We are going to talk about Human Rights. Human Rights , are commons for everyone, without distinction of nationality, place of origin, sex , colour , religion, or another condition. All people have got the same rights, without any discrimination. They are divided in thirty articles. Then we are going to talk about a Human Right, that we have chosen. We chose the right number 4, that is nobody is slave of anyone We chose it because we think that this right must be respected, and it is a grave problem in some countries. These are some countries where this right isn’t respected: Countries

We are going to start talking about USA, where slavery was legal. USA is a country in the north of America. In 19th century, there were 800 millions of residents, 300 millions black people were slaves, only 200.000 black people were free. Slaves couldn’t enjoy any civil right. They were sold out or transferred as an object. Each slave cost about 2.000 dollars. Some slaves were used to grow sugar cane, others to grow cotton.
In Spain African slaves were bought to grow the fields, as builders, and slave women are used as servants .
We found two films about slavery, they are called: “12 years of slavery” and “The majordomo”. “12 years of slavery” talks about one black man that now is a slave of a white man. He works as a builder, also grows the field with more people of his same race, before he was a free man and he was an important person, but one day people who hated people of different race beat him and sold into slaves. His dream is to return with his family. (THRILLER) “The majordomo” is one film that is about one black man that was grown in a cotton farm and when he grew up he became the majordomo of “the White House” (THRILLER)
“12 years of slavery”
Marta's opinion : I think in this project I learned what human rights are, where these rights aren’t accomplished and a film (that talks) about slavery. At the beginning I liked this project but sometimes it was a little boring. The most difficult part, I think, was to search for the information and the easiest part was to find the film. Celeste's opinion: This project was not as fun as I thought, because I was a bit bored doing it. I liked to search for the information about slavery, the photos, films and books , but we didn’t find any book. With this project we learn more about slavery in Spain and in the country that we chose, that is USA. We want with this project that people know as slavery is in these countries and in all over the world.
