Van Oord will acquire activities of Ballast Nedam Offshore Rotterdam, the Netherlands, 28 November 2014 - Van Oord has reachedagreement on the acquisition of the activities of Ballast Nedam Offshore. The acquisition consists of the assets of Ballast Nedam Offshore, the dedicated EPCI staff (Engineering, Procurement, Contracting and Installation), heavy lift installation vessel Svanen and the Westermeerwind project (144 MW). The activities will be integrated into Van Oord’s Offshore Wind Projects business unit. The acquisition will strengthen Van Oord’s leading position in the offshore wind market for north west Europe. This acquisition is part of Van Oord’s strategy to expand its Offshore Wind Projects business unit. The demand for energy of the growing world population is rising constantly. Van Oord’s OWP business unit can contribute to the objectives of the Dutch Energy Transition Agreement, which
states that in the next ten years the generation of sustainable (renewable) energy must increase from 4% to 16%. Van Oord has been involved in the construction of offshore wind projects since 2002. The company’s track record includes a.o. the following projects: Princess Amalia
(Netherlands), Belwind (Belgium), Teesside (United Kingdom), DanTysk (Denmark). Van Oord is now constructing two offshore wind farms in the Netherlands: Eneco Luchterduinen (120 MW) and Gemini (600 MW). Ballast Nedam Offshore was involved in the construction of the first Dutch offshore wind park, Egmond aan Zee (108 MW). ‘The acquisition is fully in line with our investment program for the coming years’, says CEO Pieter van Oord. ‘Earlier this year our dedicated installation vessel for offshore wind projects, Aeolus, became operational and we
ABERDEEN HARBOUR RECEIVES FUNDING FOR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT ASSESSMENT Aberdeen Harbour Board has received funding from the European Commission’s TEN-T 2013 transport infrastructure initiative, to support on-going studies into the potential expansion of the Harbour into Nigg Bay. The funding will allow the development of an Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) and the modelling of wave climate in the proposed port using a specially constructed scaled model. A total of 752,500Euros (£0.6m), 50% of the total costs of these studies, will be provided, with the balance being met by the Board. Colin Parker, Chief Executive of Aberdeen Harbour said: “The award of this funding is hugely significant. It further demonstrates recognition of this highly strategic project as one of national and international importance. It also recognises the Board’s diligence
in ensuring all the requirements of any future application, in particular the environmental considerations, are met in their entirety. We are particularly pleased that the Commission considered our application, produced with the assistance of the Aberdeen-based TEN-TaNS Project Framework, to be very ‘relevant, realistic and consistent’, as well as of very good quality. The Board is committed to seeking public funding in support of the Nigg Bay Project, and we hope that similar funding to this will be secured in support of the construction project itself”.
Amongst a number of subjects, the EIA will include individual studies into noise mapping, air quality, visual impact, socio-economic factors, hydrodynamics, fish and bird life, archaeology, traffic/ transport and water sediment/ quality. The modelling will look into wave analysis, climate and mooring conditions. Both reports are due for completion in 2015. “Since stating our intention to investigate the possibility of expansion into Nigg Bay,” continued Colin Parker, “we have entered a period of intense and thorough engagement with all key stakeholders including customers, local residents and the wider business community. This process will continue ahead of submitting any potential planning application in the future”.

Keel laying ceremony Maersk Supply Service subsea support vessel New-build Damen Offshore Carrier 8500 Reaches Key Stage Maersk Supply Service, DeepOcean UK and Damen have held the keel laying ceremony of Maersk Supply Service’s new subsea support vessel at Damen Shipyards Galati (Romenia). On Wednesday, November 12th, a key milestone was achieved in the progress of the new-building project, when the formal keel laying ceremony took place at Damen Shipyards Galati. In keeping with shipbuilding tradition, a commemorative plaque incorporating 3 special coins was welded to a corridor section of building block number 116. The ceremony was attended by the shipyard workforce attached to the project, alongside representatives from Damen, Maersk, DeepOcean and Lloyd’s Register, who certified the milestone achievement. Carsten Plougmann Andersen, CEO of Maersk Supply Service, said: “Keel laying of this vessel is the very physical evidence of Maersk Supply Service strengthening our position in the Sub Sea Support vessel market. Harkand awarded multi-million pound Southern North Sea deal with Major Operator 20th November 2014 - HARKAND has secured a multi-million pound contract with a leading independent oil and gas operator to commence work across their assets in the Southern North Sea region later this month. The deal will see Harkand mobilise their dive support vessel the Harkand Atlantis to excavate and remove existing spools and install a flexible jumper at an open water, existing subsea well location. They will also commence engineering work for production tie-back scope at the site of a new subsea well at another location. Earlier this year, Harkand delivered a successful multi-well fault-finding campaign across the Operator’s subsea assets off Humberside in the Southern North Sea. Harkand Europe managing director David Kerr said: “This contract award builds on the excellent relationship we have developed together. We are committed to supporting this important client’s needs and delivering reliable and quality services in all sectors of the North Sea.” Harkand provides offshore vessels, ROVs, diving, survey

Royal IHC successfully launches Subsea 7’s Seven Rio Royal IHC (IHC) has today successfully launched Subsea 7’s 550t pipelaying vessel, Seven Rio, at its shipyard in Krimpen aan den IJssel, The Netherlands. The naming ceremony was performed by Mrs Anelise Lara, Petrobras Executive Manager for the Libra Project. Subsea 7 selected IHC for the construction of this vessel because of its strong track record in vessel delivery and quality of service. The Seven Rio is the second of four vessels in total ordered specifically for operation in Brazilian waters. When delivered in 2016, the Seven Cruzeiro and
Seven Sun will complete the fleet of pipelaying vessels that will be working under contract for Petrobras in Brazil. Additional vessels constructed by IHC include: the Seven Oceans (a pipelaying vessel completed in 2007); the Seven
Seas (a pipelaying vessel completed in 2008); the Seven Atlantic (a dive support vessel completed in 2009); and the Seven Pacific (a pipelaying vessel completed in 2010). The Seven Waves is another pipelaying vessel, which was delivered ahead of schedule earlier this year, and is now in service with Petrobras.

Proserv secures significant contract with Hess Corporation Global-leading energy services company Proserv has secured a major contract win worth in excess of $20 million, underpinning the company’s fast-evolving international footprint and market-leading status in the subsea arena. This latest award by Hess Corporation is for the provision of a 12-well subsea control system along with associated topside and subsea interface equipment for the deepwater Stampede development, situated in the Gulf of Mexico. Work for the project will be carried out in various Proserv subsea service centres and technology hubs around the world, reinforcing the company’s strong inter-regional capability. The design and manufacture of the subsea electronics modules (SEMs) and subsea control modules (SCMs) will be carried out by Proserv’s team of subsea experts in Great Yarmouth, UK, with Proserv’s Trondheim facility in Norway providing technical
support. Final testing, servicing and the integration of equipment will be carried out at Proserv’s new dedicated controls facility in Houston, USA. The systems will be delivered to the client in a phased approach throughout 2015 and 2016 in line with key project milestones. Proserv has a long-standing relationship with Hess Corporation and over the past three years has secured work with the operator which, including this latest award, is estimated to be worth around $35 million. These activities included providing subsea controls equipment and services for Hess Corporation’s Tubular Bells field, a fast-track project that has just
announced first production, and Hess GoM brownfield projects. Commercial divers and ROV pilot technicians recently trialled the ‘Waveblade’ while working in Loch Linnhe, simulating a realistic operational environment. Waveblade, a lightweight, handheld submersible power tool, is designed to remove marine growth through vibration, without harming underlying surfaces. The tool has been developed to be used as a hand tool for divers and also as a separate tool to be fitted to the arm of an ROV. Waveblade’s patented technology delivers high frequency resonance through its oscillating head, sending multidirectional vibration through the blade into the unwanted marine growth. The wave power has been shown to remove organic growth more thoroughly in a fraction of the time without damaging surfaces compared to current methods such as scrapers and high pressure water jetting.
With access to depths of over 100 metres, The Underwater Centre is the ideal location to perform realistic and industry-specific saturation and air diver and ROV pilot technician training, as well as providing a convenient location for subsea equipment trials. The Underwater Centre, which also has a school in Tasmania, comprises an extensive pier complex including four dive stations, classrooms, workshops and decompression chambers. With accommodation and additional classrooms based at the landward end of the pier, it is set up to provide its students with the skills and experience to succeed in their new careers, and continue providing the subsea industry with the workforce that it needs.

Advice, support and expertise regarding the operational aspect of the trial was provided by the marine operations, ROV instructors, dive team and support staff from The Underwater Centre, who participated in the trail. James Hall, Chairman of Waveblade, said that the first trial at The Underwater Centre had gone exceptionally well. “The Waveblade is very different from anything else on the market. During the trial, it worked brilliantly for the divers and ROV pilots, and the results were very much what we had hoped for,” he said. “The Underwater Centre was the ideal location for such a trial; we were able to sit in the control centre and
interact with the team which was trying it out. “There were a number of challenges during the trial; however, the team at the Centre was able to help us overcome these in a very short time and the divers got to grips with the Waveblade pretty much straight away. To have this type of service was invaluable.“We are currently talking to a number of oil and gas companies about the product, and we are looking to develop the small tool for larger, heavier commercial use. The feedback we have had so far has been very positive.”Steve Ham, General Manager of The Underwater Centre, said that trialling new subsea equipment is an important part of what the Centre does. “It’s always very gratifying to be able to assist companies such as Waveblade, which are at the forefront of technology development for the oil and gas sector,” he said. “Key industry figures have spoken recently about the importance of developing new technologies more quickly, but in a cost effective way; the facilities we have on offer at the Centre help achieve this by providing an alternative to having to test offshore.” The Underwater Centre is a purpose-built subsea training and trials facility and is based on the shore of a seawater lake, Loch Linnhe, well sheltered by the surrounding mountains. The Centre’s unique location allows it to provide year-round training and testing in an open-water

The three year contract with Fairfield Energy will be led by ENGTEQ, the group’s integrity engineering business stream, that will provide services such as inspection management and data analysis with CAN’s operations division providing inspection execution and ancillary services on the pressure systems and structures in support of the asset integrity programme. In addition to domestic success, CAN has also been successful in securing scopes in North Africa. The work covers the provision of
inspections and a comprehensive range of advanced NDT inspection techniques at pressure plants on and offshore. The ultimate Reefer RoRo Ship design After the release of the Reefer RoRo Ship design in September last year, we have continued the development of the new Reefer RoRo Ship design, version II. The ship is intended for worldwide operation as a Reefer RoRo Ship in the banana trade with special emphasis on a very low box rate by very fast and efficient cargo handling in port which enables slow steaming. The Reefer RoRo Ship and its machinery have been designed in line with the highest environmental standards. In order to optimize the cargo handling on the under deck areas the bridge and engine have in version II been positioned forward of the ship, and as we found that there is a very large back haul cargo potential to Central America, we have increased the height of the four inside decks to 4.5 m to allow for general RoRo cargo. On the back haul, the ship is hence an ordinary RoRo ship. With the new refined design, the ship has a capacity of about 12,500 HC pallets – 6,800 HC pallets on cassettes inside the

MSC MAGNIFICA UNDERGOES SUCCESFUL DRYDOCKING AT DAMEN SHIPREPAIR ROTTERDAM After a very fast and successful 17-day drydocking the cruise ship MSC Magnifica left Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam (part of Damen Shiprepair & Conversion) for Hamburg on schedule to start her next cruise. Next week (December 2) another cruise vessel will arrive at Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam - the 200 m MS Saga Sapphire. In the meantime, Damen Shiprepair Vlissingen recently handled two, 167 m cruise ships, the Astor and Marco Polo.
Commenting on the MSC Magnifica project, Marc Derks, Shiprepair Rotterdam Project Manager, comments: “This was
an excellent operation, I am very proud of the team. The advance planning and preparation paid off.”
Khalil Benjelloul, Cruise Vessels Product Manager of Damen Shiprepair & Conversion, adds: “Everything went very smoothly, we managed to do this demanding job safely and on schedule, which is vitally important in the cruise industry.” Built in 2010, the MSC Magnifica is 293 m long and has a capacity for more than 2,500 passengers. She arrived at Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam on October 20 and was berthed at the yard’s largest drydock, which is 307 m in length. 800 crew on board Mr Derks stresses that this project had the added challenge that the ship’s 800-strong crew remained on board during the work. “The crew were fantastic and helped us a lot. It was a really great cooperation.” “Every time the crew members wanted to go into the city, we had to make sure all the safety checks were in place when they were getting on and off but the crew and our team worked very well together,” says Mr Benjelloul. Damen Shiprepair replaced some
47 tonnes of steel, replaced the rudders, cleaned and painted the vessel. “The rudders were a major job, we sealed off and pressurised the whole area. And fortunately we have a very large machine shop on site, which was invaluable to ensure the rudder
renewal remained on schedule. We also worked very closely with the rudder manufacturer Rolls-Royce. “This was not an easy project but a really enjoyable one,” emphasises Mr Derks.

Industry demonstrates strong demand for Oil & Gas Innovation Centre The newly established Oil & Gas Innovation Centre (OGIC) is already having an impact on accelerating new technologies to support the North Sea oil and gas Industry. At its official launch hosted by Hydro Group plc in Aberdeen last night (Monday 10 November), OGIC revealed that it now has its first approved and funded projects coming on stream and is in discussion with more than 50 companies regarding technology development opportunities. OGIC provides a single access point to the knowledge and capabilities of Scottish universities for the oil and gas industry. It can also part-fund and provide management support to projects with the potential to deliver technology solutions to the exploration, production and decommissioning challenges facing the UK Continental Shelf
(UKCS). It effectively links around 2,300 oil and gas operators and service companies to more than 450 academic staff and researchers in Scotland working in oil and gas related areas. Many of the 100 technology development projects which OGIC aims to support in its first five years will have North Sea applications and export potential. They will share the common characteristics of being
genuinely innovative and targeting solutions for real issues in the industry. OGIC’s priority areas are: improving exploration outcomes; well construction, drilling and completions; enhanced oil recovery; asset integrity and life extension; shale gas exploitation; subsea; product optimisation and decommissioning. The first OGIC project has been approved with research already underway while three projects are in the final stages of approval. OGIC is open for further business and is engaging with the SME community to progress more innovative solutions. Speaking at the launch, Fergus Ewing, Minister for Energy,

Ennsub wins major contract to build bespoke International Subsea Technology Training Academy Launched launch and recovery system for Benthic’s latest remotely operated drill unit A first-of-its-kind subsea training academy is being launched in Aberdeen today in the world-renowned subsea centre of excellence at Westhill.
Ennsub, the independent subsea design, engineering and technology company, has been awarded a contract worth £2 million by Benthic to build a newly enhanced and portable Launch and Recovery System to complement the latest addition to its seabed drilling and geotechnical drill fleet. The Launch and Recovery System (LARS4) features Active Heave Compensation and 3000m
deployment capability. It has been designed to provide Benthic and its clients with an enhanced deployment capability in deep and ultra-deepwater conditions and
harsh environments. It has been configured to allow mobilisation of Benthic’s Portable Remotely Operated Drills (PRODs) on a wider range of vessels than was previously possible. The contract includes the detailed design, manufacture and testing of a fully integrated launch and recovery solution, comprising of a high-speed electric winch with active heave compensation, bespoke deployment system and all associated power and control systems. The work will be undertaken at Ennsub’s new production facility in Teesside, UK. The equipment, which is estimated to take around eight months to design and build, will undergo detailed commissioning during Q2 2015 and will commence operations later that year. Record-breaking ship arrives in Aberdeen Harbour as public consultation over Nigg Bay development plans continues
Aberdeen Harbour has welcomed the largest vessel to have docked in the city, as its latest plans for the proposed expansion at Nigg Bay continue on public display. The MV Pacific Adventure, a general cargo and container vessel, which is 160m in length and 27m wide, now holds the record at the port with a gross tonnage of 19,128 tonnes, beating previous record holder, the diving support vessel, Skandi Arctic, by 488 tonnes. The Hartmann Project Lines vessel, under the agency of Euroline Shipping, recently arrived with a cargo of oilfield materials from Mauritania. Aberdeen Harbour chief executive Colin Parker said: “Our ability to accommodate vessels of this size is thanks to a programme of strategic engineering work, completed in 2012, which widened and deepened the navigation channel. It illustrates a trend towards bigger, more efficient vessels requiring access to Aberdeen and further reinforces the need for the development
of a second, deeper port facility at Nigg Bay, if the North East of Scotland is to remain economically competitive.” Plans for the proposed £320million development at Nigg Bay have gone on display until October 31, at Aberdeen’s Maritime Museum, as part of an ongoing Development Framework consultation process, supported by Aberdeen City Council and Scottish Enterprise. The consultation is designed to investigate the potential benefits, opportunities or challenges that the Nigg Bay development might bring to the wider area of Altens, East Tullos and Torry. The project, which the Harbour hopes will commence in 2017, is predicted to increase economic activity at the port to £2billion per annum in 20 years and potentially create approximately 7,000 jobs.

PETROBRAS ADOPTS REFLEX MARINE’S FROG-6 FOR SAFER PERSONNEL TRANSFER Reflex Marine, a global leader in safe marine transfer solutions to the offshore, marine and renewables industries, has supplied two six-person FROGs to Brazil’s national operator Petrobras. The sale follows Reflex Marine’s certification by Brazil’s Directoria de Portos e Costas (DPC) and will place Petrobras as leading the way in improving the safety of offshore operations in the region. The FROGs will come into service in North-East Brazil in early 2015. Petrobras personnel will be fully trained using the six person FROG-6 devices by Reflex Marine’s Brazilian partner Sparrows BSM in Macaé. Local operational support will also be provided, including the supply of spare parts as well as well as inspection and maintenance. Carol Richards, Reflex Marine’s sales manager for Brazil, said: “We believe that this sale is a significant step for Brazil’s offshore oil and gas industry. Petrobras will use the same system for the safe crane transfer of personnel as other operators working in deep and ultra-deep waters worldwide.
The FROG-6 has been developed to provide extensive protection from all the major risks of personnel transfer. Tests witnessed by the DPC confirmed that the product met all legal and safety requirements. The tests included:

Port medal for Kees Jan Hendriks at historic Port Guild Dinner Chairman Frans Baud presented Hendriks with the prestigious award for his achievements and involvement in the Amsterdam port area. The announcement of the decision to go ahead with construction of the new lock and the presence of Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte made the Port Guild Dinner 2014 an historic event. The Port Medal is awarded every year to an entrepreneur or administrator who has made a positive contribution to the Amsterdam port region. And this is certainly true of the managing director of C. J. Hendriks Expeditie- en Veembedrijf. “Kees Jan Hendriks does not only focus on his own business – he sees the big picture,” says Baud. “Hendriks always looks for connections between the port community and the city of Amsterdam, as well as prioritising education and development.” The evening also focused on another cause for celebration: the new sea lock. Last Wednesday, Amsterdam city council approved the investment for the accelerated construction of the enlarged lock. Recently Mammoet successfully performed the heaviest machinery lift in Malaysia, completing it two weeks before the deadline. Mammoet was contracted by Nippon Express to lift a 1,210 ton DEEP AGR Absorber as part of the construction of a Petrochemical plant by Petronas in Sarawak, Malaysia. Mammoet was selected for the job because of its engineering expertise and
extensive experience with similar components.The absorber, a plant component which is used to purify gas, is the largest and the heaviest component that has ever been lifted in the history of Sarawak. The lifting operation was a ‘top and tail’ operation.
The top section of the 55 meter long absorber was lifted using specialized lifting equipment called a gantry system, while the other end of the absorber was being driven into position with an auxiliary crane. It took roughly 5 hours to complete the lift. Petronas/JGC is planning to complete the construction of the petrochemical plant in a

The contracts, which are worth a total of more than $30 million, will see Ceona providing vessels from its first-class fleet together with its installation expertise on the ENI NAE (Nigerian Agip Exploration Limited) ABO12 well completion, as well as supporting MPL on the Sea Eagle FPSO on behalf of SPDC (Shell Petroleum Development Company). Engineering has already started on the ABO12 project with the full scope of work involving the installation of flexibles, umbilicals
and a PLEM suction pile system. Offshore work is planned for February 2015.

Mammoet had a leading role in advising the customer in this process and assuring every detail of the system was clear to everyone involved. The project was scheduled to take three
months to execute. Through careful planning and ‘first-time-right’ execution, the project was finished safely two weeks ahead of schedule.

Its flagship vessel, the Ceona Amazon, is a multi-functional vessel capable of operating in multiple pipelay (rigid/flexible pipe and umbilicals) and operational mode (heavy subsea construction). At 199m long, it is equipped for heavy lifting with two 400t deepwater cranes, and has capacity to carry more than 8,500t of rigid pipe. The Ceona Amazon is due to enter service early 2015.
She will be christened on the 3rd of December 2014. The Polar Onyx is a high-capacity new-built flexible pipelay and construction vessel designed to the highest standard for dynamic positioning, DP3 (Operations+), and equipped with a 250t AHC offshore crane and a 275t vertical lay system. Like the Ceona Amazon, it is capable of installing pipeline and umbilicals to water depths of 3,000m. She is chartered for 5 years from GC Rieber Shipping, with option for 5 additional years. The Normand Pacific, built in 2010, is a DP3 offshore construction vessel equipped with a 200t knuckle boom crane. She has been chartered by Ceona for one year and fitted with a 75t vertical lay tower, a reel drive system and two new highspecification work class ROVs for deepwater flexible pipelay and subsea construction in deep and ultradeep waters.

CMM has secured contracts with Petrobras to charter five newbuild Fast Oil Spill Response Vessels using a new innovative and highly fuel-efficient Sea Axe design by Damen Shipyards Group, allowing the vessel to reach offshore oil platforms in half the time it takes traditional Oil Spill
Response Vessels. The vessels have unrivalled speed, stability and operability in deep seas. Three vessels will start operating by end of December 2015 and two by end of June 2016. The four-year firm contract has a value of $130 million and is mutually extendable for a further four-year
term. All of the vessels are being built by Damen, and will have state-of-the-art guidance and propulsion systems with built-in redundancies. Christophe Vancauwenbergh CMM’s CEO said: “This is our second Brazil project and we look forward to further building and developing our partnership with Petrobras. CMM’s track record in managing and executing projects of this nature, working closely with the client, was key to our success in securing this contract.”

North Sea industry needs a cultural shift to maximise UKCS potential Report says new regulator, Government and industry need to adapt to “new reality” Companies operating in the North Sea require a cultural shift to make the most of the its potential, according to a new report from Deloitte, the business advisory firm. The report, which gauges the oil and gas industry’s reaction to Sir Ian Wood’s Maximising Recovery Review, calls on the new regulator – the Oil and Gas Authority (OGA), the Government and companies operating in the North Sea to adapt to a new reality in the basin. Overall, the research found respondents: • Supported a strong new regulator which can demonstrate focus and influence; • Wanted HM Treasury to outline a stable, simple and internationally competitive fiscal regime which reflects the diverse profile of the UK Continental Shelf (UKCS); • Thought closer collaboration between companies would help drive efficiency and cut costs related to extraction, while tax incentives and possibly different ownership models could encourage the sharing of infrastructure. Derek Henderson, senior partner in Deloitte’s Aberdeen office, said: “The UK’s oil and gas industry is going through a serious period of transition; its three major stakeholder groups need to change significantly and adapt quickly. There must be more collaboration both between and within the groups, with companies working together to make extraction more economically viable and increased coordination between departments at Whitehall.” The report also found that drilling activity on the UKCS needs to double to more than 90 wells per year over the next two decades to make the most of the estimated $1.3 trillion1 worth of oil and gas which potentially remains. Henderson commented: “Only about a third of the known recoverable resources in the UKCS
are left. The ‘easy oil’ days are gone and we need a fiscal regime that is more reflective of the current state of the basin. Companies are looking for a tax system which is simple to navigate, stable over the longer-term, incentivises investment and is competitive by international standards. Making the right changes could mean billions of pounds of difference to the UKCS, and simultaneously increase the taxable income as more oil and gas is recovered.” Crucial to the changes will be the new regulator “with teeth”; the OGA, announced following the Wood Review. Businesses emphasised the need for the regulator to have the ability to encourage, incentivise, or enforce new ways of working.Geoff Gibbons, oil and gas consulting partner at Deloitte, said: “The industry is very supportive of the new regulator and the Wood Review as a whole. However, those leading the OGA must have the powers required to lead companies and the UK Government in the right direction and make sure the utmost is done to maximise the resources left in the North Sea. “Nevertheless, industry cannot afford to sit and wait for the regulator to drive change. Respondents were quick to point out that many of the measures required have been known for some time and there is strong scepticism that real change will be delivered. “If the industry can achieve all of the steps outlined by the Wood Review in time, this shift could help make the most of the remaining resource on the UKCS through maximising volumes, economic extraction and eventually effective decommissioning.”

Survivex Strengthens Board with Appointment of Key Director Leading oil and gas training provider Survivex has made a further appointment at board level as the company transitions to a period of international growth and development. Chris Hardie, who joined the company as Financial Controller, was promoted to Finance Director in September. Mr Hardie will be responsible for providing specialist support and guidance to the Board in all aspects of Company finance and accounting, as well as managing the day to day activities of the finance team.
