INTREDUCTION WOMMEN MAPS CONCLUSION BIBLIOGRAPHY
INTRODUCTION -This project is about the women in science. -We are doing this project because years ago some people didn´t value the scientific discoveries of most women. -We started the project individually and after that we did this project in groups: 1. 2. 3. 4. 5.
First individually we searched for some information about scientist women (birth, death, field of study, nationality) Second with that information we made sentences. Then we had to look for an anecdote and a quote from each woman and add it. After we had to find a map of each continent and place every woman in the country that belonged. And finally we started this project.
Ada Lovelace(1815-1852) She was a english mathematician. anecdote:the 19th century mathematician and computer programming pioneer ada lovelace is celebrated every year at the start of october on ada lovelace day. quote:your best and wisest refuge from all troubles is in your science
Marie Curie(1867-1934) She was a polish mathematican. Anecdotes:Growing up without a lot of money wasa often a trouble for the curties. Both Marie and her sister,Bronya whished to get a good education that would send them far in life, but, without the money, this took some Major Eefort.Received two Nobel prizes for her work in radioactivity. Quotes:”Have no fear of perfection;you´ll never reach it”.“Life does not deserve to worry so much”.
Elsa Neumann(1872-1902) She was a German physics. Anecdote:Elsa Neumann was aware of her unique and privileged position and defended higher education forma women un Prussia. Alice Ball (1892-1916) She was a American chemist. Anecdotes:Alice Ball was a chemist. She elaborated an effective extract of oil, so that the patients could recover their sight. Quotes:
Rachel Carson (1907-1964) She was a american scientist. Anecdote:she had cancer;and she wrote four books Quote:the more clearly we can focus our atention on the wonders and realites of universeabout us,the less taste we shall have for destruction
Sara Borrell (1917-1999) She was Spanish pharmacist and biochemist. Anecdote:She wanted to study Agronomy Engineering, she could not do it because the academy did not admit her for being a woman. I just studied pharmacy at the University of Madrid. Quotes:
Katherine Johnson(1918) She was a english mathematician Anecdote:this former NASA employee is a living testimony to everything good that STEM can bring. Quote:”there has been a lifeguard shortage for a while,so it’s so good that young people are into it”
Rosalind Franklin(1920-1958) She was a american scientist. anecdote:her work was pivotal in discovering DNA’S structure, but she never received credit for it during her lifetime quote:”science, for me,gives a partial explanation for life”
Jocelyn Bell Burnell(1943) She is a British astrophysicist. Anecdotes:In 1982 she was named researcher at the Edinburgh Observatory, where she dedicated herself to study galaxies with the help of the satellite. Quotes: “Science is a quest for undertanding

Anecdote:She studied physics and became the second woman to graduate from the University of Vienna in 1905,when it was not at all common for women to enter higher cycles.Although few professors accepted her presence, she travelled to Berlin and there she continued attending classes until a teacher welcomed her as her assistant. Quote:I will have nothing to do whith a bomb!
Montse Calleja(1973) She is a Spanish scientist. Anecdotes:In 2018 she won the prize for ¨women to follow¨ and part of the ¨science quo selection¨. Quotes:
Sonia Villapol Salgado(1977) She is a Spanish neurologist. Anecdotes:In 2007 she defended her thesis on the mechanisms of cell death and the brain, obtaining a grade of ¨cum laude¨. Quotes: ¨We live in a world that receives information immediately, a much more sensitive and at the same time harder, a world of many reactions.

Conclusion -We came to the conclusion that they should give equal importance to the work of women as well as those of the hobres. Because at the end of the day we are all equal and a work-discovery, has the same merit if it is done by a man or by a woman. -This project has helped us to learn about many women and their lives, things that everyone deberiasmos to learn. Because it shows that there are people in this world who do not give up and that women can do exactly the same as the man but are not given the same importance
