● Introduction In this project we talk about “The boy in the striped pyjamas”. We selected this film because it is about an important theme, for example the Second War World. We selected this film because we had seen it before. We analyze one character and we talk about him. We also analyzed the trailer, the poster, and we wrote a dialogue

using a quote that appears in the film, that we chose, and which we will represent. And in the individual project we analyzed the film “the boy in the striped pyjama” This project has some parts and in each one we write about its characteristics.

● Dialogue This quote appears when Bruno escapes from his house and knows Shmuel in the “farm”. We will write a dialogue between Bruno, his sister (Gretel) and the private teacher. Narrator: In this moment they are in the hall at a desk and he is explaining. Teacher: Look! The Jewish are bad people. Bruno: Are the Jewish the people who are in the “ farms”?. Gretel: Yes, the Jewish are people that are insignificant. Bruno: And who decided which people wore the striped pyjamas and which people wore the uniforms?. Teacher: The people like your father are the responsible. Bruno: My father?? Oh, my God!. Gretel: Yes that’s why his job is very important. Teacher: In the future you can be a general. Bruno: Oh no! I don’t like generals, the Jewish are my friends! Gretel: Are you crazy? The Jewish can’t be our friends. Narrator: At this moment Bruno runs out of the room and the teacher and Gretel start to talk about Bruno’s future. Video: https://youtu.be/3qgQkKz7fLY

â—? Poster

This image is the poster of the film. In the foreground, we can see the two principal characters that are Bruno who is the rich boy and Shmuel that is a jewish boy. They are separated by a fence. Bruno has short black hair, his skin is white, he is wearing a white polo shirt, a brown waistcoat and a black bermuda short. Shmuel has close-cropped blonde hair, he is wearing a striped pyjamas. The two children are sitting and talking as friends. The only thing that separates them is the fence. They don’t understand politics or social differences. They are simply children. In the background there is a forest, the blue sky with clouds. On the top we can see the title of the film in white letters. The poster transmite curiosity because we can see the principal characters separated and we don’t know why. It is an image that has a big title that is up in white, there is also a small sentence in white that explains that this film won a prize.

● Synopsis The film is about a Nazi family, in which the father supports the Nazis. One day the son, Bruno, goes for a walk and he finds a child in a concentration camp, but Bruno doesn’t know what it is and that his father is in charge of all this. The child who is there, asks Bruno if he could help him to find his father, and Bruno goes. but finally they experiment a dreadful experiences.

The film has a closed end . The most tense part is when Bruno disappeared at the end and then the children are killed. There are different perspectives of the characters. This film is drama and it addresses Nazism and the situation of the family, there are tension between Bruno’s parents. The father, Ralph, is a round character and he influences his daughter and he lies to his wife. The sound and silences create an atmosphere of tension, distrust,..sometimes create joy. The film proceed chronologically. The story withhold crucial details until the end. The characters telling the story, we can see theirs feelings through them. It allow of spectator interpretation. I don’t like Ralph because he is liar. The story is about the Nazi war in Ireland.

● Characters

Sofia´s character: I’m going to describe Bruno’s mother, she is a Nazi Soldier’s

wife, I like her personality, she is sad because her husband “kills” the Jews and she feels impotent. She agrees with her husband about religion, but at the end she doesn’t agree with him because she discovered what he

was doing at the

concentration camp at the end of the film. She has brown hair and blue eyes.

Nerea´s character: I chose Bruno who is one of the main characters, who is the

son of a major Nazi and does not understand why his "friend " Shmuel cannot cross the wire fence to go with him and the reason why he always wears "a pyjamas".

6

Yanedt´s character: My favourite character is Shmuel because he is a harm person because he is foreigner, he works everyday in the concentration camp, he talks to

Bruno although they are “enemies”. He wears a pyjamas with black and white strips and he is a good and innocent person but he is sad all the film.

Alba´s character: Pavel, the waiter and helper of the Auschwitz house. He is a jew and practiced medicine before going to the concentration camp.

Pavel heals Bruno after falling off the swing, while he does the cures, they talk and they make friends. He dies brutally beaten by Lieutenant Kotler for throwing his wine glass unintentionally.

â—? Conclusion We like doing this project because it was entertaining and we learned something about the film and the principal characters. We also learned to analyze films, look for the message and try to learn from it. The most entertaining part was to make a video and analyze the trailer. The most difficult part was to analyze the film in the individual project because It was a long process.
