1.Introduction In this project, we are going to talk about Forrest Gump. We chose this movie because it is very interesting and some members of the group had never seen it.

2.Film Synopsis Forrest Gump was a man who suffered a retardation since he was a child. He had a lot of problems because of his mental impairment. But he could live a life with a lot of emotions and incredible experiences always with people that loved him. This movie was based in a book, that has been adapted to the cinema in 1994, the book is called Forrest Gump and it has been written by Winston Groom. It tries to show us that there are no limits to anybody, it doesn’t matter the problems that you can have or the problems that could appear, cause Forrest did a lot of incredible things even though he’s a disabled man. We should think about it in real life with our problems. In conclusion, we’ve got to fight for our dreams, it teaches us values as not to have prejudices. In the movie there are flashbacks when Forrest tells his story to the people at the bus stop. Those flashbacks make the film more interesting, because it seems that there are more than one story. In the film, Forrest tells some stories about his life. Maybe the climax could be when Jenny comes to Forrest’s house, to stay there with him.

The story has a closed end. Forrest Gump, who is the voice-over, tells the story. He tells his feelings during the movie and we can see his interior life.

The movie represents Forrest's life in a way that you can know all about his personality. Forrest Gump was educated by his mother who was a singer and always supported her son because she didn't want Forest to be discriminated, she said to him "Life was like a box of chocolates. You never know what you're gonna get."

His phrases: ● “Stupid is as stupid does.” It is not a funny phrase, but it is in the context of the film , because people ask him: Are you stupid? and he answers the truth. ● “Bubba: My given name is Benjamin Buford Blue, but people call me Bubba. Just like one of them ol’ redneck boys. Can you believe that? Forrest: My name’s Forrest Gump. People call me Forrest Gump. (The tone is the best) ● Forrest: [running] I had run for 3 years, 2 months, 14 days, and 16 hours. [he stops and turns around] Young Man Running: Quiet, quiet! He’s gonna say something! Forrest: I’m pretty tired… I think I’ll go home now.”

The film is set in Alabama in the 90’s The film has classic and american songs which are of different styles and creates a good atmosphere. The original soundtrack was created by Alan Silvestri. Some important songs are: Jimi Hendrix Experience "All Along the Watchtower", Joan Baez “Blowin' in the wind”, Fortunate Son “Creedence Clearwater Revival”...

María’s character The major character that i will describe is “lieutenant Dan Taylor”. He is a rude man, or he wants us to think that. His life is war and he wants to die as a man, fighting in war to save his country, that's why when he loses his legs he converts himself in a bitter person and in an alcoholic. At the beginning we can see him wearing military clothes and when he loses his legs he wears old and dirty clothes. we can’t learn too much from him, cause he is always angry and shouting. His relationship with Forrest changes during the movie. This character shows us to get over from our problems. We can see that Dan Is a good person when he goes to visit Forrest when he has his boat. Dan changed a lot during the movie, at the beginning he was a self-confident militar, then he turns into a bitter man although at the end he is a happy man with a girlfriend and two prosthesis.

Carmen´s character Jenny has a light hair and eyes. She was Forrest Gump's best friend. She met Forrest at their school, they were always together. When they went to University they lost their relation. She was expelled for the University because of a photo, where she was naked just wearing a sweatshirt. She belonged to a poor family, she suffered from sexuals abuses by her father when she was a youngster. This fact was a negative influence in her life. After this she was a member of the Antiwar group of Vietnam, she met Forrest again, they were together all the night but in the morning Jenny went with her boyfriend. When Forrest told her that he was in love with her, she run away, because she was afraid. She consumed drugs, alcohol and she practiced prostitution. She has lack of self-esteem but at the end of the movie she died surrounded by her family, Forrest Gump and their son.

Sara’s character The character that I am going to talk about is forrest's mother. She is young at the beginning of the film, but with the passing of time she gets older. She always supported her son. She wears elegant clothes. She isn’t the principal character she is the supporting actor character. She is a tender woman especially with her son. In the film she is very proud of her son.The actress that performed forest’s mother is Sally Field. She is lit in order she appears more responsible and happy. I learned of this character that life isn’t easy, but you can’t give up. I think that this character is realistic, because she is a single mother who educates her son.

Julian’s character Forrest Gump is a simple man with a low I.Q. but good intentions. His 'mama' teaches him the ways of life and leaves him to choose his destiny. Forrest joins the army for service in Vietnam, finding new friends called Dan and Bubba, he wins medals, creates a famous shrimp fishing fleet, inspires people to jog, starts a ping-pong craze and meets the president several times. However, this is all irrelevant to Forrest who can only think of his childhood sweetheart Jenny Curran, who has messed up her life. Although in the end all he wants to prove is that anyone can love anyone..

3.Conversation “My Mama always said you've got to put the past behind you before you can move on” Forrest Gump (1985-2056) Forrest Gump is laying on the bed and Forrest Gump Junior is next to him. Forrest J: Hi daddy! How are you today? Forrest G: I´m better (he is depressed), how was your day at school? Forrest J: Great! And...daddy...what did the doctor say? Forrest G: Forrest.... This illness is becoming worse and worse Forrest J: I don’t want you to die… Forrest G: Darlin, my mama always said “you’ve got to put the past behind you before you can move on” Forrest J: I’ve got very bad luck, mom first and you now Forrest G: My mother always said, ”life was like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get” you’ve got a great future, remember that I will always love you (he said smiling) Forrest J: I love you too daddy( he hugs him) Forrest died two weeks later. Forrest Junior went to live with lieutenant Dan and his wive. Some years later Forrest Junior started to work helping disabled people, as is father.

This scene happens at the end of the movie. And the sentence that we used appears in the real movie while Forrest was running around the country, in 1h 52 minutes and 38 seconds
