1.Introduction We are going to analyze a photo that is about a family. We think that this is the best photo because it explains a normal family with the problems that the people had in that time period. We think that this is the best photo because it explains a normal family with the problems that the people had in that time period.

2.Observation skills In this picture, we can see a woman with her son and a dog. For us, the subject in this picture is the woman, because of the expression on her face, it is highly expressive. Behind the subject there is a car, a stilt granary, and in front of it, an unpaved road. We think that before this photo they were going for a walk around, and next of this photo, they go home and wait to her husband. About their faces, they are sad. This picture was taken on the 50´s or 60´s for the car in the background and their clothes.

3.History Two of us think that the story behind this photo is of a family separated for the war and the

woman (the child’s mother) decided took a family photo to send the photo to his father and the other one think that the photographer is the husband and they are having a day with the family. Next they will go for a walk through forest and afterwards to have lunch.

4.Technical Knowledge Point of view We think the photographer could be a neighbor. His point of view is at the same height of the woman. He’s standing and in front of the subject when the picture was taken. He doesn't cause any impression except an impression of equality.

Light The light is natural but we can’t guess where the light comes from, because it is a black and white picture.

Framing and Cropping The woman’s house is outside the frame. We think this framing shows the landscape and the cropping expresses the loneliness of the family. The cropping in this picture has a very strong importance because it puts the subject in the centre.

5.Meaning He wants to represent the perfect family in opposition to the expression on their face and body. The photo tells simply the importance of the family and It makes us feel tenderness when we see a united family. We work creatively with this photo in any way because it is a typical photo of the epoque. In this photo you can read a metaphor in the presence of the dog because it is considered a family member.

6.Virxilio Viéitez’s biography Virxilio Viéitez was born in Soutelo de Montes, on 23 October 1930. He started to work as a photographer in Costa Brava, the photographer started taking photos of the tourists. The photographer returned to Galicia, in the 60’s, the most part of the Galicians had emigrated to America, for this many of the photographs were portraits ( like our initial photo and these others) that later accompanied the letters that families sent as mood of testimony about different cotidian events, the majority of his photographs are black and white, but some are in color. In the 80’s he drop out the photography.

7.Conclusion This project was very satisfactory for us, because we think that it was a good form of learning many vocabulary, working in groups, the importance of photography, its most complex tricks and how analyze it and we know a little more about our history and ancestors.
