1-Introduct ion This English project is about “Las Meninas of Canido”. They are an adaption from Diego Velazquez ´s, but in Ferrol they are painted on the walls.
2-Velázquez biography Spanish painter Diego Velázquez was born circa June 6, 1599, in Seville, Spain. Although his early paintings were religiousthemed, he became renowned for his realistic, complex portraits as a member of King Philip IV's court. In his later years, the Spanish master produced a renowned portrait of Pope Innocent X and the famed "Las Meninas." He died on August 6, 1660, in Madrid.
3-meninas Las Meninas is an oil painting by the Spanish painter Diego Velázquez. The painting hangs in the Museo del Prado in Madrid, the capital of Spain. It was painted in 1656. The word “Menina” means “ladyinwaiting” or “Maid of Honour”, i.e. a girl who serves in a royal court. There are a lot of details in the painting, and more has been written about it than about almost any other Western painting because it is quite complicated.
4-Editorial 4.a Andrea A great visit To visit ``Las Meninas de Canido´´was fantastic because it is beautiful to see the neighbourhood painted with those paintings. In my opinion all the cities all over the world should have these paintings in their neighbourhoods.
This is my favourite menina because it is very colourful and I like its shape. Inside it,there is a fantasy world.
4.b sergio Canido the wonderful place The school trip was fantastic. I like the Eduardo Hermida initiative , the initiative about to paint the walls of the Canido neighbourhood ,before Canido was an abandoned neighbourhood now it is very famous because ´´Las Meninas de Canido´´´. The Meninas were painted by painters of all over the world. Eduardo Hermida is a wonderful person, he had the initiative in 2008 This is my favourite Menina because i like the way its author used the walls f or paint this Menina
4.c ivan This is my favorite because its theme is about the rock that is my favorite music style It also seems to me that it is very well drawn and with very pretty colours I liked this initiative and I enjoyed a lot (looking at) visiting “Las Meninas” in Canido. I also liked to meet the artist Eduardo Hermida because I think that he is a great artist
5. News article ``Meninas de Canido´´Trip Iván Barro, Sergio Hernández y Andrea On monday 24th may, the students from the second ESO in IES de fene to visited the old neighbourhood of canido, the reason of visit was to know “las meninas de canido”, to make a project expose in English class. the idea from Eduardo Hermida was so revolutionary that cities like madrid and countries like France and Ucrania copied the idea so it was a great event in ferrol town every year in Septembre a event is organiced to go on decorating the neighbourhood.
6.Conclusion We three enjoyed this project. The trip and the speech was very entertaining. We enjoyed a lot working in group in the class.
