Tuesday 10th Men’s Group Walk The roof garden of the City of London's second tallest building, the Walkie Talkie, is now open to the public. You have to book online but it's free. Sadly these visits are already booked up for months, but that won't stop us walking around and exploring this fascinating neighbourhood. Some of you will already have met its companions like The Monument, London Bridge and Leadenhall Market but there are many other surprises in store. Prepare to be wowed by Wren Churches, a scale model of London Bridge which has become a TV celebrity, the astonishing carved mice and breathtaking views of the river. This annual exhibition provides an opportunity to view new work by emerging artists at a point when their work is still developing, during their three year postgraduate course at the RA Schools, Britain’s first art school. The exhibition includes painting, performance, photography, sculpture, site-specific installation and video. Invitation for ‘Walking & Herstory’ Contributors We invite contributors to lead the monthly women’s group ‘Walking & Herstory’. In winter we try to find indoor events or galleries of interest. In summer we try to find places where people who want to walk, amble or stroll may do so. We go to places that have free admission. We try to include a sociable strand to each walk so try to find a nice café at some point on the walk. We would welcome much more members’ participation in finding things of interest, and organising that particular outing. Please contact Kate by email Kate.Hancock@ageukcamden. org.uk Women’s Walking & Herstory LGBT history month: Sutton House, 2-4 Homerton High StreetHackney, London E9 6JQ This marks the first time for Hackney’s Sutton House to celebrate LGBT History Month, a grass roots initiative which has celebrated the role of LGBT communities in history for the past fourteen years.The installation, called MasterMistress: Passion, Desire and Ambiguities in Shakespeare’s Sonnets, takes place in the house’s Tudor rooms and features four speakers cunningly masked by artist

People, who identify as LGBT, read the contemporary readings of Shakespeare’s 17th century Fair Youth Sonnets.The installation aims to question desire and ambiguities of gender and identities. Chaired by Elsa Richardson, an historian based in Queen Mary’s Centre for the History of Emotions, with the aim of encouraging a dialogue between different generations of feminist thinkers, activists and supporters. This month’s film is Now Voyager: Boston heiress Charlotte Vale (Bette Davis) is a neurotic mess, largely because of her domineering mother (Gladys Cooper). But after a stint in a sanatorium where she receives the attention of Dr. Jasquith (Claude Rains), Charlotte comes out of her shell and elects to go on a cruise. Aboard ship she meets Jerry (Paul Henreid) and falls in love, despite his being married. They enjoy a brief tryst in Rio before returning to the States, where Charlotte struggles to forget him and find happiness.
