

Planet at a Glance

Solar cycles … New and Full Moons – it is important to step outdoors and connect to our sky, both at night dusk - dawn and during the day sunrise - sunset. When we do this we inherently connect to our genetic/collective habits and patterns of our multidimensional bodies.

Mars, watch squares, conjunctions and oppositions – 7, 13, 21, 29…Use Caution! Be careful of temper tantrums and accidents! RED LIGHT Saturn conjunctions, squares and oppositions –6, 13, 20, 27,…You may feel that life is hard work. STEP UP and MEET THE CHALLENGE!

Tracking the conditions of our solar and lunar patterns (both collectively and personally) provides insight on the regeneration of our whole being. By tracking this information you awaken to consciousness of patterns and habits that lie deeply within you. This can be easier said than done, but each time you awaken you get closer to experiencing yourself as a participating co-creator in your life.

Jupiter Squares and Oppositions –6, 12, 27 … Don’t lose sight of your budget, over-indulging or over-committing, watch that others do not take advantage Venus squares and oppositions – 1, 7, 14…Heartache/domestic and security challenges. LOVE and EMBRACE LIFE anyway!

The Full Moon – September 8th at 16 degrees Pisces 19’

Full Moon

September 8th

The full moon this month is called the Harvest Moon. Not always does the harvest moon occur in September, traditionally the full moon closest to the autumn equinox is given this name. Some years the October full moon is called the harvest moon as it is the closest to the equinox, the next time this will happen is in 2017. The September full moon is also referred to as the corn or barley moon. Being the most familiar named moon, September’s Harvest Moon refers to the time of year when crops were gathered by Native Americans. Corn, pumpkins, squash, beans, and wild rice are the chief Native American staples that were ready for gathering. It also refers to the Harvest Moon’s particularly bright appearance and early rise, which lets farmers continue harvesting into the night. Usually the full Moon rises an average of 50 minutes later each night, but for the few nights around the Harvest Moon, the Moon seems to rise at nearly the same time each night: just 25 to 30 minutes later across the U.S., and only 10 to 20 minutes later for much of Canada and Europe.

As the full moon is about releasing, and harvesting is about gathering I thought it would be fun to combine the two in a small ritual. Start off by gathering some beautiful leaves that have blown off trees, do not pick leaves off of trees or bushes as their cycle is not finished, nor should you use artificial leaves. You might be drawn to gather some twigs, pine cones, or nuts, gather whatever strikes your fancy. On the evening of the full moon, if you wish, use a sharpie to write on the leaves what you wish to release. Think about unwanted habits, emotional patterns, unachieved goals, or unspoken goodbyes. When you have finished stating what you wish to release, you can have a small fire to burn the leaves, twigs and other treasures you found and thereby releasing them to the universe for healing, or if a fire is not an option place the leaves in a pile or a basket and allow the wind to carry them away. If you have no outdoor space or it is sheltered from the wind (balcony) allow them to decompose in the basket until just before the next full moon, then crush them between your palms at a park or other outdoor space allowing them to be absorbed back to earth for healing.

new Moon The new moon is the perfect time to plant the seed of your intentions, make a wish! What do you wish to manifest in your life? The new moon represents the start of a fresh new cycle, it is void of light, receptive and full of potential. On the new moon I like to keep things simple. I light a candle, ground and center myself, then silently release what I am intending to bring into my life. Be sure to have some smaller goals included as they seem to support the manifestation of your larger desires. Spend a few moments relaxing and enjoying your candle. When you are finished blow out the candle and release your wishes onto the wind.

Week 1—Sept. 1 to 6: Azurite This week look to your Higher Self for answers to the questions that are, and have been, plaguing you. Who have you been giving your power to? Whose guidance have you been following? It is time, dear ones, to follow your intuition. That is the truest source of knowledge for each one of us. We ask and ask and look around wildly for answers. They do not come from outside, the answers come from inside. Even the ‘signs’ that we see are recognized quietly by the Self. Pay attention. Follow the blue of this stone right into your 3rd eye and beyond….set the pattern for the coming weeks. Week 2—Sept. 7 to 13: Zincite Sensuality is the key to this week. Open yourself to experiencing every situation with ALL of your senses. Taste the orange, feel the rug/wood floor/sand under your feet. Begin to experience the freedom that comes with being sensually aware. Look around you. Where do you close your senses? What situations, what thoughts, which people cause you to pull back, to shut your senses down? Hmm? Week 3—Sept. 14 to 20: Chlorite in Quartz This week is about healing on all levels. Healing relationships, healing your body, your mind, your soul. We ask that you participate in this process both by asking for healing energy and by receiving it. This requires you to look closely at where you resist. We also ask that you participate by sharing healing energy with others, whether they specifically request it or whether you send love energy to someone you know is in despair. In sending love to another we reap the full benefit of that healing energy ourselves. Week 4—Sept. 21 to 27: Septarian Nodules Do you have a sense of purpose? Do you know why you do what you do, why you act in a particular way? Do you know why you are here? Focus your attention this week on Purpose. This is not a week for “why am I?” it is a week for “why do I?” Are you perhaps too stuck on purpose? Purpose and intention—how are they related?

Week 5—Sept. 28—Sept. 30: Labradorite Being your authentic self has never been easier...or harder. This week focus on being who you truly are, no matter where you are or who you are with. Be the person you want the world to see, the person you are afraid of showing. Be brave—the rewards are enormous. We often hide behind rules and habits, sometimes we hide behind computers and games. Come out into the open. Reward yourself. It is also time to release those people in your life who refuse to be authentic. They are not able at this time to take that step. It does not make them less than, it only means it’s time for you to move on. www.nourishpublication.com

Earth Crystals

All crystals have beneficial properties but each astrological sign has crystals that are said to support those born under that sign. Often one crystal will show up under more than one sign yet offers something totally different. Just as there are many aspects to each astrological sign, each crystal has many aspects that vibrate with different aspects of our body, mind and soul and what works for one person is not necessarily true for the next.

Start to collect the crystals associated with your sign and keep them in a small bag you can carry in your pocket. Not all the crystals associated with your sign will resonate with you, as always keep the list for your

Tiger’s eye – leads Virgo away from overly structured activities and lightens the burdens of daily life. Hematite – helps Virgos to withstand hard times, great loss, career disappointments and manage extreme stress. Its metallic silver luster nourishes body and soul in times of adversity. Carnelian – promotes idealism and the awareness of social issues. It supports Virgos in their aspirations to help others and gives them the strength to do so. It reinforces their naturally steadfast character and gives them the boost they need to undertake new enterprises.

Sodalite – possesses intense power. Its deep blue color represents spiritual strength. Sodalite serves to connect the material and spiritual worlds. It will increase Virgo’s inner awareness and help it find expression in daily life.

Ametrine – this multi-colored stone consists of citrine and amethyst. It helps Virgo gain maturity and find a www.nourishpublication.com

A book by Richard Wagamese

I have just finished reading this book for the second time. I don’t often do that anymore, don’t have the time and generally don’t have the inclination, either. This book, though, is a keeper (pun intended). I got more from it the second time around, perhaps because of what I recognized from the first reading. It is written in first person, with two narrators—the old man, Keeper and the young man, Garnet. Garnet was taken from his family at the age of 3 and lived in a variety of foster homes—none of them interested in helping him to negotiate the path of a native boy living in a white world. He wasn't even sure what being native meant, having no recollection of his time with his people. This is the story of his journey back to his Ojibway roots. It is also the story of Keeper’s journey from drunken “Indyun” to respected teacher. There are so many powerful messages in these pages. Messages that apply to each and every one of us. A person could read this book and find his or her way to the centre of their heart. And once at our centre, there’s no telling what can happen! I’d love to tempt you with passages from the book, but I’m not going to. I would rather you discovered “the thing with hugs,” discovered “the path of the heart,” Wally Red Sky’s radio station and all the rest on your own. Because this is a book that’s worth it. Worth the read. Worth your time and energy to track it down (it’s available in digital format). And really? Worth putting in your bookshelf to bring out and read again. And again. Fly above past hurts and petty irritations to the warmth and love proper perspective brings

In the month of August while doing a treatment/ceremony on the beach for a friend, nine swallows joined us. I thought then that swallow would be the power animal of the month. Just to drive the inspiration home, as I was walking on the beach the other day, six swallows swooped down and around me playing. They obviously wanted to say hello again and make sure they would be joining us in this month’s Nourish. So as the swallows swoop in flying playfully around me, their message for us this month is: “Our message to you this month is about proper perspective. Proper perspective is one aspect of our medicine and the aspect you need to focus on. This is important for you to rise above your mundane and petty irritations and old worn out problems and past issues. To fly above them rise above them and move beyond them so you can gain perspective. Like us you need to fly high and swoop and dive and play. This will give you the distance required to see clearly and gain a better perspective on things. Being objective will help as White Star Eagle calls it being neutral. Objectivity/ neutrality is the name of the game dear ones. Release petty irritations, past hurt and anger, these pests you no longer need. We can help you with all of what we are speaking of if you ask us to. We will be happy to assist you. With the proper perspective come warmth, love, peace and serenity within your hearts, minds, bodies and souls.” Be warmed with the love flying above brings. The Swallows

It’s a familiar site along the highways and byways of this country – beautiful, brilliant golden flowers atop a long, leafy stem. I remember it from my childhood, along with wild raspberries and chokecherries. We moved often, so my childhood memories are from Alberta; but I see it all over Vancouver, from ocean beaches to the land that runs underneath the skytrain line. It brightens my day to see them, it brightens the landscape no matter where they take root and flourish.

cious golden colour relates to the solar plexus chakra, our power centre. Just for fun, rub a drop on your solar plexus. Pay attention to how you feel before and after. Physically, goldenrod supports the circulatory system, the urinary tract and liver function. Research done at the University of Montreal shows it has great potential to help with impotence. Dilute 1 drop of goldenrod to one drop of organic carrier oil (grape, olive, sweet almond are readily available) and apply topically over the area of concern or to the vita flex point that relates to that area.

The essential oil has a rich, sharp smell with a bit of a sour undercurrent. It is steam distilled from the leaves, stems and flowers. The botanical name is solidago Canadensis – “solidago” comes from the Latin “solide” – to make whole. There are hundreds of varieties of solidago that grow throughout the world, but the plant I am speaking of is native to Canada.

Finally, bring this oil out to play when the winter months begin to drag. Allow the sunshine that fills every drop to brighten your mood, to bring you to a feeling of well-being. Yes. For more information on Young Living Essential oils and blends, please contact me by email at lightvera1@gmail.com or go to the website: www.youngliving.org

Feeling fractured, torn, indecisive? Diffuse this oil while you are meditating with your focus on being whole and complete in all the areas of your life. Giving a workshop? This oil will be a splendid tool for the “end of the class” segment. A drop on a few cotton balls scattered about the room during the last break will provide the energetic help required to bring the session to completion. If you are giving a Reiki workshop, rub a drop between your palms before the final attunement. Completion. Wholeness. And out of that comes balance.

Please remember to use only 3rd party certified therapeutic grade essential oils.

ing runes will give strong suggestions as to the outcome.

Ingwaz is almost always a positive rune, and only in the most negative cast does it even suggest failure. It shows a successful conclusion to the problem at hand. When paired with Berkana in the cast, it usually signifies a birth, with Fehu, a new job, and if Gebo or Wunjo appears it could indicate a new love affair.

This rune marks a time of positive energies and deliverance. When it turns up in your cast, you can be assured of good fortune.

Remembering – is where we begin to undo all of the karmic knots through many lifestreams that we have become entangled in, work out whom we have temporarily given our power to or contracted to them, clear our time streams of all residual energy not yet transmuted, remember the shadow by loving it back into alignment which purifies the masculine/ feminine and inner child and we remember the higher aspects of ourself within the stars and galaxies which are all working on behalf of the Oneness of all.

workers have incredible gifts and light codes which can assist you in this releasing process but they can’t do it for you! So in this colossus of awakening year of 2014 many already awakened souls are in their final releasing phases and millions of souls whom are starting to awaken are at the beginning of their remembering process. It’s a time where negative emotions and patterns are flying are prevalent in our societies as everything is placed upon the table of the earth to release. Compassion and love is the key to assisting us all in moving more into our truth.

It’s a pretty colossal task! which takes many, many layers of releasing cycles! Where all of the lower energies need transmuting into Love. Sometimes these old energies disappear from our auric fields with ease and grace and other times they take forms of expression such as anger, tears, hysteria, shame, guilt, stress, distrust, fear! which can shake us to our very core, but it is only by total surrender of the held disturbance to express itself can we really let go of the lesson which we are remembering.

Discernment is key in everything that you do and only do it if your feeling it, don’t be afraid to buck the trend and not go along with what someone says (even if they are a spiritual teacher) if your not feeling it! Remember you are unique and are following your own path, your heart is the only one that knows the best route for your path. Your heart will at times lead you into painful situations, but if your heart has led you there then it’s the quickest way to release the blockage that needs to go in order for the good stuff to arrive.

Firstly we need to Acknowledge the energy.

Secondly Accept it and forgive yourself and open your heart.

So whatever stage you are at in this process, hold fast to your heart and do your best to expand daily into your truth. After each releasing cycle you will be reborn energetically and feel like a new person. Many rebirths will happen in this year if you keep on following your heart.

Then Allow it’s expression to release the blockage. Then Integrate it and allow love to fill the void which has been made.

Diamond light – Ryan This process has billions of outcomes dependent upon what our soul has chosen to clear and what indeed we need to remember. Sometimes it is our own baggage, sometimes ancestral/family karma that we chose to clear, sometimes it’s much more than that. We can learn many techniques to help us get through these releasing and remembering cycles which are great, but the one constant in all of them is that we have to open our hearts wider each time to love ourselves fully and unconditionally. The only healer is indeed yourself and you are the only one whom can heal. Now there are many people around you whom can assist and show support. Many light

Message from the Angels

September 2014 Greetings! The message for this month arrived on a gust of wind! The angels wanted to ensure that I knew the winds of change were bringing in some tranquil times this month. From the still quiet of the morning, they brought enough wind to set my wind chimes tinkling beautifully and the wind was like a bath for my aura, clearing out the summer ponders and setting me up for a fresh rebirth.

energy with the power of forgiveness to clear out any unbalance in your life. It is a time to listen and watch for the nuances and timing of actions. Patience, tenacity, and straightforward actions are required to accomplish your endeavors right now. Laugh, be curious, and find new ways to express yourself. The power to shift circumstances does not have to be bold, brash, or forceful, it can be a small idea or small thing that is the key to unlocking the treasure that awaits. Ride the currents of this new cycle while you get your bearing, listen carefully to your inner voice and trust that you are being guided with love. You are never alone and we promise this next cycle will be gentler if you pay attention to the many facets in your life that are guiding you. It is a matter of timing, so ensure that you are looking, living and being from a place of balance and what you seek to achieve will be yours.

A new rhythm is coming as you finish this cycle and start the next cycle of growth. Listen to your small inner voice and be prepared to shift your perceptions. Deeper meanings that have been shrouded from you are becoming clearer, as hidden qualities and patterns are revealed in beautiful synchronistic coincidences. We will be helping you to see above and below the surface of the situations you have found yourself in. From this view you will be better able to see that there are many perspectives to consider. Spend as much time outdoors as you can during the next little while, this will allow you to be grounded and better able to hear your small inner voice and our whispers. We promise this simple, delightful task will aid us as we bring harmony and balance to you on all levels, mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. We bring this on the wind and ask that you flow with it, using this blessing as healing love energy from us, harness that www.nourishpublication.com
