ALL ABOUT RABBITS At the RSPCA Manchester & Salford Branch we have been specialising in rabbit rescue, rehabilitation and rehoming since 2008. During that time we have seen so much progress in rabbit care standards. These days people understand rabbits need a diet that is made up of primarily hay/grass, that they shouldn't be fed muesli mix or carrots and that rabbits benefit from the company of their own kind. What many people don’t realise is the best combo for harmonious relations is a neutered male and neutered female. However, ‘bunny bonding’ is rarely plain sailing and it takes several weeks of gradual introductions to stand the best chance of a happy mix.

Adopting from a rescue centre for £50 is the most cost effective way of acquiring a pet rabbit and the adoption fee will usually include the cost of vaccination and microchipping too, which could ultimately save you up to £300 per rabbit. So the next time you are thinking of getting a rabbit, think rescue!
