1. Introduction We are going to analyze the photo nยบ19 where there are some children and they are surprised. Each child has a different expression and it is a very natural photo. We chose this photo because for us it is very incredible. 2. Analysis of the photograph a. Observation Skills i.
Action
In this picture there are a lot of surprised children. Some children are scared and other children are surprised for something they are seeing. The subjects are three little girls and two little boys. In the background there are a lot of children. In the foreground there is something they are looking at and the camera of the photographer. We think before the picture was taken it happened something that the children had never seen before. We think after the photo was taken the photographer showed the photo to the children.
ii.
Theme
The theme is the little children that it are in the age of wars. The photographer, maybe, thought that the expression of the children was fun.

Characters
The age of the children probably could be four or five years old, because they are little. They come from America because the first launch of a rocket was there at the end of the 60s. The girls are wearing wool hats and wool sweaters and the boys are wearing caps and suits. They are very elegant. The children are standing. Some children are covering up their mouths and ears, and the rest have a expression of victory but they are happy. Their expression is scary, surprised and happy. They could be thinking that the rocket is very incredible and some of them are scary.
iv.
The story behind the photograph
We think that the story is the children could be watching the launch of a rocket, because they are surprised and covering up their ears. When they were in the playground of the school they hear a very loudly sound and they look at and they see a very big rocket that it was taking off. And some children were scared and others were happy.
b. Technical Knowledge i.
Photographer’s point of view
We think the photographer is in front of the children and crouching, because he wants to show the importance of the children’s expression ii.
Lighting
It is a natural lighting, it comes from the sun and it is dark It is hard and contrastly and it is clear. The lighting draws our attention to the children’s expression. The lighting creates sad mood.

Framing & cropping
The faces of the five children are included in the picture framing, in the foreground, and in the background, we can see other children and a little piece of sky. Outside of the frame we imagine there are more children. The photographer chose this frame because he wanted to show the children’s expression. The cropping stands out the fist of a child and the photographer cuts the body of the children because it is not important. 3. Alfred Eisenstaedt ’s biography Alfred Eisenstaedt was born on December 6, 1898 in Poland and he died on August 23, 1995 in New York. He was an important photographer because in 1929 he took a photo of Adolf Hitler and Benito Mussolini. Normally, he took photos of politic themes, famous artists and sociality events. He was a photographer of the magazine "Life", and he
is
considered
to
be
the
father
of
modern
photojournalism. One of his most important photographs is Marilyn Monroe’s photo. 4. The real story behind the photograph “Children at a puppet theatre” was taken during the performance of a puppet theater playing the story “Saint Jorge and the dragon”. The photo is in the moment when Saint Jorge kills the dragon and it is the reason why the children are surprised and scared. The photo was taken in 1963 in the centre of Paris. 5. Conclusion We think to work in this project is good because we learned a lot of things about the photography, for example to see the story behind the photo and to analyze it objectively. It Is a different project that we aren’t accustomed to do, we liked very much this project because
it is very interesting. The most difficult for us was tell the story behind the photograph and when we know the real story we were surprise.
