ODL member Tony Smith is organising a visit to the Amersham Fairground Organ Museum open day and is inviting other ODL members to join him at this peer led activity. Tony says “On this visit the seven organs will be demonstrated, playing well known and lesser known tunes. Toilet facilities available: In Marylebone station pub, on the train, and at the museum. Returning to central London: Trains from Amersham back to Marylebone run every half hour. Our March walk will explore its causes, its progress and the remarkable aftermath, which shaped the City of London as it is today. We shall explore hidden corners, uncover some remarkable secrets and look at fire fighting from then up to the present day. Naturally Sir Christopher Wren and Robert Hook will feature but so will the no less important contribution of the men and women who have given their lives keeping us safe from fire. Researcher and comic’s artist Sina Shamsavari will take you on a journey through the history of gay comics and erotic illustrations. Including erotic illustrated narratives that circulated in gay male communities before World War II, the years leading up to the Stonewall revolts, the underground gay scene. And a whole range of themes – from politics to relationships, friendships and sex. Sexual experiences and erotic fantasies have often played a part in these representations, Page 2

Join walk leader Gerry for a pleasant walk along the Thames path in Richmondupon-Thames, Surrey. From Richmond Station, we will walk to Richmond Bridge, and along the river to Petersham village and its meadows. We can view the church of St Peter and its grounds. We pass close by Ham House to get a good view of this fine Stuart mansion and its lovely garden. Our route is mainly on the flat with few climbs or descents. There are many cafes along the route.
