1. INTRODUCTION We are going to talk about Human Rights, we think that everybody should respect Human Rights, and our question is: Do we respect really Human Rights? A lot of people are discriminated for their gender. We defend Human Rights with no distinction of gender
2. DESCRIPTION We choose the right of gender equality because it is very important in the world. There are some countries where this right isn’t respected. Gender equality is a right that if it is respected, everybody will live better. We are going to talk about this right in different countries where this right isn’t respected. We worked in two countries, in Saudi Arabia and in Spain.
HUMAN RIGHTS IN SAUDI ARABIA A Saudi Arabia cannot vote of drive a car. She can’t receive medical care in a hospital neither travel without written authorization of a tutor man. She can’t study the same that a man and she is excluded from some professions. How many more girls must die? How many women must be violated before anyone do something. Most women in Saudi Arabia are controled by a man. They don’t do a lot of things if they haven’t his permission. Women are considered inferior to men. Saudi Arabia show everybody a new campaign for fight against violence gender.
Everybody in Saudi Arabia believes that the violence of gender is normal and nobody can speak about this.
HUMAN RIGHTS IN SPAIN Human Rights in Spain are more respected than in Saudi Arabia, but for example there are cases like one of the summer of 2014. Last year there were a lot of cases of dead woman. In Spain, Cataluña is the Autonomous Community where more women were assassinated. In Andalucía; last year, there were eleven women assassinated. The man who kills his partner often commits suicide afterwards. Other example of mistreatment to women is: One girl had a father that abused of his mun and his sister. She could not do anything to helped them. Everyday she saw who his father damaged his mum and his sister. Nobody did ever anything to help them. One day her parents got separated and his father had the little girl’s custody. And in other similar situations the girl didn’t see her father. In Spain in some cases men are the victims. There are some associations that help men in these situations.
3. CONCLUSION Irene: I think that this right is very important and that everybody must respect it, and nobody should die because of this type of violence. Adriana: I think that this right isn’t totally respected and everybody must respect it and then could enjoy a better life. A lot of women are killed because the gender equality isn’t respected, but sometimes men are killed too.
We went to Saudi Arabia and show people some photos of women after being abused and some photos of women before being abused to make people aware of their acts.
