School-Aged Childcare Break Camps A perfect solution for parents needing school-aged childcare during the Peoria School District breaks. These are an extension of our AM/PM program and offers crafts, STEM activities, games, scheduled field trips and special on-site activities in a safe, supervised environment. See the dates and school locations below. Note that field trips are subject to change and cancellation. Ages When Fee

Plus a $30 registration fee. Registration is ongoing based on availability. Children participate in a variety of activities and expand education, social and developmental skills in a supervised and secure environment. The goal is the total well-being of each child. Registrations are first come, first serve and teams do fill up quickly. You will need your family ID and password to register. The City of Peoria offers 4 recreational swim teams: Sunrise Red Sharks, Sunrise Green Sharks, Centennial Stingrays and Peoria Piranhas and 3 recreational dive teams: Sunrise Red Sharks, Sunrise Green Sharks, and Peoria Blue Piranhas. Practices are held Mon.-Thur., May 29 - July 13, with meets approximately once a week. Registrations are first come first serve, and do fill up quickly. Fees for Swim Team $90 Res./$150 Non-Res. Fees for Dive Team $60 Res./$70 Non-Res. DES/DDD FUNDED PROGRAMS

The City of Peoria Adaptive Recreation Program contracts with the Department of Economic Security, Division of Developmental Disabilities, to offer a variety of Day Treatment and Training Services. All programs are staffed on a 1:4 staff-to-participant ratio, so a moderate-to-high level of independence is required. After School Recreation Program provides age appropriate activities for students 12-17 and 18-21 years of age. Program days follow the Peoria Unified School District calendar. Elementary Summer Recreation Program is an 8 week program for individuals 6-11 years of age. This program runs 8 a.m. - 2:30 p.m. five days a week as an integrated program in conjunction with the City of Peoria’s Summer Recreation Program. This program uses DTS hours. High School Summer Recreation Program is an 8 week program for individuals 12-17 and 18-21 years of age. This program runs 8 a.m. - 2 p.m. five days a week as a self-contained program and uses a combination of DTS and RSP hours. Hike of the Month

Enjoying a different hike each month across the valley and beyond. Hikes will be easy to moderate with some inclines and declines that are specified for the beginner. Make sure to wear appropriate shoes and clothing. Bring water and wear sunscreen on all hikes. Transportation will be in City vans and meet at the Peoria Community Center (8335 W. Jefferson St.). Nature Trail (Piestewa Peak) This 1.5 mile hike takes you through the east side of the popular Piestewa Peak park in Phoenix Mountains Reserve. Though well-defined, the rocky trail can be tricky at times and may require bit of focused foot work, but the scenery will be worth it. This 3 mile hike will lead us to see some hieroglyphics (actually petroglyphs).
