La fiesta de la Asunción de la Santísima Virgen María se celebra en toda la Iglesia el 15 de agosto. Esta fiesta tiene un doble objetivo: La feliz partida de María de esta vida y la asunción de su cuerpo al cielo. (Aciprensa) «En esta solemnidad de la Asunción contemplamos a María: ella nos abre a la esperanza, a un futuro lleno de alegría y nos enseña el camino para alcanzarlo: acoger en la fe a su Hijo; no perder nunca la amistad con él, sino dejarnos iluminar y guiar por su Palabra; seguirlo cada día, incluso en los momentos en que sentimos que nuestras cruces resultan pesadas. María, el arca de la alianza que está en el santuario del cielo, nos indica con claridad luminosa que estamos en camino hacia nuestra verdadera Casa, la comunión de alegría y de paz con Dios» Homilía de Benedicto XVI (2010)

Darkness and fear should not attract the attention of the soul and take over the heart!
The feast of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary is celebrated throughout the Church on August 15th. This feast has a twofold goal: Mary's happy departure from this life and the assumption of her body to heaven. (Aciprensa) I"n this solemnity of the assumption we contemplate Mary: She opens us to hope, to a future full of joy and teaches us the way to achieve it: to embrace in the faith her son; never to lose the friendship with him, but let us enlighten and guide by his word; follow him every day, even when we feel that our crosses are heavy. Mary, the Ark of the Covenant that is in the Sanctuary of Heaven, tells us with luminous clarity that we are on our way to our true House, the communion of joy and peace with God.
