What a fantastic year for Primo Bar, thank you to all our guests and acts for making 2013 a year to remember with some real highlights from the live lounge.
I love Christmas, it is such an exciting time of year especially here in London. The team have been creating some exciting Christmas cocktails; you can even make one of them at home with my cocktail of the month recipe for Vanilla Martini – a perfect complement to your Christmas party.
We arrive at the busiest time of year with Christmas parties and New Year’s Eve celebrations and if you have not already, now is the time to sieze the Christmas spirit and to enjoy one of the most beautiful cities in the world this festive season. Try the chic ice skating rink by the London Eye or see the fantastic festive window displays at the world famous Harrods. Personally I enjoy The Southbank Centre Christmas Market with more than 80 traditionally decorated wooden chalets selling a wide range of unique hand-crafted gifts and unusual Christmas presents. Ideally located it is a good place to go browsing and shop before coming to Primo for a drink. Enjoy Christmas and make this New Year an unforgettable one!

Tammy Federman is a multi-talented singer/songwriter from Israel whose debut album was a hit on local radio stations. Tammy’s single “Always with You” made it to the top of the national char ts and became an instant hit, she received her first recognition during a collaboration with DJ Yahel performing in several music festivals across the world and continues to use these influences in her new live performance.
The late jazz legend Sir John Dankworth predicted “a very bright future with the possibility of Atila’s name eventually ending up in lights” and still in his mid-twenties, Atila has gone on to establish himself as one of Britain’s most exciting vocal talents.

Marília Schanuel started singing in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 12, but despite her age, she demonstrated a remarkable voice, strong and true. Marilia has been a professional singer since 2004 singing in famous venues across Europe and continues to echo her South American cultural sounds throughout her performances.
Jennifer Phillips is one of the leading female artists in the UK who is known for her big vocals and impeccable range that captivates audiences around the world. Jennifer Phillips has worked with various artists such as Mariah Carey, Chaka Khan and Michael Bolton to name just a few. Jennifer is an outgoing person who enjoys inspiring people through music and motivational speaking.
T h e S t e v i e Wo n d e r E x p e r i e n c e band was conceived by renowned saxophonist Renato D’Aiello and fronted by Rober to Angrisani, a quintet with strong roots in gospel, jazz and pop. The idea was to explore the interaction between Renato’s jazz solos on top melodies and harmonies of Stevie Wonder’s compositions which offer an inspiring territory for improvisation. Roberto is director of the “Urban Voices” choir which sang at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games and at the recent BAFTA awards.

Alex Charles is a British-born singer and musician who enjoyed great success in the charts in the 80’s and 90’s and fronted soul group Heatwave for over 25 years.
Josephine Desmond has been wowing audiences throughout the UK and Europe whilst fronting various bands and acoustic duos. Expect a high mezzo soprano voice from a supremely talented jazz vocalist.
This is the story of two sisters who began singing together as toddlers at National Bluegrass Festivals alongside musical parents their father performed with Dolly Parton while mother, Kathy, wrote Kaleidoscopes. Combining early folk festival influences with the urban, contemporary styles of today, Mia and the Moon have honed a distinctive, gospel sound, and reach out to people of all ages with timeless musical style. “Power of a five part choir!” Gary Barlow.
Alex sings with a high, strong and clear vocal tone, which works wonders when singing many styles of music, whether it be a vigorous, funky James Brown number or a Michael Jackson ballad ‘She’s Out of My Life’ with dance and showmanship to match.

Fil Straughan skilfully blends Marvin Gaye’s energy with Luther Vandross’s passion which can be heard on all of his recordings. From jazz to house and everything in between, Fil Straughan knows music and it shines through in his unique vocal skill.
Heidi’s career has seen her tour the world as the lead singer for The Cinematic Orchestra, including live concerts at The Royal Albert Hall, albums and concerts with symphony orchestras and TV appearances.
NIKITA is a young singer / songwriter from London who has extensively gigged the London circuit. Nikita has been influenced and inspired by a variety of artists from Celine Dion to Shania Twain and Fleetwood Mac through to Christina Aguilera and Jojo. Her songs consist of strong melodies encompassing authentic, meaningful lyrics and themes.
Fil also enjoys collaborating with others whether he has co-written a song or is simply adding his rich voice to the mix.

Having toured the world as lead guitarist with groups such as ska legends The Trojans, Vin Gordon (Studio1 & Bob Marley) and Eddie Tantan Thornton (Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, Boney M), Benoit decided it was time to step firmly into the limelight as band leader. Benoit formed his orchestra in 2009 and became an immediate hit on London’s cabaret and vintage speakeasy scene. Since then Benoit and his Orchestra have played all over the UK and Europe to critical acclaim.
British born Louis Vann Johnson hails from South East London. His sound is edgy, rhythmical and vibrant.
Jessica Berry is an up and coming vocalist and song-writer based in London. Her warm, distinct tone lends itself perfectly to both pop/soul and jazz and she currently boasts a London residency at Soho House’s “Little House”.

Louis is known for his unique style of performing, engaging crowds as if they were on stage with him. His ability to improvise and his high level of musicality really keeps listeners and viewers entertained. His lyrical content is poetic, methodical and usually story based.
Jessica’s current EP entitled ‘Stardust’ is a collection of her original songs which she launched last year at Ronnie Scott’s Club.

Cocktail Of The Month Vanilla Martini
Ingredients: 1 Vanilla pod 10ml Sugar syrup 20ml Vanilla vodka 60ml Vodka Method: Slice the vanilla pod in half and muddle at the bottom of the cocktail shaker. Add the sugar, Absolut avoured vodka, put the lid on and shake. Double strain into a martini glass and enjoy.

I was invited to sing backing vocals at a celebrity club in the West End. One day while I was performing on stage singing to the ladies, a small girl came on stage and interrupted my song to say “Oh my God you’re amazing”, I said thank you very much but I’m performing. I look around the room in confusion and at that moment the host Patrick Allen said “Ladies and Gentlemen ‘Miss Amy Winehouse’”. She had released her Debut album ‘Frank’ by this time, but I wasn’t aware of it. She then started singing and I said “No! You’re amazing!” We had been good friends and worked closely together right up until her passing. YOu ArE ABOuT TO rELEASE YOur NEW ALBuM. WhO DID YOu PrODuCE IT WITh AND WhAT IS ThE MuSICAL STYLE? My album is called ‘Liquid Sonic Sex’. It’s a smooth and sexy album, great for light conversation, long drives etc. The focus of this album was to make music that was consistent from start to finish. Some artists have an iPod album where every song is different, but for me I felt it was important
that each song flowed smoothly from one into the next. YOu hAvE rECENTLY LAuNChED YOur NEW MONThLY rESIDENCY AT PrIMO. CAN YOu TELL uS MOrE ABOuT ThE ShOW? Primo Bar is in a prime location in Central London with an amazing view of Big Ben. The bar has a great atmosphere and I felt my music was the perfect complement. I am fortunate that I have an audience from young to old. recently an elderly couple brought eight of their friends to have a meal next door then they booked a table at Primo Bar. Also the great thing about Primo Bar is it has space for everyone to dance, so I had the youngsters and the elders up on their feet dancing to “Candy”. Aline was born in Southern Brazil and had her first experience with music singing in a choir. In early 2011 she moved to London where she became resident of the Bossa Nova Lounge night at Guanabara Bar as well as performing in well-known venues like Ronnie Scott’s, Coco Bamboo, Somerset House, Made in Brazil. She is now working on new Brazilian and English song projects.

Curtis began performing at the young age of 16 and has now performed in over 20 different countries. Curtis has performed in lead roles in several West End musicals and now brings his Soul and Motown duo to Primo Bar. Singing along side Curtis is Deborah, lead vocalist in The Dreamgirlz.
Jessica Berry is an up and coming vocalist and song-writer based in London. Her warm, distinct tone lends itself perfectly to both pop/soul and jazz and she currently boasts a London residency at Soho House’s “Little House”.
Paris-born, London-based, singer / songwriter / blues harpist Florence Joelle captures the spirit of classic jazz and blues records from long before the digital era.
Jessica’s current EP entitled ‘Stardust’ is a collection of her original songs which she launched last year at Ronnie Scott’s Club.
As well as her own compositions, her sets feature exuberant covers: Django Reinhardt’s ‘Coucou’, paying homage to her hometown, Duke Ellington’s ‘Caravan’, and Louis Jordan’s ‘You Ain’t My Baby’ and many more.

Fil Straughan skilfully blends Marvin Gaye’s energy with Luther Vandross’s passion which can be heard on all of his recordings. From jazz to house and everything in between, Fil Straughan knows music and it shines through in his unique vocal skill.
Throughout his career, André Luz has developed projects for bands, duets and trios, performing in theatres and other venues in Sao Paulo and Rio de Janeiro.
Miss Alba Plano is an artist from Sicily formerly a Radio presenter and actress in many Italian soap operas but her real passion is playing music. Inspired by Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday, Alba moved towards Jazz playing all across the world and likes to explore other sounds such as Bossa Nova, Soul and Pop. Now l i vi ng i n London she wishes t o produce her own original album soon.
Fil also enjoys collaborating with others whether he has co-written a song or is simply adding his rich voice to the mix.
After moving to Europe, André has per for med for events at Brixton Academy, Made in Brazil, The Lost Angel and Musikcafé in Amsterdam amongst others.

Paris-born, London-based, singer / songwriter / blues harpist Florence Joelle captures the spirit of classic jazz and blues records from long before the digital era.
The late jazz legend Sir John Dankworth predicted “a very bright future with the possibility of Atila’s name eventually ending up in lights” and still in his mid-twenties, Atila has gone on to establish himself as one of Britain’s most exciting vocal talents.
A singer from Rio de Janeiro, who studied music at the Ayrton Senna Institute in São Paulo. Ester Azeredo has a passion for Bossa Nova and Jazz. In Brazil, She has made numerous national TV appearances promoting Bossa Nova on the TV show “Programa Raul Gil”. Ester has performed for the past year and a half in Dublin, Ireland, She also made an appearance in the Bray Jazz Festival in May 2013. Now in London, Ester has continued to draw in the crowds with her talents.

KIK are a new acoustic duo formed in the summer of 2013 by London guitar player and singer Alex Feinstein and Italian drummer from Milano Edoardo Mazzola.
Life Is A Musical will feature some of the best voices from the West End. Every month we invite different singers from the hottest musicals around to take to the Primo Bar stage and perform songs from the acclaimed London musicals such as The Lion King, Phantom of the Opera, Billy Elliot or Ghost just to name a few. This month we welcome Lorna Wright to the stage who has an impressive background in theatre.
As a writer and performer, Julian Burdock has worked with some popular artists over the years from Seal to Beverley Knight. Now with his new formation, he performs one of the best Beatles tribute acts on the circuit.
They are an original/cover band and their music is a mix sound of folk and pop, influenced by Jack Johnson, Paolo Nutini and Oasis. They will be touring all over UK next summer as an opening act of a well know band.

Marília Schanuel started singing in Rio de Janeiro at the age of 12, but despite her age, she demonstrated a remarkable voice, strong and true. Marilia has been a professional singer since 2004 singing in famous venues across Europe and continues to echo her South American cultural sounds throughout her performances.
Max is an established performing musician with extensive international experience. Max played for 80’s hit act Wang Chung and is today a successful musical director for a professional theatre company and regularly works on UK-wide touring shows.
T h e S t e v i e Wo n d e r E x p e r i e n c e band was conceived by renowned saxophonist Renato D’Aiello and fronted by Rober to Angrisani, a quintet with strong roots in gospel, jazz and pop. The idea was to explore the interaction between Renato’s jazz solos on top melodies and harmonies of Stevie Wonder’s compositions which offer an inspiring territory for improvisation. Roberto is director of the “Urban Voices” choir which sang at the closing ceremony of the Olympic Games and at the recent BAFTA awards.
