A short summary “O carteiro de Bagdad” is about a boy who is in the middle of a war. This boy had good parents who try to encourage him with this. His mother is a housewife. His father is a postman. One day Abdulwahid’s father had a terrible accident with his motorcycle. And he forgot to give a letter. Then Abdulwahid decides that it was better to give him the card in person, to do this Abdulwahid visited a friend called Ahmed. Then they went to look for the card’s owner. Ahmed says to Abdulwahid that it will be better to spend the night in his cousin’s house. His cousin was preparing an attack because he is taking part in the war. That day the Ahmed’s cousin said: “Vémonos no paraíso rapaces”. Next day Abdulwahid gave the card to an old man... and if you want to know more read the book. Plot I think the main action were when Ibrahim, (Abdulwahid’s dad) had an accident and he couldn’t give the letter to the owner. I think the beginning of the story is when Abdulwahid’s mother, Fathia, tell him that the books and the cards are very important because they are the way to escape from wars. The middle is when Abdulwahid’s dad crashed The end is when Abdulwahid and Ahmed return to their homes.

Setting This story is about Bagdad a city who was and still is in a war. This story takes place in the present.

Characters Ahmed, Abdulwahid, Fathia, Ibrahim. Ahmed: Is the boy who escorts Abdulwahid to deliver the letter to his owner . He’s very brave. Abdulwahid: Is the main character. He’s a shy boy who wants the end of the war, when you met him you know that he’s also cheerful and quite sensitive. Fathia: Is Abdulwahid’s mum. She is always worried what Abdulwahid does. Ibrahim: Is Abdulwahid’s dad. He is a good dad. He plays with Abdulwahid when he can. Conclusion The end of this story is quite happy, not at all because the war doesn’t finish. What the book means to me? The disaster who means the war. Why did I like it? I like the book because the book says what people feels in wars.

What did the theme mean to me? . I think the author wants to say that wars are unnecessary to solve troubles. Why should we read this book . You should read this book if you want good adventures and, you want to know about the war in Bagdad. What I learned from the story? That I have good luck to live in Spain.

A list of sentences quotes that are important to the story - Nada muda en Bagdad. O balbordo dos estoupidos e dos disparos continúa neste primeiro día de muharram, o mes que inagura o novo ano. - Vémonos no paraíso rapaces. - Os adultos despídense todos con moitos mecos, coma se non se fosen ver ao día seguinte polas calellas do barrio. I choose this quotes because they’re very exciting. An intresting passage from the book - ¡Alto!-bérralles Mohamed. Os dous rapaces sobresáltanse. Un dos homes crúzase diante da porta empuñando un arma e if you want to know more you’ll have to read the book.
