MARK

ANTHONY THE AFTERLIFE FREQUENCY

Interview By Sandra Sedgbeer

OMTIMES

The Afterlife Frequency presents groundbreaking scientific concepts and new terminology in an easy to understand and engaging manner. The term “electromagnetic soul” (EMS) describes what we really are, pure consciousness which is eternal electromagnetic energy. Mark Anthony , Psychich Lawyer

Stories of spirit communication, neardeath experiences, and deathbed visions have always been a part of the human experience. Given that there have been so many books and TV programs focused on these topics of late, one might imagine such experiences to now be an accepted fact. But still, some find it hard to believe in an afterlife, let alone that there could be communicating with dead people. If you're among them, read on. Mark Anthony has unparalleled credentials and experience in the paranormal world. The stories and science he shares are difficult to ignore.

Mark Anthony, also known as the Psychic Lawyer, is a world-renowned fourthgeneration science-based, evidential, psychic medium who communicates with spirits. A legal analyst, he is a frequent speaker at international conferences, universities, and radio and TV. He's also the author of the groundbreaking and critically acclaimed spiritual best-sellers Evidence of Eternity, Never Letting Go and The Afterlife Frequency, The Scientific Proof of Spiritual Contact, and How That Awareness Will Change Your Life, which bridges the divide between faith and science with a fascinating afterlife exploration that combines physics, neuroscience, and riveting true stories.

Mark Anthony: I've so many fond memories of England and Oxford, of course, but such cherished memories of the Arthur Findlay College. Sandie Sedgbeer: And certainly, a deep history of communication with the other side in this country.

Mark Anthony: You know, that's true. Britain has always been at the forefront of the understanding of spirit communication. Indeed, spiritualism developed very heavily in the mid-19th century. Queen Victoria was a big proponent of spirit communication, particularly after her beloved Prince Albert died and, you know, Sandie—and I'm sure you're aware of this. Still, there are rumors that she met a teenage psychic, Robert James Lees, who could facilitate contact between her and Prince Albert. Rumor has it that she had him moved into Buckingham Palace for a period. I discovered in my research that first lady Mary Todd Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln's widow, used to keep in touch with Queen Victoria.

YROTS ERUTAEF

Sandie Sedgbeer: Mark, you're an Oxford-educated trial attorney, licensed to practice before the United States Supreme Court. You studied mediumship in England at the prestigious Arthur Findlay College for the Advancement of Psychic Science, which incidentally is just a stone's throw from where I'm sitting right now.

Mary Todd Lincoln was a massive proponent of psychic mediums and consulted with them often, particularly after her son, Willie Todd Lincoln, died. Then, of course, after her husband, Abraham Lincoln, was assassinated. So, Great Britain's always been on the cutting edge and the forefront of psychic science. Based on my research, I also believe that Britain was the first country to develop a covert psychic warfare division in the 1930s, so there's a lot of amusing stuff with Great Britain and spirit communication. Sandie Sedgbeer: I wonder whether that is because we have a history that goes way back to the Druids and even before them. So, it's kind of in our DNA, so to speak—these ancient stories, belief systems, and knowledge. Mark Anthony: Yeah, I think that that's true. I mean, spirituality is everywhere. But I've spent such a great deal of time in Britain; I've spent a lot of time in Wales, Scotland, and, and of course, England, and there's just something there. Sandie Sedgbeer: Mark, you were born into a family where psychic mediumship abilities have spanned generations, so it's in your DNA too. Mark Anthony: It is. My father's family was very waspy: White Anglo-Saxon Protestants.

They were from Pennsylvania, and they were of the Baptist faith. His grandfather founded a Baptist church in the small town he grew up in. My dad was in the US Navy, and he was a Navy Seal. He was at a USO dance after he got out of the military, and he spotted this foxy dame. It's how he used to talk, and of course, that was my mother. He thought she was maybe 30 years old because she looks so sophisticated. My mother worked at a high-end department store in the fashion department, and mom said, well, yeah, I dressed to the nines because I got the employee discount. Her family had immigrated from Italy. Her grandmother, my greatgrandmother, Giovanna, was actually referenced in a four-hour special that PBS did about the Italian Americans. They had pictures of Giovanna and referenced her psychic abilities. So, I've tracked these back to the 1890s, and I'm assuming it goes further. So, my parents connected, and after a few dates, my mother said, 'there's something that I need to tell you about me. I can see spirits.' And my dad goes, 'Oh dear Lord. I do too. ' Sandie Sedgbeer: I'm curious to know why, with such a well-developed, multidimensional right-brained approach to life, you chose to become a lawyer.

OMTIMES.COM

Mark Anthony: I'm laughing because not a day goes by that I don't reflect on that. Initially, I wanted to go into the clergy, which is not unusual for a medium–– you know, we're drawn to the spiritual––but I felt there were too many rules and regulations. So, I decided to go into law and talk about jumping out of the frying pan and into the fire regarding rules and regulations!

1

I liked the law because I liked the logical approach; I enjoy public speaking and the ability to help people with complex problems. I think that a lot of our lives are predestined. So, I believe that I was supposed to go through that incredibly left-brained profession because those are transferable skills. When I went public as a medium, these skills proved invaluable. That's why I take an evidential approach to mediumship. That's why I went to Arthur Findlay College because I admire British evidential mediumship. Being a lawyer, you need evidence, but you also help people. And then, being a medium, you're helping people by facilitating communication with their loved ones in Spirit. But, still, you have to have credibility by bringing forth pieces of information that can be objectively verified. So, in other words, evidence. Sandie Sedgbeer: Being a psychic and a medium, you probably get asked a lot if that has ever interfered with your job as a lawyer, dealing with somebody perhaps who was telling a different story to what you knew to be true? Mark Anthony: I was a prosecuting attorney for the state of Florida, then I shifted over to the criminal defense, and then my practice grew not just to encompass criminal work but also civil trial work involving personal injury and accident cases.

OMTIMES.COM

And at the risk of being facetious, it's almost a foregone conclusion, particularly in the criminal arena, that people are going to lie to you. My job is not to sit in judgment of somebody, but rather to protect their rights so they may tell me one thing in the police reports and eyewitness statements tell me another. Sandie Sedgbeer: So, let's talk about your latest book, The Afterlife Frequency. Unlike many books in this genre, it delves very deeply into the science behind these profound experiences, which are all forms of what you term interdimensional communication. So, explain to us how this communication happens.

Mark Anthony: I wrote my first book, Never Letting Go, as a guide to help people get through grief and how spirits can help you do that. After that, I wrote Evidence of Eternity because I wanted to explain things more clearly. Still, I wanted to go even further with The Afterlife frequency. I believe that everything has a logical explanation, including the afterlife, God's existence, and spirit communication. And so that is what motivated me to take all of those disciplines and then do the more profound research into quantum physics because that's where it all can be explained. Everything on the quantum level is also affecting us constantly.

OMTIMES.COM

Everybody is capable of having a psychic or mediumistic experience. However, not everybody is a medium. The thing is, we all have the same basic physiology. We have a pineal gland in our brain, and we have the solar plexus at the bottom of the rib cage just above the pit of the stomach. And these are the two psychic receptor areas. The pineal gland is a pea-sized Lima bean-sized gland about four inches behind the center of the forehead, the proverbial third eye. So, for those who engage in yoga, the location of the chakras aligns with the areas of our endocrine glands. The British discovered that within the pineal gland are calcite and magnetite crystals. Ergo, there is an electromagnetic field. The first radios were a piece of quartz crystal with low levels of electricity running through it, so essentially, we have a radio station in our heads. Then in our solar plexus, some doctors have referred to this as the second brain because of the solar plexus, which is the yellow chakra, the chakra associated most closely with the pancreas. So, the endocrine gland is the second most complex bundle of nerves and ganglia in the body outside of the cerebral cortex. So that's where you get emotional impressions. So, Sandie, let me ask you this: do you ever get a feeling in your stomach when something isn't quite right?

that's because your solar plexus is sensitive to those vibrations. And so, one of the first skills in developing spiritual situational awareness is trusting your intuition and your feelings. So, we have the apparatus in the solar plexus to pick up on emotional and physical sensations. And then, the pineal gland picks up on the auditory and the visual impulses transmitted to us through the quantum field by spirits. So, think of everyone you love being connected to you by a three-dimensional spider web. Let's take the spider out of it, okay? But how the spider detects something when it hits its web is through vibration. So, if something hits the web, there's a vibration that goes along that web to the spider. This is a concept that I call frequency beacons. And so energetically, we know that everything is composed of molecules made of atoms, made of smaller particles—electrons, protons, and neutrons, which are made of subatomic particles known as Quanta, which is pure electromagnetic energy. So, everything in existence at the most basic level is electromagnetic energy that vibrates. So, let's say that you have lost a loved one. That person didn't die. It's merely that the electromagnetic fields in their brain, which I've termed the electromagnetic Soul, is pure electromagnetic energy. That is eternal consciousness.

I know that the parapsychology department at the University of Arizona is currently working on technology that they're calling the soul phone. But in the meantime, we are the technology; we're the biotechnology.

MAGAZIOCTOBER 2021

Sandie Sedgbeer: So, if it's all about electromagnetics, why do we not have some technology that would allow us to communicate rather than using ourselves—you know, like a phone?

Mark Anthony: I'm so glad you asked that question. Thomas Edison was working on that. He called it the spirit phone, and in the 1920s, he was interviewed in a couple of different magazines. He believed that it was possible to develop a device sensitive enough to communicate with discarnate intelligence—in other words, a spirit. But unfortunately, he died before he was able to do that.

OMTIMES

So that electromagnetic energy leaves the body and goes to a higher frequency. In other words, we live in AM radio spirits live in FM., Okay? So, we want to talk to them, and through a frequency beacon, you start grieving very heavily, and you're sending that vibration. A spirit will pick up on it. And that's why many people say, 'You know, since, since my mother died, I feel her around me.' That's because you're grieving. But spirits can emit waves of frequency too. Let's say you're driving in your car and suddenly you feel compelled to turn on the radio. There's that song that tugs your heartstrings, or maybe you smell a familiar scent–– a cologne or a pipe smoke or something, and there's no source for it. It's like, my God, that smells like my grandfather's pipe––What's happening is that spirits can emit these waves or frequency to you as well. When you start being sensitive to these signs, you'll realize that they're communicating with us all the time.

And some people say, well, why don't you hook somebody up to an EEG, an electroencephalogram, or a QEEG, a quantitative electroencephalogram, and tune into their electromagnetic Soul and find out about the afterlife frequency. Well, first off, the EEG and QEEG are excellent diagnostic tools for injuries. Still, they're not designed to communicate with the afterlife, nor are they sensitive enough to detect the electromagnetic Soul. Some frequencies and harmonics exist, and this is the theory beyond our current level of technology to communicate with. That being said, there are technological devices used by paranormal investigators such as tri meters, K2 meters, spirit boxes, infrared detectors, which have been quite possibly detecting the presence of spirits and even picking up their voices. I've been to several paranormal investigations and have seen evidence that would indicate there's a spirit communicating. So, the technology is there. It's still rudimentary, but I firmly believe that within the 21st century, humans will have developed technology sensitive enough to tune into and directly communicate with the other side. Sandie Sedgbeer: Your book is full of things that have not been shared, certainly in my experience before. One of which is that spirits are never alone and tend to come forth in tandem as a collective. Why is that?

Mark Anthony: It's the nature of energy. Think of your Soul as a drop of water––and both physics and faith are on the same page here. People of faith believe that we have a soul, and that Soul preexists the body, comes into the body, and then leaves it when we physically die. The laws of physics teach us that energy is neither created nor destroyed, only transferred from one form to another. So, when we physically die, the drop of water, our electromagnetic Soul, plunges into the eternal sea of consciousness and then is energetically interconnected with an infinite number of souls. The thing is, we are too. We are energetically interconnected with everything. Everything on the subatomic level is electromagnetic energy. We're all quantum entangled with each other. It's just that with spirits because they're not dealing with the lower, slower vibration of our material world dimension. They are free of that and can interact more rapidly. Buddhism believes that consciousness is an ongoing stream. The Hindus believe in the concept of the Atman, which is the Soul. Christians and Muslims believe in the existence of the Soul before the body and then continuing after the body. But in my research, I've seen that when spirits come forward, they're never alone, but that drop of water maintains individuality. So, while they're part of the collective consciousness, when you die, you take you with you. And so that's why during a spirit communication session, it's not unusual for many people to come through.

OMTIMES.COM

Sandie Sedgbeer: You talk about the light of the electromagnetic Soul. Reading that in your book, I was reminded of the documentary about George Harrison, 'Living in a Material World.' Towards the end of the documentary, George Harrison's wife, Olivia, said that if you had been in the room with George when he died, you wouldn't have needed lights in that room. So, she was saying that there was a burst of light as his Soul left his body.

Mark Anthony: Thank you for referencing George Harrison. I think he was always one of my favorite celebrities because of his spirituality and humble nature. And what Olivia Harrison was describing is what is known as a shared death experience. And this is the new frontier in neardeath experience research.

Many people have seen this happen when they're close to a loved one who's dying. They may start feeling the presence of other spirits around, and when the person transitions, they will see a surge of light—the room gets lighter, brighter. They may hear beautiful music; they may even see a transparent replica of their loved one emerging from the person's body. So, if you'll indulge me just for a moment Sandie, last winter, Paul McCartney put out his album, 'McCartney Three.' And when he was interviewed, the media were making fun of him because he said that years ago, George Harrison, who loved gardening, gave him a fir tree. So, Paul planted the tree in his yard.

And he said that it's lovely, and it's gotten quite extensive over the years. And Paul said,' Every time I'm near that tree, I feel the Spirit of George with me.' So, of course, the media said, Paul McCartney thinks George Harrison's in a tree in his yard, and Paul talks to trees. So, they're making fun of him, but I believe what Paul McCartney described is a frequency beacon. So yeah, George gave him this tree. George loved gardening. It's a living entity, and all things, even inanimate objects, have an electromagnetic field. So, when Paul sees the tree, he begins to think about George. So, he is emitting electromagnetic frequency out of his brain. The Spirit of joy picks up on that frequency beacon. It draws him to Paul, ergo Paul feels George's Spirit. And so, frequency beacons happen to everyone. I mean, how often do people say that everywhere I go, I look, and I see a coin and that a coin makes me think of my brother who died. Well, spirits can direct our attention to things—maybe to a coin or a dragonfly or a particular type of bird or a tree in Paul McCartney's case.

O M T I M E S M A G AZ IN E

Sandie Sedgbeer: Spirit communicates in so many ways., one of them being the sleep space. I have a question about that because I've had several experiences after somebody died, not necessarily immediately after, sometimes years after where that person shows up in my dream. And it's a lucid dream because, at some point, I say, hang on, you're supposed to be dead. They never speak. They're just there, but they never talk. Why would that be?

Mark Anthony: Well, it varies because I've talked to hundreds, if not thousands of people who have reported similar occurrences, and they do report that the person speaks to them. But there's a difference between visitation and a dream. Dreams have a surrealistic quality, and it's nonsensical. But, still, a visitation has a beginning, a middle, and an end, and as you described, Sandie, it feels real. So, you know what that person's conveying to you, although they don't speak in an auditory fashion. The reason for that is because spirits communicate by electromagnetic frequency. We are communicating by that now, but we're using sound waves to hit the microphone. Then the sound wave energy gets converted into electrical energy is converted into radio wave energy. Microwave energy from a system of satellites, then back into radio wave energy at the collection point. It comes out of a speaker as mechanical energy, which is sound wave energy. All that happens with the speed of light. Spirits don't have to worry about all that. They're just transferring that feeling, that emotion directly to you in the sleep state is one of the most popular,

O M T I M ES M A G A Z I N E

I guess would be the word, popular forms of how spirits choose to communicate with us because what happens is we have five different brainwaves: gamma, beta alpha, theta, and delta. Gammas like super high functioning—that's when you're working on a calculus problem, and beta is the state we're in now. That's the normal function we do every day at work. But then, when we slip into alpha, which is as you begin to be very relaxed, the meditative state, and then theta, which is deep in the dream state. So, it's on the alpha-theta border that brainwave frequency is conducive to and relaxed enough to be receptive to a spirit's frequency transmission. And so that's why spirits tend to communicate with us in our dreams. Also, people tend to be more accepting of a spiritual experience in a dream. I dreamt of my mother, and it felt real as opposed to you walking into the office, pour yourself a cup of coffee, go, Hey, my aunt, Betty, her Spirit's standing right next to you. You see, say that people will start rolling their eyes and thinking you're bonkers at work. Still, when the spirit communication comes to you in the dream state, people tend to be much more accepting, and that's a good thing. Sandie Sedgbeer: What is happening when somebody is dying, and maybe they've had Alzheimer's for a long time, and yet suddenly they have moments of complete lucidity and speak to their loved ones as if they had no problem with their memory.

Mark Anthony: This is a fascinating phenomenon, which has been documented for thousands of years, and in more recent decades, it's been termed as terminal lucidity. What that means is somebody who is dying. Or in a mentally non-responsive state, it could be Alzheimer's, brain damage, brain cancer, or all types of severe stroke, damage from a stroke. That is what is confounding neuroscientists. Neuroscience is the study of the human brain. One thing the neuroscientists all agree on is that right before you die, you don't suddenly grow a billion new neurons, but what people have been documenting, including scientists, is right before somebody passes. They're mentally in a nonresponsive and irreversible brain-damaged state, suddenly regain consciousness. I've observed this phenomenon myself, and I've also communicated with people who were essentially brain dead, yet their body was still alive. So, their Spirit is perfectly capable of communicating.

What this proves that the brain does not create consciousness. It merely hosted how a computer hard drive hosts the data and the programs on the hard drive. So, when somebody is dying, their electromagnetic Soul is beginning to emerge. When leaving, it creates a spike in activity with that person that is not currently explainable through medical science. Sandie Sedgbeer: You developed a fourstep process to help people become more aware of the presence of spirits and spot the signals and messages. Tell us a bit of that. Mark Anthony: I was writing The Afterlife Frequency. I was trying to figure out how do I explain to people who aren't mediums how to recognize and understand messages from spirits? I had the dreaded writer's block, so I decided to go for a walk on the beach because I live near the ocean. I got up, left my house, and all of a sudden, did an about-face. I was being guided in another direction towards this bicycle path. So, I'm walking down the path, and I see these two objects shining, a nickel and a penny—a 5 cent piece and a 1 cent piece. And I hear my mother's voice saying, 'If their heads are down, don't touch it. That's bad luck.' I laugh because my mother's family was Italian, and they had superstition for everything. Then I hear my father's voice saying, 'It's money, grab it.' So, I pick them up, and as I'm looking at them, I realize I just heard my parents' voices. I'm holding six cents, the sixth sense in my hands.

I'm getting cold, chills and tingles through my body. So, I know, okay, their spirits are here, and I'm picking upon them. Then I see an image of my father standing in the ocean. He was not just a Navy seal, but a scuba diver and a diving and swimming instructor, and he's holding a blue raft. He always had this blue raft that was made out of this canvas, and I go raft. And all of a sudden, it hit me: Recognize. Accept. Feel. Trust. I go. 'That's what he means. That's what people have to do. Recognize —I saw the coins on the ground and heard my parents' voices, so I recognize that was a sign for them. I immediately Accepted it as real. I Felt the message—and this is where people go wrong on the Feel part; they start overanalyzing, overthinking, and negating it. You've got to feel it and then Trust the message, so within about 10 seconds, I not only saw these coins, but also heard my parents, saw the image of my father, the raft, and then he hit me with recognize, accept, feel, and trust. And so, I took that and ran back and immediately wrote this down before it might fade away. I developed the RAFT Technique, which applies to mediums and non-mediums. The RAFT Technique is not just for recognizing signs with spirits. If you're around somebody that's having a deathbed vision in the process of dying; they’re. seeing spirits... or if you get caught up in that deathbed vision, in what I call a shared death experience, or if somebody has a near-death experience, using the RAFT Technique can help you recognize, accept, feel, trust, understand and apply everything that you have learned from that experience.

Sandie Sedgbeer: What else would you like this book to do? Mark Anthony: To bring comfort. If I have a message for the world, it's a five-point message. First, it's that the divine power we call God exists. That heaven, the afterlife, eternal life exists. That our soul is an immortal living spirit. That we can communicate with souls. And fifth, that we will be reunited with our loved ones in the light when it is our appointed time to leave the material world. Sandie Sedgbeer: So, what do you know about the future of where this is going? You spoke earlier about to earlier about us having the soul phone in this century. What else do you think might happen? Mark Anthony: I think that the more we understand vibration and frequency on a cellular level, there will be advances in spirit communication. We will have devices that can cure illnesses by raising vibrational frequency and realigning damaged energy centers. I think that the barriers between faith and science will begin to erode. As a result, we'll have a more enlightened and positive view not only of the afterlife but of how to put our brains together to cure the ills of this planet. Sandie Sedgbeer: Well, yeah. And we need that information because it's only when we understand the connection between the Soul and the limitless nature of this that we'll stop beating on one another and creating war.

OMTIMES.COM

Mark Anthony: I've been very honored throughout my life. I've met Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, John Glenn, Mike Foreman, and even Bill Nelson, a politician they sent into space on one of the shuttles. I had the opportunity to talk to all of them, but I spoke to John Glenn the longest. I asked him, 'So, what was it like when you looked down at Earth?' He said, 'Mark, it was so beautiful. You see this beautiful blue, like a giant drop of water, and you can see all the teeming life on it. And then you realize it's so fragile and it's the only place we have to live. Let me tell you that resonated with me.

THE AFTERLIFE

by Mark Anthony

FREQUENCY The Afterlife Frequency: The Scientific Proof of Spiritual Contact and How that Awareness Will Change Your Life, is a riveting adventure that reads like a juicy novel taking the reader around the globe and from the cosmic to the subatomic, even into the human soul itself.

Through uplifting, emotionally gripping and occasionally humorous stories, The Afterlife Frequency reveals how the human experience encompasses spirit communication, whether through a medium, near-death experience, deathbed vision or visitation from spirits of loved ones.

"THE AFTERLIFE FREQUENCY BREATHES NEW LIFE INTO UNDERSTANDING THE AFTERLIFE".

Often dismissed as fantasy or feared as paranormal and supernatural, these phenomena are real. They’re all forms of “interdimensional communication” which occurs when the energetic frequency of the soul aligns with the Afterlife Frequency. My experience with spirit communication began on day one. I was born a medium and chose to become a lawyer. The media dubbed me “The Psychic Lawyer.” Between the stereotypes that lawyers are vampires and psychics prance through flowery fields waving Ouija boards, I’ve been called quite a few things. When you’re a lawyer who sees dead people you better have a sense of humor. My father was a US Navy SEAL and NASA Engineer and my mother was a commercial illustrator. My parents, my two older siblings, and I were just the typical American family—sort of. When I was three and half years old I started talking to my invisible friends. While it’s not unusual for children to have invisible friends, my parents could see them too because they were mediums and these “friends” were spirits.

"Psychic Ability is on My DNA"

Needless to say, this scared the daylights out of me, but Dad had good reasons for keeping our family’s psychic gifts secret. Years before I was born, his sister Marjorie, an extremely gifted psychic medium had a premonition one day that her husband would be killed at work. She begged him to stay home. He reluctantly agreed. Later that day, the machine shop where he worked was crushed when a crane accidentally dropped thousands of pounds of steel beams upon it killing everyone in it. Had he been there, he too may have perished. Instead of being grateful her husband, a religious zealot, believed Marjorie’s abilities were evil. He had her forcibly committed to a mental institution as a schizophrenic. She was repeatedly subjected to electroshock therapy for six months which damaged her brain to the point she was never again able to perceive spirits.

This tragic episode made my parents determined to protect me from being ridiculed—or worse. Secret or not my family was still psychic. What might seem weird in other families was our normal. I might come home from school and Mom would say “I saw a spirit today.” “That’s cool, Mom. Do we have any peanut butter?” “Yes dear, it’s over there.”

On the flip side of the karmic coin being a psychic kid with psychic parents had its downside. While all parents have a “6th Sense” connection to their children, my parents’ connection to me was on psychic steroids. No matter how stealth I thought I was I just couldn’t seem to get away with anything other teenage boys did. Technically we were Catholic, but my family respected other faiths and beliefs. I always felt drawn to a spiritual path and considered joining the clergy but didn’t because all the rules and regulations. I chose to be a lawyer—talk about jumping out of restrictive frying pan and into the regulatory fire!

I became a successful attorney and head of a law firm. Everything in my life was going well until the day my mother died. When you’re a medium there’s a misconception that because I can communicate with spirits, grief doesn’t hurt me as much. Nothing is further from the truth.

Two weeks after Mom’s passing, I was driving back to my law office from court. A wave of grief struck, and I pulled into a strip mall parking lot to regain my composure. I took a deep breath and closed my eyes. Immediately a flash of light exploded in my mind. Instinctively I turned and looked to my right at the passenger’s seat and for an instant saw the silhouette of my mother’s profile in silver white light. Her voice filled my mind, “Mark, you have been given the gift of Mediumship so that you would not be crushed by grief, but now you must help those who are suffering with their grief.” I was overwhelmed. While spiritual experiences may last only seconds the full impact of the message transmitted can take years to understand. “Spiritual Synchronicity” one of the concepts I developed for The Afterlife Frequency explains how there are no coincidences because everything in our lives happens for a reason.

We are in control of our choices, although spirits may illuminate the better choice leading to the more positive path. This spirit intervention isn’t about controlling us but rather providing guidance and insight. To paraphrase Albert Einstein, spiritual synchronicity may be thought of as God’s way of remaining anonymous. After years of reflection, I realize the message presented by Mom’s spirit wasn’t about my life in the short term—it was a metaphysical road map for my life. There was a reason I was born a medium yet chose to become an attorney. The truth is that everyone has a purpose in life. Everyone matters; every life counts and we all have our parts to play while living in the material world. My contribution involves melding the rightbrained spiritual insights of a medium with the leftbrained analytical discipline of an attorney while maintaining balance through a sense of humor. This resulted in The Afterlife Frequency.

Endorsed by the world’s top survival of consciousness and near-death experience scientists, The Afterlife Frequency presents groundbreaking scientific concepts and new terminology in an easy-tounderstand and engaging manner. The term “electromagnetic soul” (EMS) describes how our soul is pure energy that never dies— it merely ascends to the higher vibration of the Afterlife Frequency. The Afterlife Frequency benefits readers in many ways. It teaches you how to work with a medium, and introduces my four-step RAFT Technique which empowers anyone to Recognize spirit contact, Accept it as real, Feel it without fear, and Trust the message. RAFT will not just change your life—it can save your life! My book also offers healing and inspiration for those coping with grief, PTSD, and Survivor’s guilt.

The Afterlife Frequency demonstrates how spirits intervene to guide and protect their loved ones in this world, as it presents scientific proof spirit communication isn’t paranormal or supernatural, but a normal part of human nature and a powerful instrument of healing and love. Personal Growth & Development

We grow as individuals as we face challenges and overcome life’s obstacles. This section is dedicated to helping you chart your course.

As we emerge from the ‘'complete quarantine’ quarantine' of Covid and move toward more connection with one another, many of us are carrying grief from the last year. Perhaps you lost a loved one, a friend, parent, child from Covid. Maybe you experienced a different loss, a more ambiguous loss such as the loss of a pet, a parent to dementia, a loss of fertility,

or someone you loved succumbed to an addiction. Many of us grieve lost threshold moments such as a graduations, wedding ceremonies, and the celebration of lives and memorials. All of us grieve for what we never had and needed. When we don’t don't tend to our losses, they return over and over again.

Like a stray cat that leaves for a few days and then returns to be fed, grief insists that we remember and tend it. Grief insists that we remember and tend it like a stray cat that leaves for a few days and then returns to be fed. How do we hold what for many of us may experience as unbearable feelings we just want to push away, distract ourselves, and not feel the searing pain of our loss? OMTIMES.COM

If we think of grief as an expression of our love that has no place to go, we may tend to it with more care, cherish it, and carry it with us, allowing it to find a place in our hearts. But how do we do that? These are several practices that several practices not only help us build our capacity and resilience to carry grief but also help us build our capacity and resilience to carry grief and connect us more deeply to ourselves and others. 1. Begin with Kindness Loss shocks us all, coming with an enormity that oftentimes frequently we just can't take in. We may even be expecting a death, yet, when it happens, we can’t seem to make sense of it. Our beloved partner, parent, child, a pet was here, and now they are gone. We stand in rooms that are empty and silent.

OMTIMES.COM

Amidst the pain and chaos that grief ushers in, it’s kindness, isn’t it? Isn't it, that feels like a reliable anchor, perhaps the only reliable anchor? Imagine if you had a close friend who was grieving and struggling, and you simply reminded them to be kind to themselves. This is good medicine for the soul. Could we treat ourselves in the same way we’d be with a close friend or a child we loved who is hurting? 2. Cultivate a Meditation Practice It’s one thing to say, be kind to yourself. It’s another thing to embody it! One of the practices that may help us be kinder to ourselves is a practice called Metta Meditation or Lovingkindness meditation. Some people call it “tender friend.” ." Its roots are in ancient traditions of Buddhism and Hinduism.

May I welcome all my feelings as I grieve.

May I allow grief to soften and strengthen my heart.

May I hold my sorrow with tenderness and compassion

When our life has been upended by loss and grief, we tend to look ahead and catastrophize, not yet able to imagine our life going forward from now on. Or we might look back and ruminate on what was, wishing life was still the way it was. Neither But, unfortunately, neither of these thoughts will help us navigate grief. In this lovingkindness practice, we tether our breath to affirmative phrases and send ourself ourselves blessings. As you sit with your grief, try repeating the following phrases. silently to yourself. Notice how it feels inside you as you say these words to yourself silently: May I welcome all my feelings as I grieve. May I allow grief to soften and strengthen my heart. May I hold my sorrow with tenderness and compassion.

Can you imagine sitting for a few minutes and making this a daily habit? It will help you stay present in your life.

3. Take a Love Pause One thing this pandemic has taught us is that everything is impermanent. Perhaps in moments of pain and uncertainty, we can remember to pause and breathe with tender mindfulness. We can say, “I love you” to a spouse or partner, our children or parents, our grandchildren or grandparents, to dear friends, and even to strangers. 4. Cultivate Gratitude There will be times when we feel that nothing is going right in our life. At those moments, consider cultivating a gratitude practice. Starting where you are, begin by pausing for 20 – 30 seconds, looking around, and noticing what is right in your life right now.

Being persistent with the good in your life helps us rewire a pattern in our brain of being habituated to the negative. But more importantly, it helps us be with and carry our grief. Taking this pause will increase our resilience to hold our sorrow. OMTIMES.COM

We can begin a gratitude practice by keeping a journal. Note three things, large and small, that you appreciate before bed – things that made your day go better. This practice cultivates a spirit of contentment for what is rather than longing for what we don’t have. Our written gratitude Gratitude might be as simple as being grateful a friend called to check in on us, having clean water to drink, or waking up in a state of good health. 5. Find a Virtual or real community We all need other people never more than when we're overwhelmed by grief. We need each other for many things: to stay sane, to feel a sense of belonging, to take a break, to fix a leaking sink, to watch a movie together, to talk about the unspeakable events that have happened, to sing and to cry. We need to check in. We need to be in the presence of others who can listen and remind us that everything changes, and someday, we'll feel a little better.

Yet, when you're the person grieving and isolating, it's not always easy to reach out when you're feeling overwhelmed with grief. So how can we balance the need and desire to take time out alone, heal, and then find ways to connect with other people?

OMTIMES.COM

We may take a tentative step to reach out and discover that friends who were attentive during the first few weeks after death have returned to their own lives. What can be a lifeline, then?

Some people seek out a “grief friend,” a person at church or work, or a neighbor who understands that grief doesn’t go away and who is willing to sit and listen as we cry, rage, laugh, and tell and retell our story. Maybe you join a support group and discover that others in the room are expressing their grief in the same way you are – sleeping in their loved one's clothes, talking to the deceased, or struggling to give away their clothes. You may be more comfortable seeking online resources. The following links offer many resources for finding community on the internet. Almost all religious and spiritual communities hold services online as well and can also be a community resource : Grieving.com GriefHealingDiscussionGroups.com Modern Loss.com 6. Learn a new activity When our minds are engaged in learning or trying something new, it’s hard to grieve.

It not only distracts us, but it offers us new that can be a container for our grief. One person I know started training horses at a farm near her. Another took up dog walking at her local shelter. Some have tried learning a new art form – drawing from the natural world, melting glass, working with clay, photographing one beautiful thing each day, learning to play the ukulele, and taking dancing lessons. When we do something new, the repetitive activity of the unique expression is a distraction, and it helps to lessen our anxiety and sorrow. 7. Restore in the Natural world Most of us live in a paradox. While we have an instinct to bond and affiliate with other life forms, our work lives tie us to computers, and hand-held devices keep us indoors for much of the day.

But, by nature, we are instinctively drawn to the natural world like a moth is drawn to light. When we experience loss, when we are grieving, it is more important than ever to find ways back to the (proverbial or metaphorical) garden, to spend time in the healing power of nature. Outside, our bodies and minds can rest, just taking in images of leaves falling from trees, clouds moving through the sky, and hearing the bird sounds surrounding us.

Researchers Rachel and Steven Kaplan write about and describe restorative environments as outdoor places that are accessible, quiet, and relatively small such as your yard or a pocket park in the city. And if there is no safe outdoor space where you live, if you are confined indoors, even in a hospital bed, you can rest in nature just looking out a window to a patch of sky or gazing at a plant indoors. It will leave you feeling less anxious and depressed. We don’t don't have to leave behind those we miss, love, and grieve. But we do go on, and we make new relationships and forge new memories. Over time grief will move from searing pain to a dull ache, visiting us with less intensity, frequency, and duration. Let’s Let's remember that as we invite grief in as a companion, we are carrying the love for what has been lost. Making room for grief is making room for more love.

WHY ARE YOU SO COMFORTABLE CONSUMING IRRESPONSIBLY? By Alberto Adler

Although we have used the responsibility for a possible traffic accident as an example for the consumption awareness process (on our previous article from the Series: Conscious Consumer); there is a crucial difference between the situations. .While a serious traffic accident is a situation whose immediate consequences are apparent and easily associated with its causing event, the consequences of irresponsible consumption habits are diluted among millions of small daily gestures of millions of people (billions, even).

While unintentionally crossing three lanes of a highway can cause a horrible accident, with noise and interdiction of traffic, our daily consumption habits silently wreak havoc but with a tremendous everlasting, and devastating effect. The problem, therefore, is one of perception. In the example of traffic accidents, we see the consequences – which helps to be preventive. We never see dolphins being killed so that we have tuna in our sandwich, or we see soil contamination when we dispose of used batteries without proper care. As the consequences are "invisible," we tend to adopt more careless postures. And, to complement this careless negligence of not seeing the consequences comes the question that it is easy to shift the blame and assign culpability to large corporations. It is especially true when we identify them generically it's easier to buy a car from a particular maker when, while we criticize fossil fuel engine pollution, we don't designate their manufacturers by names like Volkswagen or Ford. Instead, we speak of an abstract entity called the "Automobile Industry" (a title that would include Tesla,

which only makes cars with electric motors). Thus, we dissociate ourselves from the problem with the false impression that we are not involved. But if the fishing company passes a net that destroys the bottom of the sea and we continue to buy their fish (seafood products), ultimately, we are, at the very least, their accomplices. And it is not enough to buy the fish.

Take the case of Mitsubishi. You may not even buy the fish they catch with environmentally aggressive methods (as shown in the documentary Seaspiracy). But, if you buy the branded pens or a car, you continue to support them, indirectly. Large corporations have already learned that we consumers tend to accuse large conglomerates of villainy as a way to indulge ourselves. Their support comes, in part, from dichotomous reasoning - in which the culprit is the one who commits what is seen as an atrocity, but whoever buys the product of this reprehensible and condemned method does not. The conglomerates themselves avoid involving end consumers in discussions about liability. Instead, to protect their brands, they call for resources such as:

• Fantasy brands: brands that exist only to bear the brunt of questionable activities, sparing the leading brands of large corporations. • Green Washing: a communicational makeup that crosses with ecologically correct behaviors that are the opposite. • "Smother" operations that consist of, roughly speaking, applying various methods (ranging from investments, or divestments, in media and press and public relations services, to more drastic resources) to silence the media's mouth on uncomfortable subjects. • Disinformation: covers several subterfuges, from "organic product" or "Dolphin Free" stamps, whose sources are the self-declaration of the producers; pseudoscientific

(or scientific studies produced with bias and other purposeful method flaws); statements from experts and celebrities who can sell information; fake news, etc. All these strategies have the ultimate goal of making the end consumer feel less guilty or even free of any blame and continue to consume their products. That's why I call these features "Comfort Communications." The consumer, feeling comfortable with himself, since the information he receives gives him the tranquility of a clear conscience, maintains his consumption habits, and starts to consider the warnings to the contrary as part of some hysteria or political conspiracy. Much of the battle for conscious consumption takes place in the realm of communications, but few people even notice this. Another important element worth mentioning is the difference in frequency of the actions. That is what makes the difference between making sure that thoughtless, untimely, or just deliberately careless attitudes can harm both yourself, and others can be the first step toward more measured attitudes. Yes, but not necessarily! There are even those who say, "Damn, I caused a serious accident, but luckily I'm fine. What luck. The bad luck of those who came after me!".

The Ultimate

Group Adventure This is an example of a selfish and selfreference mentality. Although we hardly find anyone who admits this attitude towards causing serious traffic accidents, it is easy to find those who have this same attitude towards producing and consuming products and services. Fishing companies are irreversibly damaging in the short and medium-term the seas from which they derive their livelihood. But, as the horizon of exhaustion of the oceans is at least three decades, they are leaving the consequences to those who follow, just like the subject of the hypothetical accident I mentioned a few paragraphs ago. The same can be said of the logging companies that operate mainly in Brazil and Asia. They argue that developed countries decimated their forests and now do not want to let emerging countries do the same. As a result, they uproot trees – which would take decades to be replaced – at a much higher rate than reforestation would be able to replace.

OMTIMES

The big companies are not evil alone. It is always a chain of consumption that ends with individuals as the ultimate culprits. Let's look at the producers of these plastics used in single-use packaging, for instance. They supply the industries with consumer products that are utilized by the people who go to the supermarket. But, of course, these same people could also take reusable bags to the supermarket but find the highly polluting plastic bags in the stores easy and more comfortable.

Once again, the bill is for those who are yet to come, our future generations. But this deforestation only exists because some people buy furniture and build a house using these woods as floors or other parts.

The list is long with people who dispose of electronic batteries in the standard waste. Whoever throws used cooking oil out down the kitchen drain pollutes thousands of liters of water with each discarded drop. The worst thing is that you are hardly contributing to these serious accidents, whose victims may even be those you love, and wish well. And even if you don't have children or grandchildren, you don't have to know the drivers of the crashed cars to feel guilty about the consequences of the accident you caused. We could all be better to ourselves. Admittedly, we could all do more – to set aside special time to reassess our physical, emotional, and spiritual needs, to be good to ourselves, check in with our bodies, and to ultimately find moments of restore. But let’s face it, just talking about this is making us tired. Most of us are spread thin. Between our careers, our families, our friends, a health routine, errands – and the daily bombarding messages we receive to do better, to be more – and that everything will change if we just try this new self-care routine. Enter, Rebellious Rituals. What if the changes you’re not succeeding at aren’t your fault? Perhaps those ones just aren’t designed for you? Author and business coach Rebecca Hulse is a self-confessed rebel, who recently released the coffee table book, Rebellious Rituals to give us all a break from the routines, failed attempts at self-care, and to let us start where we’re at. This book is for those who can’t stick to a routine. Within these pages readers will find an opportunity to be met where they’re at. This book is about celebrating inconsistency – not consistency.
