Pride in London, book now! Summer Masquerade Party and Fundraiser We’re excited to announce that the ODL fundraiser this year will be at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern - the historic London LGBT+ venue - which we hope to transform into a daring masquerade party on Thursday the 18th of July, 7 until late. This is a key date in our year to celebrate with supporters, including yourselves, and fundraise generously to support the services we provide. The tickets are normally £30 each, but we have a special member’s discount that can be claimed for the first 40 tickets, meaning you can attend for just £10. This includes entry, one free drink, canapes and access to some awesome entertainment. Once the first 40 tickets have gone, don’t worry you can still buy a ticket at £20 early bird rate until the 15th of June.

It’s nearly Pride in London time! We have less tickets available for this year than we did last year, but the booking hotline is almost open! Tickets will be available from the end of May via Eventbrite or calling the office. We will be at Pride in London again this year. We have limited wristbands available so, please, don’t delay in booking your place. There will again be a brilliant Breakfast Club pre-Pride brunch, opportunity to join the march or take a seat on the bus (priority will be given to those who have a disability or health issue that might mean they can’t walk long distances), as well as an after-Pride tea at St Anne’s in Soho. It’s going to be a fun, friendly and high-spirited day - and we hope to see many of you there! Full timings and addresses to come later in June.

Book here:

Please, let us know if you need any extra support on the day - there are some options on the Eventbrite, but feel free to call us at the office to discuss what we might be able to support you with. Saturday 6 July with times tbc

As an added incentive, here are some of the comments they received after the last session: 'As a complete novice to football I had no idea what to expect. I was surprised at how much fun we had and how positive and encouraging the coaches were! I will come back for the next event.' 'I enjoyed the session sooo much more than I expected to. I had been quite anxious about going but that anxiety instantly disappeared when the coaches got us started. The coaches were amazing: so supportive and they made everything easy to understand.' 'I genuinely felt that I learnt some skills - I felt challenged but definitely not overwhelmed, so much fun. It was great meeting a group of women by whom I felt supported; the coaches were absolutely fantastic.' 'It was a very friendly environment, a great workout and lots of fun.'

One–to–one IT sessions Wednesday weekly Tavis House Problem or question about your laptop, mobile phone or tablet? Are you having any problems getting to grips with your new technology? Is your laptop, mobile phone or tablet not doing what you want it to? ODL is running weekly one– to–one sessions with our IT expert Alan. Each session will last an hour and can be booked by getting in touch with ODL. 1pm – 5pm

It’s June … and we’re launching our annual member survey! As you know, ODL membership is free. One of the reasons is that we get funding from a range of charitable trusts … and they want to know what difference their support is making to you. If we want to improve our chances of getting further funding then we need to have your input. And we want to know what difference being a member of ODL has on your life and if we could improve the way we do things and what we offer. This is an opportunity for you to tell us what we are getting right and how we can continue improving our services. We have reduced the number of questions and are also only asking questions about your experience of ODL. We’d really appreciate it if you could take 10 minutes to complete the survey online here or by completing your paper copy if you receive printed listings – and encourage all your ODL friends to do the same! We’ll also be engaging with members on a one–to–one basis at activities and events in June with the support of staff and volunteers to support you completing the questionnaire. This year the Annual Members Event will happen in October – and we will use part of this event to feedback comments from the survey and one–to–ones. Details will be in the September Listings. Summer Party Fundraiser I am really excited that our Summer Party is being hosted by the Royal Vauxhall Tavern this year on Thursday the 18th July, 7 until late. This is our big annual fundraiser – and this year the theme is a Masquerade Party. Once the first 40 tickets have gone, don’t worry, you can still buy a ticket at £20 early bird rate until the 15th June. Book online and select the member early bird tickets, or call the office and we can assist you over the phone https://masqueradepartyodl.eventbrite.co.uk Kew and NBC Cares Day It was lovely spending time with some of you at NBC Cares Day event in May and the trip to Kew Gardens – and fantastic seeing so many people enjoying themselves! We have another month of fabulous activities and events in June including Kew on the 11th June – and of course we are gearing up for Pride in London, Black Pride, Trans Pride and Bi Pride (more info can be found on the next page: about Prides). I am really pleased that there will be an ODL presence at all of these important events this year – and hope you are able to join in some of the activities.

Annual Member Survey Now Open!

Alice Wallace

You can complete the annual member survey online from now until the end of June. The online form can be found here on Survey Monkey. It is only 14 questions and should take no longer than 10 minutes.
