President’s Message

The election for the 2024 Osceola County Association of REALTORS® Officers and Directors officially opens on Monday, August 7 at 8 AM. Additional qualified candidates for the offices to be filled may be placed in nomination by 5:00 pm on Monday, July 31, 2023. Ballots will be accepted until midnight on Friday, August 18, 2023. The official slate will be announced and emailed on July 17, 2023.

All members will receive an email from SimplyVoting with instructions on how to cast your vote online via the SimplyVoting ballot form using your Stellar MLS credentials. Members can also log into their Stellar MLS account and look for the SimplyVoting icon in the “Association Resources” module on the bottom right.

The results of the election will be captured by the Association’s attorney on Friday , August 18 to ensure accuracy, accountability, and the integrity of the process. The results will be announced on Tuesday, August 22 on the Association’s website in addition to a direct email to members. The 2024 Officers and Directors will be presented at the Annual Membership Meeting and Awards & Installation Banquet in December.

This is the LAST CALL to get involved with the Florida Realtors® Clean Up Florida Waters effort! Have you signed up to volunteer for OSCAR’s Clean Up Florida Waters Day on July 5, 2023? We need volunteers for our waterway clean-up projects for both Kissimmee and St. Cloud. There’s still time, but don’t delay in letting us know that you want to join us for this very important cause.

Thank you again to all of our Meals on Wheels volunteers last month and throughout 2023! The Seniors served by this program appreciate you as well as the Osceola Council on Aging and OSCAR.

Speaking of 2023, it’s hard to believe we have passed the mid-point of the year already! So far this year, our committee has enjoyed serving the community and meeting with some of the people who lead the charge every day to help others through their charitable organizations. Want to learn more?

As we make our way through the summer, I’d like to extend my warmest thanks to each of you who participated in our International Food and Wine Festival in May. The event was a success and highlighted the spirit of cultural diversity within our community.

Another noteworthy event was the recent participation of our Association at ‘A Place in the Sun,’ the largest overseas property exhibition in Europe. Our CEO, Twis Lizasuain, and 2023 President, Imran Mohamed, represented our Association with great dignity, and their participation has further strengthened Osceola County’s stature in the global real estate market.
