In This Issue
BY DON EMDE Publisher / Editor-in-Chief
There is certainly a lot going on these days. The NVP in Madison is significant, not only due to the large number of dealers, sales reps, vendors, and LeMans employees who attend, but being in August puts it at the very front of a new business year. Products that consumers will be buying in stores next Spring will be introduced at this NVP.
As we do in many issues of Parts Magazine, we highlight a major segment of the powersports market in this issue – ATVs and UTVs. Those sporty off-road four-wheelers that have been such an important part of the market for many years. I can’t think of any segment of the market that played such a major role in helping dealers from coast-tocoast get through the Covid pandemic a few years ago. Just when many thought the whole business might grind to a halt, people wanted to get outdoors, and the already popular four-wheelers got even more popular.
As you will see in the special section starting on page 44 there are numerous manufacturers building products for the side-by-sides, including S&S Cycle and Vance & Hines who are bringing their horsepower histories to that segment of the sport.
E-Bikes is another growing category for Parts Unlimited. In this issue you’ll see an introduction to the new iGO line of E-Bikes that will fill in another segment of the bicycle market to go with the already popular INTENSE Tazer MX E-Bikes. Read all about that on page 32.
Lastly, I wanted to share a fun experience I had recently when I was invited by Vance & Hines to join some of them on a motorcycle road ride connected to the annual MotoAmerica Superbike weekend at Laguna Seca Raceway in Monterey, California.
Hosted by former 3-time World Roadracing champion and MotoAmerica president Wayne Rainey, the event called “Rainey’s Ride to the Races” was a fundraiser for Roadracing World Magazine’s Air Fence fund, each available spot on the 100-mile ride was made possible by a donation to the fund. When the day was done, nearly $100,000 had been raised. Read more about the ride in the News on page 12. ■

Dominant Mees Sets Record at Orange County Half-Mile
Parts Unlimited/Drag Specialties/ Indian rider Jared Mees claimed sole possession of the career Grand National Championship Half-Mile wins record with a showcase performance at the Orange County Half-Mile in Middletown, New York, for the first time in 35 years.
The combination of Mees’ immense ability, experience, and support provided the reigning champion with a decisive edge on a hyper-slick surface that tested the upper limits of the field’s collective skill.
Even a late red flag that wiped out the multi-second lead Mees had diligently assembled did little to dent the factory Indian star’s dominance on the evening. He simply powered off the staggered start and marched away while his primary rivals waged war for second behind him.
The last time the series visited the centuryold venue, the legendary Scott Parker earned one of his record-setting 35 career Half-Mile wins. Mees’ victory tonight was his 36th HM win, which established the new all-time mark. ■

Rainey’s Ride Raises Money for Air Fences
ALMOST $100,000 RAISED FOR ROADRACING WORLD ACTION FUND
It was great to be offered a ticket to participate in this year’s Third Annual “Rainey’s Ride to the Races,” held on Friday, July 7th prior to the MotoAmerica races at Laguna Seca Raceway. Thanks to a generous donation by Terry Vance, an extra ticket was available, which allowed me to share the road with some old friends and legends of the sport.
The 100-mile morning ride began at the Moto Talbott motorcycle museum in Carmel. After first exploring the scenic Monterey Peninsula, the group of 70 riders took two laps around the WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca circuit and enjoying a great catered lunch and Q&A with celebrity

riders. Following lunch, John Ulrich and Dan Argano gave an informative presentation on how the soft-air barrier systems continue to protect our riders in the road racing community.
Wayne Rainey, himself a former 3-time World Roadracing Champion and current head of MotoAmerica, summed up the results of this year’s ride. He said, “I truly want to thank all the riders for taking part in this special event. This supports the Roadracing World Action Fund, which provides for the purchase of the Air Fence and Alpina soft barriers. I think it’s amazing that we raised just shy of $100,000 from the ride.”

Summer Break Sizzle
MOOSE RACING, THOR RIDERS KEEP IT PINNED
The dust has settled on the first half of the American off-road racing season, and some of the heavy hitters are heading into the summer break with championships already in hand. Among those are multiple Parts Unlimited-backed riders, including FMF/KTM Factory Racing’s Trystan Hart and Johnny Girroir, RPM KTM’s Gus Riordan, and AmPro Yamaha’s Rachael Archer
If he hadn’t already proved it, Canadian racer Trystan Hart served notice yet again that he is a force in the AMA Hard Enduro scene. The THOR-backed rider helped himself to a double-header win at the Keystone Challenge in Pennsylvania over Memorial Day weekend, capturing the Tough Like RORR win on Saturday and the Shotgun Hard Scrambles on Sunday. The Saturday’s win didn’t come easy after Hart managed to shear off both of his footpegs in the rocky terrain, but in true robot-like determination, Hart pressed on for the win, and took the U.S. Hard Enduro East Championship in the process.
Back home, Hart capped off the AMA Hard Enduro Championship at the Silver Kings Hard Enduro with another win—his sixth in a row in the American extreme enduro scene. It marked his fourth straight AMA Hard Enduro title, but Hart’s sights remain fixed on the world crown.
THOR-backed FMF KTM riders on both coasts continue to lead the way, as Ben Kelley took a dramatic come-frombehind win at the Snowshoe GNCC. In doing so, Kelley became only the second repeat winner of an eventful GNCC season. He is now four points out of the lead with three rounds remaining.
On the West Coast, FMF KTM factory riders Dante Oliveira and Mateo Oliveira continue to light the way in the National Grand Prix Championship Series and AMA West Hare Scrambles. The THOR-backed brothers even participated in the famous 10 Hours of Glen Helen simply for the sake of race testing the KTM 450 XCF-W, of course, over-alling the event with teammates Taylor Robert and Ryan Morais.
The U.S. Sprint Enduro Championship has concluded with THOR athlete Girroir, having already claimed the title, completing the season with another win. Girroir’s victory at the final round at Harleywood made it seven wins from eight rounds.
Moose Rider Rachael Archer rode her AmPro Yamaha to the women’s USSE championship, also putting a stamp on her championship by dominating the final at Harleywood,

You just can’t keep Moose Racing/Yamaha rider Rachael Archer off the podium. Not only did the talented racer earn the women’s U.S. Sprint Enduro Championship, she’s also dominating the GNCC WXC Championship points run with three races left in the season. Photo courtesy of Moose Racing
shutting out the competition with 12 out of 12 test wins on the weekend.
In the U.S. Sprint Enduro Pro 2 ranks, it was a much closer finish as RPM KTM’s Riordan and defending champion Cody Barnes, both Moose Racing riders, were locked in a winnertake-all battle for the championship. Riordan had to win both days for a shot at the title, but he did exactly that, pulling off the championship by only 25 seconds over the Phoenix Honda rider.
For Women’s Champion Archer, the battles aren’t over yet. She has a firm hand on the GNCC WXC championship, but Moose Racing rider Korie Steede isn’t about to let it go without a fight. The Trail Jesters KTM rider wrestled the Mason Dixon GNCC win away from Archer to claim her third win of the season, but Archer answered back with a win at the Snowshoe GNCC demonstrating that she will be tough to beat on her way to defending her number-one plate. ■

A Day at the Races
EMPLOYEES TURN OUT FOR RACING, CAMARADERIE
Joining in with the festivities of the Bagger Racing League (BRL) 2023 Season Rounds 3 and 4, Parts Unlimited and Drag Specialties workers turned out at Blackhawk Farms Raceway for the LeMans Corporation Employee Appreciation Picnic.
Those attending the event at the track in South Beloit, Illinois not only caught a fantastic day of racing, they also enjoyed a picnic of food and refreshments at the famous Parts Unlimited hospitality semi-truck.
The day of racing kicked off with a lap around the track in honor of late LeMans Corporation founder Fred Fox. Leading the lap was Fred’s wife Paula Fox in a black convertible, followed by Paul Langley, LeMans Chairman and CEO, and Fred’s nephew, Alex Fox, and a large group of motorcyclists.
According to LeMans President Mike Collins, the event featured a huge turnout of LeMans employees who registered for and received complimentary wristbands for the day of racing and good times with friends and colleagues.
“Blackhawk Farms is a beautiful venue, the weather was perfect and the racing exciting. Only 35 minutes from Janesville, it was a great opportunity to spend some fun time with our employees and their families, many of whom had never been to a motorcycle race of any kind,” Collins said. “The question I was being asked at the end of the day was, ‘Can we do more of these?’ For me, like the other enthusiasts attending, there’s nothing better than sharing our passion with friends and family who have never experienced motorcycle competition and camaraderie.”

PARTS CANADA EXPANDS INTO LARGER FACILITY
NEW CALGARY WAREHOUSE PROVIDES RANGE OF BENEFITS TO DEALERS
Since first opening in 1999 Parts Canada has continually expanded, outgrowing locations as the years passed on. Now, Parts Canada – Drag Specialties is proud to announce its latest move and the official opening of its new western distribution centre in Calgary, Alberta.
The new warehouse in Calgary offers more than 190,000 square feet of usable space, with 27 loading docks. Combined with the 170,000 square foot warehouse in London, Ontario, Parts Canada now has more than 360,000 square feet of space available for shipping, receiving and inventory stocking that is serviced by a combined 52 loading docks.
This incredible capacity makes it possible for Parts Canada to serve its dealers more efficiently than any other Canadian distributor. And with increased docks in Calgary offering more outbound service, it supports the western regions with quicker turn-around times and offers better solutions for next-day regional service.

CANADA WAREHOUSE
Parts Canada can now carry even more brands, parts and accessories. The new location features new automation for more efficient shipping processes.
Parts Canada previously managed approximately 70 percent of its inventory in London, Ontario, but with the new facility in operation it will split the inventory evenly, with 40 percent more SKUs now shipping out of Calgary than before. The move also means that Parts Canada can carry even more brands, parts and accessories; impressive news given the record amount already carried today with the company operating in all powersports segments as well as the E-Bike market. “More brands, more parts and more inventory, creates more opportunity and stronger fill rates, benefitting all of Parts Canada’s dealers as well as the consumers they sell to,” said Parts Canada President James Danyluk.
The new warehouse in Calgary will be largely automated like the current London warehouse. Picking by region and using automated pack-sized boxing machines reduces packaging waste and costs, as well as reduced freight costs. These savings are also passed down to the customer.
The Calgary location will also implement new automation with state-of-the-art robotic skid movers and pack-to-box picking technology, which eliminates one step of the shipping process. Again, benefiting customers with lower costs and quicker turn-around times from order to ship.
Parts Canada is dedicating the next 12 months to further development of automation and state-of-the-art technology
and is currently employing more people to facilitate this continued growth. “This expansion is just the beginning of the many great things to come to serve our valued customers and the powersports industry even better,” Danyluk said.
Parts Canada is owned by LeMans Corporation, the global leader in distribution for the powersports industry. It is proud to be in the company of Parts Unlimited, Parts Europe and Drag Specialties as well as the other brands that are all part of the grand vision of their late founder, Fred Fox. ■

MotoAmerica at Road America –Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin June 2-4
SERIES CLOCKS RECORD CROWDS FOR RACE WEEKEND
The 2023 MotoAmerica Championship headed into Elkhart Lake, Wisconsin for the Road America round and clocked record attendance for the series at the track. Spectators packed into the venue for six classes of racing, which was headlined by the Medallia Superbike Championship.
By the end of the second day back in June, the Superbike series saw Tytlers Cycle Racing’s Cameron Beaubier win race one on Saturday, with Parts Unlimited/Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati rider Josh Herrin stepping in to win his first race of the season and his ninth Superbike win of his career. The support classes were equally as exciting, featuring a range of crowd favorites like the Royal Enfield Build. Train. Race. and Steel Commander Stock 1000 series to the eyepopping, V-Twin-centric Mission King of the Baggers series.
RACE ONE
A near off-track excursion in turn three on the opening lap of the Medallia Superbike race dropped BMW/Tytlers Cycle Racing’s Cameron Beaubier back in the thick of the pack, but it didn’t stop him from working his way to the front and ultimately scoring his second race win of the season.
After completing lap one in sixth, while pole sitter Josh Herrin and his Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati Panigale V4 R streaked away at the front of the field, Beaubier put his head down and started his charge. On lap two, Beaubier was fourth and a lap later he was third.
He stayed there for two more laps before passing his teammate PJ Jacobsen and chasing down Herrin. Beaubier took the lead on the sixth lap and two laps later the race was red flagged when a blown engine oiled the racing surface. At that point the race was called complete with Beaubier 2.7 seconds clear of Jacobsen, who forced his way past Herrin and into second the lap prior.
Beaubier not only won his 11th career Superbike race at Road America (and 56th of his Superbike career), but he also took over the lead of the 2023 MotoAmerica Medallia Superbike Championship at the time when Fresh N Lean Progressive Yamaha Racing’s Jake Gagne suffered a mechanical issue that knocked him out of the race and the points lead.
Herrin held on for third place after earning pole position with a new lap record in qualifying on Saturday morning.
RACE TWO
Going into the second MotoAmerica Medallia Superbike race on Sunday, Parts Unlimited’s Herrin had won AMA Superbike races on two different makes of motorcycles –Yamaha and Suzuki. That day he added Ducati to that list as the Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati rider rode his Panigale V4 R to his first victory of the season and the ninth Superbike win of his career.
Herrin led from the start and then tussled with Tytlers Cycle Racing’s Beaubier in the early laps until Beaubier’s BMW M 1000 RR suffered a mechanical failure that put him out of the race. From there Herrin withstood the constant pressure from a second Tytlers Cycle Racing BMW ridden by PJ Jacobsen.
But Herrin was fast, consistent, and mostly mistake-free en route to a 2.01-second win over Jacobsen after 12 laps of the four-mile Road America circuit. The win came in front of a MotoAmerica record three-day crowd of 41,000 spectators at “America’s National Park of Speed.”
Jacobsen finished second for the second straight day after crossing the finish line some eight seconds ahead of Fresh N Lean Progressive Yamaha Racing’s Jake Gagne.
As of press time immediately after the MotoAmerica round at Brainerd International Raceway, Gagne led the series’ points run with 262 points, followed by Herrin at 194 and Beaubier rounding up third with 183 points.

ROYAL ENFIELD BUILD. TRAIN. RACE. –MOORE SIMPLY UNSTOPPABLE
Nineteen-year-old Mikayla Moore simply dominated the opening round of the Royal Enfield Build. Train. Race. series at Road America with a 17.206-second victory over last year’s championship runner-up Crystal Martinez.
“So, in FP1 I ended up doing three minutes and two seconds (lap time),” Moore said. “That was my best, and then in qualifying two I got it down to a 2:56. I had to make some suspension changes, especially in the rear, and it definitely helped a lot.”
Defending series champion Kayleigh Buyck had a mechanical problem that dropped her out of second place early
in the race. By the time the checkered flag dropped it was Moore with the win, followed by Crystal Martinez in second place and Sonya Lloyd in third.
The 12 ladies of the Royal Enfield Build. Train. Race. program again kicked off the second race on Sunday, and Moore was victorious once again.
25 SEPTEMBER 2023 ★ PARTS MAGAZINE
This was pretty much every rider’s view of Parts Unlimited/Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati’s Josh Herrin in the second Medallia Superbike race at Road America.
Parts Unlimited/Ducati rider Josh Herrin won his first victory of the season and the ninth Superbike win of his career at Road America.
Nineteen-year-old Mikayla Moore celebrated back-to-back wins at the opening round of the Royal Enfield Build. Race. Train. series in Elkhart Lake. At race two on Sunday, she was joined on the podium by Kayleigh Buyck in second and Aubrey Credaroli in third.
Mikala Moore leads Kayleigh Buyck (#1), Sonya Lloyd (#28), Aubrey Credaroli (#37) and Ashley Truxal (#31) on the way to her second Royal Enfield Build. Train. Race. victory at Road America.
However, this time, 2022 champion Buyck, who suffered a mechanical problem in race one and was unable to finish, came back on Sunday to finish second and a little under 12 seconds behind Moore. Completing the podium was Aubrey Credaroli, who was another 9 seconds behind Buyck.
“I’m still finding a little bit of bike setup during the race, but other than that, I just kept consistent. Made sure I hit all my lines, hit all my marks, and I’m glad these ladies are up here with me,” Moore said. “Not going to lie, going onto the straightaway I could see the big screen, and I was watching. I was like, ‘Oh, there’s a battle going on back there.’”
Thanks to subsequent victories at BTR rounds at Ridge Motorsports Park in Washington state and Brainerd International Raceway in Minnesota, Moore finds herself in the points lead for the BTR series. That perfect season thus far puts her at 125 points, with number Sonya Lloyd at 78 points and Crystal Martinez in third place at 67 points.
SUPERSPORT –FORES KEEPS HIS WINNING STREAK
It’s safe to say that Spaniard Xavi Fores loves racing in MotoAmerica. The Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati rider is undefeated so far this season, and he added more Supersport victories to his record at Road America. Incidentally, Fores began his first MotoAmerica season with more consecutive
race victories than any other first-year rider in the history of the series.
In race one, Fores and his Ducati Panigale V2 crossed the finish line just under 3/10ths of a second ahead of Tytlers Cycle Racing Kawasaki’s Stefano Mesa. For Mesa, it was his third podium of the year. Also recording his third podium result of the season was Squid Hunter Racing’s Josh Hayes, who was third aboard his Yamaha.
The next day on Sunday, Fores earned another win in race two – which made five in a row at the time for the season. Fores battled throughout the race with Tytlers Cycle Racing’s Stefano Mesa with the Floridian coming up just .399 of a second short after the run up the hill to the finish line.
Third place went to Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki’s Tyler Scott with the youngster topping Squid Hunter Racing’s Josh Hayes by a tick over a second.
Fores continue his winning ways in the round at Ridge Motorsports Park and then again at Weathertech Raceway Laguna Seca in Monterey, California at the Superbike Speedfest of Monterey. After the MotoAmerica round at Brainerd International Raceway, Fores continued to lead the points run with 259 points at press time. Pulling up in second in the points was Hayes with 168 points , and then Mesa with 161 points.

At a track that favors horsepower, the Steel Commander Stock 1000 class delivers it in spades. In race one, Orange Cat Racing’s Ezra Beaubier exploited the impressive power of his BMW M 1000 RR and won his third race of the year.
Second place, and also riding a BMW M 1000 RR, went to Travis Wyman Racing’s Travis Wyman. The surprise of the race was Wyman’s younger brother Cody, who was pressed into action as a last-minute fill-in rider for the injured Brandon Paasch on the Altus Motorsports Suzuki. Cody, who had never before raced in the Steel Commander Stock 1000 class or aboard a Suzuki GSX-R1000R, rounded out the podium in third.
Despite struggling with the setup of his Travis Wyman Racing BMW, Travis not only qualified in the pole position in both Steel Commander Stock 1000 and finishing in second in race one, he came back in race two and claimed victory.
Travis won the race over Orange Cat Racing’s Kaleb De Keyrel, who was also aboard a BMW and just a little over two seconds behind Wyman. Third place went to Disrupt Racing Suzuki rider Hayden Gillim.
As of press time, Ezra Beaubier was ahead in the standings with 145 points, followed by Gillim at 137, and De Keyrel at 133 points. ■

THE CHASE FOR THE MOTOAMERICA MEDALLIA SUPERBIKE CHAMPIONSHIP

Race fans are in for a treat if the second half of the MotoAmerica Medallia Superbike Championship is anything like the first. The championship hit its first half at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca.
The three main protagonists in the championship as of press time continued to be the top three with two-time and defending Medallia Superbike Champion Jake Gagne, five-time champion Cameron Beaubier and 2013 champion Josh Herrin holding forth at the top of the championship. Of the 11 races in the books at the halfway point, Gagne and Beaubier had won five races apiece with Herrin winning the only race not won by those two. That translates to winners of eight of the past 10 Superbike Championships battling it out for the 2023 title.
With 39 points separating the top three and 225 points still up for grabs, it’s going to be interesting. To spice things up even more, the title chase is also a battle between three manufacturers with Yamaha (Gagne) vs. BMW (Beaubier) vs. Ducati (Herrin).
While Herrin has won just one race, he’s the only one in the top three who has scored points in every round. Gagne, meanwhile, has a lone non-score and Beaubier has two nonfinishes and one race where he crashed and scored just nine points. Those three negatives on Beaubier’s scorecard are basically the difference between him and Gagne.
Gagne arrived at the halfway point with five victories and 10 total podiums with his latest victory coming in the first
of three Medallia Superbike races at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca. Fresh N Lean Progressive Yamaha Racing’s Gagne was in the right place at the right time in that one as his teammate Cameron Petersen crashed while leading the pack on the opening lap. With nowhere to go, Beaubier struck Petersen’s Yamaha YZF-R1 and crashed, taking two of the stars out of the race on the opening lap. Gagne went on to win by 5.3 seconds over Warhorse HSBK Racing Ducati’s Herrin with PJ Jacobsen finishing third.
It was Tytlers Cycle Racing’s Beaubier who won race two and three at Laguna Seca by 2.4 seconds over Gagne in race two and by .6 of a second over Herrin in race two. Gagne crossed the line second in race three but was given a two-second time penalty for exceeding track limits.
The two wins in Monterey were Beaubier’s fourth and fifth victories of the season as he tries to make up ground in the championship from his two non-finishes. Herrin, meanwhile, had seven straight podium finishes and eight total top-three finishes.
Fourth place in the championship heading into the second half of the season was Richie Escalante, the Vision Wheel M4 ECSTAR Suzuki rider scoring points in every round thus far in his sophomore season in the Medallia Superbike class. Escalante clocked four straight fourth-place finishes as he sneaked closer to what will be his first-ever Superbike podium. ■

Not long after the new millennium began, Parts Unlimited expanded its involvement in motorcycle racing with support and involvement reaching some individual competitors, teams, specific events and some entire season series, such as Supercross. As sponsor of the 2002 AMA EA Sports Supercross Series, the Parts Unlimited Dealer VIP program became part of the full 16-race schedule.
Readers new to the industry and sport might not know that unlike the current format in Supercross and motocross where four-stroke 250cc and 450cc machines are used, back in the early 2000s, the motorcycles were two-stroke powered, and the entry level class was limited to 125cc and the premier class was for 250cc machines.
The early 2000s also saw Parts Unlimited get involved in AMA roadracing. Then distinctive Parts Unlimited logo was seen not only on the team Erion Racing Honda team, but

Moose Racing was becoming the leader in the other off-road segments, including Enduro, Hare Scrambles, GNCC, and the prestigious International Six Days team competitions. Moose had an advantage with 8-time ISDE Gold Medalist and 8-time AMA Enduro champion Dick Burleson as its chief technical advisor.
Meanwhile, THOR-clad riders were focused mainly on Supercross and motocross. 2003 was a significant season for THOR.
Early in the season, THOR riders Ezra Lusk, Chad Reed and Tim Ferry delivered a first ever 1-2-3 sweep of the 250cc Supercross podium for THOR and Parts Unlimited. Reed continued to finish well and ended the season with the 250cc Supercross title. In the 125cc motocross series, South African transplant Grant Langston

LEMANS LAUNCHES NEW RANGE OF E-BIKES
iGO ELECTRIC MODELS OFFER MORE
OPTIONS
FOR MORE RIDERS
Expanding on the company’s already substantial E-Bike offerings, LeMans Corporation – parent company of Parts Unlimited and Drag Specialties –has partnered with iGO Electric to offer a range of seven new E-Bike models exclusively for its dealers.
Thanks to the new partnership, Parts Unlimited and Drag Specialties dealers will now be able to offer their customers a wide selection of iGO E-Bike models as well as a host of OE replacement parts and complementary accessories. The iGO line joins the rapidly expanding Bicycle catalog alongside the full suspension INTENSE Tazer MX electric mountain bikes and the full selection of parts, accessories and apparel offered by some of the leading vendors in the E-Bike market.
Dealers attending the North American NVP Product Expo in Madison, Wisconsin got their first look at the range of E-Bikes, which includes two step-through Urban/Leisure models, two hybrid Urban/Leisure models, an all-road E-trekking model, a hardtail electric mountain bike, and a fat-tire hardtail electric mountain bike. The models are the Discovery Rosemont LE, the Discovery Rosemont LS, the Discovery Yorkville LE, the Discovery Yorkville LS, the Outland Cabot RS, the Outland Sawback RS, and the Outland Torngat RS.
“The lineup allows us to fulfill the needs of urban commuter bicycle riders, and all terrain riders who don’t desire a full
suspension INTENSE model,” said LeMans buyer Nicholas Shepherd. “It’s a range of bicycles that are built well, serviceable and compatible with a major portion of the current Bicycle catalog offerings.”
With the seven-bike lineup, Parts Unlimited and Drag Specialties dealers can reach more customers with a variety of iGO models that are competitively priced, suitable for all ages, sizes and riding styles. The lineup’s “One Size Fits Most” design means an easy level of inventory management for dealers.
The line is also designed to complement the INTENSE Tazer MX range since there is no direct competing model. The bikes are backed by iGO’s noted easy serviceability, factory warranty and direct customer service. With 17 years experience, iGO Electric is a Canadian E-Bike company building high-quality purpose built electric bikes at an accessible price.
One major feature of the iGO line is that it is extremely versatile when it comes to the various classifications under which E-Bikes operate – Class 1, Class 2 and Class 3. For example, Class 1 E-Bikes feature a pedal-assist motor that can reach speeds up to 20 mph; Class 2 E-Bikes feature a throttle which provides a boost without pedaling up to 20 mph; and Class 3 E-Bikes that are pedal-assist up to 28 mph.
With any E-Bike, batteries are a major part of the setup, that’s why each of the iGO bikes features an industry-leading 720Wh Samsung removable battery. With that 720Wh capacity, your customers are less likely to experience “range anxiety” whether they’re commuting to work, hitting their city’s bike trails, shopping or simply out enjoying two

wheels. Their integrated design helps with stable, smoother ride while a security lock keeps things buttoned down.
Thanks to the Multi-Class Switchable System, customers can easily switch between the three classes via a smartphone app. With the iGO mobile app, customer can create adjustable, customizable performance profiles for a truly unique, and personalized on-road and off-road feel for riders. And when it comes to the pedal assist feature of these bikes, the iGO models feature five-levels of assist — Eco, Tour, Sport, Turbo, and Boost.
The app also provides motor and controller updates to ensure the bikes are performing at the top of their abilities. The app features a dynamic in-wide dashboard showing key information like speed, power and battery life, and tracks riding trends and ride analytics. It can even be used
for navigation and allows system diagnostics. Dealership techs can also access the iGO app to review bike-riding history, maintenance issues, battery health and other trouble-shooting features.
“The beauty of iGO is that is the perfect bike for someone that may not consider themselves a bike rider,” said Mike Ralph, E-Bike Category Manager for Parts Unlimited. “They are comfortable, simple to learn, and can change minds about what it means go ride a bike. Getting around town is fun, getting off-road is easy and the budget leaves a lot to fund your customers’ other adventures.”

BRING ON THE E-BIKES
For dealers who are already operating in the E-Bike space, carrying the INTENSE Tazer MX line and offering products from the Bicycle catalog, or for those looking to jump into the market, the addition of the iGO Electric seven-bike range offers an attractive proposition.
Not only does the iGO range feature models that fit all related powersports customers, it also offers a more “consumer oriented” product line for those customers out there simply looking to jump onto an E-Bike, either for commuting or recreation — or both. With the addition of the iGO OE replacement parts, it even answers the serviceability question for a new selection of vehicles.
And now would be a great time to add another two-wheeled option to your store’s product lineup. According to a 2022 study commissioned by the bicycle advocacy group People for Bikes, 34 percent of Americans actively ride their bikes, a number up from previous years. And, as cities across the country work to create better biking infrastructure, more riders are using their bikes as transportation (54 percent) than ever before.
Of course, for those dealers looking to expand their E-Bike range or add on a new vehicle segment, the keys to success are the same — they should be dedicating resources to the category such as staff training and floor space, says Mike Ralph. They should also be willing to put in time and effort to nurture a new category, he adds. Of course, as it is with the powersports business, putting some passion behind the product also helps.
“The absolute best way to incorporate an E-Bike line into your business is to share the experience,” Ralph says. “This can be as simple as creating a safe parking lot test ride to leading off-road adventures.”
As the general manager of Carl’s Cycle Sales in Boise, Idaho, Chris Kasel knows a thing or two about adding on an E-Bike line. The multiline dealership has carried E-Bikes for about three years, adding the INTENSE line right when Parts Unlimited launched its Bicycle catalog, in addition to bringing on some models from the OEMs. Before jumping in, Kasel says the dealership knew that there was already a built-in demand from its customer base and the store itself had several employees — including the owner — who were cyclists on both regular pedal bikes and pedal assist bikes. It was also helpful that Boise is known as an active bicycling community and there’s a really good trail network in the Treasure Valley.
“We knew it was going to be a good fit. We had six or eight guys here who ride weekly,” he says. “I think that’s one of the reasons why we’ve been so successful, it’s a passion like with the powersports side. We have guys who ride and can connect with the customers.”
Having enthusiasts on staff is essential fostering a successful E-Bike line he says, adding that those employees who are excited about the products and actively use them are important for educating customers who may have never been on a pedalassist (or otherwise) E-Bike before.
“With pedal assists, one of the first steps is to get people on the bikes. If they’ve never been on one, they really don’t understand,” he says. “But, if they can go ride one in the parking lot for a bit, they come back with a smile on their face, going, ‘Wow.’”

After an injury in 2021 threatened to derail his career, Moose Racing/ Yamaha’s Brycen Neal came back to win the 2022 GNCC ATV Championship. For the 2023 season he’s heading into the final rounds with sizable point lead in the championship.
Heartbreakers and Checkers Takers
BRYCEN NEAL FINDS ALL THE PUZZLE PIECES
FOR BECOMING A GNCC CHAMPION
You’re not always on top. Sometimes you’re in the valley and the world is cold.” These sage words weighed much heavier one year ago when Moose Racing/Yamaha rider Brycen Neal thought the 2022 GNCC ATV Overall Championship could slip through his fingers for the second year in a row.
A mechanical issue following a first-lap crash at the Snowshoe GNCC saw his sizeable points gap evaporate, and the title fight would go all the way down to the final round, ending in a dead tie. On account of more wins throughout the season, Neal earned the title he had been chasing since 2020.
The world for Neal is bright and sunny today, the affable 28-year-old athlete speaking with the lightness of someone heading into the summer break with a 47-point lead in the championship. Although three rounds still remain on the calendar, and Neal isn’t counting any chickens just yet, the contrast from one year ago to today is a win in itself.
“One of my proudest accomplishments this year was getting redemption on the mountain at Snowshoe,” Neal says. “To have a complete 180 from last year to this year at summer break, it’s very nice. Honestly, last year was very stressful.”
Eyes in the GNCC ATV crowd have been on Neal since he started winning races three years ago, but from a hot streak at the end of the 2020 season, to a “checkers or wreckers” mentality fueling a torrid season in 2021, Neal had an even more significant 180 – this one in his mental game. The shift only came after a devastating knee injury that ended his run at the 2021 title, and threatened to derail his career.
“I was winning the third race in a row, and me and a lapped rider came together when I was trying to make a pass on him,” Neal recalls. “I got shot into the back of an F-150 pickup truck. I was able to finish the race, but I couldn’t stand up. I knew something was wrong. When I got checked out, I got the bad news that my season was over.”

It was during this time that fellow Moose Racing GNCC racer Steward Baylor reached out to Neal and connected him with Ben Greenwood, a man who helped Baylor rehabilitate his knee. It was during his rehab, and through his relationship with Greenwood that Neal was not only able to heal his knee, but also able to refocus his outlook on training, racing and life.
“I came out a whole different rider. I was more mature, more resilient and stronger than ever. Ben and I really clicked from day one,” he says. “He’s taught me so many things about rehabilitation and strength training. It’s honestly crazy to think, but in the grand scheme of things, [my knee injury] was probably one of the best things to happen. I learned a lot last year and I brought that into this season, and 2023’s been a pretty great year. I believe five out of nine wins.”
With his health, and his perspectives now in the right place, Neal seems all but unstoppable. In the handful of times he hasn’t won this season (aside from one mechanical issue at the Tiger Run GNCC), Neal managed to land on the podium. After three seasons of having the speed, Neal now has the key to the big picture – consistency.
“In 2020 and 2021, I was the fastest guy on the track when I was clicking,” Neal says. “I had parts of the game figured out, but when I came back last year, I put the entire puzzle together. I was able to be super-bad fast, but also super consistent. That has been the big change for me.”
On his way to mastering the puzzle, those moments of being in the cold valleys of the world have underscored the value of surrounding himself with the right people in the pursuit of his goals.
“I’ve had a great relationship with the Moose Racing family and Parts Unlimited. They’ve backed me for many years now,” he says. “It’s one of those things that’s so effortless, you can just pick up the phone, shoot a text, an email, the relationships just flow. They’re so happy, upbeat, they got good people, working under both companies, and probably the best thing is, honestly, the quality of the gear.”
Now with the Phoenix Racing Yamaha team for 2023, Neal also attributes a big part of his success to team owner David Eller and his Phoenix Racing teammates Joel Hetrick and Grayson Eller.
“David took me under his wing and we’ve developed a really great relationship and I’m very happy to be a part of their team,” Neal says. “We’ve had conversations about how it’s one thing to win a championship, but another thing to win multiple championships and keep going.”
Based on his season so far, it seems Neal and the Moose Racing-backed Phoenix Racing team are poised to do just that in the closing rounds of the 2023 GNCC season. Stay tuned – Neal is the one to watch! ■

Competitive Design
High-Performance Off-Road Racewear
Since its debut in 2020, Moose Racing’s Agroid racewear line has become a popular choice among pro racers and casual riders alike. The high-performance jerseys and pants are designed to give riders premium comfort, even in the toughest, most competitive environments.
Now, Moose Racing has released the Fall 2023 Agroid racewear line, with new colorways and graphics. In all, there are six new color and graphic combinations to choose from, and sizing ranges from S to 3XL for both the jerseys and the pants.
Racing has been a part of the Agroid line’s DNA since the start. Moose Racing set out to design jerseys and pants that would excel in competition. That meant the pieces had to provide ease of movement, cooling properties and a professional look.
As a result, the Agroid line features lightweight, flexible materials combined with athletic styling. Riders have a full range of motion on the bike, but the cut of each piece is designed not to be bulky or oversized. Premium details were added to ensure top quality, like the sublimated graphics that won’t fade, no matter how many times the gear goes through the wash.
Since the team at Moose Racing designed the Agroid line with racing in mind, top professional off-road riders were involved throughout the development process. Racers would field-test the pieces at the track or on the trail, then provide feedback to Moose Racing about what worked and what didn’t. The Agroid designs were refined until they were ideally suited to the needs of off-road racers.
When it comes to proving how good a product is, there’s no better way to do it than by showing off what it can do at a race. Moose Racing has a stable of sponsored racers who put the Agroid racewear through the wringer each weekend, riding in every kind of off-road discipline, every kind of weather and every kind of track or trail conditions. Among those sponsored riders is a group of accomplished ATV racers. Race fans can see the Agroid gear in action on ATV pros like Steven Harrell, Joel Hetrick, Jarod McClure, Adam McGill, Brycen Neal, Brayden Owens, Kate Osburn, Cole Richardson, and Ronnie Rusch. These racers count on the Agroid racewear every weekend, and the premium features ensure they stay cool and comfortable.
The Agroid jersey is made from a lightweight stretch polyester. It dries quickly, which helps wick sweat away from the rider’s body. Laser-cut ventilation holes provide plenty of airflow to keep things cool.

RIDING APPAREL
Moose Racing counted on feedback from professional riders like 2022 GNCC ATV XC1 champion Brycen Neal when developing the 2024 Agroid line.
The stretch mini-cuffs are designed to keep the sleeves in place without being binding, so everything stays put while still providing a full range of motion. There’s a stretch collar designed for soft, non-binding comfort, too.
The Agroid jersey is also ideally suited to hydration packs. The back and shoulder are designed with channels for hydration pack hoses, so a hose will stay neatly in place.
The Agroid pants also feature laser-cut ventilation holes to help keep air flowing over the rider’s body. The sublimated graphics of both the jersey and pants are breathable, too, so the bright colors don’t hinder heat dissipation.
Each pair of Agroid pants begins with a durable stretch woven polyester that is lightweight yet tough. Stretch ripstop polyester panels on the knees and seat add an extra layer of durability, as do the full-grain leather knee panels. At the same time, there are carefully designed stretch panels in the knees that allow the pants to fit easily over knee braces or guards while still maintaining a slim, athletic look. A three-point waist adjustment system further enhances the fit.
Thanks to careful design and all the development input from racers, the Agroid racewear is a premium-level line of gear that is ideal for everyone from pro racers to riders at every level of the sport. The comfort, quality and design all combine to make the Agroid racewear a popular option for off-road riders of every style, whether they’re on a bike or an ATV, riding the trails or hitting the track.
Moose Racing offers a full line of off-road apparel. The Agroid racewear line is the high-performance option ideal for extreme riding conditions. When it’s especially hot out, Moose Racing’s Sahara gear is the way to go, since that line is designed for maximum ventilation to combat the hottest of riding days. Riders looking for entry-level gear that doesn’t sacrifice quality can explore the Qualifier line, which is offered in sizes up to 5X in the jersey and 54 in the pants ■

A combined 750,000 ATVs and side-by-sides were sold in 2022, a figure coming on the heels of the Coronaviruspandemic fueled buying spree of 2020 when consumers were eager for outdoor recreation.
In that year alone, both the domestic UTV and ATV vehicle segments hit new sales records, with ATV sales ratcheting up more than 30 percent over 2019, according to research performed by Minnesota-based Power Products Marketing (PPM).

NOW IS THE TIME FOR PARTS, ACCESSORIES AND APPAREL
Leading the pack in 2022 ATV sales was Honda, followed by Polaris, Yamaha, Can-Am, Suzuki, and Kawasaki. For the side-by-side sales in 2022, Polaris continued to lead the market, followed by Can-Am, Kawasaki, John Deere and Honda.
The latter reflects the split in the UTV market with consumer applications accounting for 90 percent of sales, while commercial uses looked to be responsible for the other 10 percent, reports PPM.
However you slice it up, thanks to those multiple years of sales success for ATVs and UTVs there are a lot of vehicles out there needing accessory upgrades and replacement parts such as tires, clutch components, lighting, and, of course, go-fast products.

Whether they’re used for farming, getting around a job site, hunting, plowing or some other kind of work, these vehicles need specialized equipment to help them get the job done well. Moose Utility Division stands ready to equip ATV and UTV customers with quality, practical solutions for getting tasks done. And, as products like the new black-out series LED light bars and the 545X wheel prove, aftermarket products built for work can also add a touch of style.
Moose Utility Division designed the black-out series LED light bars to be sleek and efficient. Their ultra-smooth appearance includes no exposed fasteners on the surface, so these pieces blend in well with the lines of the vehicle. The lights themselves use high-efficiency Osram LED Chips for maximum brightness. Because the lighting system is indirect, it’s a lot easier to get the placement just right. There’s a combination beam that creates a spotlight as well as a flood light on each end of the light bar, and the 6,000k bright white light output ensures the way ahead is brightly illuminated.
Moose Utility Division is offering the black-out series LED light bars in a range of lengths to give customers plenty of mounting options. The smallest is just 3-inches long, and the longest is 40 inches. In all, there are six lengths to choose from.
Each light bar comes with end-mount and sliding adjustable mounts, a wiring harness and an in-dash backlit rocker switch.
The 545X wheel is capable of hard work, but it’s so sporty that it actually has Moose Racing branding on it. Designed for both ATV and UTV applications, the 545X wheel has been a popular seller because of that “best of both worlds” design. Now, customers have the option of buying it in a bronze finish.
The aggressive styling of the wheel is designed to hold up under pressure out on a trail or work site, but it is put to the test long before it ever gets mounted on a vehicle. Like all the other wheels available from Moose Utility Division and Moose Racing, every single 545X wheel is X-rayed on the production line to ensure it’s a quality, reliable part that will hold up on the go.
The new bronze finish joins black and gray as the choices for the 545X wheel. Each one arrives with the center caps, and there’s a lug nut kit available separately with 16 lug nuts and four valve stems. ■

Talking Through It In-Car Communications for UTVs
One of the most enjoyable aspects of owning a UTV, besides driving it, of course, is the process of modification. Some customers go after modifications for style first and others for performance, but something that can quickly improve the experience for drivers and passengers is in-car communication, an upgrade proudly offered by NavAtlas.
Laying into the throttle up hills and over rocks isn’t quite like cruising down the highway in the tow rig. The ability for drivers and passengers to communicate back and forth clearly and easily during rides can not only create a more fun experience for everyone, but it also enables collaboration when navigating difficult obstacles or calling out potential dangers ahead.
Building on its strong foundation in audio manufacturing, NavAtlas made a seamless transition into off-road communication with a range of purpose-built products. For in-car communication, NavAtlas offers two different sized intercoms that bring high-end sound quality directly to the ears of every passenger.
Each of these two or four passenger stereo intercoms provide crisp, clear sound quality through a system of headsets linked through a stereo intercom unit. Not only do these systems enable seamless conversation amongst passengers, but riders can enjoy their favorite music through the headsets as well.
To cover a wide variety of vehicles and use applications for your customers, NavAtlas offers three types of headsets, including in-helmet, behind-the-head and over-the-head designs. In-helmet headsets are ideal for customers wearing helmets on their UTV rides, while the behind-the-head and over-the-head variations can be useful for almost any other off-road adventure.
Regardless of style, each headset features passive noise canceling to drown out external distractions and include a voice-activated boom mic with adjustable sensitivity. Plus, customers can activate push-to-talk and volume adjustability with over-the-head and behind-the-head models.
All NavAtlas powersports communication components are designed and built with materials resistant to weather, dirt and other elements so your customers don’t have to worry about losing communication as conditions change. These components tie in nicely with NavAtlas’ high-quality radios as well, enabling car-to-car communication, another critical component for an enhanced off-road experience. NavAtlas communication systems are available in convenient kits from Parts Unlimited, including many pre-kitted
options for two and four passengers in several variations of headset style, color, radio equipment and more, helping you give your customers the exact option they need. ■

Triple Threat Headlight Upgrades for UTVs
Charging through trails after sunset behind the wheel of a performance UTV can get the adrenaline pumping. Whether it’s for competition or for fun, night outings are guided only by the moonlight above and the vehicle’s headlights in front of you. This is why the vehicle lighting experts at Heretic Studio have developed a line of improved UTV headlights to shine a beam of light on the dark of the night.
Many UTV customers may be quick to turn to bolting on an auxiliary light bar for their lighting upgrade, but why not pay attention to the areas of the car designed to provide light first? Heretic Studio replacement headlight assemblies for UTVs are designed and built in the USA with careful attention to providing incredible visibility and long-lasting durability. Plus, they are a much easier option for customers to install with plug-and-play functionality.
The lights are available for Can-Am Maverick X3 and Polaris RZR Pro XP, Pro R and Turbo R models. Heretic Studio UTV headlights begin with model-specific frames featuring billet construction that’s precision CNC-machined from aircraft grade aluminum. These frames are designed and built for a factory-like fit in the OE headlight housing location. Secured inside each of the headlight frames are three of Heretic Studio’s proven LED cylinders that come wired-up and ready to plug into the OEM harnesses.
These LED cylinders are where the lighting performance really shines, using 120-watt, high-quality CREE LED chips that deliver a combined 14,400 lumens of light to create clear and bright beams. With this upgrade, your customers will experience eye-opening visibility in virtually any condition, from darkness to fog and even dust.
Each light features a precision, CNC-machined billet housing that boasts abundant cooling fins, playing a
critical role in heat management for the lights. These cooling fins, combined with Heretic Studio’s self-regulating circuit boards, create highly efficient heat transfer, allowing each light to function at full capacity during extended use.
The inner most LED cylinder of each headlight assembly features a flood-style lens design, while the other two cylinders feature powerful spot beam lenses and reflectors. Each of these are also available with amber lenses for improved dust visibility. Combined, this helps deliver a thorough lighting pattern the fills dark voids to the sides of the car as well as long distances down the trail, in any conditions.
An additional benefit of having three individual light cylinders in each headlight is the extensive adjustability, allowing your customers to truly personalize their headlight beam delivery to their driving preferences, ensuring optimized visibility in every situation.
Heretic Studio offers a lifetime warranty on all its lights. Help your customers equip their UTV for anything the night may bring. ■

Spring and Valving Upgrades Improved Ride Quality and Handling
Suspension Direct Inc (SDi) makes it easy to improve and maintain your customers’ side-byside suspensions through its line upgrade and rebuild components. From routine rebuilds to stiffer springs, new valving, and burlier radius rods and tie rods, SDi specializes in the parts your customers need.
A popular upgrade from SDi is a Performance or Heavy-Duty Spring Kit. If more load capacity is needed due to frequently driving with passengers or hauling heavy equipment, the Heavy-Duty Spring Kit offers stiffer coils that won’t sag under extra-large loads.
Drivers who are pushing the pace will appreciate the Performance Spring Kit, which corrects the stock spring rate and length to reduce bottoming while also improving ride quality in light chop. Each of the two Spring Kits come ready to install with tender springs, main springs, crossover rings (when applicable) and the necessary hardware to install.
Taking it a step further, SDi’s drop-in Valving Kits allow you to fine tune the damping of your customers’ shocks, which can improve all aspects of handling. Each Valving Kit consists of a base shim stack along with a hard-anodized piston and low friction band, as well as complete installation and tuning instructions. Valving Kits are currently available for Fox and Walker Evans shocks.
Increasing the strength and reliability of a side-by-side’s suspension is easy with SDi’s lineup of race-proven components. Its Heavy-Duty Billet Lower Shock Fork Shaft replaces and upgrades the stock component, which is a known issue on the current Polaris RZR Pro and Turbo R shocks. SDi’s radius rods and tie rods are a great option for replacing damaged stock parts or as an upgrade for better durability. Offered for the Can-Am X3, Honda Talon, Kawasaki Teryx, and Polaris RZR, these parts are built considerably beefier than stock, have flats on the rods for easier adjustment, and are race proven.
For routine shock rebuilds, SDi has complete kits with all the necessary seals and O-rings required to refresh well-used components. On-time suspension service is important for preserving a rig’s handling, so make sure you’re cluing your customers in to this important piece of maintenance.
Suspension Direct Inc is always innovating and pursuing new products and solutions for your customers’ SXS vehicles. From regular maintenance work to customized components that improve ride quality, handling, and durability, SDi is a go-to source. ■

More Seats, More Power A Turbo Kit
Some powersports vehicles are love at first sight. That’s how the team at S&S Cycle felt when Kawasaki introduced its Teryx KRX 1000. The KRX platform had it all – a great chassis, high-performance suspension and an outstanding drivetrain.
Well, there was one thing missing, and that was horsepower. S&S got to work correcting that by engineering a turbo kit for the KRX 1000. Now, S&S has a new turbo kit to boost the Teryx KRX4 1000, too.
This latest turbocharger kit takes the four-seater KRX4 to a whole new level of power and fun. Designed for racing and the most hardcore performance enthusiasts, S&S reports that the turbo kit gives the KRX4 a massive 50 percent
for the KRX4 1000
increase in horsepower, and the 0-60 time drops from the factory 11.5 seconds to a much more thrilling 6.2 seconds.
Back when the two-seater KRX 1000 debuted, S&S spent 18 months developing the turbo kit for it. The KRX’s naturally aspirated engine made a great starting point for boosting power, but it took a lot more than simply bolting on a turbo kit to get such big gains. The team at S&S reengineered the intake and fuel delivery systems to make sure the stock engine could handle the added power.
The kit also comes with replacement pistons. The stock ones get upgraded to forged 9:1 compression pistons that enable 10psi of boost. S&S redesigned the stock exhaust system, too, and the kit includes a Power Tune XTO muffler to top everything off.
Other items in the KRX4 turbocharger kit include a fan-cooled air-to-air intercooler, a pre-loaded PV3 tuner, a tuned plenum, larger injectors, a fuel rail, and a 3 Bar MAP sensor. As if that isn’t enough, all the mounting hardware and brackets are part of the package, too. There’s even more in the kit, but we just don’t have the room to list it all here!
If the S&S team is willing to dedicate 18 months to developing a turbo kit, then that means a lot of testing has gone into the product. This new turbo kit has undergone hundreds of hours of durability testing to give KRX4 customers peace of mind about taking their vehicle to the next level of performance.
The turbo kit comes professionally packaged, but that’s not just for looks. It’s easy to unpack and begin the installation process, making it as straightforward as possible to turn a factory KRX4 1000 into a true competitive machine. ■

Optimized for Off-Road
Oils for Bikes, ATVs and UTVs
Putting an off-road vehicle through its paces requires a high-quality oil that will keep everything running smoothly in even the toughest, dirtiest environments. LIQUI MOLY Motorbike oils and lubricants are formulated specifically for powersports, providing premium quality and superb engine performance for street and off-road motorcycles, as well as ATVs and UTVs.
For off-road riders who want oil they can trust to stand up to hard riding in tough conditions, LIQUI MOLY offers two different types of off-road oils. These oils are excellent choices for all off-road vehicles, including motorcycles, ATVs and UTVs.
LIQUI MOLY Motorbike Offroad 4T Synthetic 10W-40 Engine Oil can be trusted to provide optimal performance as well as premium engine protection. This fully synthetic formula was designed to meet the unique needs of offroad vehicles that are being used for everything from casual riding to competition.
The synthetic oil is ideal for keeping hard-running engines clean, and it has excellent friction behavior to reduce wear on the internal components. Shifting and clutching are smooth and easy, so riders can actually feel the improvement in performance.
For off-road motorcycle, ATV and UTV enthusiasts who prefer a 10W-50 oil, the LIQUI MOLY Motorbike Offroad
Race 4T Synthetic 10W-50 Engine Oil is a high-performance mineral motor oil that is all about longevity. Not only is there a long interval between the need for oil changes, but the formula’s wear-protection properties help extend the life of the engine.
As contaminants like soot get pulled into an oil system, they can gum up the oil and the engine’s operation. The mineral oil is designed to reduce the thickening those contaminants cause so the system continues to run smoothly and efficiently.
Oil consumption is also reduced with this mineral oil, so both lubrication and oil pressure remain optimal.
The LIQUI MOLY Motorbike Offroad 4T Synthetic 10W-40 Engine Oil and the LIQUI MOLY Motorbike Offroad Race 4T Synthetic 10W-50 Engine Oil are offered in 1-liter, 4-liter and 20-liter sizes. Customers will love the convenience of the smaller sizes, while the 20-liter options are great to have on hand in service bays. ■

Tread for Every Terrain Roll into Riding
Season with Fresh Tires
The M1 Evil tire from AMS features a unidirectional truck-like tread pattern and equal land/sea ratio that offers excellent handling and smooth rolling. It also has a durable radial design, with flexible-yet-tough sidewalls.
The 2023 riding season is in full swing and your customers are out getting in all the trips they can while the getting is good. Of course, riding means wearing out tires and your customers will need new rubber for their ATVs and UTVs, and as always AMS has affordable options for every type of terrain.
If your customers are looking for a durable, multi-purpose utility tire, the original M1 Evil is an easy choice. Riders love the M1 Evil’s unidirectional truck-like tread pattern and equal land/sea ratio that offers excellent handling and smooth rolling. They also love its rugged and durable radial design, with flexible-yet-tough sidewalls that help the M1 Evil conform to whatever terrain it rolls over.
With 1-inch-deep tread lugs the M1 Evil gets a grip on loose terrain, while careful tread placement still provides a smooth and controlled ride on hardpack. This tire is suitable for the front or rear of an ATV or UTV and is available in 6-ply and 8-ply designs.
For something that’s focused a little more toward hard pack, your customers should consider the M4 Evil. Modeled after the legendary M1 Evil, and using the same premium radial carcass construction, the M4 gets a few tweaks to give it better behavior on hard surfaces. That includes shorter ¾-inch tall non-directional lugs with dense spacing and rounded shoulder lugs for quieter operation, plus stiff sidewalls for load carrying capacity and direct steering response.
Both the M1 and M4 Evil use a natural rubber tread compound that has great durability and resists chunking, so choosing between the two really boils down to terrain and aesthetic preferences. The M1 is best for looser, softer

surfaces, while the M4 excels on smoother, firmer terrain, but both models offer the kind of all-around capability that makes them a great fit for a wide range of uses.
One riding scenario where your customers will definitely want more specialized rubber is in the sand, which is exactly where the Sand King tires rule. These tires have a wide profile for optimal float and feature carefully developed tread designs that are fine tuned to function in the sand.
All sizes of Sand King feature a front tire with a solid center rib flanked by two adjacent rib segments for precise steering control, while the rear tire is stacked with rows of 1-inch paddles that dig into the sand to put the horsepower to the ground.
AMS is a great source when your customers need new tires. Whether they are headed to the OHV park or just getting work done on the farm this summer, they can rely on AMS to provide them with quality tires at a great price. ■

Ready to Rumble Performance Exhaust Systems for UTVs
heighten with the development of its Mojave Eliminator series exhaust systems for popular performance UTVs.
Introduced for Can-Am Maverick X3, Honda Talon and Polaris RZR Pro XP and Turbo R models, this series was named with inspiration from Vance & Hines’ proving grounds in California’s Mojave Desert where the exhaust systems were tested, tweaked and tuned. Entering this project, Vance & Hines’ goal was to develop a UTV exhaust system that stood out among the rest in looks, performance, and of course, sound.
With one of these exhaust systems bolted on, the unique, race-inspired look will catch your eye before you even hear it rumble. Each Mojave Eliminator exhaust system features 4-inch, dual center-exit tips fitted with spark arrestors and encased in a custom, laser-cut rear guard that transforms the rear of the vehicle. The rear guards boast a heat-resistant black finish that accents the black exhaust tips and contrasts the stainless-steel construction nicely.
Behind the exhaust tips is a stainless-steel muffler featuring a fully mechanical internal design that provides a deep and powerful exhaust note. Its design also eliminates maintenance and the packed muffler provides miles and miles of riding without material degradation.
Vance & Hines engineers were able to balance sound and performance with regulation compliance, as each Mojave Eliminator exhaust system meets SAE J1287 sound standards and includes SAE J350 compliant spark arrestors. 1Systems for Honda Talon and Polaris RZR models are also 49-state emissions compliant while CanAm Maverick X3 2systems meet emissions compliance in all 50 states, giving your customers one less thing to worry about so they can focus on enjoying the trails ahead.
Installation is made simple and easy with the Mojave Eliminator series with precise fitment design. Each system mounts up to the factory header or down pipe and includes heavy-duty brackets and mounting hardware for a durable install ready to tackle tough terrain.
Whether the turbo is spooling or that high-compression engine is spinning to the moon, a Mojave Eliminator exhaust system checks all the boxes your customers have on the list for their off-road toy. ■

High-Tensile Toughness Chains Designed for Harsh Conditions
Modern ATVs are ridden hard in a variety of harsh environments. RK Chain has created several models of drive chains suitable for those machines and for the tough use to which they’re often subjected.
ATVs produce an increased amount of torque compared to motorcycles because they are moving two tires instead of one. This increased torque load places an intense amount of stress on the chain depending on the engine load, the terrain and even the tire features.
Choosing a chain that has been designed to be used on ATVs is extremely important when evaluating replacement ATV chains. In fact, Duncan Racing has relied on RK Chain for their team’s ATV chains needs for over a decade!
520EXW
One of RK Chain’s most popular ATV-rated chain is the 520EXW, which is an XW-Ring sealed chain and is a high-quality, high-speed, extreme heat performance ATV chain. RK’s XW-Ring seals features triple barrier grease protection, plus anti-debris technology to help eliminate debris friction between internal components.
EXW chains also feature specially designed sideplates that protect against thermal cracking, which can result from debris impinging the chain’s movement. The impingement causes the chain to quickly heat up and cool down in rapid succession. Over a period of time this can reduce the strength of the chain and/or cause a chain failure. Let your customers know it is vitally important to check their machines after a crash to make sure no debris is in contact with the chain.
The EXW is rated up to 750cc and has a max tensile strength rating of 7,700 ft/lbs. It is lightweight and is perfectly suitable for professional racing use. The EXW is a multi-function chain as it can also be used for enduro and GNCC motorcycle racing.
Currently Team FMF KTM Factory Racing is using GB520EXW in its off-road racing series. The EXW is available in Gold or Natural finish.
MAX X AND MAX O
RK Chain’s MAX X and MAX O are perfectly suitable for weekend warriors and riders who are not seeking a lightweight racing chain, but are still looking for performance. RK’s MAX series offers performance while being economically priced.
If customers want to increase the wear-life of their chain, while still wanting an economically priced product, RK offers the MAX X chain series. MAX X is designed to perform on ATVs, street and off-road machines.
With a tensile strength rating of 9,000 ft/lbs and a 750cc max cc rating, MAX X can handle all your ATV performance needs. The MAX X is available in Gold, Natural, Chrome, Black/Gold, Black/Chrome, Red, Blue, Green, Orange, Pink or Yellow.
The MAX O from RK is an O-ring sealed chain that is designed to perform for use on ATVs, street and off-road machines. The MAX O is rated up to 650cc and has a tensile strength rating of 8,500 ft/lbs. It is available in Gold or Natural finish. ■

Big and Burly Heavy-Duty UTV Replacement Parts
On Performance Machine’s knuckles, a double-shear setup is used so the rod end is supported from both sides for durability. On top of that, PM’s knuckles and bearing carriers are machined from solid hunks of 7075-T6 billet aluminum. Compared to the cast components, PM’s parts are considerably stronger since billet material is less susceptible to the casting defects that can cause cracks in the stock components on Can-Am X3 and Polaris RZR Turbo two-seater models. They also look great, with prominent machining marks and black anodizing.
When it comes time for service, PM’s parts have the bolt’s torque spec and sequence conveniently etched into the bearing-retaining ring. This retention ring, which uses eight 6mm bolts, is a lot more reliable than the factory C-clip. It’s yet another way that PM has remedied a weakness in the factory parts to help your customers build a tougher, more capable rig.
Outboard the wheel bearings, Performance Machine has an upgrade for the brakes on Honda’s Talon and Can-Am X3 with its Big Brake Kits. These kits upgrade the calipers and rotors to bring stronger, sharper, more consistent braking performance to your hard-charging customers.
Side-by-sides are meant to be rugged and adept off-road machines, yet many popular models have known OE weaknesses that make them vulnerable to damage or limit their capabilities. While most would see such shortcomings as a problem, Performance Machine sees an opportunity, and has applied its engineering genius to create better, burlier knuckles, bearing carriers, and brake assemblies for some of today’s most popular UTVs.
The rear knuckles on the Can-Am X3 and X3 Max models are good examples of problematic parts that PM has improved upon. On the stock assemblies, the middle radius-rod uses a single-shear mount, meaning the rod end is only supported from one side. This often leads to the holes rounding out, causing play.
Replacing the stock two- or single-piston calipers are massive four-piston parts. The caliper bodies are machined from aluminum and come equipped with premium DP brake pads as well as all necessary installation hardware. Complimenting the calipers are oversized 11½-inch, scallop-cut, semi-floating brake discs. PM’s design offers better heat dissipation and resists warping. The larger rotor diameter yields up to 35 percent more braking power for dramatically stronger stops.
The OE’s do the best they can to produce a quality product at a price point, but mass production often means there’s room for improvement. That’s where Performance Machine comes in with its vision for fully optimized components. ■

The XComp ATR
An Iconic All-Around ATV/UTV Tire
The powersports aftermarket has a number of products that have gained stellar reputations by providing an attractive combination of features and benefits. The XComp ATR tire from High Lifter Tire & Wheel is just such a product, offering style, traction, ride quality and durability. Those traits have helped make it High Lifter’s most popular ATV/UTV tire.
Praise for the XComp lauds it for its “amazing ride quality,” and that it offers “great cleanout for slightly muddier trails,” and that it’s an extremely quiet-riding tire.
The XComp garners that sort of praise thanks to performance that comes from careful development. To provide great load capacity, increased durability and a comfortable ride, the XComp uses automotive-grade radial construction. The ultra-burly 10-ply carcass has two steel belts that span from shoulder to shoulder, which permit the XComp to be highly compliant while also supporting heavy loads.
For a more precisely molded tire, HL builds the XComp using a two-stage process that yields better symmetry and roundness, giving the XComp excellent inherent balance for a smoother ride.
With all that technology on the inside, the XComp’s tough and unique tread pattern might just seem like an added bonus, but those lugs are critical to the tire’s most appealing attributes: Quietness, smoothness and longevity on hardpack surfaces. “It’s a multi-terrain, truckstyle tread,” says High Lifter Tire & Wheel’s director, Craig
Petersen. “While we originally thought we’d have a more open tread design, during development we realized we could close down the center tread to improve ride quality and durability, without impacting grip.”
While the tighter spacing of the XComp’s center tread give the tire good on-road manners, the open shoulder tread, square profile and sidewall lugs provide great bite on loose surfaces. Users report good traction on the trails and really good mileage – often as much as 10,000 miles. It’s a win-win.
With its DOT-rating, the XComp is an ideal choice for those who need to haul cargo into town or want to link together off-road routes via roads. And when the trail gets gnarly, so does the XComp.
“There’s a lot of flotation capability in the carcass,” says Petersen. “It’s actually really flexible as a result of that twostage construction with the steel belts, so you can run 12-15 PSI and get a ride that feels like 6-8 PSI on a stiffer nylon-belted tire.” That carcass flexibility helps enlarge the footprint, and brings the aggressive sidewall tread into action to help reduce slippage.
The XComp is a versatile, tough, comfortable, high-mileage tire that doesn’t shy away from tough trails. The XComp is offered in all popular sizes to fit your customer’s rigs. ■

Less Work, More Play! Oil-Change
Kits for Side-by-Sides
Maintenance is the price we pay for all the playtime our equipment provides, and most mechanics agree that the single most important aspect of vehicle care is on-time oil changes. With a SXS Quick Change Kit from Maxima Racing Oils, your customers can reduce work and increase play, all while filling their side-by-sides’ engines with premium lubricants.
Offered as an all-in-one oil-change package, modelspecific SXS Quick Change Kits are available for Can-Am Maverick X3 Turbo and all non-turbo models, as well as most modern Polaris RZR and Ranger models. These Oil Change in a Box kits include the appropriate quantity of 5W-40, 5W-50 or 10W-50 SXS Engine synthetic oil, a premium ProFilter spin-on or ProFilter cartridge filter (depending on model), and even a replacement drainplug crush washer. With Maxima’s oil-change kit, owners are no longer left staring at a wall of oil and filter choices trying to decide what’s right, and dealers are assured their customers are getting exactly what they need to keep their rigs running strong.
Convenience is a big reason your customers might choose a Quick Change Kit, but there’s also the quality. Maxima’s SXS Engine oil is a fully synthetic, ester-fortified oil specifically formulated for today’s high-power machines. This refined blend provides excellent film thickness and viscosity stability across all operating temperatures to deliver protection
for cylinder walls, pistons, bearing journals, transmission gears, and other critical engine areas.
The oil in this kit also integrates the new PEAC additive system that’s designed to improve engine cleanliness and clutch performance, as well as power and acceleration. This unique additive system is exclusive to the Maxima 4-stroke engine oil line-up. It is one of the reasons your customers can trust Maxima to protect their engines under the most severe conditions. Maxima’s SXS oil exceeds the requirements of API SN PLUS / JASO MA2 and is therefore OEM approved for all brands.
To keep that premium-synthetic oil working its best, SXS Quick Change Kits include either a cartridge or spin-on ProFilter. Featuring M-Pleat technology, these premium filters have a significantly larger filtration area than a stock filter and therefore have a greater capacity to hold contaminants and protect the engine.
ProFilter spin-on filters are built as tough as the sideby-sides for which they’re designed, with an 8-point welded canister for increased strength. Filters are leaktested during production, and feature a pre-lubricated sealing ring for easy installation and a 17mm hex nut to aid removal. ProFilter Oil Filters also have anti-drain back valves allowing for optimum oil pressure and flow as soon as the engine is started. ■

One Tough Tire
A UTV Tire for the Harshest Conditions
When the terrain is rocky instead of muddy, riders can take advantage of the KM3’s Linear Flex Zone. This technical feature allows the tires to flex and envelop objects for improved traction in those situations where it’s necessary to air down the tires.
Harsh conditions, like rocky terrain, can mean more potential punctures, but BFGoodrich designed the KM3 with that in mind. The sidewalls of this tire are packed with design and technology features to keep them running strong, no matter how tough the terrain gets.
Advanced Deflection Design helps prevent hazards from snagging and splitting the sidewall. The tough sidewall rubber features TractionArmor Sidewall Sculpture, a notched shoulder design that both increases traction and guards against splitting.
Riders who want to spend less time winching their UTV out of the mud know that the right tires can make the difference between getting bogged down and getting farther down the trail. The BFGoodrich Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 UTV tire is designed for serious off-road riders who tackle the toughest, most slippery environments.
BFGoodrich designed the KM3 tire to excel in both mud and loose soil, though it is also an excellent climbing tire, making it a great all-around tire choice. From mud to rocks, the KM3 tire can power through at virtually any angle of approach thanks to the massive tread blocks in the Terrain-Attack tread design.
The tread works in tandem with BFGoodrich’s cutting-edge Krawl-Tek Compound, which is specially formulated to get traction even on slick surfaces. All of those grippy components are no good if they’re gummed up with a buildup of mud, which is why the KM3 tires also include Mud-Phobic Bars, which continuously release compacted mud.
The sidewall gets even more of a boost in toughness from BFGoodrich’s CoreGuard Max Technology. In fact, the company says the KM3 tire is 27 percent tougher than its predecessor, the KM2, thanks to this technology.
The KM3 UTV tire is adapted from technology developed for the Baja 1000-winning Mud-Terrain T/A KM3 and Baja T/A KR2 tires. That means the KM3 UTV tires are incredibly tough, since they are derived from tires that conquered one of the toughest off-road races in the world. Whether a customer is looking for tires for their sport or multipurpose UTV, they can select the KM3 tire knowing it will stand up to whatever they might encounter.

Oils for ATVs and UTVs
ATVs and UTVs are made to stand up to tough riding conditions, from mud to rocks and everything in between. That means the components that keep these vehicles running need to be tough, too, and that includes the oil. Bel-Ray helps ATVs and UTVs perform at their best, in any terrain, with the ATV & SxS Synthetic 5w50 and ATV & SxS Mineral 10w40 oils. Riders can head out with confidence, knowing these two oils are specially formulated for their vehicles and include premium features like Bel-Ray’s proprietary Rust Defense System (RDS). RDS gives the oil additional lubrication and protection if any water gets inside the engine, which means the engine will be protected from rust and corrosion. Considering the environments ATVs and UTVs have to navigate, RDS is a must-have.
The Bel-Ray ATV & SxS Synthetic 5w50 oil was formulated to meet the demands of Polaris vehicles, but those properties make it a great choice for other ATVs and UTVs, too. The low-volatility base oils help minimize oil consumption, while the high-viscosity index provides improved protection in high temperatures.
Bel-Ray’s oils for ATVs and UTVs are formulated specifically for these vehicles and the harsh and demanding conditions under which they operate.
Riders who want a reliable oil at a cost-effective price point will appreciate the Bel-Ray ATV & SxS Mineral 10w40 oil. This petroleum-based premium mineral oil is designed for the specific demands of ATVs and UTVs, and it includes wear protection to extend the life of the engine. ■

Purposeful Power Premium Pistons for Side-by-Sides
Modifications are part of the fun of powersports, and for the UTV crowd, those mods increasingly entail pumping up engine output with high-performance components. Quality pistons are the heart of any serious build, so whether your KRX, RZR, and Talon customers want to improve reliability in their naturally aspirated project or are stuffing the cylinders with forced induction, JE Pistons Ultra Series UTV Pistons are an excellent choice.
The Ultra Series is JE’s strongest, most sophisticated shelf piston to date, and it’s offered in standard to high compression ratios. The hallmark of the lineup is Aligned Grain Flow Technology that provides tremendous strength for unprecedented reliability. This in-house forging process directs the grain flow of the aluminum around critical areas of the piston, providing more strength with the same thickness of material.
Ultra pistons also come with custom-level features such as lateral gas ports and an accumulator groove to improve piston-ring sealing, which is critical in boosted applications.
Ultra-thick ring lands aid in maintaining ring stability in forced induction and high-horsepower N/A engines, while JE’s proprietary Tuff Skirt film coating reduces friction for better wear resistance and improved performance.
As always, JE products like the Ultra Series UTV pistons are designed and manufactured in the USA, and come complete with ring pack, wrist pin, and wire locks. ■

Compress to Impress All the Right Ratios
Your ATV and UTV customers want their vehicles to be exciting, which often means squeezing more performance out of the engine. Altering an engine’s compression ratio is a proven powerbooster, and Wössner has the pistons to make it happen.
Compression ratio is the difference between the cylinder volume when the piston is at the bottom of the stroke versus the top of the stroke. In simpler terms, it’s how hard the intake charge gets squeezed, with more compression yielding more power, but also more heat. How much compression an engine runs depends on the application and your customer’s needs.
At Wössner, engineers are hard at work designing replacement pistons in a variety of compression ratios to fit a range of builds. For example, Wössner has pistons for the Yamaha Wolverine RMAX in a stock compression of 11.2:1, low compression of 10.2:1, and a maximum compression of 12.2:1.
Why so many options? There’s an OE-replacement piston for those who want to refresh their engine, but stick with
Wössner offers pistons kits in a range of compression ratios for a variety of vehicle fitments.
a stock compression ratio. The low compression piston is intended for use with a turbo, where forced induction actually increases the compression ratio. Then, a good old-fashioned high-comp piston will increase performance across the board in naturally aspirated engines. ■
» Wossner’s piston options are extensive, and cover all popular models with a variety of compression ratios. To learn more about the full lineup, talk with your Parts rep and check out the ATV & UTV catalog and www.parts-unlimited.com.

APPAREL
Ride Casual Fashionable Asphalt Resistance
Motorcycle apparel doesn’t have to look like motorcycle apparel. A lot of riders even prefer it that way. With modern materials and armor, a piece of riding gear can be a great defense against the asphalt, while still looking like a piece of fashionable clothing.
For riders who want to look good both on and off the bike, ICON has the new Uparmor Covec Jeans and Slabtown Jeans. Both styles give off a casual vibe, but they’re still packed with rider-centric features. In fact, both of these jeans are solid enough riding pieces to have CE certification. Comfort is a must, too, which is why ICON designed these jeans with stretch materials in all the right places.
The ICON Uparmor Covec Jeans look like a regular pair of fashion jeans at a glance, including pre-faded styling for both the black and blue color options. These jeans are made from Covec T400 stretch denim, which means they’re ultra-comfortable and flexible, but extremely durable at the same time.
Covec is a highly technical fabric that is designed to be strong, while still being lightweight. Riding jeans made of thick, heavy denim are a thing of the past thanks to modern materials like this. Covec is great at resisting abrasion, and it can even reduce heat transfer in a high-friction scenario. In other words, Covec might look like it came from the runway, but it’s built for the asphalt.
Underneath that Covec denim are D3O Ghost knee impact protectors. Again, modern materials come to the rescue to save riders from having to wear clunky, bulky clothing. This armor is lightweight and low-profile, yet still extremely effective.
ICON took a slightly different approach to the Slabtown Jeans, using Cordura stretch denim to provide that same blend of light weight, flexibility and durability. Cordura stretch denim has all the appearance of regular denim, but all the resistance you’d expect in a pair of quality riding pants. There are stretch panels above the knees, so that means there’s even more flexibility, making these great for riders who move around a lot on the bike. There’s no binding and no limitation to getting a knee out through the corners. The Slabtown Jeans come in a pre-faded black for that well-worn look. Underneath, D3O Ghost impact protectors in the hips and knees provide maximum coverage with minimum bulk.
Sizing for both styles of jeans runs from 30 to 44. ■

An Adventure Tire that Goes Anywhere
Dunlop’s Trailmax Raid tire is designed for mid-size to large-displacement dual-sport and Adventure bikes. It offers excellent traction and cornering grip for off-road, and has balanced handling and stability on the road. Wet grip and cold-weather characteristics are outstanding, making this a true all-weather tire.
Adventure riders who want to get as far from easy-going, paved roads as possible will be excited for the new Dunlop Trailmax Raid tire. This premium Adventure tire is about as close as riders can get to an off-road tire without giving up road-going capabilities.
Dunlop says only the Rally Raid D908RR, which inspired the Trailmax Raid, is more skewed to the off-road side of things. In addition to its excellent off-road properties, the Trailmax Raid also offers strong on-road performance, with handling and stability as well as superb performance in the wet.
The Trailmax Raid is designed for midsize to large-displacement dual-sport and Adventure bikes, suiting a wide range of models. Varying riding conditions are no problem for this new tire since it can handle everything from hot summer days to cold temperatures.
Much of this versatility is thanks to the key technologies built into the Trailmax Raid. One of the most notable features is the use of Dunlop’s Highly Dispersible High Surface Area Silica. The Hi-Silica compound, also found in the Dunlop Mutant and Roadsmart IV, improves both mileage and wet grip, and it promotes compound flexibility even at low temperatures.
Handling characteristics are bolstered by two Dunlop technologies, including Dynamic Front Formula (DFF) and Carcass Tension Control System. DFF is a front-tire design method that precisely combines the profile, casing materials and assembly processes to enhance handling agility.
The Carcass Tension Control System uses variable tension throughout the tire carcass to optimize the contact patch, resulting in better handling and an improved footprint.
Dunlop’s Jointless Belt technology can be found in many of its motorcycle tires, including the new Trailmax Raid. By eliminating belt overlap, this technology promotes stability and handling. At the same time, heat build-up and distortion at speed are both reduced for more consistent, predictable performance.
The front Trailmax Raid tire features reduced block gaps in the shoulder area, which ensures grip at greater lean angles. Even though the Trailmax Raid is off-road oriented, this is a feature that greatly enhances its on-road performance. The tie bars that link the blocks on the front tire add to rigidity and improve stability, which is especially beneficial for larger bikes. The tread pattern is also designed to reduce noise, another feature that benefits riding on the road.
The rear Trailmax Raid tire has large center blocks that provide longevity and can handle the higher power output on the road with ease. The shoulder blocks are designed to grip well during cornering.
In all, the Dunlop Trailmax Raid tire offers excellent traction and cornering grip during off-road riding, but it also has balanced handling and stability on the road. Wet grip and cold-weather characteristics are outstanding, making this a true all-weather tire. ■

With that in mind, THOR developed the Sector 2 helmet, a high-quality helmet that delivers high-end style and functionality at a budget-friendly price, coming in at only $129.95 retail.
Sector 2 helmets are built with an injection molded polycarbonate/ABS outer shell for a sturdy first layer of protection that doesn’t carry excess weight. Under the shell, the helmet provides impact dampening between the shell and the rider’s head, meeting DOT and ECE 22.06 approval qualifications.
Comfort is a priority with Sector 2 helmets as well, featuring a dual density EPS liner that was designed with extensive venting characteristics. Any rider who’s put in a tough moto or a long ride on the trails knows that it doesn’t need to be hot outside to break a sweat, so airflow through the helmet plays a big role in keeping riders comfortable and dry. This liner is also completely removable and washable, making it easy to freshen things up for the next ride.
Up front, a flexible rubber nose piece outlines a high-flow mouth for extra air intake into the helmet. Additionally, the outer shape of the rear shell was designed to make it easier for riders to reposition their goggle strap. Sector 2 helmets are available in XS through 2XL sizes and five different colorways sure to match your customers’ styles.
Moving down from helmets, Blitz XR MX boots from THOR feature design and construction that’s been refreshed for improved structural support, durability, comfort and style.
On the outside, Blitz XR MX boots feature sturdy, injection molded construction throughout several components, including a pre-curved shin plate, outsole, positive lock buckles and the medial abrasion plate. The outsole uses a steel shank insert for added form reinforcement and durability, while the medial abrasion plate has integrated shift protection to deliver improved longevity on the shifting toe. Plus, fully synthetic calf overlays help Blitz XR MX boots deliver optimal grip against the motorcycle in highly durable fashion.
Inside the boot, THOR incorporated a padded mesh interior that provides a positive formed-fit and improved breathability. This plays into the optimized comfort of Blitz XR MX boots which is heightened by the three fully adjustable strap design, allowing riders to custom tailor their fit. Blitz XR MX boots are tested and certified to standard EN 13634:2017 and are available in men’s sizes 7 through 15 in six different great looking colorways.

RIDING APPAREL
THOR’s Sector 2 helmet is a high-quality helmet that delivers style and functionality at a budget-friendly price. It offers great protection and comfort and is built to provide plenty of cooling airflow.
The design of what have historically been known as chest protectors has evolved quite a way from the initial bulky and clunky designs. Slimmed down versions, now categorized as roost guards, feature more naturally fitting chassis for improved rider mobility while maintaining protection. An ideal example of this is THOR’s Sentinel LTD roost guard, a line that was developed through testing and feedback from professional to hobbyist level riders.
The Sentinel LTD roost guard was designed with the rider in mind, featuring a low-profile, lightweight design made with press-fit, molded construction with panels covering both the front and back of the torso. This fit and function helps deflect rocks and roost so riders can stay in the thick of the battle without falling back. A ventilated comfort liner system combined with abundantly placed ventilation ports work together to deliver maximum cooling characteristics for the rider.
Riders can easily tailor their Sentinel LTD roost guard fit with removable shoulder pads and dynamic adjustability at the shoulders and waistline with elastic closures and a ratcheting buckle. Sentinel LTD roost guards are designed to be worn either under or over the jersey and come in four different colorways to fit the look riders are going for. These are available to fit a wide range of your customers, covering approximately the 120-to-250-pound range.
THOR’s place at the forefront of motocross and off-road gear has curated a thorough catalog of racewear and protective equipment to serve your complete range of customers, from casual riders to serious racers, head to toe. ■

Choose Your Own Adventure Tires to Suit Every Style
For those riders who want to get out into the middle of nowhere, but need to take paved roads to get there, the Bridgestone Battlax Adventurecross AX41 has the perfect combination of off-road and on-road performance.
One of the best things about Adventure riding is that there are so many ways to define just what an adventure is. For some riders, it’s adding up the miles on paved roads on the way to seeing new places. For others, it’s getting off the pavement and into the wild. And in between those two segments are the riders who want some mix of both of those options.
Fortunately, no matter which category an Adventure rider falls into, Bridgestone has a tire for them. The Battlax Adventurecross AX41 is an off-road oriented tire, with a 40-percent onroad/60-percent off-road mix, while the Battlax A41 has an on-road orientation thanks to its 90/10 mix. In the middle of those two is the Battlax Adventure Trail AT41, which has an 80-percent on-road, 20-percent off-road design.
For those riders who want to get out into the middle of nowhere, the Battlax Adventurecross AX41 has the perfect combination of tread pattern, compound and high cross-sectional area to provide superb off-road traction.
When it’s time to ride paved roads, the AX41 tire provides a smooth ride thanks to Bridgestone’s Even-Wear Design, which improves on-road performance by reducing the deformation of tread blocks. Riding on the street is better, plus the blocks are still standing tall for those off-road rides.
Bridgestone designed the Battlax Adventure A41 for Adventure riders who prefer to stick to paved roads, and it is an outstanding choice for riders who want premium wet-weather performance. At the same time, the team at Bridgestone knows even street-oriented Adventure riders still want the ability to navigate a dirt road with ease from
time to time, which is why the A41 was designed with a 90/10 split.
Adventure bike riders put on the miles, so the A41 tire is designed with Bridgestone’s 3LC Dual Compound construction on the front and rear. The center compound has the longevity needed for long trips, while the softer shoulder compounds provide maximum grip at lean. Additionally, a silica-rich compound boosts both tire warm-up time and wet-weather grip. Wet performance is further enhanced with a grooved tread pattern that provides both stability and agility.
The Battlax Adventure Trail AT41 is for those riders who don’t want to choose between on-road and off-road. This 80/20 tire features a more aggressive tread design while maintaining excellent touring and wet-weather performance.
Bridgestone introduced a new compound for the front AT41 tire which both improves wear life and increases wet traction. On the rear, Bridgestone’s 3LC + Cap & Base technology bolsters traction in both wet and dry conditions. These features combined with an optimized groove design give the Battlax Adventure Trail AT41 confidence-inspiring traction in the wet, as well as improved wet braking and water drainage.
The Battlax Adventure Trail AT41 also includes Bridgestone’s MS Belt technology, which combines with the block pattern to offer confidence-inspiring stability. ■

REP’S RIDE: NICK SPOONER’S 2023 HUSQVARNA TX 300
When stock bikes are as good as they are these days, it’s hard to find anything they need right off the showroom floor. That said, there is plenty left on the want list, especially when it comes to modifying and fortifying your mount for Midwest hare scrambles racing.
For veteran off-road racer and Parts Unlimited sales rep Nick Spooner, that’s only part of the reason he got to work on this gorgeous build when he brought home the new generation 2023 Husqvarna TX 300.
“For me, building and modifying bikes is half the fun of owning motorcycles,” Spooner says. “And, I have two boys. They love helping out, and time in the garage with them is part of the fun.”

REP’S RIDE
Photos by Taryn Shifflet
Parts Unlimited rep Nick Spooner is not one to race a stock machine. His customized 2023 Husqvarna TX 300 is a textbook example of what’s possible with an idea and those Parts Unlimited catalogs.
Oscar Spooner safety wires the front sprocket on his dad Nick’s new hot-rod Husky, essential work when it comes to racing.
With his “factory mechanics” Oscar (6) and Sawyer (9) helping turn wrenches, Spooner turned to the Parts Unlimited OffRoad and Tire & Service catalogs to take this 300cc 2-stroke from stock to his ideal race weapon. Featuring products from Acerbis, GPR Stabilizer, Michelin, Moose Racing, Rekluse, Renthal, SDi and more to complete his build, Spooner first started with the essential step of tearing it all down to bare bones.
“I took everything apart when I got the bike and pulled the suspension off and chassis parts and greased everything and made sure everything was torqued right,” he says. “That was part of the fun I had with the kids, too, showing them how to pull the bike apart and making sure everything is put together right.”
During reassembly, it was time to customize with some trusted go-to upgrades.
“For me, reliability is big, especially when you race for two hours. I replace stuff like the wheels,” he says. “I built up a set of Moose wheels because they have stronger spokes and rims.” The Moose Racing wheels are wrapped in Michelin tires and bib mousses, something Spooner calls an essential for off-road racing.

NICK SPOONER’S CUSTOM HUSQVARNA TX 300
All racers need a pit crew like this. Parts rep Nick Spooner (center) and his trusty techs, sons Oscar (left) and Sawyer (right).
The tail tells the tale – just a handful of the vendors that Nick used on his custom Husky.
Sawyer Spooner’s wrenching skills were essential in helping his dad, Nick, dial in his 2023 Husqvarna TX 300.
REP’S RIDE
“Those are the new Michelin StarCross 6. I’m definitely a Michelin fanboy,” Spooner says. “I roadraced for 10 years using Michelin tires, too. The life, and how well they work when they’re worn is second to none. I’ve always gone Michelin. For off-road, to me, you can’t race off-road without bib mousses. Not having to worry about getting flats is almost invaluable.”
Other essentials on the TX 300, according to Spooner, are the Rekluse Radius CX auto-clutch kit and GPR steering damper. “Literally, the last three bikes I’ve had, I put those on before I even rode the bike. There’s a decent amount of high-speed stuff in hare scrambles and GP racing, and for me, a GPR damper is essential,” Spooner says. “Same with Rekluse clutch. Once you’ve had a Rekluse auto-clutch, you know it’s one of the best performance parts you can possibly put on your bike.”
Many of the accessories in his build are Spooner’s regular go-tos, but he opted to try something different on the suspension side with the Suspension Direct (SDi) Shock Bladder Conversion Kit. This setup allows you to modify the shock from the OEM floating piston design to a conventional bladder system for plusher action and more consistent feel.
“SDi is actually pretty new with us. The conversion kit adds a bladder to the shock and it makes it work way better,” he explains. “I actually never had one of those before. I saw the SDi guys at NVP and I had heard of their products, and decided to give them a try on this build.
“The stock preload adjuster on the shock is plastic and they can slip. SDi has a nice aluminum preload adjuster. They also have really nice machined aluminum adjusters for compression and rebound, so you get the full complement.”
Especially in off-road racing, the drive is an area that can always use some added strength and protection. For this, he opted for key upgrades like the Renthal rear sprocket and sealed chain, with an Acerbis chain slider to keep it all flowing. “The stock bike comes with an aluminum sprocket and the Renthal is a twin-ring – a steel outer ring with an aluminum carrier,” Spooner says. “They’re basically indestructible. This bike did not come with a sealed chain, so I added the Renthal sealed chain. Again, reliability. You go through parts really fast on these things.”
Some modifications are purely for fit and preference, such as the Renthal Fatbar and Renthal Kevlar grips. “It’s important

to get the right bend that I like, the right height,” Spooner says. A Moose throttle tube allowed use of traditional grips (rather than the stock lock-on style), and Acerbis hand guards completed the handlebar setup.
Arguably just as important as comfort is the right look. No build is complete without custom graphics, and this Parts Unlimited build is definitely one-of-a-kind with custom graphics that Spooner helped design. “I really wanted a cool ’90s style, but with a modern twist with the chrome and the colors. It came out really cool,” he notes.
DP Brake pads and Braking brake rotors will help endure hours of abuse, while Moose Racing throttle body guard, ignition guard and rear brake disc guard help protect against the many trail hazards Spooner will likely slam his TX 300 through on his way to the checkered flag.
The parts list amounts to a sizeable chunk, but it’s in the hands of the beholder to call any powersports build worth more than the sum of its parts – in this case, the small hands of Sawyer and Oscar that helped to apply thread locker, properly torque bolts and safety-wire the important bits.
2023 HUSQVARNA TX 300
“I don’t have a ton of time to ride, but I want to have a sweet ride that has cool parts and accessories on it, looks awesome, and of course, I always love spending time in the garage with my boys,” he says. “So, the project, to me, is almost as fun as riding.”
Well done, Spooner boys. ■

A High-Tech Off-Road Helmet
Rotational force management is significant because it includes testing for oblique/rotational energy transferred to the rider’s head in an impact. Although top-level certification standards are just now beginning to include rotational force mitigation in their criteria, the Alpinestars SM5 helmet already has that technology built into its design.
The inner EPS liner of the SM5 is polished to a smooth finish, then a low-friction resin has been applied to make it even more slippery. The result is that the comfort liner slides easily across the surface of the EPS liner. This allows the rider’s head to move independently inside the helmet, which can reduce the amount of force transmitted to the head in an impact.
That slippery EPS liner is comprised of 7 pieces, including 5 different densities of EPS, for maximum coverage in key impact zones.
Needless to say, there’s a lot to appreciate about the SM5 helmet in addition to its high level of rotational force mitigation. Alpinestars put a lot of thoughtful detail into its design.
The opening of the SM5 is designed with a raised chin bar, which provides as much collarbone clearance as possible to reduce impact forces transmitted to the collarbone.
Another key feature of the SM5 is the ERS Emergency Release System, which allows the cheek pads to be removed easily in an emergency. This reduces the risk of additional injury during the removal of the helmet.
Motorcycle helmets have come a long way in recent years, as new technologies and materials have enabled them to do their job better than ever. Part of knowing how to build an effective helmet involves knowing how and what to test for.
As we learn more about crash testing and the effects of a well-designed helmet in reducing potential injury to a rider, it’s not just linear impacts that helmet manufacturers like Alpinestars are focusing on. Oblique impacts and rotational energy force management are a key factor in the Alpinestars SM5 helmet’s protection envelope.
Even the visor’s movement in the event of an impact was taken into consideration when Alpinestars designed the SM5 helmet. The patented visor release system, which can also be found in other Alpinestars helmets, is designed to detach when an impact force threshold is exceeded. That way, the visor flies free so it can’t snag on anything.
Alpinestars hasn’t forgotten to factor rider comfort into the SM5 design, of course. There are five air intakes on the front, and air flows both into the helmet as well as through channels in the EPS liner. The cheek pads have tabs to secure a hydration system hose, making the SM5 great for longer rides and hot weather. ■
