Dada poem
Poems and songs selected. Poem: Carpe Diem by William Shakespeare (Dani) O mistress mine, where are you roaming? O stay and hear! your truelove's coming That can sing both high and low; Trip no further, pretty sweeting, Journey's end in lovers' meeting Every wise man's son doth know. What is love? 'tis not hereafter; Present mirth hath present laughter; What's to come is still unsure: In delay there lies no plenty, Then come kiss me, Sweet and twenty, Youth's a stuff will not endure. William Shakespeare
In this poem, the speaker is a man who is in love and he peaks about his love. This speaker is a casual observer. In this text the speaker talks about his emotions for his loved. The tone is changing while the poem progresses. The conflict of the poem is that one man is questioning himself about what is love. This conflict is internal. The poem is composed of two stanza. Each stanza has six lines. The lines of the poem have got the same syllables (seven) in each line but, the two first have eight syllables. In this poem the verbs are in active. The poet principally uses complete sentences although there are some lines that are composed of fragments. The author used natural word order . Song: Iron Man by Black Sabbath (Dani) I am iron man Has he lost his mind? Can he see or is he blind? Can he walk at all, Or if he moves will he fall? Is he alive or dead?
Has he thoughts within his head? We'll just pass him there Why should we even care? He was turned to steel In the great magnetic field Where he traveled time For the future of mankind Nobody wants him He just stares at the world Planning his vengeance That he will soon unfold Now the time is here For Iron Man to spread fear Vengeance from the grave Kills the people he once saved Nobody wants him They just turn their heads Nobody helps him Now he has his revenge Heavy boots of lead Fills his victims full of dread Running as fast as they can
Iron Man lives again!
Analysis of a song. This song is about a kind of hero. He, in the past, saves and helps the people but, they betrayed him and he swears revenge. The song is composed for six stanzas, all of them have got four lines except the first that it has five lines. This song was composed by Black Sabbath. Black Sabbath was a british group of the 60’s (age). It was compound for Tony Iommi, Ozzy Osbourne, Geezer Butler y Bill Ward. The song “iron man” was written in 1997.
Poem A dream within a dream (Gonzalo) Take this kiss upon the brow! And, in parting from you now, Thus much let me avow You are not wrong, who deem That my days have been a dream; Yet if hope has flown away In a night, or in a day, In a vision, or in none, Is it therefore the less gone? All that we see or seem Is but a dream within a dream. I stand amid the roar Of a surftormented shore, And I hold within my hand Grains of the golden sand How few! yet how they creep
Through my fingers to the deep, While I weep while I weep! O God! can I not grasp Them with a tighter clasp? O God! can I not save One from the pitiless wave? Is all that we see or seem But a dream within a dream? The title of this poem refers to a feeling of the author and it gives many clues about the nature of this poem because the author tells his feelings in the poem The title of the poem compared to the poem is purely descriptive I thinkThat the author of this poem writes similar themes in other poems This poem was written in the year 1849 In this poem there are instances of oldfashioned For example: Avow This word comes from the old french. Upon This word is the same as on. Amid This word is the same as in the middle of
Song Like a rolling (Gonzalo) Once upon a time you dressed so fine, Threw the bums a dime in your prime, didn't you ? People'd call, say, "Beware doll, you're bound to fall," You thought they were all a’kiddin' you. You used to laugh about Everybody that was hangin' out. Now you don't talk so loud, Now you don't seem so proud, About having to be scrounging your next meal. How does it feel ? How does it feel ? To be without a home ? Like a complete unknown ? Like a rolling stone ? Aw, you've gone to the finest school all right, Miss Lonely, But you know you only used to get “juiced” in it.
Nobody’s ever taught you how to live out on the street, And now you're gonna have to get used to it. You say you never compromise With a mystery tramp, but now you realize He's not selling any alibis As you stare into the vacuum of his eyes And say, “Do you want to make a deal? How does it feel ? How does it feel ? To be on your own ? With no direction home ? A complete unknown ? Like a rolling stone ? Aw, you never turned around to see the frowns On the jugglers and the clowns When they all did tricks for you. You never understood that it ain't no good, You shouldn't let other people get your kicks for you.
The title of this song refers to a thing that it likes to author and it gives many clues about the nature of the song The title compared to the poem is symbolic. I think that the author of the song doesn't write similar themes in other poems That song was written in the year 1965.
Conclusion. Before starting the project I didn’t like poetry and I thought it was very difficult to make poems. Now I think it is easier to work with poems. (Gonzalo) I started to make poetry in the third term. Before to start, I didn’t like and now I don’t love it. I learnt to do haiku, dadaist poem, calligram… Poetry isn’t an easy thing. Make a good poem is a laborious task. (Dani)
