The live bands performing every night provide the best selection of classical tunes from Soul to Pop, Jazz or Bossa Nova. Summer is now gone and it was definitely one to remember with lots of great performers and shows! Even though the weather was exceptionally beautiful, we were pleased to see that a lot of our regulars and also many new guests attended our free live entertainment every night of the week. Our first Tango evening was a success and we are looking forward to the next onesevery last Wednesday of the month! Now filled with positive energy after such a wonderful summer, we are looking forward to welcoming back our guests with an exciting new program. This autumn at Primo, we are happy to announce our new collaboration with Ont’ Sofa for their monthly residency every first Friday of the month, showcasing the best new emerging UK talents. We will also be offering you some new spicy flavours with “N’Ilma”, an exotic Arabian Night with an added twist of traditional club music and Arabian performances. Amy Winehouse’s protégé, Kristian Marr, will also be performing two different type of shows; a solo Blues act and another more Rock-inspired performance with a full band… a must-see for music lovers! Come and celebrate Halloween with us for a spooky night with surprise entertainment… We’re expecting our guests to join us in fancy dress, so dress up and the best costume will win a prize. What’s more, Primo’s mixologists have created something special for Halloween; a new cocktail named “The Black Widow’s Kiss”… how horribly tasty!

Originally harking from Wales, Iona is a multitalented singer, songwriter, guitarist and harpist. With an already impressive selection of appearances and credits including; headlining the “Young Hero Awards” for Scarlets FM and The Bay Radio, Thomas will also be supporting X-Factor finalists “The Reason” and “Andy Abraham” on their upcoming engagements. After conquering the Swedish jazz scene, newly arrived ‘One For My Baby’ are now London based, performing nostalgic jazz with a refreshing new twist. With their distinct style, blend and tone, they put a unique spin on the great old jazz classics. Their impressive vocal arrangements and beautiful harmonies result in some truly inspirational duets. For some Hollywood glamour mixed with a little Vegas Rat Pack action come and check out this dynamic duo.

Gizelle Dias is a Brazilian singer and musician, who despite her classical training, carries the essence of Brazilian music in her soul. Through her voice and violin, she presents a new perspective on Brazilian regional folk music. Gizelle was born into a family of musicians and began her musical studies at the age of 6. She began to perform professionally at the age of 9, becoming a member of several orchestras and groups in her city, Recife. Presently, she performs as a solo artist and also acts as the lead in an all-female string group, where she has just released her first album called “Flor de muçambé”.

Currently living in London, the Brazilian dream pop duo started making music back in 2009, with their first independent EP ‘Leveleve’.

Zalon is a soulful singer, making you fall in love with music again. Many recognise him as the lead backing vocalist to Amy Winehouse, contributing to the phenomenal platinum success, historical five Grammies win, plus an accolade of awards. Singing a l o n g s i d e s o m e o f t h e w o r l d ’s biggest artists, has led him to being photographed and interviewed by the media all over the world. Watch out for Zalon’s album co-produced with Grammy winner Mark Ronson releasing later this year.

Born and raised in a family of artists, painters and musicians, Stefania started to love music and visual arts since childhood. Stefania’s career as singer started in 2004, when she was still a student, performing in Jazz venues and clubs as well as theatres and big stages. Her repertoire includes the most beautiful songs from the American songbook (Chet Baker, Frank Sinatra, Mel Tormé) and also a huge selection of Bossa Nova masterpieces (Djavan, A. Barroso, C. Buarque).

Kate Threfall is a soulful young singer songwriter who incorporates a love of Jazz, Soul and many things in between in her honest and warm songs at the piano. Born in Manchester to wonderfully musical parents and a family of performers, Kate was raised learning the piano and cello, finding her love for singing around the age of eight when she was introduced to Stevie Wonder and Aretha Franklin amongst many more.

Ariana Tahanzadeh is a singer/songwriter from Surrey, currently studying at the Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford. She has recently been working with singer/songwriter, Judie Tzuke on her recently released EP that is based on alternative pop and influences from Lana Del Rey, Paloma Faith and Alanis Morrisette through to Daughter and London Grammar.

Carol Andrade was born in São Paulo. After flirting with blues and jazz, Carol developed a project dedicated to the MPB (Música Popular Brasileira). She has won significant awards such as “best singer“ at the Corumbataí and Queluz Festivals. The milestone in Carol’s career was the release of her first record “Vida Adentro”, with the majority of the songs composed by herself and arranged by Alex Maia. Touring in Europe, Primo Bar will have the pleasure of hosting Carol for one of her UK dates!

Introducing Kristian Marr, self-described as friendly and approachable, he is also known as the North East boy with a Blues Rock Soul. Kristian’s career started with the Towers of London supporting Gun’s n Roses and New York Dolls. Since then he has embarked on a solo career and his new album “The Eagle has Landed” is out at the end of the year. Kristian has a Chinese tour booked for October, has just wrapped shooting on Sadie Frost’s new film “Set the Thames on Fire” and is the new face for The Kooples advertising campaign worldwide.

One of the most exciting talents to have emerged from the magic scene, Magical Bones combines his love of magic with incredible dance moves honed from a career of dancing for some of the biggest names in the music industry. This is magic that you’ve never seen before.

Leslie Phillips is a French jazz/soul singer/songwriter currently living in London. One of the most exciting voices to come out of the Paris Soul Afro-Beat jazz scene, Leslie has made many TV and radio appearances in France, performing regularly at top Paris nightspot ‘The Bizz’Art Club’. Her mesmerizing voice can be described as a mixture of Erika Badu and Lauryn Hill.

Considered one of South Africa’s top jazz singers, producer and arranger Richard Nile says “not only does Kate have a beautiful voice, remarkable timing and superb intonation but her innate musicality gives her that rarest of musical accomplishments: taste.” Time Out calls her one of London’s “brightest emerging jazz stars.”

Alba Plano is a soulful vocalist with a particular jazz tone. Aged 16, she moved her direction to Jazz and Bossa Nova and started her Jazz training inspired by Ella Fitzgerald and Billie Holiday. She now offers a perfect blend of Jazz and Neo Soul.

Jesse is a soul singer/songwriter from hailing from London, England, who provides smooth soulful vocals complemented by warm melodies drawn from influences from the likes of Marvin Gaye to David Gray. Jesse works with a band of strong passionate musicians.

Passion, sensuality and elegance â&#x20AC;&#x201C; three perfect ingredients to creating the greatest Milonga* in the heart of London. This is our opening night where we will introduce a delicious new tango class, on the last Wednesday of each month, excluding August.

Singer songwriter born and raised in Manchester, Chris has been singing all his life and is heavily influenced by soul jazz and gospel. Despite no musical background in his family Chris knew his place was on the stage whether in theatre or popular music. Chris was fortunate to be part of the success of Channel 4’s Musicool, and he has worked with touring with artists opening for acts such as Neyo and T-Pain not to mention touring with Josh Groban as a backing vocalist for his sold out UK tour. Now he lives in London where he is currently working his first EP.

Singing professionally for over ten years both as a lead and backing vocalist, Kristin Hosein has excellent harmony and vocal arrangement skills. Stylistically versatile, Kristin trained in contemporary music performance at The Academy of Contemporary Music in Guildford, and now tours internationally with sell out acts, whilst balancing her time in the studio with writing and recording as a session artist.

A fresh and new approach to an acoustic duo, infused with incredible percussive guitar and soul influenced vocals. Jack’s rhythmic and melodic picking of acoustic guitar is complimented well with Mits’ captivating and clear-cut vocals. Cocktail of the month The Black Widowâ&#x20AC;&#x2122;s Kiss Ingredients:

50 ml Captain Morgan Spiced Rum 50 ml passion fruit juice 10 ml passion fruit syrup 25 ml egg white 10 ml Black Sambuca 10 ml Jagermeister

Method: Shake the rum, juice, syrup and egg white in a cocktail shaker. Pour the mixture over a glass filled with crushed ice. Finally top the cocktail with Black Sambuca and Jagermeister, and garnish with half a passion fruit.

Interview with KRISTIAN MARR TELL US A LITTLE BIT ABOUT YOURSELF? I am a passionate, creative musician who loves to play the guitar and sing. I am 30 years old and have got a few stories to tell. Recently I have caught the running bug and as a result have been competing in 5k races. WHAT ARE YOUR INFLUENCES? Angus Young (AC/DC) was my first inspiration. Seeing him running up and down the stage, whilst playing the way he does, was simply mesmerizing and still is. I have a whole catalogue of music that inspires me - Rock, Blues, Country the list just goes on... and my favourite singer of all time? Bon Scott, without a doubt! He could really reach some high notes and had great lyrics.

HOW WOULD YOU DEFINE YOUR STYLE? I would say my style is blues-inspired with lead guitar. Rock ‘n’ Roll on the acoustic. Comforting vocals. COULD YOU PLEASE TELL US ABOUT YOUR COLLABORATION WITH AMY WINEHOUSE? Our collaboration resulted in us recording a song together called So Strange. It’s Yet to be heard or released. She had also invested a lot of time and money into recording my first album (The Eagle has Landed). WHAT IS YOUR BEST STAGE PERFORMANCE MEMORY? Every gig always has something new to offer, but I’d have to say recently playing at the Hyde Park Festival was by far the best with a 60,000+ crowd and not a cloud in the sky...

Originally from from Cape Town, South Africa, Lee has recently relocated to the UK. She has been playing piano from the age of eight and after many years of paying her musical dues, she has blossomed into a beautiful, talented and professional singer and pianist. She attended the South African College of Music to complete her undergraduate jazz piano degree and postgraduate diploma in jazz vocals with Distinction. Lee has been fortunate to receive private tutelage from top international singers Deborah Tanguy and Natascha Roth.

The Stevie Wonder Experience band was conceived by renowned saxophonist Renato D’Aiello and fronted by Lily Dior, a quintet with strong roots in gospel, jazz and pop. The idea was to explore the interaction between Renato’s jazz solos on top melodies and harmonies of Stevie Wonder’s compositions which offer an inspiring territory for improvisation. Lily Dior one of Australia’s most captivating singers, became a seminal member of Sydney’s hottest Soul/Funk outfit, The Godmothers, wowing audiences with her electric stage presence and powerful voice.

Kate Threlfall is a soulful young singer songwriter who incorporates a love of Jazz, Soul and many things in between in her honest and warm songs at the piano. The Latin Quarter, a London based group of musicians putting a fresh ‘Latin spin’ on popular song. Forest Jazz is a nifty little trio based in London, serving up known and loved jazz standards. Louise Nornes heads up the trio with heartfelt vocals. She fell in love with London’s pulsating jazz scene when moving from her native Norway five years ago. Paul and Susie Geeson add vibrant bass and tinkling of the ivories to the mix. After studying jazz at Middlesex University, Susie embarked on a teaching career, whilst Paul played for world-renowned musicians such as Stacey Kent.
