1. Introduction His name is Holden Caulfield, he is the protagonist of the book “El guardián entre el centeno”, or “The catcher in the rye”. When I read the book for the first time, I didn’t like it very much, but the second time I understood many things and I started to like the book. This character called my attention because he isn’t the typical teenager, and I think that I am going to remember that character for long.
2. Body Section 2.1. Phypical description He is young, 17 years old. In the book, he says that he is a tall and slender boy for his age.
He has white hair. He has a pipe, but he never uses it, and he always wears his brother’s hat, who died years ago. In his hand, he has an injury, because when his brother died, he broke a crystal with his hand.
2.2. Personal description Holden is not the typical boy. He is a real liar. The book doesn’t explain the reason why he lies all the time, but I think that he lies at people that he doesn’t know because he doesn’t trust them, and he lies at the people that he knows because he doesn’t really trust any person. His school marks are the worst, but even so, he is a very clever boy, whenever he wants. He analyzes people’s behaviour all the time, and he doesn’t bear the majority of the people. He’s not very popular, not very lucky in life, and is so serious, but still, he is so conformist and he likes to have fun. He likes to read, but he hasn’t remarkable hobbies. He doesn’t work, he studies at school, but he was expelled many times from many schools because of his marks.

3. Conclusion Reading the book, I saw that Holden is not the best person in the world, he has many defects. He is a liar, his school marks aren’t good… but I have many other reasons to choose him, because I prefer to be like Holden than have excellent school marks and be a bad person.
